This study addresses the high delinquency rates and inefficient accounts receivable management in consulting firms. Using diagnostic tools such as Value Stream Mapping (VSM), problem tree analysis, and the Ishikawa diagram, critical factors affecting collections management were identified. An agile collections management model is proposed, involving process standardization and the implementation of a Kanban board, designed to be seamlessly integrated into daily company operations. The fundamental contribution of this work is the establishment of a clear and efficient workflow that significantly improves the collections process from the sale of the service to the effective collection of payments. This model was initially tested in a digital transformation consulting services company, where remarkable results were achieved. The outcomes demonstrated a 28% reduction in the delinquency rate due to the implementation of the proposed model. Other key performance indicators include a decrease in the average collection period, an increase in the proportion of clients making timely payments, and a reduction in the frequency of documentation errors. The concepts of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma have been applied in manufacturing companies with greater frequency. However, there are few records of its implementation in companies in the service sector. This sector in Peru represents more than 50.6% of the country's Gross Domestic Product and it is composed mainly of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Nevertheless, this kind of businesses are characterized by having low productivity, lack of organization and monitoring of performance indicators to make good decisions. Therefore, different techniques are required to maintain their efficiency and productivity over time to meet the expectations of the consumers. In this research, the objective is to propose a management model by applying Lean Six Sigma in order to improve the performance of an SME in the professional services sector. Through the DMAIC process, a diagnosis of the company was carried out, finding the root causes of its main problems, Lean tools such as 5s and virtual Kanban were applied in a pilot test in the organization. After implementation, 100% efficiency was obtained, a productivity improvement of 75.56% and a decrease in order delivery time of 42.30%. Finally, the pilot test was validated using a statistical analysis of variance test and demonstrated consistency with the management model applying lean six sigma. Dealing with production planning and scheduling in modern production networks becomes more and more complex. Globalization and mass customization are two megatrends influencing this trend especially in automotive suppliers' industry due to the high internationality of plants and factory of an industrial company as well as the heterogeneous product portfolio. However, there are some tools, methods and principles which can counteract this trends and help making production planning more agile digital. During this paper, a digital and automated Kanban solution will be implemented at a certain process in an automotive supplier's plant. To make the effects visible, the current process and its weaknesses are visualized in a value stream map of the current situation with conventional Kanban planning during the Analysis phase. Thus, the future, optimized value stream with the use of a digital and automated Kanban solution is designed and mentioned in the results. In summary, the introduction of this Kanban solution can lower the costs of the planning process. In the example used in this paper, the total costs for this quantity of Kanban can be decreased by over 50%. Further, other weaknesses of this process could be erased as well. Recent events have taught us that change can occur with surprising speed. Those who had the ability to adapt to these changes continued to operate and succeed. The success of these companies was determined, among other things, by the speed of reaction to change. The rapid changes in the market impose an increasingly acute need for a marketing activity that is more agile by the day, translated into a reaction to change at least as fast by marketers. The competitive advantage belongs to those marketers and brands who can plan faster, experiment more effectively, and constantly adapt in order to accelerate success. Today's society has become much too complex to be stabilised, structured and forecasted so agile marketing is quickly becoming a requirement for successful business operations. Agile marketing is a new approach in the field of marketing management based on a series of practices aimed at solving the rigidities of traditional marketing. Agile marketing is the current way of doing marketing in volatile markets with informed consumers and fast-reacting competition. Agile principles can support companies of any size by allowing large projects to be broken down into distinct units, continuous improvement of results, and rapid adaptation in response to internal or external environment changes. The commercial sector in Peru is one of the most influential sectors in its economy, representing a percentage of 17.8% of GDP. Although this sector has a lot of influence, it also has a big problem, which is its level of service, which greatly affects companies, economically and their customers. One of the causes of this problem is the inadequate management of inventories in the warehouses of the companies, causing non-fulfillment of orders, reorders, among other things. Therefore, the objective of this research is to demonstrate that the implementation of Lean Warehousing, Kanban and BPM tools are useful to increase the level of service of trading companies, minimizing the number of reorders, the time to search for products in the warehouse, improving inventory management in the warehouse. In addition, in order to validate this proposal, the BPM tool was simulated, using the Arena software, in the warehouse area, which resulted in an increase in the availability of the operators, from 65% to 90%. Many Manufacturing Flow Control Techniques (MFCTs) have been proposed, and selecting an appropriate one to implement can be challenging. Comparing their performances could also be tricky because, by design, many are not likely to perform similarly under different conditions. This work aggregates and maps the MFCTs to a standard planning and control artefact to provide guidance on selection and implementation of the techniques. It builds on a previously published work. The hermeneutics double loop review procedure with snowballing approach was the overarching method, initiated using partial umbrella review. The product-process matrix was used as the basis for alignment of the MFCTs to the manufacturing processes. MFCTs were summarised into a few groups using the characteristics