E-mail pervades many aspects of our lives and is becoming indispensable communication method in areas such as commerce, government, production and general information dissemination. To maintain the security and usability of the e-mail system, every effort must be made to efficient monitoring e-mail traffic and protecting against various types of spam maker. In this paper, we design and implement a web-based 3D visualization system, monitoring the e-mail traffic and providing based on statistic suspicious activities analysis. Our system also provides convenient interactive user interface for selecting interest watching object and different type of analysis method. In this paper, a simple but efficient texture synthesis algorithm is presented. New image is synthesized by a patch-based approach. Motivated by energy equation, the method can manipulate the overlap region perfectly. After the most reasonable cut path through overlap regions is found, satisfying resultant images whose size specified by user can be produced. As a general method, our algorithm is also applied to image composition and texture transfer—rendering a target image with given source texture image. Based on covariance constraint control theory and statistic, the fault predicts problem inner the dynamic complicated system is researched. First of all, according to the important factor to influence the running state by the Multifactor analyze method, we have defined and analyzed the parameter structure of the average and error for state observe values correspondence to the fault point; Simultaneous, the fitting quantitative model and error control threshold of complicated system were presented; secondly, we has given the running principium of integration system to fault detect and designed the network topological structure and the data transfer model; Finally, a simulated example have shown that the technique is effectively and exactly. Random stealing is a well-known dynamic load-balancing algorithm. However, for a large-scale cluster, the simple random stealing policy is no longer efficient because an idle node must randomly steal many times to obtain a task from another node. This will not only increase the idle time for all nodes but also produce a heavy network communication overhead. In this paper, we propose a novel dynamic load-balancing algorithm, Transitive Random Stealing (TRS), which can make any idle node obtain a task from another node with much fewer stealing times in a large-scale cluster. A probabilistic model is constructed to analyze the performance of TRS, random stealing and Shis, one of load balance policies in the EARTH system. Finally, by the random baseline technique, an experiment designed to compare TRS with Shis and random stealing for five different load distributions in the Tsinghua EastSun cluster convinces us that TRS is a highly efficient dynamic load-balancing algorithm in a large-scale cluster. Random stealing is a well-known dynamic scheduling algorithm. However, in a large-scale cluster, an idle node must randomly steal many times to obtain a task from another node, especially, this problem severely affects performance in systems where only a few nodes generate most of the system workload. In this paper, we present an efficient dynamic scheduling algorithm, Transitive Random Stealing (TRS) based on random stealing, which makes any idle node rapidly obtain a task from another node for irregular load distributions in a large-scale cluster. Then by the random baseline technique, we experimentally compare TRS with Shis, one of load balance policies in the EARTH system, and random stealing for different load distributions in the Tsinghua EastSun cluster and show that TRS is a highly efficient scheduling algorithm for irregular load distributions in a large-scale cluster. Finally, TRS is implemented in the Jcluster environment, a high performance Java parallel environment, and an experiment result is given in the HKU Gideon 300 cluster. Because of perspective distortion between the camera and the license plate, slanted images commonly appear in License Plate Recognition System (LPR system), and it seriously affects the recognition result. This paper presents two types of image slant, and gives an efficient way to rectify them. For horizontal slant correction, the proposed method is based on connected areas labeling and straight-line fitting. For vertical slant correction, the method is based on rotation experiments with various angles. Practical use in the LPR system shows that this method has a correct rate above 97%. Existing sketch recognition algorithms are mainly on recognizing single segments or simple geometric objects (such as rectangles) in a stroke. We present in this paper an on-line sketch recognition algorithm for composite shapes. It can recognize single shape segments such as straight line, polygon, circle, circular arc, ellipse, elliptical arc, hyperbola, and parabola curves in a stroke, as well as any composition of these segments in a stroke. Our algorithm first segments the stroke into multi-segments based on a key point detection algorithm. Then we use "combination" fitting method to fit segments in sequence iteratively. The algorithm is already incorporated into a hand sketching based modeling prototype, and experiments show that our algorithm is efficient and well suited for real time on-line applications.
