Since the mid 1980s, several groups including the Carnegie Forum, the Holmes Group, and the Center for Educational Renewal have conducted investigations and published reports and proposals on improving the quality of teacher education programs. This paper analyzes the various proposals and contends that current or recommended teacher education frameworks (respectively named traditional and prevalent) will not produce the desired results without restructuring the governance of teacher preparation. Among the conditions in prevailing governance structures that are analyzed are the following: state legislative bodies maintain autonomous regulation of teacher licensure criteria; roles, responsibilities, and qualifications of faculty and administrators of Departments of Education remain unregulated by the teaching profession; and several key actors responsible for preparing preservice teachers are left without representation or voting powers. Proposals which address these weaknesses are offered, including recommendations that professionals who implement decisions would also make them and that all key actors, including preservice teachers, who are directly involved in teacher education programs would vote on decisions. To accomplish these purposes, it is proposed that the responsibilities of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards and of Centers of Pedagogy (as proposed by the Holmes Group) be extended. The security of every organization is critical and should be proactively planned. The research field of security, workplace behavior, security safeguards, workarounds, and cybersecurity explores how organizations can effectively strategize and use adaptive security plans to minimize the security vulnerability of organizations. These solutions rely heavily on the technology adopted by organizations that seek to align with policies that safeguard their information assets consciously. However, despite several works in the literature on workarounds, the concept of workarounds that poses a security risk in an organization is still riddled with ambiguities. This review covers current research involving 28 articles across the Association for information systems (AIS) basket of eight conferences and other IS securityrelated journals. Our results identify four major categories that reveal the intersection of workarounds and security in the workplace from recent literature. According to India's National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB, 2015), cases of rape and domestic violence are increasing and in total contribute to 45% of reported crimes against women. We analysed data from the 2011 Census and the National Crime Records Bureau on India's 640 districts. We examine how district level measures of socio-environmental factors are associated with the prevalence of reports of IPV and NPSV by creating a unique dataset. The variables examined were sex ratio, caste, education, employment, household wealth, and religion and highlight the inter-district variability in socio-environmental factors. Multivariable regressions for IPV demonstrated that religion is an especially important predictor, districts with higher percentage of Muslims, Hindus, or Jains had higher rates of IPV. Examining socioeconomic factors we find that less advantage places have higher IPV and NPSV, as demonstrated by no household assets for both outcomes and scheduled caste for IPV. Based on our findings, we recommend vocational training for both men and women across all classes to improve economic stability, and encourage state officials to stand firmly against cultural and religious behaviours which can lead to IPV and NPSV in India. The rate of separation from a long term partner prior to and after joining a kink community within the parameters of a year (+/-1 year joining) has been reported by a local kink group as being unconventionally high. In this paper we will discuss whether it is at an atypically high rate or not and what that may mean and reasons it may occur. Those that leave a partner usually sacrifice several factors. These factors range from emotional security to economical. To investigate this potential atypical rate we conducted a two pronged study of narrative qualitative data as well as survey quantitative data. The subjects for the surveys were self-reporting volunteer candidates from a local kink organization, Reddit.com and the kink community website "Fetlife.com". Within-survey multiple imputation (MI) methods are adapted to pooled-survey regression estimation where one survey has more regressors, but typically fewer observations, than the other. This adaptation is achieved through: (1) larger numbers of imputations to compensate for the higher fraction of missing values; (2) model-fit statistics to check the assumption that the two surveys sample from a common universe; and (3) specificying the analysis model completely from variables present in the survey with the larger set of regressors, thereby excluding variables never jointly observed. In contrast to the typical within-survey MI context, cross-survey missingness is monotonic and easily satisfies the Missing At Random (MAR) assumption needed for unbiased MI. Large efficiency gains and substantial reduction in omitted variable bias are demonstrated in an application to sociodemographic differences in the risk of child obesity estimated from two nationally-representative cohort surveys. Cigarette smoking has been identified as the most important source of preventable