Despite the growing importance of mobile social commerce (Ms-commerce), little research has been conducted on the effects of informational-related factors on Ms-commerce and the role of trust in user willingness to share their experiences. Drawing on the Information Adoption Model, we examine the effect of information usefulness, quality, credibility, and need on information adoption and the effect of information adoption on trust and willingness to share Ms-commerce experience. Using data from 280 UK Ms-commerce users, we applied Partial-Least-Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) to test the model. The findings show that informational-related factors have a significant and positive impact on Ms-commerce information adoption. Moreover, the effect of information adoption on trust and willingness to share Ms-commerce experiences was found to be significant. More importantly, this study has also yielded support for the mediating role of trust on the relationship between information adoption and willingness to share Ms-commerce experiences. Research Question Professional advocates play an important role in influencing public policy through collective action and connective action enabled by their representative associations and social media. Through these voices, policymakers receive input and information from those who are often at the front line in dealing with public problems. The marketing discipline can assist policymakers in understanding the structure and behavior of markets and consumers and evaluating the responses to different government interventions (Trischler and Charles 2019). Electronic Word of Mouth (eWOM) is traditionally concerned with statements by potential, actual, or former customers about a product or company, which is made available to a wider audience via the Internet. There is a dearth of research on the use of social media for public health advocacy by health professionals and their representative associations, and the antecedents of eWOM in this context. This paper seeks to help address this gap. By doing so it addresses recent calls for more transdisciplinary research in social media and health advocacy research and provides greater understanding on the role of source characteristics and message characteristics on message engagement and amplification. Method And Data Hashtags have been widely used in the context of advocacy (Saxton et al. 2015), health communications (Xu et al. 2015), and activism (Yang 2016). This study investigates the antecedents of eWOM in the context of public health discussion on Twitter by leveraging a dataset of 4,322 tweets (1,790 original tweets, 226 replies, and 2,306 retweets) mentioning the hashtag #PutKids1st as generated by 1,231 unique users during the calendar year of 2018. Original tweets were manually coded by the research team using a grounded theory approach (Strauss and Corbin 1997). 29 micro-level topics were identified and grouped into seven higher level topics, namely (i) Health (429 tweets), (ii) Nutrition (21 tweets), (iii) Safety & Security (258 tweets), (iv) Caregiving (282 tweets), (v) Early Education (5 tweets), (vi) Human Rights (12 tweets), and (vii) Other (783 tweets). Data was coded by two independent coders. All the variables mentioned above were included in two OLS regression models that had the natural logarithm of one plus the number of replies received by a tweet and the natural logarithm of one plus the number of retweets received by a tweet. Summary of Findings Among the seven topics that were identified, Health (1,086 tweets), Caregiving (857 tweets) and Safety & Security (573 tweets) were the most prominent. However, 783 tweets (approx. 44% of the tweets in our sample) fell under the category "Other" and therefore could not be linked to any of the topics included in our coding framework. These messages mostly aimed to encourage people to vote or expressed messages of gratitude toward pediatricians and healthcare professionals more generally. Human Rights (39 tweets), Nutrition (38 tweets) and Early Education (14 tweets) only featured on a limited number of tweets. Within the three prominent accounts 6 topics, access to healthcare, keeping families together and gun control were significant topics of discourse. The results suggest that the only significant factor that had an impact on the number of replies received by a tweet was the Early Education topic. Key Contributions This paper proposes and tests a source-message framework as a model for assessing the effectiveness of professional advocacy and electronic word-of-mouth. This paper provides insights into how advocacy campaigns and messaging can be designed and coordinated to optimize engagement and re-transmission, and as a result increase reach. Kraft and Furlong (2019) define public problems as "conditions the public widely perceives to be unacceptable and that therefore require intervention." Professional advocates play an important role in influencing public policy through collective action and connective action enabled by their representative association and social media. Professional advocates, such as the AAP and their members, represent both an opportunity to leverage and a risk to mitigate. While stakeholders, such as pediatricians have predictable interests, the altruistic nature of those interests combined with their position in society limits potential