In the context of the hydrocarbon sector, which is crucial for the global and regional economies of Latin America, significant issues were identified in the operational efficiency of fuel supply terminals. These challenges included deficiencies in machine maintenance, lack of process standardization, and congestion in dispatch areas, negatively impacting productivity and increasing operational costs. This situation highlighted the need to apply method engineering techniques to optimize processes and improve operational efficiency. The contribution of this research consisted of developing and implementing a process improvement model based on method engineering to increase productivity in the dispatch area of a fuel supply terminal. The proposed model included stages of process selection, detailed diagramming, analysis and development of a new method, implementation, and control. These stages allowed for the identification and elimination of redundant activities, optimization of loading times, and improved resource utilization. The most outstanding results of implementing the new method included: a reduction in total process time from 77 to 62 minutes, representing a 19.48% improvement; an increase in the man-machine utilization percentage from 85% to 91%; a significant decrease in the waiting times for tanker trucks; and an improvement in operational efficiency, reaching a maximum efficiency of 98% on high productivity days. These indicators demonstrated that the application of method engineering effectively resolved the identified problems, increasing the productivity and efficiency of the fuel dispatch area. It draws on modern logistics theory to highlight the unique features of some of the leading logistics functions applied in ammunition supply operations. Over time, the evolution of societies has been influenced by the available resources, so it can be appreciated that all organizations, regardless of their type, are functionally dependent on their own logistics, especially on the capabilities of its main fields. From the perspective of carrying out military actions, both in peacetime and at war, logistics represents the bridge between the fighting forces and the necessary logistical support given to the structures of the National Security System, who will have at their disposal all the resources necessary to fulfill the objectives and missions. Natural disasters have become more frequent in recent times, making post-disaster relief management a global concern. The resultant inaccessibility to large areas and damage to communication infrastructure hinders the optimized prioritization of relief measures. While unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have played a limited role in disaster management operations, leveraging aerial edge computing (AEC) in disaster relief management supply chains has the potential to significantly enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of relief efforts. AEC combines the versatility of aerial platforms with real-time data processing and analysis, thus enabling quick data-driven actions. While academic interest in this field of AEC is noteworthy with an increase in the number of annual academic publications, such innovations tend to remain in the halls of academia, at a distance from the on-theground post-disaster decision-makers and practitioners. Thus, this study aimed to conduct a systematic literature review of the topic to bring to the fore current understandings, challenges, and possibilities for AEC adoption. The PRISMA methodology was used to execute the systematic literature review and thematic analysis was used to extract the dominant themes. The themes that were extracted include rapid needs assessment, logistics optimization, dynamic resource allocation, network establishment, and personnel and asset tracking. The themes around challenges revolve around platform stability, safety and security, regulatory compliance, and interoperability. The purpose of this work was to analyze and evaluate consumer behavior in the conditions of the coronavirus pandemic. The main non-price determinants of supply and demand are considered. The hypothesis has been formulated and proved that the Covid19 pandemic has become a new non-price factor in modern conditions, having a double impact - an impact on both demand and supply of goods and services. The results demonstrated that the e-commerce has been increased significantly during the pandemic for consumers. Each order has an individual box, product packaging, and delivery route. This study aims to contribute to the current body of knowledge on Supply Chain Integration (SCI) in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), focusing specifically on the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) will be used as a case study to illustrate the concepts discussed. It is widely recognized that the primary objective of SCI is to optimize the seamless and productive movement of goods and services, information, financial resources, and decision-making processes to enhance customer value. This research investigates the relationship between three elements of SCI and their influence on business performance. The utilization of contingency approach was employed to evaluate the correlation between different levels of SCI, namely customer integration, supplier integration, and internal integration, and their collective impact on business performance. The researchers employed multiple regression analysis to assess the influence of these characteristics. The study utilized analysis of variance (ANOVA), t-test, and posthoc analysis to examine the relationship between the levels of SCI and their impact on business performance measures. The model elements exhibited strong internal consistency, with a coefficient alpha of 0.95. The study revealed a statistically significant correlation between all SCI levels and business performance. The need for currency rate control is caused by negative consequences of its sudden and unpredictable swings. Maintaining a stable exchange rate of the national currency is very important for ensuring price stability and currency circulation. The article analyzes the practice of monetary restraints both in developed countries and in countries with economies in transition. It considers tactics preventing currency rate control. One of such tactics used by companies to circumvent currency control and to hedge foreign currency risks is usage of forward contracts. In the direction of application of currency rate control, the practice of Iceland during the financial crisis is considered. The system of blocked accounts is investigated in the article as well. There is also the focus on the principles of developing monetary policy. The article concludes with a review of the role of currency rate control in the country's economic policy. The emphasis here is put on central banks, which loom large in regulating the supply and demand flows of foreign currency to maintain official currency parity as well as balance of payments equilibrium, which can be the most radical form of currency