mortality world wide. Using the 2003 Joint Canada/United States Survey of Health dataset, we find that, net of controls, differences between Canada and the United States in smoking behavior do exist or do not exist depending on how smoking is measured. The most sensitive measure of smoking, pack-years, shows no significant differences between Canada and the United States while the measures of current smoker and smoker type suggest that Canadians are far more likely to smoke compared to Americans, net of controls. We use cultural diffusion theory to suggest that there are no real differences in smoking between the U.S. and Canada and thus, the estimates for pack-years are the most reliable. In recent decades, societal expectations about marital roles have become generally more egalitarian. Many evangelicals have resisted this contemporary trend. However, some research suggests that a number of evangelicals have softened their husband headship/wife submission marital model to incorporate more egalitarian elements. This paper proposes to contribute to this literature by exploring whether evangelical covenants are significantly more traditional and in greater spousal agreement about traditionalism than non-evangelical covenants and all other newlyweds. I also propose to explore how the perceived sanctity of marriage makes gender and gendered obligations more salient to spouses in evangelical covenant marriages than to spouses in other forms of marriage. I use a symbolic interactionist perspective to explore a potentially unusual contradiction among evangelical covenant marriages. I hypothesize that evangelical covenants, while endorsing the most extreme forms of traditionalism in gender ideologies, also demonstrate a keen awareness about the necessity of nurturing interdependence and mutual respect between husbands and wives. To explore these issues, I will use the Marriage Matters quantitative and qualitative survey data. I will address gender and religious attitude differences between covenants and standards, evangelicals and non-evangelicals, and husbands and wives using multivariate seemingly unrelated regression techniques with couple-level survey data. There is ample research on when Agile methodologies should and should not be implemented in software development team projects. This stream of research also extends into how to implement Agile methodologies (Abrahamsson et al., 2009; Yu and Petter, 2014) and which Agile practices work best within existing teams (Drury-Grogan, 2014; Vijayasarathy and Butler, 2016). Yet, research on information and resources on how to incorporate the practice of Agile training into the classroom or which Agile methodology is best suited for information systems development education are scarce (Kropp et al., 2016; Landry and McDaniel, 2016). Throughout a computer science or management information systems curriculum, Agile methodologies are referenced and taught frequently; however, students are seldom required to develop in Agile environments in the classroom as part of learning best development practices. This lack of practical application and exposure might be due to limited opportunities for students to meet outside of class hours in conjunction with possible departmental limitations. Yet, with the rapid adoption and proliferation of Agile methodologies throughout the software development industry, the absence of this practical experience and subsequent cursory knowledge puts students at a competitive disadvantage in the workplace. This research compares the performance of two popular Agile methodologies by investigating how information systems students learn to develop software in teams using these methodologies within their curriculum. Both Meier et al (2016) and Kropp et al (2016) investigated the teaching of agile collaboration and values in student teams in the classroom, with each investigation demonstrating that incorporating agile methodologies into the software engineering education leads to positive student outcomes. This research investigates which Agile methodologies can be most effectively applied within the academic arena in order to give students the experience they need to be more successful in a professional workplace setting through applied learning based on employer desired skill sets. Past research has consistently found that among adults, first generation immigrants tend to be thinner than their second and third generation counterparts. However, among young children, children of immigrants have the greatest risk of obesity compared to children of natives (Van Hook and Baker, 2010; Van Hook, Baker, and Altman, 2009). This suggests that as young adults the second generation may be especially susceptible to developing obesity. As the second generation moves into adulthood they develop more autonomy and hence exert more decision-making about their diet and leisure time activities. The contexts in which these children find themselves could have important implications for their weight status. Using wave 12 of the NLSY 1997, I examine two important contexts family of origin socioeconomic status and emerging adult sociopeconomic status by generation for Mexican-Americans and compare their pattern to the one found for third generation whites and blacks. I find that family of origin socioeconomic status has only a moderate negative effect on young adult BMI after controlling for own emerging socioeconomic status and that this effect is only found for third generation whites.
