Phenylketonuria (PKU) is the most common inherited metabolic disease in humans. Clinical screening of newborn heel blood samples for PKU is costly and time‐consuming because it requires multiple procedures, like isotope labeling and derivatization, and PKU subtype identification requires an additional urine sample. Delayed diagnosis of PKU, or subtype identification can result in mental disability. Here, plasmonic silver nanoshells are used for laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry (MS) detection of PKU with label‐free assay by recognizing metabolic profile in dried blood spot (DBS) samples. A total of 1100 subjects are recruited and each DBS sample can be processed in seconds. This platform achieves PKU screening with a sensitivity of 0.985 and specificity of 0.995, which is comparable to existing clinical liquid chromatography MS (LC‐MS) methods. This method can process 360 samples per hour, compared with the LC‐MS method which processes only 30 samples per hour. Moreover, this assay enables precise identification of PKU subtypes without the need for a urine sample. It is demonstrated that this platform enables high‐performance and fast, low‐cost PKU screening and subtype identification. Altered metabolism of cancer cells reshapes the unique tumor microenvironment (TME) with glucose addiction and high antioxidant levels, resulting in a strong alliance to promote tumor progression and treatment failure. Herein, a Pd/Pt/Au tri‐metallic mesoporous nanoparticle coated with pH‐responsive tannic acid‐iron ion (FeIIITA) network (PdPtAu@TF) is fabricated, aiming at reinforcing radioimmunotherapy by reprogramming nutrients and redox metabolisms. PdPtAu@TF has a fine hierarchical structure and demonstrates high glucose oxidase, peroxidase‐, catalase‐ and glutathione peroxidase‐mimic activities, acting as a self‐enhancing nanoreactor to consume endogenous glucose and break redox homeostasis in the harsh TME. As a result, cancer cells accelerate the uptake of lipids, especially polyunsaturated fatty acids when glucose is deficient, and then fall into lipid peroxidation‐induced ferroptosis trap to sensitize radiotherapy (RT), inhibiting tumor progression. More significantly, combined treatment with PdPtAu@TF can promote the polarization of pro‐inflammatory M1‐type macrophages as well as inhibit the proliferation of cancer‐associated fibroblasts to overcome RT‐induced immunosuppression and eliminate excessive tissue fibrosis, thereby eliciting antitumor immunity and suppressing tumor metastasis. Consequently, this study describes a promising strategy to enhance the efficacy of radioimmunotherapy by reprogramming tumor nutrients and redox metabolisms, which has great potential to benefit cancer treatments. Regional tourism with urban agglomeration as the spatial carrier has become one of the flow characteristics of many tourists. Tourists visiting multiple cities at one time will certainly gain more value than visiting one city, but they will also pay more costs, thus affecting their emotions and willingness to travel. But the mechanism and theoretical boundaries have not been clarified. Based on the cognitive–affective–behavioral attitude model and the customer-delivered-value model, this paper takes the tourism destination tourists of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area urban agglomeration as samples to explore the influence mechanism of tourists' perceived functional value, social value and knowledge value on positive emotion and travel intention, and to test the moderating mediating effect of monetary cost, energy cost and psychological cost on positive emotion. Social value and knowledge value positively affect travel intention. Functional value, knowledge value and social value positively affect positive emotion, and positive emotion positively affect travel intention. Positive emotion plays a complete mediating role between functional value, social value and travel intention, and plays a partial mediating role between knowledge value and travel intention. Monetary cost, energy cost and psychological cost respectively moderate the mediating effect of positive emotion between functional value and travel intention. Psychological cost moderates the mediating effect of positive emotion between social value and travel intention. Monetary cost and psychological cost respectively moderate the mediating effect of positive emotion between knowledge value and travel intention. Differences in the impact of consumers' perceived value at different levels on positive emotion and travel intentions. It opens up the differences in the effects of the interaction of different levels of perceived value and different types of perceived cost on positive emotion. From an empirical point of view, it is proved that the tourism boutique line design based on multicity destination combination in China is feasible as a method to promote tourism integration and regional tourism brand building. The purpose of this study is to identify changes in consumption strategies in the civil engineering market in a hedonic context. To assess the attitude of consumers to a certain type of civil engineering technology, a multicomponent methodological approach to the characterization of goods based on a survey of consumers was used. The key trends in the development of the European Union, Chinese and Russian civil engineering market for 2010–19 are analyzed. The designation of four 'green' strategies for the behavior of end consumers regarding hedonic adaptation in the civil