rate control. This paper aims to present the sugar beet and sugar market from a marketing perspective, both at national and european level, taking into account the main elements of the custom marketing mix on the sugar beet and sugar market (product, price, promotion, distribution) as well as the characteristics of demand and supply on the market of interest, represented by the consumption registered respectively by the number of economic agents and beet production at national level. We also want to show where we situated in Europe, in terms of the value of beet production at producer price. This paper is based on analysis of the sugar market at national and European level on the development of prices for the sugar market which will analyse the problems leading to stagnation and imbalance national sugar production, try solving the problems identified at national level taking as examples beet farms in Europe for analysing prices. The present study seeks to answer the question: how does corn price influence production, consumption and foreign trade? In order to answer this question we will analyse the areas cultivated with corn, the total production and implicitly the average yield per hectare in the last years. These data, together with the average annual consumption of grain maize and the volume of imports and exports, will lead to the determination of supply and demand for maize on the market. With the help of price data collected on the website of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, which can be found in geographical areas and calendar months, we can observe the monthly differences in prices. Using these data and calculating the correlation coefficient, it will be possible to determine at the end of the project the effects of the demand and the supply on the price of this product. The paper contributes to market research in the agri-food sector, by analyzing the structure of domestic meat supply from slaughtering, by species (cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, poultry) at national level and on the eight development regions. Also, for each species presented, the study deepens the age or production categories that are the subject of the meat offer. Thus, at the country level, pigs and poultry provide the largest share of the meat supply, each representing 39% of total, cattle provide 14% of the offer, sheep 7% and goats only 1%. At species level, calves and other young cattle represent the largest part of the cattle supply (67%), and for pigs, almost all pork is provided by animals over 50 kg (99.89%). In the sheep species, lambs provide 67% from slaughtering, and in goats, kids represent 97% of the meat supply of their species. Poultry slaughterings include hens, chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese and other poultry, of which chickens provide the largest share of poultry meat supply (64.8%). At the level of development regions, the most of cattle slaughterings are done in the North-East Region, the West Region occupies the first place in pork slaughterings, the South Eastern Region has the largest sheep and goat meat offer, and the South-Muntenia Region provides the largest quantity of poultry meat. The importance of adequate supply especially came to the fore during the pandemic of the COVID19 virus, when many production systems had a problem with timely supply, which affected the entire production process and the delivery of final products, and therefore the realized profit as well as customer satisfaction. The selection of an adequate supplier requires the analysis of a large number of criteria, which points to the application of multi-criteria decisionmaking methods. In theory and practice, a large number of multi-criteria decisionmaking methods are used, such as analytical hierarchical process, analytical network process, technique for order of preference by similarity to ideal solution, reference ranking organization method for enrichment of evaluations, etc. In this paper, an analytical hierarchical process was applied for the assessment and selection of suppliers. Also, numerous and different decision criteria are used when choosing a supplier, which largely depends on the specific needs and characteristics of the company. Applying the mentioned methodology and using it based on four criteria (quality, price, time, payment flexibility) a ranking list of suppliers was obtained. Also, a sensitivity analysis was conducted to determine whether a change in certain weighting factors leads to a change in the ranking. Domestic fruit supply stability is evaluated taking into consideration the dynamic interactions between production and consumption and testing the synchronization of the supply flow with the consumption demand. The statistical data series from the period 2002-2014 were used, and the forecast of fruit consumption, of the areas under orchards and of average yields was made through the exponential levelling method. The estimates indicate an increase of fruit consumption, except for apples, a decrease of areas and a slight increase of average yields. It can be noticed that under the background of decreasing areas, the slight increase of yields represents only an attenuation factor of foreseeable deficit. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Vegetables are important food in daily diet, because of their content in vitamins and minerals. Vegetables' market is dynamic in those regarding demand, supply and prices, therefore, the current study aim to investigate the conjuncture of the market. The objectives of the paper are to identify the main trends of vegetables market. Statistical data provided by the Romanian National Institute of Statistics has been analysed. The findings show that both demand and supply increased. Imports decreased in the last years, as well as its contribution to total supply. Differences between quantities purchased on the market and quantities consumed can be observed, for all species of vegetables. Considering limited recoverable natural gas reserves, nowadays daily production, as well as actual and future increasing requirements for gas consumption in Albania put forward two challenges: Increasing gas production from existing fields and exploration works for discovering new ones, as well as connection of existing gas pipeline of Albania with the European network through Trans Adriatic Pipeline. Also regarding seasonal fluctuations for gas consumption, as well as needs of Kosovo and FYROM for gas supply, it's compulsory to think about alternatives of opening underground gas storages in the Dumre region and extending gas pipeline to these neighboring countries. This conceptual paper stems from the ATRIUM project (http://www.atrium-see.eu/) which aims at establishing the framework for a historically and politically neutral economic exploitation of architecture characterising the totalitarian regimes of the 20th century on one, and creating a sound financial basis for its preservation on the other hand. We build on the premise that architecture characterising the totalitarian regimes of the 20th century