ABSTRACT This poster presents how Chinese researchers use research information management (RIM) systems (e.g., ResearchGate, Google Scholar). Findings include a typology of activities in which Chinese researchers engage in RIM systems. The findings indicate that obtaining English papers and connecting with scholars from other countries motivate Chinese researchers to use specific RIM systems, while the language barrier and the Great Firewall of China discourage them to use or engage in those systems. This paper investigates the relationships between scientists' international mobility and their academic disruptiveness, by using data collected from the ORCID website and the Web of Science database (2008‐2017). Specifically, our observations contain 1,388 scholars who joined "brain gain" and "brain drain" and moved to China in the past decades. This paper is about the politics of technological progress as it is being played out among a loose network of Ghanaian makers. It unpacks how the practice of 'making' unfolds as a site for positioning the self and the nation within a global imaginary of techno futures. The paper argues, first, that 'making' in Ghana is emblematic of a crossroads of imaginative possibilities for technological design and production, and second, that this marks a distinct turn in the politics of technological progress, particularly when situated against ongoing econo‐political negotiations between the Global south, the West, and China. In response to the global disaster of COVID‐19, every country has implemented various policies. China, as a developing country, has issued policies to combat COVID‐19 that could serve as a reference for future pandemic prevention and control efforts, and may offer lessons for national governance. This paper employs bibliometric methods, text mining, and network analysis to mine and characterize the evolution of China's policies against COVID‐19. Specifically, we extract policy targets and identify the policy tools from each policy, cross‐compare the policy tools used for different policy targets, and characterize their evolution during the pandemic. Our findings show that policy targets have shifted over different stages to balance epidemic prevention with economic development. We also identify several shortcomings in distribution and utilization of policy tools. To improve policy implementation, it is crucial to align policy targets with appropriate policy tools and ensure a balanced and functional approach to policy implementation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The term digital humanities (DH) has been much talked about for its interdisciplinarity since its conception. Existing studies have explored interdisciplinary collaboration in DH mainly from the perspective of academic literature rather than projects. By employing content analysis and social network analysis, this paper selects projects in the DH category of the key National Social Science Foundation of China for analysis, with an aim to discovering the structure and patterns of interdisciplinary collaboration in DH research. Weibo is a widely used social media platform showing all kinds of information related to the COVID‐19 pandemic promptly in China. Official media and private media are two typical types of media on Weibo. Due to the different characteristics of these two media types, in the context of public health emergencies, it is worth exploring whether there are differences in the users' interactive behavior with information from these two types of media. This is of great significance to the integration and development of these two types of media.This study obtained data on the interaction behaviors of Weibo users with posts published by the two media types at various stages of the pandemic. Statistical analyses have confirmed significant differences in interaction behavior data between users and these two media types. In future research, based on the findings of this study, we will investigate the reasons behind these differences to provide relevant guidelines and suggestions for the release of different media in public health emergencies by conducting a deep dive analysis of user reviews. The vast majority of research on online trolling focused on Western cultures. Given the role context plays in shaping online interactions, it is important to take into account its socio‐cultural context and investigate the role of national culture, by conducting research into trolling in Eastern cultures. In this paper, we attempt to begin addressing this gap by focusing on Chinese collective trolling, looking at Sina Weibo's PG One case. Specifically, we aim to identify who are the major players, what are the metaphors they use, and what are the major trolling tactics employed in Chinese collective trolling event. Using a mixed‐method approach, we analyzed 2,004 posts and 9,967 comments on Sina Weibo's PG One case, of which 480 were sampled for thematic content analysis. Major contributions of this study include an account of collective trolling in Chinese cultural context that is characterized by role switching between trolls, bystanders, and victims during the various stages of the event. Nowadays, many Chinese cities have experienced "population inversion," migrants have become the majority population of some Chinese cities. To gain insights into the urban newcomers' online information ground (OIG) in China, we interviewed 10 urban newcomers in China though Wechat (an instant messaging service) and employed content analysis to analyze what are the characteristics of Chinese urban newcomers' OIG. The preliminary findings show that the online task‐forced group is an extension of information ground; OIG becomes the main information resource for urban newcomers and helps them settle down quickly; OIG is relatively temporary.
