Abstract

The article provides information on Hoya, a genera of plants characterized as epiphytic, creeping, climbing and with white latex. The roots of these plants are fibrous and are sparsely branched sometimes. The genera was named after Thomas Hoy, a gardener at Syon House in England. Hoya plants can be found in Asian countries and areas in the Pacific Islands. Description of the species classified under this genera is also provided in this article.

The article provides information on Dischidia, a genera of plants characterized with epiphytic, twining and white latex features. The roots of these plants are adventitious. Their leaves are decussate with short petiolate and are leathery or succulent. Dischida plants can be found in various countries including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, India, Nepal, China, Taiwan and Vietnam.