can be accepted as cultural heritage. As a consequence, its economic potentials can be assessed. In the paper we take a closer look at both supply and demand side. On the supply side, we first discuss the issue of cultural tourism and present the so-called 'dark tourism' as its special form. We then list the elements of cultural tourism and show why in some cases cultural tourism can be a growth catalyst while in other cases it fails to perform this function. Given that most of the representative buildings and monuments of the totalitarian regimes of the 20th century can be found in the cities, we then turn our attention to city marketing: its goals and typology, but also illustrative examples from the perspective of the architecture characterising the totalitarian regimes of the 20th century. On the demand side, we use the a priori approach to identify and profile segments of tourists interested in architecture characterising the totalitarian regimes of the 20th century. In the process of profiling we focus on determination of prevailing socio-demographic and economic segment characteristics. This helps us assess their potential for economic exploitation along with their manageability, and thus provides insights into a long-term financial sustainability of the planned cultural route. The primary goal is to approximate efficiency and consequences of measures and instruments, at the level that satisfy the volume and quality of statistical material, without getting into the evaluation of completeness and inter-conditionality of the governmental set of measures in some segments of the policy. In addition, the history is not of great importance; therefore, the paper will be primarily concentrated on the first decade of the 20th century, i.e. the changed political and macroeconomic conditions. The task is not very simple for two reasons. First, authors are not informed about works in the domestic literature, which, except the descriptive approach, quantitatively and analytically deal with the efficiency of measures and instruments of the Serbian agrarian policy in the recent past, in spite of the developed econometrical and statistical instruments. The aim of the article is to study the responses of agricultural producers to price volatility in the form of elasticity of income and the supply of products under the assumption that the aim of the agricultural producers is income maximization. Microeconomic approach and two optimization models for the problem of agricultural producer's choice are used. The study included six scenarios assuming different levels of production costs and including or excluding the effects of agricultural policy in the form of payments implemented under the Common Agricultural Policy. According to the results the response of agricultural producer's income to changes in prices is greater for scenarios excluding payments and the force of producers reaction to price changes of individual products is dependent on the level of production costs. Since the housing reform in 1988, with the rapid development of the real estate in China major cities, the fluctuations of housing price becomes an important issue which makes a great impact on the national welfare and the people's livelihood, even the social conflicts. It affects not only the housing, but also the related industries. In the final analysis, price change in housing depends on housing supply and demand. This paper at first reviews some domestic scholars' points that the high housing price will continue or at least not fall. Then through the views of supply and demand, in analyzes the causes of price fluctuations and the major conflicts affecting price, thus puts forward the views that the housing price is possible to fall. This paper investigates the impact of renewable energy integration in the future smart grids in Europe, simulating the performance of the whole energy system so that renewable energy sources are matched to varying service demands. There are energy challenges and complexity issues associated with demand side management arising from the connection between micro-generation output, grid loads, the weather combined with transmission and distribution of energy throughout the network. Some issues of balancing demand and supply in energy networks are discussed. This helps to explore options for most reliable network configuration over the coming decades to ensure flexibility and to integrate unpredictable demands with a range of supplies under different conditions. Botswana has achieved some important strides in as far as e-Government implementation is concerned especially at the policy level. Some initiatives are being put in place to encourage the proliferation of e-Government projects. These initiatives include putting in place a dedicated e-Government team mandated with the responsibility to encourage penetration of e-Government projects to the doorsteps of the people; putting in place appropriate information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure such as the erection of a dedicated Trans-Kgalagadi radial fibre network; a government data network (GDN) which aims to seamlessly integrate all government line ministries and departments; subscription to regional submarine cable systems such as Eastern Africa Submarine Cable System (EASSy) and South Atlantic-3/West African Submarine Cable (SAT- 3/WASC), and the putting in place of sound institutional, legal and regulatory frameworks such as the establishment of the Botswana Telecommunications Authority, setting up of an e-Government task force, and so forth. These different interventions come with huge opportunity and financial costs. Under ideal circumstances, it is desired that such investments should correspondingly be met with appropriate demand for e-Government services from the general citizenry. Is this the case in Botswana? The famous phenomenon or law of supply and demand from the economics theory can be applied to implementation of e-Government projects. This short paper discusses the situation of supply and demand of e-Government in Botswana. This is done by presenting an empirical study that was done in the second biggest city of Botswana, Francistown, and surrounding areas. Ordinary or marginal individuals from all social strata are included in this study. The study also reviews some documentation on e-Government interventions that have been done in Botswana by the government and other co-operating partners. It can be inferred from the study presented in this paper that the supply side of e- Government services in Botswana conforms to acceptable levels. The article focuses on the new rules for goods and services tax/ harmonized sales tax (GST/HST) which are applicable to investment and pension plans. It says that the new rules aim to require GST/HST remission of employers on the supplies made for registered pension plans and provide new rebates on the GST/HST calculated qualifying pension plans. Moreover, it addresses rules concerning financial institutions which need to be applied on pension plans with members in a participating HST province.

