The empirical link between children's cognitive ability and parental risk attitudes has been understudied. Specifically, an individual's educational outcome may reflect the decisions made on their behalf by parents, reflecting their risk attitudes. This paper aims to fill gaps in the existing literature by investigating whether parental risk preferences influence the cognitive ability of children in Indonesia. Using a dataset from the fifth wave of the Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS-5), we find an inverse relation between parental risk aversion and children's cognitive test scores. However, the effect of parental risk attitudes is only prominent for daughters.

Indonesian children suffer from stunting because of a chronic lack of energy and protein intake. Maternal caregiving capabilities are skills and attributes of the mother which determine their ability to use resources for positive nutrition to support their children's health. This study aimed to analyse the association between maternal caregiving capabilities and energy-protein adequacy among children with stunting. This study used a cross-sectional correlation design. The data was collected using a maternal caregiving capabilities questionnaire and 24-hour food recall in 130 mothers of children aged 2 to 5 years with stunted growth, registered at Puskesmas. The study found a significant association between maternal caregiving capabilities and a child's energy and protein adequacy. As mothers' maternal caregiving capabilities increased, their capacity to provide adequate energy and protein for their children increased. We believe that community health nurses can promote health and empower mothers to increase their capability to meet the nutritional needs of children. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

To ensure that limited domestic resources are invested in the most effective interventions, immunization programs in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) must prioritize a growing number of new vaccines while considering opportunities to optimize the vaccine portfolio, as well as other components of the health system. There is a strong impetus for immunization decision-making to engage and coordinate various stakeholders across the health system in prioritization. To address this, national immunization program decision-makers in LMICs collaborated with WHO to structure deliberation among stakeholders and document an evidence-based, context-specific, and transparent process for prioritization or selection among multiple vaccination products, services, or strategies. The output of this effort is the Country-led Assessment for Prioritization on Immunization (CAPACITI) decision-support tool, which supports using multiple criteria and stakeholder perspectives to evaluate trade-offs affecting health interventions, taking into account variable data quality. Here, we describe the user feedback from Indonesia and Ethiopia, two initial countries that piloted the CAPACITI decision-support tool, highlighting enabling and constraining factors. Interfaith marriage is a new phenomenon that has surfaced in Indonesia with the circulation of court decisions that allow interfaith couples to marry, one of the most recent being the Surabaya court decision Number 916/Pdt.P/2022/PN.Sby. In his decision, he ordered the Department of Population and Civil Registry of the City of Surabaya to record interfaith marriages in the register. While the basis used by the plaintiff included, among others, Article 27 of the 1945 Constitution, Article 10 Paragraph 1 of Law Number 39 of 1999 concerning Human Rights, Jurisprudence. The main problem in this writing is the extent to which interfaith marriage arrangements are viewed from the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), Positive Law, and Islamic Law with the Maqasid Syari'ah approach. The writing method used is normative research with descriptive qualitative processing and analysis. The results of this study conclude that interfaith marriages are invalid by looking at the current conditions, referring to the Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Baqarah verse 221, Al-Mumtahanah verse 10, and Al-Maidah verse 5.
