Printing inks of various brands are available in the field. Available colors include Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black. Ink is an important parameter in determining print quality. Optical density is one of the important parameters used to control print quality. The optical density of the printed material is a form of ink-paper interaction. This research is oriented toward investigating the optical density value of Cyan printing ink on coated and non-coated paper. The main objective of this research is to analyze the effect of printing ink thickness on the optimal density value. Optical density values of Cyan prints were obtained using densitometer measurements, printed with the IGT method on coated and uncoated paper. Every enterprise certainly needs a brand identity to become more familiar and make it easier for potential customers to identify a product, and the MSMEs Shoes SR Collection is no exception. The weaknesses of SR Collection that were found are: they did not have strong brand recognition, the shoebox design was too plain, and the promotion strategy was applied only from person to person, which is not very effective for gaining customers. Customers also identify the SR Collection shoe name with various names. Referring to this phenomenon, it can be concluded that the familiarity of SR Collection shoes is still low. Therefore, it is necessary to design a Brand Identity that can be confirmed by the SR Collection image. The promotion strategy in generating brand placement is applied to highlight and define the SR Collection brand among other competitors. The research method applied in this study is descriptive qualitative. Data were collected through interviews and observations and presented using visual design through concept maps and design boards (mood-boards). The design results that are conceptualized can highlight a new brand identity with the logo and image of SR Collection in the eyes of customers supported by designs such as logos, slogans, business cards, paper bags, packaging boxes, as well as promotional media that can be distinctive and highlight the image SR Collection Shoes. This study aims to utilize printing plate waste as alternative to making applied chemistry learning media using engraving and knocking techniques. The method includes three stages namely preproduction, production, and postproduction. Activities carried out in preproduction were collecting data through observation, interviews, literature studies, making pattern designs and teaching materials, and preparing tools and materials. The production stage focused on manufacturing the product. The product was hammered using hammer wrapped in paper adhesive and also engraved using CNC lasercutting machine. The postproduction stage included monitoring and evaluation and improvement of research products. The result was a set of learning media consisting of five media made of plates and one stand where media was placed. This learning media can be used in applied chemistry lectures to make it easier for graphic engineering students at Politeknik Negeri Media Kreatif to understand the lessons taught in class. Offset printing machines play an important role in the printing process in the printing industry, so many industrial players make various efforts to maintain the quality of offset machine printouts. One of the efforts made is to keep the rollers and blankets on the offset machine clean from metal impurities that come from printing inks. To keep rollers and blankets clean, industry players usually use chemical fluids that can clean rollers and blankets on offset machines. However, the continuous use of chemical fluids can damage the rollers and blankets due to oxidation of these chemicals over time. This affects the printing results, such as the paper getting easily damaged, the blanket becoming sticky, the print being uneven, and the density becoming low. In addition, the cleaning chemicals used can cause environmental damage such as water pollution and soil pollution. This research synthesizes an eco-cleaner from an organic waste fermentation process reinforced with a catalyst that can be used as a substitute for the chemicals used today. This research aims to produce an eco-cleaner product that can reduce metal impurities on rollers and blankets to improve the printing quality of offset machines. The resulting product works effectively to remove metal impurities without damaging the rollers and blankets because the eco-cleaner is non-corrosive. The resulting products can be used by the public and the printing industry. The method used in this research is an experiment with the fermentation synthesis method. Furthermore, the eco-cleaner is tested for characterization for feasibility according to SNI standards. This paper sets out the additional value of peci, a hat usually worn by Muslim males in Jakarta during the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, as a symbol of Indonesian cultural identity and modesty. It is common practice for individuals to store money (angpau) in the peci for easy access, however, there is a problem with the existing traditional peci design. Money will scatter when the peci falls off, thus, compromising user comfort and safety. The peci design was explored by introducing an additional wallet feature with a zipper that allows customization and versatility. Additionally, the use of Betawi traditional ornaments further enhances the peci value, making it suitable as an iconic souvenir from Jakarta. This research applied the design thinking approach of the Hasso Platner Institute (HPI) Stanford model with five steps comprised of empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test as a problem-solving tool to provide a better understanding of the needs and perspectives of peci users. The results show that pecipaw innovation could cater to the added