counterarguments from policymakers and public health communicators. It is extremely difficult to argue with the proposition that society should put kids 1st. The use of the #putkids1st slogan and hashtag by the AAP and pediatricians provides useful theoretical and practical insights for public health communicators and policymakers seeking to achieve societal consensus and bridge political divides. Blockchain technology has been claimed to have the potential to disrupt a large number of industries. Despite all the hype around it, blockchain remains at a nascent state. In the early stage of the development of an IT innovation, its success is to a degree contingent on building legitimacy around it. This seems to be particularly relevant in the context of blockchain due to the questionable reputation that its most famous application, the bitcoin, has gained over time. This paper explores the usage of social media by four key actors in the blockchain ecosystem --media, IT, financial services and consulting firms -- over a calendar year and through the lens of 'organizing visions' to identify how these organizations are trying to legitimize blockchain. Our results show that these actors employ three primary legitimation micro-level strategies through two types of legitimation mechanisms -- advertising affiliations with influential field level actors (pragmatic legitimacy), describing positive market responses to blockchain and emphasizing its ongoing development (cognitive legitimacy), and describing characteristics of blockchain that are in alignment with current technological best practices (cognitive legitimacy). Information technology such as farm management mobile applications present many opportunities to the farming community including reducing paper work, streamlining compliance requirements and providing data backups. However, many family farmers continue to resist adoption of these technologies. In order to improve adoption and sustained usage of these mobile technologies, it is imperative to understand the factors driving adoption and continuance intentions among this group. This study adopts a sequential mixed methods approach combing UTAUT with continuance intention models to examine the predictors of adoption and continuance intention among users and non-users of a mobile farm management application. This study highlights the importance of social influence in initial adoption decisions and the relevance of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use for increasing intentions to continue use of the application. The growing pervasiveness of technology enables the collection of copious volumes of personal data which creates risks for consumer privacy and makes data protection increasingly complex for organizations. The difficulties facing organizations are further exasperated by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which introduces stringent requirements for gaining consent, communicating privacy practices, and transparency. Furthermore, consumers' current lack of privacy knowledge can heighten privacy concerns. This study aims to (1) build consumer privacy knowledge and (2) assist organizations in gaining explicit consent and communicating their privacy practices to current and potential customers, through the development of a GDPR privacy label. The paper contributes to practice by providing actionable guidelines for developing GDPR compliant privacy notices and advances privacy literature by extending the privacy knowledge gap model and testing the effectiveness of the GDPR label in improving consumers' privacy knowledge thereby building self-efficacy and enabling informed decision making. This session introduces the swarm methodology and discusses its viability as a qualitative approach to research involving large, ephemeral events. It will also encourage interdisciplinary relationship-building and the elaboration of applications of the swarm methodology by integrating ideas from diverse fields including marketing, international business, organizational behavior, strategy, and social issues. This collaborative caucus session will invite attendees to identify potential swarm targets and research programs, ideally resulting in the conceptualization and seeding of at least one new swarm project (Steps 1 and 2 of the swarm research process; see Kilker, 2009; Exploring a new methodology: Background, planning and lessons from the 2007 tradeshow 'swarm' project). Trust is widely regarding as being foundational in human relationships. The violation of interpersonal trust results in a range of negative affective, cognitive and behavioural consequences for the injured party. Research has yet to isolate the specific neural areas and mechanisms activated when different types of interpersonal trust are breached. Using electroencephalogram, we tracked the effects of three distinct types of trust violations, ability violation, integrity violation and benevolence violations, on brain activation. Our results identify the significance of the default mode network (DNM) in trust violation and further isolated distinct activation patterns for ability, integrity and benevolence trust violation. These findings highlight the importance of the DMN in processing cues regarding the trustworthiness of others and the distinctiveness of the processing of violation cues of the three facets of trustworthiness.
