A new series of Imidazo[2,1-b]benzothiazole derivatives were designed, synthesized in good yields and biologically evaluated in this contribution, by following a known procedure in literature, a 2-(p-bromo phenyl and p-biphenyl) Imidazo[2,1-b]benzothiazole derivatives were synthesized. These derivatives were subjected to Vilsmeier-Haack conditions to form the 3-substituted carbaldehydes. These aldehydes were converted to azalactones derivatives by using hippuric acid, then azalactones were turned to imidazolones by reacting with different amines. Additionally, aldehydes were also reacted with thiosemicarbazide to afford new thiosemicarbazones, which they are cyclized to triazole and thiadiazol acetamide derivatives by using HCl and acetic anhydride subsequently. Studies on thiosemicarbazones are of important class of ligands which possesses various optical, antibacterial, antifungal, anticancer activities, etc. Incorporation of these bioactive ligands into the active metals like ruthenium, resulting in the synthesis of new bioactive compounds. Because of this motivation, we herein prepared the phenyl end substituted thiosemicarbazone ligand in ethanol solvent by adding ethoxy salicylaldehyde solution into phenyl thiosemicarbazone solution. The ruthenium(III) complexes was prepared with the newly synthesized ligand. The new ligand along with the ruthenium complexes were characterized and the resulting investigation reveals the octahedral geometry of the complexes. The Present study describes the synthesis, spectral and biological investigations on the complexes of Nickel(II) aryl thiosemicarbazones having the general Composition [Ni(L1)2Cl2], [Ni(L2)2Cl2], {where L1= 4-Hydroxyacetophenone thiosemicarbazone (4HAT), L2 = 3-Nitroacetophenone thiosemicarbazone (3NAT). All the synthesized thiosemicarbazone ligands and their Ni(II) complexes have been characterised by elemental analysis, melting point determination, FTIR, UV-visible spectral analysis. The synthesized ligands and their new metal Complexes have been screened in vitro for antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, S. aureus and Bacillus subtilis bacteria. Nonlinear optical (NLO) materials have attracted considerable attention with potential applications as optical switching, data storage and optoelectronic devices. Compared with inorganic counterparts, organic complexes owing to its structural flexibility are received growing interest. With this forefront investigations, we herein report synthesis of a set of ruthenium complexes containing Schiff base, ethoxy-methylthiosemicarbazone, and non Schiff base ligands with available metal precursors. The synthesized ligands and the ruthenium complexes were characterized by various analytical and spectrochemical techniques viz., FT-IR, UV-Vis, ¹HNMR, 13CNMR and 31PNMR. All the physio-chemical and spectral techniques confirmed that the ruthenium atom is in +2 oxidation state and an octahedral geometry is proposed to all the complexes. The spectral techniques reveals that the ruthenium atom in the complexes coordinated to Schiff base ligand through Oxygen:Nitrogen:Sulphur (ONS) mode. Further, the nonlinear optical property of the compounds was investigated by kurtz-perry powder technique which through a light on the materialistic properties of the ruthenium complexes. A novel 2-Butyl-4-chloro-5-formylimidazole thiosemicarbazonecobalt (II) complex is synthesized and characterized by using spectroscopic techniques like elemental analysis, FT-IR, HRMS, electronic spectral analysis and Powder-X-ray diffraction. The Co(II) complex is found to be highly efficient in inhibiting the growth of human pathogens like S. aureusand B. megaterium with MIC value 12.0μg/mL whose inhibition zones are almost comparable with the standard antibiotic. The synthesized complex well occupies in the active site of β- ketoacyl-acyl carrier protein synthase III enzyme (PDB: 1MZS), in consists of catalytic triad and adenine-binding site, so the designed compoundis promising for to treat bacterial infection. Two novel copper(II) complexes [Cu(HL)Cl]Cl.H2O (1) and [Cu(L)NO3].H2O (2) of the three NNS donor thiosemicarbazone ligand 6-(3-thienyl) pyridine -2-thiosemicarbazone have been synthesized. The ligand and its copper(II) complexes were characterized by elemental analysis (C, H, N, and S), FT-IR, UV-visible, magnetic susceptibility and molar conductance. The thiosemicarbazone is present either as the thione form in complex 1 or as thiol form in complex 2 and is coordinated to copper(II) atom via the pyridine nitrogen atom, the azomethine nitrogen atom and the sulfur atom.
