The feminization of migration is now a prevailing trend. Currently comprising the fourth largest number of applicants for NCLEX-RN, the official American nursing license exam, the rush of Korean female nurses for migration and job opportunities abroad is closely related to the 'feminizing' trend of migration. They are leaving the country motivated by a wide variety of factors: social expectation, pressure and compulsion imposed on their feminine vocation; employment insecurity and labor control exacerbated in the age of neoliberalism; and requirements of individuals who are living in the era of globalization such as "survival strategy," "self-planning" and "global desire." This research focuses on the Korean nurses in their 20's who have migrated to Brisbane, Australia for a state-financed paid internship under the agreement reached between the Australian Government and Human Resources Development Service of Korea (HRDK). The first object of this research is to reveal the reason why vocational migration from Korea has been prevalent particularly in nursing, and the push factors and pull factors in it. In the end, I will note what further contributions can be made to the discovery of this study, namely the analysis and theory on feminization of migration and global migration of Korean women. ..PAT.-Unpublished Manuscript [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
