Abstract
This paper reports on a comparative survey of online news use and perceptions of trust in Canada and Japan among young university educated adults. Results indicate that information use patterns are broadly consistent, with some differences by gender and country. Notably, young adults report heavy reliance upon social media channels as sources of online news, despite consistently low levels of trust for this type of content. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