value of traditional peci products as an iconic souvenir of Jakarta. Polimedia has to manage the student organization activities at its campuses in Jakarta, Medan, and Makassar. PKM, P2MD, NPEO, KMIPN, and PC-Fest are examples of students' events and competitions that need to be communicated. Student organizations such as BEM, MPM, HIMA, and UKM also need to communicate with the student affairs managers. For this reason, student institutional communication media is needed. This paper aimed to create student institutional communication media in the form of student information systems in Polimedia. The research method used is mixed, combining qualitative, and quantitative research. The research stages carried out are (1) analysis/inventory of needs, (2) alternative solutions, (3) making communication flows, (4) making information systems, (5) initial trials and expert judgment, and (6) conclusions. The keyframe method for making 3D animation movements is a traditional technique used by animators around the world to create certain animation movements based zon the 12 principles of animation. Meanwhile, motion capture is a motion recording technique used to describe the process of recording movements and interpreting these movements into a digital model. Motion capture itself is commonly used in the military, entertainment, sports, and other fields. In this study, we analyze the use of the two methods, the results of which can be used as a suggestion for the use of the two methods for the production of animated films. The rapidly growing population in the world demands an increase in the support of human life by providing massive production of food and medicine. As a result, the catalyst used in the production of the material plays a key role leading to intensive research. Synthesis of nanomaterials is becoming an important way to discover new catalysts by changing sizes and combining two or more metals on the nanoscale. Pd-based catalysts are well-known catalysts such as Pd-Pt, Pd-H, and Pd-Au for many chemical reactions such as the direct synthesis of hydrogen peroxide. Therefore, the provision of nanocluster bimetallic catalysts offers more benefits such as the rearrangement of surfaces to suit characteristics and lower material costs. However, the stability of the catalyst challenges researchers beyond reactivity and selectivity. In this paper, we predict the structural stability of Pd-based catalysts using a density functional theory approach. We use the 38-atom model in the M6@Pd32 core shell, where M is Hg, Pt, Au, Cu, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ag, Pd, and Cd, Pt. We prepared and investigated a series of structures such as truncated octahedral (TO) and polyhedral (PH) by calculating the excess energy. Based on our calculations and placing the monometallic Pd38 nanocluster as a reference, the TO structure is more stable than that of PH. The Zn6@Pd32 system showed the most stable followed by Cd6@Pd32 and Hg6@Pd32 was the worst. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A paperboard is a packaging material that has the disadvantage of being easily torn. One of the techniques used to overcome this is lamination. Two types of paperboard are often used as packaging materials, namely duplex and ivory. This research aimed to analyze the tear resistance comparison between duplex and ivory paperboard types. There are four types of samples in this research, namely duplex non-lamination, duplex lamination, ivory non-lamination, and ivory lamination. The variations of duplex and ivory grammation used include 350 gsm, 300 gsm, 270 gsm, 250 gsm, 230 gsm, and 210 gsm. Measurement of tear resistance refers to SNI 1974:2012 using the Elmendorf method. Each sample was measured for the CD and MD directions. The results showed that for the same grammage, the tear resistance of ivory was greater than that of duplex. The highest increase in tear resistance occurred in duplex and ivory with grammatical 210 gsm. The percentage increase in tear resistance of duplex and ivory with grams of 210 gsm, 230 gsm, 250 gsm is more than 20%, while for higher grams the percentage is less than 15%. Although the printing technology, especially offset printing, has changed and grown quickly based on advanced invention and production capacity. However, the old offset machine printing such as one or two colour offset machines are still used massively in development countries. It is unpredictable when the old printing technology eliminated completely from the community, since it is affected by the economic level and extraordinary need of the public such as public election. The old machine which has been produced for more than 10 years usually has an issue related to the ink-water balance (iwb). The use of propylene glycol (PG) as single wetting agent improved iwb based on our previous study. Therefore, the effect of PG with fountain solution to the print quality is studied here. A series of fountain solution (FS) with additional content of 0 ppm, 13 ppm, 20 ppm, 40 ppm of PG was used to print an image on the art paper surface using sakurai offset machine. The optical parameters such as optical density (OD) and L*a*b were used to observe the effect of PG content in FS to the quality of printing. The OD on 0 ppm (reference), 13 ppm, 20 ppm and, 40 ppm of PG were 1.76 (reference), 1.83, 1.76, and 1.74, respectively. The optical density was identified as the maximum value at 1.83 on raster 100% of black colour for PG 13 ppm. At 13 ppm PG-added FS, the E values of black (K) and Magenta (M) were 5.2 and 9.8, respectively, while E values of cyan (C) and yellow (Y) were 1.7 and 1.8, respectively. It meant at PG 13 ppm, the K and M were stronger than the reference, while C and Y were equal. The same and lower OD compared to the reference showed unimproved color. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