engineering market is proposed: eco-efficient, environmentally friendly, energy-saving and intellectual-content one. Information and communication technology talents are a new type of talents that only emerge with the rapid development of technology in the 21st century. Noble metal‐based nanomaterials have attracted tremendous attention in biomedical applications due to their unique electrical, optical, and chemical properties, playing crucial roles in the ultrasensitive detection of biomarkers, bioimaging, cancer therapy, etc. Especially, porous noble metal‐based nanomaterials show superior performance due to the large specific area and multiple active sites. Platforms constructed from porous noble metal‐based nanomaterials are emerging as highly promising tools for various biomedical applications. Herein, the properties and synthesis strategies of porous noble metal‐based nanomaterials are briefly introduced. Then the recent progress of porous noble metal‐based nanomaterials in the biomedical field is highlighted, focusing primarily on their applications in optics, electrochemistry, and mass spectrometry. Finally, the challenges related to fabrication and biocompatibility for their applications while also providing an outlook on their widespread use in clinical situations are discussed. Brain metastases originating from lung adenocarcinoma (LAD) occur frequently. The aim of the current study was to assess potential biomarkers for the prognosis of lung adenocarcinoma brain metastasis (LAD-BM) through the analysis of gene expression microarrays. The current study downloaded two gene expression datasets, GSE14108 and GSE10245, from the Gene Expression Omnibus database. From GSE14108 and GSE10245, 19 LAD-BM samples and 40 primary LAD samples were selected for analysis. To identify the differentially expressed genes (DEGs), the current study compared the two sample groups, using the limma R package. Subsequently, pathway enrichment analysis was conducted using the Cluster Profiler R package, and the construction of the protein-protein interaction (PPI) network was executed utilizing the Search Tool for the Retrieval of Interacting Genes database. The microRNA-target network was built using the TargetScore R package. Then, these networks were established and visualized using Cytoscape software. An array of 463 DEGs was identified in the LAD-BM samples, including 256 upregulated and 207 downregulated genes. Based on functional term enrichment analysis using the Gene Ontology database and signaling pathway enrichment analysis using the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes database, it was identified that the overlapping DEGs were primarily involved in chemokine-associated signal transduction, which may mediate lung cancer cell metastasis to the brain. Chemokine ligand 2, lysozyme, matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2), lysyl oxidase (LOX) and granzyme B were identified as potential biomarkers according to a topological analysis of the PPI networks. Two notable nodes, MMP-2 and LOX, appeared in the PPI network and were key points in the microRNA-target network, as they were regulated by hsa-let-7d. Many DEGs and microRNAs were regarded as prognostic biomarkers for lung adenocarcinoma metastasis in the current study. Long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) HLA complex P5 (HCP5) is correlated with multiple diseases, especially cancers. However, it remains to be further studied whether HCP5 is involved in the malignant behaviors of gliomas. This study is aimed at investigating the role and regulation mechanisms of HCP5 in gliomas. HCP5 expression in glioma tumor tissues and its association with glioma patients' survival were analyzed based on RNA-sequencing data. The expression of HCP5 was also examined in glioma cells. Then, HCP5 was downregulated in U251 cells and/or primary glioblastoma cells to explore its effects on cell proliferation and migration. The influence of HCP5 downregulation on tumor growth was confirmed in xenograft mice. About the mechanism, we investigated whether HCP5 functioned via interacting with microRNA- (miR-) 205 and regulating vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A) expression in gliomas. Results showed that HCP5 upregulation was found in glioma tissues and cell lines. Patients with high HCP5 expression showed lower survival probability and shorter survival time. HCP5 downregulation inhibited cell proliferation and migration and mitigated tumor growth. miR-205 was downregulated in glioma cells. Knockdown of HCP5 led to miR-205 upregulation and VEGF-A downregulation. miR-205 overexpression exhibited the similar effects as HCP5 downregulation on cell viability and proliferation. And VEGF-A overexpression could reverse the effects of HCP5 downregulation on cell viability and proliferation, as well as tumor growth. Diatoms exhibit high solar energy harvesting efficiency due to their remarkably organized, hierarchical micro/nanoporous, light-trapping, and scattering frustules. At present, few studies focus on cosensitization of natural near-infrared dye to expand the spectral response of dye-sensitized solar cells. In this study, the diatom frustule-TiO2 (12 : 5) composite film was prepared and assembled it on the TiO2 electrode. Compared to the single TiO2 layer film, diatom frustule-TiO2 (12 : 5) composite film sensitized by diatom's dye showed the conversion efficiency of 0.719%. To expand the light-harvesting response to near-infrared region spectra, the cosensitized dyes were used to fabricate the visible-near-infrared responsive dye-sensitized solar cells. The cosensitization diatom frustule-TiO2 (12 : 5) composite film exhibited two distinct absorption bands in the near-infrared region and reached a higher conversion efficiency of 1.321%, which was approximately 1.4 or 1.7 folds higher than that of cosensitization double-TiO2 film or single TiO2 layer film, respectively, and approximately 3.7 or 1.7 folds higher than that of the single TiO2 layer film sensitized by diatom dye or purple bacterial dye, respectively. The results showed that the combination between diatom frustule-TiO2 with cosensitization natural dyes could significantly improve the photoelectric performance of visible-near-infrared responsive dye-sensitized solar cells. 