Despite the growing body of literature on social media adoption in marketing, there appears to be a lack of research on the specifics and ramifications for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which are an important segment of the business world. This study aims to address this gap by investigating the use of Facebook and Instagram in marketing among fast-food SMEs in Pakistan, a developing country. To achieve this goal, the study employs the technology-organisation-environment (TOE) framework and a multiple case study approach to analyse the antecedents of Facebook and Instagram adoption and their impact on marketing performance. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews with thirty fast-food SMEs in Pakistan and analysed using thematic analysis. The study reveals that several antecedents influence the adoption of Facebook and Instagram in marketing among SMEs, including interactivity, cost-effectiveness, owner support, customer pressure, and market scope. Furthermore, the adoption of these social media platforms impacted marketing performance, as it enhances brand awareness and customer buying interest. The study's findings offer a conceptual framework on the antecedents of Facebook and Instagram adoption in marketing among fast-food SMEs in Pakistan, with implications for their marketing performance. The study's conceptual framework can serve as a foundation for future research exploring social media adoption in other SMEs and industries. This study has both practical and theoretical contributions. At the practical level, it provides suggestions for fast-food SMEs in Pakistan on how to adopt social media platforms effectively for marketing purposes. Faculty mentoring plays an important role in the success and persistence of doctoral students, especially minority students. Students who are effectively mentored by their advisors are inclined to experience a low risk of anxiety and depression; considerable improvement of their research skills and productivity; and relative ease of transitioning from the course-taker to independent researcher stage. Not all faculty advisors, however, are equipped with effective mentoring skills. The goals of this paper is to present and promotes an innovative mentor training program, the Advancement of Mentoring Practice Program (AMPP). In AMPP, faculty advisors and their Ph.D. students engage in concurrent training series with built-in feedback loops to enhance their communication skills and to improve mentoring relationships. During the 2021 fall semester, a pilot study was conducted with faculty advisors of mechanical engineering and their first-year doctoral students at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. In addition, formative and summative evaluations were applied to assess the quality of the AMPP and generate feedback for the program refinement. The article aims at deepening the topics related to the governance of healthcare organizations with prevalently female management. The paper employs a case study approach, analyzing the case of the National Centre for Oncological Hadrontherapy (CNAO Foundation), trying to identify the relevant characteristics that impact operational management. The article uses a methodology based on a single case study related to the CNAO Foundation of Pavia, Italy. The CNAO Foundation is characterized by the presence of a predominantly female middle-management (of the 128 employees, 65 are women, 30 of whom are mothers). Women lead the Scientific, Medical, Technical-Nursing direction. Female managers are also responsible for Communication and Public Relations, Quality and Regulatory Affairs, General Accounting and Taxes, Clinical Administration, Purchasing Planning and General Services. Of the 13 current medical doctors, 11 are women, including the Medical Director, in contrast with the international average, which sees only 25% of physicians in a hospital environment being women. The analysis is conducted through the CAOS model, which allows mapping both the external as well as internal features of one organization. Starting from the experience of CNAO, the framework defines the characteristics of a possible organizational model that can enhance the role of women in healthcare management in highly multidisciplinary environments and with a high impact of innovation and technology. The article contributes to the issue of gender diversity in healthcare organizations, providing the definition of the main characteristics, challenges, and opportunities. The CNAO Foundation's experience, adequately placed in the literature, allows the identification of some best practices of actual applicability for public and private healthcare organizations. Tourism is an information-intensive sector and today's tourist is hungry for information about everything that surrounds him and is increasingly demanding about the mechanisms that are made available for access and interaction with information. This new reality requires rethinking many of the existing solutions. In this context, the Internet of Things (IoT) is revolutionizing the way we think, design and implement Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) solutions for the tourism sector, opening up unprecedented opportunities in terms of how we can provide information and services. This new reality is enabling reengineering the interaction-process between tourists and its surrounding space. For heritage spaces, typically visited by countless tourists, there is an opportunity to rethink the entire process of supporting the interpretation and fruition of heritage, carried out by tourists. In order to understand how this reengineering can be carried out, a review of the state of the art is carried out with regard to how the IoT has been applied in the context of tourism. Then, the methodology that governed the creation of a conceptual model based on IoT is clearly defined, capable of transforming the way physical spaces of tourist interest can be interpreted and how their fruition can be improved. Particular importance is given to the contextualization of the experience, since the information provided must be adjusted to the visitor, according to their profile, which may necessarily reflect different types of interest or prior knowledge about the space. Finally, this article presents a conceptual model where its components are described and where it is discussed how the model can transform the experience of visiting touristic spaces and how tourists can access information and services that entities promoters of these spaces wish to make available. Knowledge translation is the ability to translate concepts and ideas effectively among different stakeholders, leading to innovation and new knowledge. Translating knowledge is particularly challenging in the healthcare sector, which has been experiencing a shift from a centralized and sequential model of value creation to a more distributed and open model, where various stakeholders (including patients) act as co-creators of the outcome. According to management as well as the medical literature, knowledge translation in healthcare has been