The article focuses on various issues related commodity tax for the financial services sector. It says that supply characterization for goods and services tax, as well as harmonized sales tax purposes is essential to the determination of availability of input tax credits and the application of such taxes under the Canadian Excise Tax Act (ETA). Moreover, it explores the indicia and tests used by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and the courts to characterize a supply under the ETA.

Social and marketing survey with the aim to study the supply and demand of ecological food products was conducted in Neringa and Palanga resort towns in Lithuanian sea-shore region. Research revealed some differences in the answers of respondents on the mentioned topics according to the consumer age, sex, education and income level. There was a larger choice of these products in Palanga as compared with Neringa town, however it did not exceed 5,2 % of all registered ecological food products in Lithuania. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper is about the often ignored role of formal organizations and institutions in the initiation and perpetuation of international migration. In particular, this paper will explore the ways in which important sending actors from relevant institutions, such as the state, nursing schools and recruitment agencies, influence the migration process of Filipino nurses going to the United States. While previous research has discovered the ways in which different economic or social "push factors" motivates migration, it has not focused on the role that formal organizations and institutionalized networks play in perpetuating migration systems as well. This paper will address this gap in three main ways. First, this paper documents the ways in which the Philippine government has a vested interest in exporting labor to other countries, including nurses to the United States. Second, it demonstrates the direct role that nursing schools have in producing the "Filipino World-Class" nurse and the consequent indirect role these schools also play in continued migration. King represents a significant contribution by demonstrating conflicting findings in existing merger and acquisition research may result from alternate motivations behind merger and acquisition activity. 'Strategic Inertia Determinants: Analyzing the Size, Middle Manager, and Competitive Intensity Mix,' by Willie Edward Hopkins, Ajay Menon, Christian Homburg and Shirley Ann Hopkins, revisits firm size as a determinant of strategic inertia. 'Restructuring in Japanese Companies: Foreign Ownership, Strategic Investments, and Firm Performance' by Parthiban David, Toru Yoshikawa and Abdual A. Rasheed shows that foreign ownership leads to reduction in research and development and capital expenditures as well as improvement in performance, especially for firms with high free cash flow that are likely to have the most severe agency problems.

Mini-Grid is a new technology for developing countries like Nepal and socioeconomic aspects of this technology have to be identified for future implementation of this concept. Typically socioeconomic aspects are measured in terms of economic indices like employment and monetary gain whereas the socio-cultural and environmental issues are often neglected. This paper thus investigates the effect of Mini-Grid from a socioeconomic dimension including not only quantitative but also qualitative factors. Review platforms such as Yelp and TripAdvisor aggregate crowd-sourced information about users' experiences with products and services. We analyze their impact on the hotel industry using a panel of hotel prices, sales and reviews from five US states over a 10-year period from 2005--2014. Both hotel demand and prices are positively correlated with their average ratings on TripAdvisor, Expedia and Hotels.com, and such correlations have grown over our sample period from a statistical zero in the base year to a substantial level today: a hotel rated one star higher on all the platforms on average has 25% higher demand, and charges 9% more. We argue that the price increases are due to a combination of revenue management and re-pricing: increased demand from higher ratings shifts hotels along an upward sloping supply curve, and also causes small but significant changes in the supply curve itself. A natural experiment in our data that caused abrupt changes in the ratings of some hotels but not others, suggests that these associations are causal. Building on this causal interpretation, we estimate heterogenous treatment effects, showing that the impact of review platforms on hotels varies by organization form and hotel class.