50 nm ceramic membrane and 100 kD and 10 kD organic membrane were used to separate the reconstitution tobacco extract, the obtained fractions were analyzed by GC-MS analysis, principal component analysis of volatile components, evaluation cigarette paper flavoring, and particle composition analysis of flavoring cigarette smoke. The results showed that 68, 45, 45, 7 and 36 volatile components were detected in the unseparated component ( M0), 50 nm ceramic membrane interception component (M2), 100 kD organic membrane interception component ( M4), 10 kD organic membrane permeation component ( M5) and 10 kD organic membrane interception component ( M6), respectively, and the total volatile components were 1 109.03 µg/mL, 1 042. 14 µg/mL, 828. 02 µg/mL,92. 00 µg/mL,762. 42 µg/mL, widely existing in the five components were nicotine, 2,2'-meth-ylene bis-(4-methyl-6-tert-butylpheno. The unique components of M5 were 2-ethylhexanol and cis-1-(cyclohexylm-ethyl) -4-ethyl cyclohexane. The results of principal component analysis of M5 component were similar to M2 to a certain extent, but there were obvious differences with the other three components. The main components that affected the flavor of M5 were 2-ethylhexanol, cis-1-(cyclohexylmethyl)-4-ethyl cyclohexane. When M5 were added to cigarette paper, the sensory evaluation effect of cigarette was the best, the phenolic, alkane and benzene components in the smoked significantly increased, and the individual flavor components ( such as methyl cyclopen-taenol ketone, (+)-vanorene, etc. ) also increased, which had a significant flavoring effect. Understanding the molecular mechanism of glioma is very important for the diagnosis and treatment of glioma. Recently, a new study illustrated that KLF11 could be a potential prognostic and diagnostic biomarker in glioma, but the critical role is not illustrated. In this study, we found that KLF11 was highly expressed in glioma cancer tissues and cells, and KLF11 high expression of glioblastoma (GBM) and lower‐grade glioma (LGG) were correlated with poorer overall survival and disease‐free survival percentages. KLF11 knockdown inhibited glioma cell proliferation and migration, while KLF11 overexpression enhanced cell proliferation and migration. In vivo, knockdown of KLF11 reduced the tumor size of glioma. With regard to the molecular regulatory mechanism, we clarified that the Holliday junction recognition protein (HJURP) was positively regulated by KLF11. Meanwhile, we demonstrated that HJURP knockdown also inhibited glioma carcinoma progression. Overexpression of HJURP rescued the suppressed proliferation and migration function of glioma cells with depletion of KLF11. Therefore, our study demonstrated the function of KLF11 in glioma and showed KLF11 and HJURP could be prognostic and diagnostic markers in glioma, which provides a new insight of glioma therapy. Although mass spectrometry (MS) of metabolites has the potential to provide real‐time monitoring of patient status for diagnostic purposes, the diagnostic application of MS is limited due to sample treatment and data quality/reproducibility. Here, the generation of a deep stabilizer for ultra‐fast, label‐free MS detection and the application of this method for serum metabolic diagnosis of coronary heart disease (CHD) are reported. Nanoparticle‐assisted laser desorption/ionization‐MS is used to achieve direct metabolic analysis of trace unprocessed serum in seconds. Furthermore, a deep stabilizer is constructed to map native MS results to high‐quality results obtained by established methods. Finally, using the newly developed protocol and diagnosis variation characteristic surface to characterize sensitivity/specificity and variation, CHD is diagnosed with advanced accuracy in a high‐throughput/speed manner. This work advances design of metabolic analysis tools for disease detection as it provides a direct label‐free, ultra‐fast, and stabilized platform for future protocol development in clinics. Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is the most common microvascular complication of diabetes and ranks as the fifth leading cause of visual impairment, but an understanding of DR development has been hampered by the lack of an efficient metabolomic tool. Herein, vanadium core–shell nanorods are developed for metabolic fingerprinting to probe molecular variation in DR. First, a series of vanadium core–shells are constructed with different elemental composition and structural parameters, using silica nanorods to support vanadium oxide. The plasma metabolic fingerprints (MFs) are extracted by the optimized vanadium core–shell nanorod‐assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry, by analyzing 500 nL of native plasma in seconds. As a result, DR patients are differentiated from non DR controls with a sensitivity of 94% and specificity of 90% using a classification model built on the plasma MFs. Furthermore, DR progression is monitored by a panel of plasma metabolic signatures with gradual changes. This work provides an advanced molecular tool for the metabolomic characterization of DR and may guide the clinical decision making in DR for personalized medicine in the future. The long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) AWPPH, also termed microRNA-4435-2HG, has been associated with the poor prognosis of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and has been demonstrated to promote the progression of HCC and bladder cancer. The present study aimed to investigate the role of lncRNA AWPPH in glioma. The expression levels of AWPPH in tumor tissues obtained from patients with glioma and in plasma samples obtained from patients with glioma and healthy controls were detected by reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction. The plasma levels of transforming growth factor (TGF)-β1 were measured by an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. An AWPPH expression vector was transfected into human glioma cell lines. Subsequently, cancer cell migration and invasion were assessed by Transwell migration and invasion assays, respectively. The expression of TGF-β1 in the transfected-glioma cells was detected by western blot analysis. It was identified that AWPPH expression levels in tumor tissues were higher in patients with metastatic glioma; however, no significant differences in AWPPH expression were revealed between patients with different tumor sizes. The plasma levels of AWPPH were positively correlated with the plasma levels of TGF-β1 in patients with glioma but not in healthy controls. In addition, AWPPH overexpression enhanced cancer cell migration and invasion, and upregulated TGF-β1 expression. Treatment with TGF-β1 demonstrated no significant effect on AWPPH expression; however, a TGF-β inhibitor attenuated the effects of AWPPH overexpression on cell migration and invasion. Green finance is essential for supporting the development of green, low-carbon projects and preventing environmental and climate financial risks. Investigating and studying whether and how it can aid in implementing energy transformation is worthwhile. This paper uses 30 provinces from 2004 to 2020 as research samples, the entropy method to construct a green finance measurement system, and the weighted multidimensional vector angle index method to construct an energy low-carbon transformation index based on the actual situation of green finance in China and the existing theoretical research basis. We systematically analyzed each province's spatiotemporal evolution characteristics of green finance and energy structure transformation by constructing a fixed effect model, a GMM model, an intermediary effect model, and a spatial Dubin model. We empirically tested the effect direction, internal mechanism, spatial spillover, and regional heterogeneity of green finance development (GFD) on energy structure transformation (EST) to investigate the low-carbon transformation of energy structures. The findings indicate the following:(1) Green finance plays a positive role in promoting the transformation and development of China's energy structure. (2) The influence of green finance development on the transformation of China's energy structure has significant spatial spillover, exhibiting "local and neighborhood" reciprocity. Through the spatial spillover effect, green finance can encourage the low-carbon transformation of local energy structures and increase the level of low-carbon transformation in neighboring areas. (3) The improvement of the level of green technology innovation and the intensity of environmental regulations are essential channels for green finance to support the low-carbon transformation of the energy structure, and regional heterogeneity will alter this transmission mechanism. The findings of this study provide empirical evidence for the vital role of green finance in achieving the double dividend of economic growth and low-carbon emission reduction. This study provides a new perspective for constructing a green finance system and advancing the dual-carbon objective and a resource for formulating effective regional energy transformation policies. Malignant gliomas are highly lethal cancers worldwide as tumor cells infiltrate to healthy brain tissue invariably. Histone demethylase KDM5A as an oncogene or tumor suppressor in cancer still has been controversial. KDM5A may have a different function in different type cancer cells. However, the specific roles of KDM5A in the progression of glioma remain undiscovered. In this study, we found that compared with primary glioma, metastasis glioma had low KDM5A levels. Besides, lower KDM5A levels were linked to poor survival in glioma cancer patients, indicating that KDM5A is a new prognostic marker for glioma cancer. KDM5A knockdown increases the invasive abilities of glioma cancer cells and changes the EMT markers. A mechanism, KDM5A suppressing the expression of ZEB1, and its catalytic activity is indispensable for anti-invasive function. Our study revealed that histone demethylase KDM5A exerts anti-invasiveness function partly through repressing oncogenic ZEB1 expression by mediating H3K4 demethylation. We also demonstrate that ZEB1 play a crucial role in KDM5A induced function. In summary, in this study, we showed that KDM5A has a crucial role in glioma and therefore may serve as a novel therapeutic target and prognostic marker in glioma. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