mainly seen as the translation of scientific research into clinical practice. However, different types of knowledge translation emerge, such as when multidisciplinary teams need to work together on a joint medical project. In this situation, multiple backgrounds, competencies, skills, and emotional feelings of the different stakeholders are a compelling barrier that prevents the effective transfer and sharing of knowledge. This is why knowledge translation needs a set of enablers to facilitate the transfer, sharing, and creation of new knowledge, innovation, and ideas. This paper investigates such a perspective by analyzing the PIOPPO project from the National Centre of Oncological Hadrontherapy (CNAO Foundation) in Pavia, Italy. The CNAO is one of the few dual-beam Hadrontherapy centres in the world that provides a beam that is able to irradiate patients with protons or carbon ions to treat radioresistant tumours. The PIOPPO project is an experimental phase 2 trial involving preoperative chemotherapy and carbon ion therapy to treat resectable and borderline-resectable pancreatic adenocarcinoma. The stakeholders involved in the PIOPPO trial have different characteristics, both in terms of competencies and emotions. The PIOPPO multidisciplinary team includes highly skilled professionals from several disciplines, which are not all related to medicine (from oncologists to physicists, from biologists to surgeons). Pancreatic cancer patients are also involved while experiencing a challenging personal time. Human communication is evolving. This development reflects the influence of the micro- and macroenvironment, the current Covid-19 situation, and the comprehensive digitisation of the environment. The digitisation of the environment and communication occurs mainly in Generation Z, or rather in its fraction called Generation Snowflake. Is the mentioned communication based on classic communication models, or do they differ significantly? To answer such questions or to verify the constructed hypotheses, the following research goal was set: to compile a real communication model of Generation Snowflake in a marketing environment. This goal was methodically fulfilled by modern audit approaches, which not only analyse the issue, but also establish new approaches and formulate recommendations. To fulfil the goal, the technique of independent observation of the sample of 149 respondents of the generation in question is used. Based on the fulfilment of the goal and the obtained results, it is possible to design the Generation Snowflake communication model and formulate its mathematical representation: the studied generation is still based on the Shannon – Weaver communication model, but due to digitisation the used communication lines multiply. Generation Snowflake thus uses multiple layers for communication. This means that in contrast to the classic one-line communication, these people communicate on multiple lines by so-called multi-line communication. The recorded knowledge is then important especially in marketing communication. The marketing management of modern companies can thus better and effectively manage and target marketing information. Laboratory data collected in the electronic health record as part of routine care can be used in secondary research. For example, the US Department of Veterans Affairs maintains a data warehouse covering over 20 million individuals and 6.6 billion lab tests. However, data aggregation in such a data warehouse can be difficult. In order to retrieve all or nearly all of one type of lab result with a high degree of precision, we perform clinical concept adjudication, which is the process of an expert determining which database records correspond to a target clinical concept. In this work, we develop an interactive machine learning tool to "extend the reach" of expert laboratory test adjudicators. Our tool provides access to automatic laboratory classification in a user-facing front end that covers all steps in an adjudication workflow, in order to lower barriers to collaboration, increase transparency of adjudication, and to promote efficiencies and data reuse. In the last decade, cultural heritage including historical sites are reconstructed into digital heritage. Based on UNESCO, digital heritage defines as "cultural, educational, scientific and administrative resources, as well as technical, legal, medical and other kinds of information created digitally, or converted into digital form from existing analogue resources". In addition, the digital heritage is doubling in size every two years and expected will grow tenfold between 2013 and 2020. In order to attract and stir the interest of younger generations about digital heritage, gamification has been widely promoted. In this research, a virtual walkthrough combine with gamifications are proposed for learning and exploring historical places in Malaysia by using mobile device. In conjunction with Visit Perak 2017 Campaign, this virtual walkthrough is proposed for Kellie's Castle at Perak. The objectives of this research is two folds 1) modelling and design of innovative mobile game for virtual walkthrough application, and 2) to attract tourist to explore and learn historical places by using sophisticated graphics from Augmented Reality. The efficiency and effectiveness of the mobile virtual walkthrough will be accessed by the International and local tourists. Understanding the human-computer interaction has its own pace, it would be equally wrong to rush it or slow it down. To figure out whether to attack a new phenomenon or to stand with it, we need to choose a viewpoint. Building on background knowledge it can say that none of the disciplines deals with reality, each of them tears out a different part of reality, which is then studied using concepts and methods of that discipline and/or borrowing from other disciplines. Terry Winograd realized that the artificial world does not postulate that in reality the wind blows and there are cats, and that this can mess up its cards. This paper demonstrates that disciplines, that study the human- computer interaction, behave like Goliath and fail to see the reality in which there are winds and cats and even slingshots. In this paper a transdisciplinary method is proposed, in other words a view of the human-computer interaction without the disciplinary "cages". Another method also is proposed, namely the "if...then" logical connections between disciplinary concepts which are made transparent by the Doctus Smart Decision Tool. With this transdisciplinary method, experience and inexperience can be connected, for both the experienced and the inexperienced decision maker uses logic to make decisions. The only difference is, that the inexperienced believe in the plethora of rules, while the experienced know how to make the same decision based on fewer rules. The result is the algorithm to reduce experience and so map a part of tacit knowledge. The conclusion of this paper is that fast thinking, experience mining and rule based behaviour metaphors are good enough to describe the reality of the human-computer interaction.
