This paper aims to achieve the good performances of speed control of the electric vehicle (induction motor) fed Z-source inverter using DSP controller. The electric vehicle (EV) drive must feature fast control response, high efficiency over wide speed and torque ranges. The control technique is a combination of indirect field oriented control (IFOC) and double space vector pulse width modulation (DSVPWM) which combines the advantages of both and simultaneously eliminates certain implementation difficulties. In this paper firstly, best method identification for data acquisition selection by aim of fault analysis is presented and in continue, a new pattern for a full bridge thyristor base AC-DC converter under failure in view of series hybrid electric vehicle (SHEV) application is identified and presented by the help of experimental test result. This paper proposes a method of accurately estimating the state of charge (SOC) of lithium-ion rechargeable batteries in high fuel efficiency vehicles, such as hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) and electric vehicles (EVs). Although it is important to accurately estimate SOC of the battery to maximize efficiency and safety, there exist many problems for conventional methods. To address this issue, a model-based approach using “Series Kalman Filters” is proposed and implemented in this paper. Its approach is verified with series of simulations under the basic HEV operating environment. A discussion on a limitation of the method is also included in this paper. Virtual laboratories that animate scientific phenomena are becoming an increasingly popular method to teach students. Electrical engineering is considered difficult to understand as it demands a high level of imagination. This difficulty can be dealt with to a large extent by developing visual aids in the form of animations. Animations can help students to grasp the idea quickly and therefore can serve as an effective aid for the learning process. In Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV), one of the most important phenomenon which has effect on the vehicle performance is certainly quality of power and power flow in the system. A good power quality in the system can be provided by decreased fluctuation in power flow and a longer life-time of the battery utilized in the electric subsystem of the vehicle. In this paper, we utilize a parallel-series type HEV simulation which is developed in Matlab/Simulink environment. In such type of HEVs, there are different operation modes. When switching between those operation modes, undesired power flow fluctuations occur. In order to smooth the power flow fluctuations and decrease the charge/recharge cycle times of battery, proposed Electric Double Layer Capacitor (EDLC) is developed and connected to battery pack in parallel in the simulation system. In [1] a new concept was developed for the design of hybrid electric powertrains that includes optimization of the component sizes as well as control strategies. In contrast to most existing publications, the approach explicitly considers the conflicting goals of low fuel consumption and high vehicle longitudinal dynamics and the trade-off is quantified. This is achieved by formulating two multiobjective optimization problems using the Pareto-concepts and solving it by using a Genetic Algorithm. Whereas results have already been shown for the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) [1], this paper focuses on future driving scenarios that represent the markets USA, China and Germany. It is shown, how the control strategy and the component sizes of the electrical machine, the battery-pack and the final drive have to be adapted when considering driving cycles with different typical characteristics. This paper investigates the pertinent concepts centric to electric vehicle (EV) and hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) battery value. The factors that contribute to battery degradation, and thus devaluation, are examined. While a battery may no longer be useful in a vehicle, this does not mean the battery can no longer be used in other applications. Four strategies for alternative uses of battery packs are discussed.