On-site screening of diabetes and precise diagnosis of diabetic complications may provide a conduit for early intervention and disease burden reduction. However, stratified metabolic analysis needs designed materials for colorimetric detection of targeted biomarkers and direct metabolic fingerprinting of the native blood. Here, an advanced dual-modal nanoplatform is constructed based on PdPtAu alloys, which serve both as the nanoenzymes in colorimetric sensing for targeted metabolite quantitation and as matrix in laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry for untargeted metabolic fingerprinting. The platform achieved rapid glucose quantitation toward point-of-care testing of 27 participants and identified diabetic retinopathy from diabetic population with a sensitivity and specificity of 84.6%. We further assessed the generalizability of the nanoplatform for real-case applications, through the captured digital images and computing resources equipped in smartphones. A method to improve the performance of hot water flooding in a hydrate bearing layer (HBL) is proposed. The development approach involves a horizontal production well completed by sliding sleeves and one vertical injection well. The horizontal section of the production well is first opened to yield a high production rate. As the gas production reduces to a certain degree, staged production from the toe to the heel is conducted by opening and closing the sliding sleeves. Subsequently, particle swarm optimization is coupled with a simulator to optimize the primary adjustable parameters. Furthermore, the proposed approach is compared with an un-staged approach and Sasaki's approach. The results indicate that the optimal injected water temperature is 51.3 °C considering both energy efficiency and recovery. The optimal distance between the horizontal wellbore and the top of the HBL is approximately 1/3 of the reservoir thickness, and the unperforated interval of the injection well should cover the upper 2/3 of the HBL. Based on the same injected heat, the proposed approach can improve cumulative gas production by 25.6%, 14.4%, and 39.1% compared with the un-staged approach, Sasaki's approaches 1 and 2, respectively. • A novel staged production method in HBLs is proposed. • A coupled model of the PSO and STARS module is built. • The primary adjustable parameters are optimized. • The effectiveness of the proposed method is proved. Conventional thermal stimulation methods require a tremendous investment on in surface heating facilities and a sustained investment in continuous heat injection. Using a heat exchange well to deliver geothermal energy via carbon dioxide or water provides a way to greatly reduce the heat injection cost. However, hydrate bearing layers are often found in harsh natural environments (offshore or continental permafrost), where access to and transportation of heat-delivery media are extremely challenging. Therefore, this paper proposes to boost hydrate recovery with geothermal energy delivered through dumpflooding and a coupled numerical model is built to evaluate the performance of the new method. The results indicate that the hydrate dissociation and gas production are greatly enhanced due to the high temperature of the water flowing from the geothermal reservoir to the hydrate bearing layer; therefore, the feasibility of utilizing the dumpflooding method to exploit hydrate bearing layers is proved. Analyses of influential factors suggest that the pore volumes of hydrothermal reservoirs affect both the rate and temperature of water flowing from the hydrothermal reservoir to the hydrate bearing layer. Higher hydrothermal reservoir temperatures and pressures are favorable for hydrate recovery. Nevertheless, energy efficiency drops as the pore volumes, temperature and pressure of hydrothermal reservoirs increase. Detection of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in patient's blood is an important approach to cancer diagnosis and prognosis, but has been challenging due to the rarity of cells. Here, a magnetic‐enhanced capturing of CTCs onto a plasmonic gold (pGOLD) chip, through a microfluidic immunomagnetic method, is demonstrated. Owing to the squashed/flattened morphology of cancer cells by magnetic forces and the resulting close proximity of near‐infrared (NIR) labels on cells to the pGOLD surface, an ultrahigh NIR fluorescence enhancement of ≈50–120‐fold is observed, drastically enhancing the ability of CTC detection, imaging, and analysis. Fluorescence enhanced, multiplexed protein biomarkers detection of CTCs is conducted for cancer cell spiked samples as well as CTCs in cancer patient's blood. Low CTC concentrations are detected down to ≈1 cell mL−1 with capture efficiency up to ≈90%. Mechanical manipulation of cells by magnetic and other forces on plasmonic substrates represents a promising approach to ultrasensitive bio‐analytical applications. Magnetic "squashing" of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) on plasmonic substrates is achieved for ultrasensitive near‐infrared (NIR) fluorescence detection. Owing to the squashed/flattened morphology of cells by magnetic forces and the resulting close proximity of NIR labels to the pGOLD surface, an ultrahigh NIR fluorescence enhancement of ≈50–120‐fold is observed, drastically enhancing the ability of CTC detection, imaging, and analysis.
