The aim of this research is to assess the static responses of prestressed concrete skewed bridges under different types of loads which they were subjected on the bridges structure such as (dead load, post-tensioned load, vehicles load, thermal load, wind load, and loads combination). CSI Bridge Ver.24 was use for Finite element method analysis. Two load cases with three static responses (moment, stress, and deflection) were adopted for each bridge. These load cases were vehicles load case and loads combination case (service loads). There were two types of bridges whichwere selected in this study. These bridges were crossing the expressway of Al-Daura-Yusufiyah which were located in the south of Baghdad City (Capital of Iraq). The results of finite element static analysis explained that the value of positive bending moment, negative bending moment tensile stresses, compression stresses, and vertical deflections were lower than allowable values in ASSHTO LRFD-Bridge requirements of bridges, concluded that the cracks and deflections will not appear within structural members of bridges. The results of damage inspection process showed that there are not any damages which appear on the structural members for U-girder bridge. This study showed that u-girder bridge appeared lower values of vertical deflections than slab bridge. Therefore, it is suitable for construction for high traffic volume. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
