We show that diffractive production in ultra-peripheral high-energy collisions in small-x region provides a unique opportunity to discriminate among saturation and non-saturation models. We study the di-photon correlations in quark-nucleus and proton-nucleus collisions at RHIC and the LHC.We show that the single fragmentation di-photon produces the away side correlations peak, and the double fragmentation component of prompt diphoton is responsible for the near-side peak, and the long-range in rapidity near-side azimuthal collimation, the so-called "ridge" structure. We show that while di-photon ridge exists at the LHC in quark-nucleus collisions, the effect disappears in proton-nucleus collisions at the LHC.We show that the di-photon correlation measurments in p+A collisions can help to discriminate among models and understand the true origin of the observed dihadron ridge in p+A collisions. We confront soft Pomeron and gluon saturation models with the first LHC data on inclusive hadron production. We claim that while the first type of models are not able to describe some part of the LHC data, the Colour-Glass-Condensate (gluon saturation) approach gives an adequate description of the data. Here, we compare our published predictions with the recently available 7 TeV data. The diquark and nucleon are studied in a non-local NJL model. We solve the relativistic Faddeev equation and compare the results with the ordinary NJL model. Although the model is quark confining, it is not diquark confining in the rainbow-ladder approximation. We show that the off-shell contribution to the diquark T matrix is crucial for the structure of the nucleon: without its inclusion the attraction in the scalar channel is too weak to form a three-body bound state.
