Abstract

The experimental data about the tensor analyzing power component T21 of the π-meson photo-production on the polarized deuterons are presented here along with the theoretical calculation. The experiment has been performed at the 2 GeV Novosibirsk VEPP-3 electron storage ring using an internal polarized deuterium target by detecting the two protons in coincidence. Abstract

The results on the measurement of the analyzing power component T[sub 20] in elastic ed scattering are presented. An internal storage cell target technique was used in the VEPP-3 electron ring in Novosibirsk for this measurement. The measurement has been performed in the range of momentum transfer poorly investigated but important from theoretical point of view because of the node of the monopole charge form factor of the deuteron. Abstract

There is an interest in the problem of polarized fusion with the neutronfree d³He reaction. Up to now, the experimental data on the cross sections of two dd reactions, which produce neutrons at once or through secondary dt reaction, are absent for polarized deuterons. There is a relatively cheap way to carry out the experiments with polarized deuterons at the Charles University in Prague. A polarized deuteron beam with energy from 100 keV up to approximately 1 MeV may be produced on the Van de Graaff accelerator by the channeling of a deuteron beam through magnetized Ni single crystal foil, according M. Kaminsky [Phys. Rev. Lett. 23, 819 (1969)]. This method permits to produce a polarized deuteron beam of an energy ≤ 1 MeV with a current of ∼ 1 nA, vector polarization P[sub 3] up to 2/3 and tensor polarization P[sub 33] = 0. It will be necessary to modify the existing polarized target at Charles University for work with a low energy deuteron beam [N.S. Borisov et al., Nucl. Instr. & Meth. A 345, 421 (1994)].