of the production system, products and demand pattern. Mapping the groups to the product-process matrix enhances the selection of appropriate control techniques for manufacturing environments. It also helps in anticipating the performance of the techniques under specified manufacturing conditions. Leading MFCTs and their notable variations considered to be representative of others were selected based on literature. All variants were grouped using characteristics considered important from literature. There may be some other ways of creating the groups. The only work known to have linked the MFCTs to processes was published in 1989, and there has been many new techniques and variants of existing ones since then. This work expands on this foundation to provide a more comprehensive mapping, thereby helping researchers and practitioners to achieve a more structured implementation of the techniques and compare their performances. This research work sought to apply the Lean Manufacturing methodology, with the purpose of improving productivity in the finishing area of a rubber company. It has been observed that, in this area, there is a low productivity, due to an absence of a culture of order and cleanliness, and a lack of production control. The application of Lean tools showed a substantial increase in productivity (from 56.47% to 75.86%), this achieving a progress of 34.33% in the finishing area. In addition, in relation to efficiency, the use of average man-hours will be improved from 75.30% to 87.90%, resulting in an improvement of 16.74%. And, according to the efficacy, an increase was found in the quantities produced, on average, which went from a value of 74.99% to 86.3%, this resulting in an increase of 15.07% in the production of 3S 200 mm rings. The textile industry in the last decade has considerably increased its competitiveness worldwide, being one of the most influential in the Peruvian economy. For this reason, it is necessary for textile workshops to maintain high productivity, and to be more efficient, making the most of resources in their production. Therefore, the objective of this research is to improve productivity and have better results with little investment, since the textile sector mainly has micro and small companies (SMEs) that occupy a large part of the market, as the company in the present case study. To do this, through the tools of Kanban, 5S and Systematic Layout Planning (SLP), they were implemented in the company to achieve the established objective. Thus, when implementing the 5S, it was possible to obtain better results in terms of a more orderly and clean work area, which allows workers to be more productive and have a better work environment. In the case of SLP, the relational diagram method was carried out and a simulation was carried out using the ARENA software, which had an increase in productivity by reducing the time to carry out a work order of 1400 T-shirts. To consider the problematic field of digital didactics, we propose the use of Agile technology in modern educational conditions, since this technology is successfully used to manage cognitive activity in the digital space. This methodology seems to be one of the most effective in solving the problem of preparing students, increasing their employment opportunities, creating conditions for the formation of “soft skills” that are in demand in modern conditions of digitalization of education. The study aims to analyse and explore the applicability of the Agile ideology in digital didactics in the era of the VUCA world in education; to determine the degree of teachers' readiness to build their digital educational process using the Agile tool; to determine the effectiveness of distance learning at university through the application of the Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban). Research methods are collection and analysis of scientific publications devoted to the study of the features of Agile technologies, the possibilities of their application in the educational process; observing students' work according to the approaches of Agile methodology using the system of LMS MOODLE. The Agile approach in education allows achieving goals with less effort and expense, in a shorter time, and the final product is of higher quality. A lot of companies lost money because they chose the wrong software development methodology. For example, Knight Capital Group lost $440 million in 30 minutes when its trading software flooded the market with erratic trades. The bug was the result of a faulty development cycle that did not account for communication about possible errors and adequate testing before the product was launched. That's why choosing the right system and style of management is the key to successful software development. Today, we have many approaches, and they all have their advantages and disadvantages. It's a difficult and crucial task for future or ongoing projects to choose the most suitable strategy as well as define objectives, budget, and deadlines. The following article analyses the main differences and characteristics of the most popular software development methodologies with emphasis on performance, meeting deadlines, and team morale. The results are synthesized from a survey completed by more than 100 IT&C domain professionals based on their expertise and will be interpreted using a statistical approach. The objective of this study is to determine which methodologies tend to produce the best results regarding the team's main goals. It was targeted a wide array of IT professionals, emphasizing their experience level in the industry, regarding both the time in which they applied a certain methodology to a project and how applying it affected the project's success. Through this research, we hope to provide a clearer view of the outcome of the usage of different methodologies in various endeavors, so that, before starting a software development project, the best way for organizing it will be chosen. In times of globalization and digitalization of the world, a good preparation for sustainability is necessary. Agile forms of organization as well as agile mindset are essential and serve as a foundation for a sustainable implementation. This scientific work examines the factors influencing the success of agile working. Four selected current studies on agile working were analyzed in order to gain first insights for the research regarding the current state of the success factors in agile working and the scaling possibilities. Central results of the research are that agile working is used to a large extent in software development or in softwarerelated development. Agile working differs between industries, but there are many intersections and similarities in the application of agile working. The influencing factors are presented and thus an essential basis for the practical