We live in a world where breakthroughs occur exponentially, and the health sector is no exception. The IoT plays a significant role in this phenomenal development, and IoT can perform wonders with the proper applications, including the ESP8266 NodeMCU. This IoT-based board is commendably potent and configurable, capable of making several observations simultaneously. This paper proposed to develop a cost-effective system that monitors IV fluid levels, Tonic-Clonic epilepsy seizure monitoring, pulse, and body temperature irregularities simultaneously by interfacing an ESP8266 NodeMCU with a load cell, a temperature sensor integrated 3D accelerometer, and a pulse sensor. The ESP8266 NodeMCU can send sensor data to the cloud data logger and make VoIP calls to alert the caretaker using the internet. The proposed saline bottle monitoring system, pulse rate monitoring system, body temperature monitoring system, and epilepsy detection system had 99.984%,99.735%,99.825%, and 99.3% respective accuracies during testing. The design of this vehicle security module is implemented on a motorbike and works using the touch key-hysteresis feature and the fingerprint system. when the user turns off the motorbike, the safety module will automatically deactivate the crankshaft position sensor signal that goes to the ECM and the motorbike starter system. In the locked condition, engine electricity will be abnormal due to the hysteresis effect. So, the user needs to reactivate the two systems that have been disconnected using the touch key-hysteresis method and registered fingerprint recognition. The design of this vehicle security module serves to prevent vehicle theft crimes. The module is implemented on a motorbike and experimental methods are used to answer the design and implementation problems of security devices using this touch key and RFID system. When the engine is off, the security module will automatically deactivate the crankshaft position sensor signal and the motorcycle starting system. To turn on the motorcycle, the driver needs to reactivate the two systems that have been disconnected earlier, using the touch key method and ID tag recognition on the RFID. The test results of the security module can work according to the specified design. The touch button can activate the engine speed signal as the main engine control module data, and for identification of the position of the ID tag that is given a barrier, the module can still read well up to a distance of 10 cm. In this paper, we design an FSM (Finite State Machine) based controlling system by using Arduino board for a variable AC (alternative current) power source which is physically controlled with a variac attached to a DC Motor. We construct a finite state machine based control methodology by using an Arduino board. We analyze its advantages and disadvantages by comparing to basic control algorithms formed by program delays and branching statements. In the presented FSM based methodology, transition between states are achieved as an event trigger or condition change like a user input which is setting the desired voltage value in the variac control system. Experimental results show that finite state machine based design is faster and more stable than traditional conditional algorithms. Also it has been shown that the FSM based structure is realized effectively by using an Arduino board and it can provide new opportunities to digital control design. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Although the Arduino is currently the most popular low-cost hardware platform within the Do-it-Yourself (DiY) community, it is not designed taking into account the specific requirements of physiological computing. As a result of previous work by our group, a novel hardware framework for physiological computing, entitled BITalino, was proposed, to allow anyone to create their own projects and applications with biosignal sensors. In this work, we benchmark the Arduino and BITalino platforms, targeting the evaluation of their performance for the purpose of biosignals acquisition. Design is the essence of engineering. Because of its core values in engineering education and research as well as in industry, I decided to incorporate engineering design as the main theme of the Introduction to Engineering course at Eastern Mennonite University (EMU). Following a five-stage prescriptive model (problem definition, conceptual design, preliminary design, detailed design, and design communication) in their design process, students worked on two collaborative projects: the design and construction of a solar-powered cell phone charger and a persistence of vision wand. In addition to designing and building functional devices as end products, the students developed plans of work, kept records in their lab notebooks, considered alternative designs, wrote final reports including market analysis, and presented their work in visual aided presentations. In the process, students learned to use the design software Autodesk Inventor to design the cases housing the circuit boards of the solar-powered chargers and the wands encasing LED circuits. The cases were then printed out on a three-dimensional printer. They also learned to design, construct, and test electronic circuits. Moreover, students learned to program a microcontroller, an Arduino board, to control the LED displays. In this paper we present the latest developments of WADE (Workflows and Agents Development Environment) that provide concrete support for a better realization of the innovative paradigm of agent-based business process management. First, we review the basic ideas behind such an innovative paradigm. Then, we describe the new functionality that WADE offers to enable the rapid and effective realization of user-centric business processes, i.e., business processes that are tightly integrated with the work of users and that are mainly driven by user interactions. Such processes are met frequently in practice and WADE seamlessly accommodates Web and Android users by means of dedicated views.
