Research on the impact of the interaction between an optical probe and the expanding steam flow field in a steam turbine on the measured parameters of the liquid phase of the wet steam has been ongoing at Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU) for several years. Previous CFD analyses were newly supplemented by the effect of changing the diameter and number of fine droplets as well as changing of steam wetness in the probe measuring space. The knowledge obtained was used to improve corrections of the extinction measurements at CTU and for conceptual design of a new extinction probe for phase transition investigation in high pressure steam. The Electron Cyclotron Resonance Heating (ECRH) system of China Fusion Engineering Test Reactor (CFETR) is designed to inject 20 MW RF power into the plasma for heating and current drive (H&CD) applications. The ECRH system consists of 20 gyrotrons, the associated power supplies, the transmission lines and one launcher. In order to compare the launcher performance from equatorial and upper ports, two types of launcher are designed in this paper. In equatorial launcher (EL), twenty in-vessel transmission lines are divided into four groups. Every five gaussian beams from in-vessel transmission lines face one fixed focusing mirror and one steering mirror. All gaussian beams are injected into the plasma with optimal toroidal and poloidal angles calculated by C3PO/LUKE code. In upper launcher (UL), twenty-one transmission lines are supposed and divides into three groups. Every seven gaussian beams are injected into one fixed focusing mirrors and all twenty-one beams reflected to one common steering mirror finally. The optical transmission characteristics and the convergence information of gaussian beams are checked and optimized. The Muon g-2/EDM proposed experiment at J-PARC is a promising and innovative attempt at the field of Precision Physics. The sensitivity goal of 0.1 ppm will test the limits of our current understanding, and may probe for Beyond the Standard Model observations. This paper seeks out to investigate the computational techniques required by the experiment. The GEANT4 [1] framework was used to simulate the detector setup, according to the experiment's Conceptual Design Report (CDR) [2]. This allowed to observe the event hierarchy in different energies, generate signal hit data, and construct an event-selection algorithm. ROOT and GDML enabled us to use the geometry and parsed output data in a platform-independent way. Using techniques pertaining to Machine Learning and Image Feature extraction, such as the Canny Edge detection and the Hough Transform, we were able to construct a generic representation of 'track families' from each event category. Finally, the modular GENFIT2 [3] framework was used to implement the Kalman Filter [4] along with an Deterministic Annealing Filter (DAF) [5] and the Runge-Kutta stepper to reconstruct tracks from a few digitized, smeared singular event data. Measurements of particle production at forward rapidities in high energy p-p, p-A and A-A collisions provide access to physics processes at very low Bjorken x. These measurements will allow to study the gluon saturation scale and improve our knowledge of parton distribution in nuclei. Specific requirements must be fulfilled for a calorimeter to successfully operate in high-multiplicity forward region within often stringent space limits. Here we present a study of a conceptual design of super-compact electromagnetic calorimeter being developed at Czech Technical University in Prague. The design of the sampling calorimeter is based on a sandwich structure of thin tungsten and scintillator layers oriented in parallel to the beam. Used optical readout of individual scintillator pads guaranties the required high radiation hardness of the detector.