application of agile methods is created. The vertiginous growth experienced in the use of mobile devices is evidenced in that 53% of the population in Latin America uses the internet through any technological equipment; At the same time, it has meant that e-learning in the field of teaching promotes the appearance of m-learning in turn with the availability of millions of applications for the end user. However, there is no Standardized Methodology under which such mobile applications are built. This research aims to propose a set of guidelines and techniques that facilitate the design and construction of web-based mobile applications for mobile devices. In order to achieve this objective, a methodology is proposed which consists of experimenting with source collections, designed for PC web pages, making an evaluation and carrying out a standardization, so that in the end valid guidelines are obtained for learning objects based on Web for mobile devices. The universities in Bulgaria operate in a very dynamic environment. The Ministry of Education and Science (MES) changes annually the requirements that their systems must meet. Changes can be small and affect only parts of the information systems in use or impose fundamental changes. To cope with this challenge, each university has a choice - either to move to a high level of digitalization or to maintain a minimum digitization of processes, so that no correction is needed in them, thus increasing the hours of work in which there are minimal automation. Developed universities are looking to increase digitalization, but the high cost of custom software products may be an obstacle here. The value of purchasing and maintaining complex software product would be a burden on the budget even for the largest universities in the country. This publication describes a model for dealing with this problem - the establishing of a department within the university, which has the freedom to work, both on internal and external projects. The positions and roles required for the operation of such a model are described. Different methodologies for software development are analysed - waterfall model, agile development, Kanban etc. Their strengths and weaknesses are pointed out so a proper combination is chosen to meet the needs of the customers and to suit the capabilities of the department. In order to demonstrate the results of the mentioned model, couple successfully developed, implemented and maintained projects are listed, as well as the deadlines that have been set in them. Kanban is an agile and lean process methodology that is growing in use across a number of domains, including software development. While the use of the process methodology has been growing, the ability to track team member contributions when using Kanban has been noted as a gap in the methodology. This research starts to address this gap by creating a prototype application that visualizes the contribution of individual team members within the Kanban team. The visualizations are then evaluated via a case study. Initial results suggest that the visualizations, which show the tasks done by week for each team member, were helpful in understand team member participation and that they were easy to understand and use. Recent research has noted the benefit of using Kanban, both within industry and for team-based student projects. Unfortunately, there has been minimal research on how to improve student learning of the Kanban process. This paper starts to address this gap by reporting on the results of an in-class experiment that explores how to implement a Kanban Coach (KC) for student teams that use Kanban. We first outline the key KC responsibilities and interaction mechanisms that enables the KC to efficiently guide student teams, and then report on the results of our experiment. Our results suggest that a KC can be implemented efficiently within an educational context, and that the use of a KC improves student learning and the quality of the team's project. Hence, our initial results suggest that the use a KC should be considered as part of the project support for student team-based projects and that a KC helps students internalize how to effectively use the Kanban process methodology. Dominance of agile methodologies triggered the need to include elements of agile methodologies in software engineering education. However, it turns out that finding convenient approach to practice agile methodologies in software engineering courses is not an easy task and could be full of pitfalls and obstacles. Based on the previous experiences and literature overview it can be concluded that it is not possible, or it could be extremely ineffective to use a methodology "as-is" in educational context, due to various problems in terms of course organization, work schedule and shortage of staff. Instead, method tailoring must be done, and the authors propose a method for a gentle introduction to agile methodologies by combining use of agile techniques like user stories and Kanban with continuous integration/deployment as one of the common engineering practices. The approach is a result of analysis of the mistakes from the past attempts and two semester long experiment conducted in authors' environment. The introduction to agile techniques could be done in an optional manner not obligating students to strictly follow it. They would not be graded for following it, as its purpose is that students should conclude that it could be useful to them and that it is not just another (from their perspective) useless obligation. This study reports implementation of an Agile teaching framework in two IT project management courses; the framework was created based on two Agile methodologies, Scrum and Kanban. The goals of this framework were to inspire a proactive learning approach in students, increase learner autonomy and accountability, and enhance collaboration among students. The courses were divided into two 6-week learning periods. During the first period, students followed a Scrum approach to learning and were given a learning backlog to be completed over three, 2-week learning sprints. In the 2nd period, a Kanban approach was followed, teams defined, teams rotated the role of "LearningMaster," and chose the pace at which they completed the learning goals. Surveys conducted at the end of the semester indicated that students perceived enhanced intrinsic motivation for learning and higher levels of satisfaction with learning process, perceived autonomy, purpose, and mastery of the topics discussed in the course. In introducing inventory control models, textbooks and journals rarely justify the use of Shortage and Backorder Costs, Cs and Cb, for their computation. This paper attempts to explain the rationale behind the use of these two costs by enacting a simple stock-out scenario. Since the inventory control literatures