Pervasive computing is the area which is growing very rapidly in today's world. The main concept used in pervasive computing is the advancement of technology and equipment's computing is going smaller and gaining more power. In pervasive computing environments, users can get services anytime and anywhere but the ubiquity and mobility of the environments bring new security challenges. The user and the service provider do not know each other in advance; they should mutually authenticate each other. The service provider prefers to identify the user based on his voice while the user tends to stay anonymous. In the latest advancements on security, Voice biometric feature is one among others for identification purpose. This paper describes an integrated feature extraction process for user identification. This integrated technique is based on accessing signals of voice by using auditory system of human using a combination of MFCC and RASTA-PLP. A parameter is used to define the performance of the system named as recognition rate. Finally, a comparison is done against the individual techniques like MFCC, PLP, LPC and it shows that integrated method outperforms the individual methods in given environment. This work designs Face detection and recognition system to provide security to an individual living alone at home. Enhancement and improvement of this complete system is done by joining two algorithms Principle Component Analysis and Independent Component Analysis and the combination of these algorithms i.e. PICA is used for feature extraction. Firstly, the image of a person is acquired using camera, then face detection is done based on template matching and face recognition is done by Feed Forward Neural Network. This improved version of Face Recognition is combined with improved version of Voice Recognition to identify a person and to provide more secure environment to an individual living alone at home. In Voice Recognition, RASTA-Perceptual Linear Prediction with Mel Frequency Cepstal Coefficient module is used and for Face Recognition, PCA with ICA algorithms is used. There are two steps in this: if Face is recognised successfully of a person, then Voice will be recognised, if both are recognised accurately for an individual then access will be granted otherwise if any one parameter is not recognised properly then we calculate the similarity index of that individual and if it shows the value greater than 75% then only permission will be granted else the person will be declared as unknown person. This combined approach of Face Recognition with Voice Recognition performs better than previous approaches and the experiments we perform give results with 98.99% accuracy by using number of images. Such Promethean characteristics were inherent in Francis Bacon as well – a Renaissance literary giant, and a man of the world, who was highly inspired by Machiavellian ideals that the end justifiesthe means thus presenting an array of self-criticism, fear of failure, perfectionism, God like nature, helpful nature to emphasize on performance and the need for competence. According to him, mind is potentially charged with parameters of judgment, analysis and reasoning having the capability of deriving its conclusions. He believed that one's assumptions are guided by her/his perceptions. His works strongly suggest some moral precepts tinged with worldliness for the welfare of mankind. As an author, the dictums and didacticism of Bacon in Selected Essays, New Atlantis, Novum Organum, ooze out Promethean-fencing characteristics like promotion of scientific interests and curiosity for the so long been 'content' mankind. In his private life, he raised a resistance against the taxation levied by Queen Elizabeth. His later life was spent in scientific experiments like the 'infamous' frozen fowls experiment to deduce the preservative nature of ice. It is a valid question that whether traditional folklore reflects the personal and nationalvalues of people or not? This paper will look at the relationship between the traditional folklore of North East and the morals depicted by the residents and their country, intended to ascertainthe resemblance and disparity between the virtual world of folklore and real life. Individual stories and folk tales related to history, society and culture intensifies the picture of the specific age and its survivors. Several sociologists, anthropologists, ethnographers, and cultural researchers believe that to interrogate everything about self, Folk tales are the best medium of it. No-matter it is about specific human or its society, community and cultural researchers etc. This paper, is an attempt to explore how the north –eastern folk song is intertwined with the moribundlife of the tribes like Bodo, Kuki, Adi, Nishi, Angami, Rengma, Bhutia, Garo etc. Specifically dealing with seven sister states, a certain gender specific attributes which are reflected through folk songs are surfaced out. The folksongs are the replications of the socio – political backgroundof a particular race that has its own ideology. The songs composed by males reveals the ' sui generis' revolution of tribal women that exhibits how globalization affects these tribes and they accepted the changing position of women in society. Structural modification and refractive index of PC specimens implanted with 50 keV B+ in the fluence range of 1x1015-5x1016 ions cm−2 have been analyzed in the mid-infrared wavelength region. The change in refractive index due to implantation has been studied by specular reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectroscopic technique. Structural modifications in implanted matrix have been observed by FTIR transmission and Raman Spectra. Formation of D and G bands with photo-luminescence (PL) background has been observed in the implanted specimens by Raman spectra recorded in 500-3500 cm−1 range. A Raman shift has been observed in the position of D and G band with increasing ion fluence, which is attributed to the formation of hydrogenated amorphous carbon (HAC) structures. This observed dispersion in position and intensity ratio (ID/IG) of these bands with increasing ion fluence has been used to monitor carbon bonding in HAC structures. A continuous decline in crystallite size with increasing ion fluence has been observed; evidently supporting the increase in unorganized carbon in the graphitic layers formed in the implanted PC matrix. The possible correlation between the changes observed in refractive index and structural modification have been discussed. The present endeavour reports the analysis of Argand plot and conduction mechanism for N+ implanted CR-39 polymer. The CR-39 specimens were implanted with 100 keV N+ beam to various fluences of 1x1015, 1x1016 and 2x1016 ions cm-2. Dielectric measurements in the frequency range 100 kHz-100 MHz have been used to analyze the dielectric behaviour of the N+ implanted CR-39 specimens. It has been observed that dielectric constant decreases whereas dielectric loss increases with increasing ion fluence. Using Argand plot (real part vs. imaginary part of complex permittivity), the distribution of relaxation times with frequency by interpreting the values of dielectric constant, spreading factor, average and molecular relaxation time have been determined. For studying the conduction mechanism for pre- and post-implanted polymeric matrix, various conduction models like Poole Frankel, Schottky, Hopping and Space Charge Limited Conduction has been studied in detail through the I-V characteristic measurements. The structural disorder in Si(111) matrix induced by high flux oblique Ar ion sputtering has been investigated extensively. The formation of amorphous phase reflecting accumulation of disorder in the irradiated samples has been revealed by Raman spectroscopy. Interestingly, the stress produced in the irradiated specimens as a function of oblique incidence leads to smoothening of the surfaces via decreased strain. Atomic Force Microscopy confirms the presence of amorphous zones in the irradiated Si(111) specimens. In fact, within this range of oblique incidences, a sharp decrease in surface roughness follows after initial roughing of the surfaces. Our results demonstrate that complex interplay between defect generation (interstitial, substitutional and vacancies) and damage induced amorphization due to high flux Ar+ sputtering leads to angle dependent structural disorder. This dependence of structural disorder on oblique incidence reveals qualitative correlation with the amorphization of the Si(111) matrix. Explicitly, this correlation reveals opportunities of creating angle dependent amorphized layers by high flux ion beam sputtering which can be better exploited in Si based electronic devices.