is largely classified into push or pull systems, one control system from each classification is selected for enactment: namely, the Traditional Kanban Control System (TKCS) - for pull; and the Base Stock (BS) - for push. Highly iterative development processes such as Kanban have gained significant importance in industry. However, the impact of such processes on team collaboration and communication is widely unknown. In this paper, we analyze how the Kanban process aids software team's behaviors - in particular, communication and collaboration. The team under study developed a mobile payment software product in six iterations over seven weeks. The data were collected by a questionnaire, repeated at the end of each iteration. The results indicate that Kanban has a positive effect at the beginning to get the team working together to identify and coordinate the work. Later phases, when the team members have established good rapport among them, the importance for facilitating team collaboration could not be shown. Results also indicate that Kanban helps team members to collectively identify and surface the missing tasks to keep the pace of the development harmonized across the whole team, resulting into increased collaboration. Nowadays, business environment is extremely dynamic and complex. Growing complexity trends mostly hits information and telecommunication industry and its surroundings. There is constant need for quick response, in order to adapt to new strategies and invent new models, methods and techniques. Surroundings require flexibility and adaptability, while on the other hand different stakeholders such as customers, organizations and its employees strongly demand fulfilment of already defined objectives. Project management is discipline that enables achievement of business objectives and conducting the overall business strategy of a company. Many successful companies have already accepted and implemented it within their organizations. The crucial element of successful project management is its methodology. Agile methodology is currently one of the widely used and the most popular ways of working in information and communication technology (ICT) projects. There are different processes and techniques within agile framework such as scrum and Kanban, often being complementary to each other. All these trends are necessarily influenced by traditional organization set up's, roles of key factors and lead to different levels of transition and adaptation activities. The article presents the latest methodology trends, focusing on applications in ICT projects. The best practice analysis has been performed as well as methodologies implementation benefits have been provided as outcome of conducted survey and statistical analysis of obtained data. Agile methods for software development and systems development has grown in popularity to the extent that larger organizations have been looking to adopt these methods at the enterprise level. Typically these adoption approaches are implemented as Agile Transformations and there has been mixed results in the successes and failures of these change initiatives. The change tactics used, and the specific methods chosen for adoption vary wildly depending on context. In a nutshell, the only certainty about large-scale agile transformation it is to expect uncertainty. This paper will provide an experience report on a new approach known as Lean Change which has adapted techniques designed to handle uncertainty from other domains to provide a framework for executing Agile Transformations more effectively. Value Stream Mapping (VSM) is one of the most powerful lean manufacturing tools used for quick analyses of products and information flow through a manufacturing system from door to door. This versatile, powerful method is used to visualize product flows as snapshot; it just describes the production behavior within specific period from the total production time; which some time cause a misleading during lean tools implementation. In this paper a new real-time data collection called Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system will be integrated in VSM to collect the objects information through a manufacturing system in the production floor. The new integrated RFID-VSM system called Dynamic Value Stream Mapping (DVSM) Provides a real-time data for VSM to be able to interact with the processes, people, material, and any other constraint relevant to the production situation. As time progresses and the operation are “producing”, the workers and managers will have the ability to interact live with the animated flow. Queues build up, inventory deplete, people move, etc… Based on the real situation the managers can take the right decision at the right time where the workers will make changes to processing capacity, labor requirements, flow, and cell layout, to optimize and design or develop the future state. The Toyota Production System (TPS) is mainly based on industrial principles and uses to eliminate the wastes in a production system to increase the products' efficiency. Several lean tools and principles like Value Stream Map, which represents not only the flow between people, materials, and information but also value added and non value added steps. In this project, a team implemented lean principles to improve the sterilization department in hospital. The project was done in a step by step suggesting manner. Two Kaizen events were identified for which a pokayoke system was developed and some changes were made in the current working patterns. In this article, a mathematical model is provided for optimizing the number of Kanbans allocated to each workstation of a pull-production system while maintaining a desired service level and minimum total work-in-process inventory. Discrete-event simulation is applied for solving this model. A production line with 6 workstations of a firm which is a supplier for large manufacturing companies in Iranian automotive industry is simulated. The number of Kanbans allocated to each station is set as response variables for optimization. Transitioning from one development method to another has become a common routine for many companies. Despite this, very few reports describe how the process transition has been carried out, and provide suggestions for how to define a process transition model. This paper reports on a process transition from Scrum to Scrumban in one software development company. Effective application of systems engineering in rapid response environments has been difficult, particularly those where large, complex brownfield systems or systems of systems exist and are constantly being updated with both short and long term software enhancements. This paper proposes a general case for solving this problem by combining a services approach to systems engineering with a kanban-based scheduling system.
