It states that Leela sees to it that her songs are not only beautifully composed but offers messages of hope and empowerment especially to Native women. It offers information on her family, education and career. It highlights how her first compact disc, "Spirit World, Solid Wood" propelled her to a musical career which bestowed on her various prestigious music awards.

Chapter 4 of the book "Native Musicians in the Groove" is presented. It features the Native American punk rock group called Blackfire. The band is composed of Benally siblings Jeneda who is the bass player, Clayson the drummer, and Klee, the lead vocalist and guitarist. It recounts how the band was created in 1990 after performing in an event at the invitation of their mother's friends. It mentions their song "Silence Is a Weapon" that won the 2008 Nammy for Record of the Year.

Chapter 3 of the book "Native Musicians in the Groove" is presented. It features country music singer Crystal Shawanda. It narrates the challenges Shawanda encountered in the Reserve community where she lives and finding music as the sort of freedom and salvation. It tells how adopted Youngblood overcame obstacles since she was a child to become a two-time Grammy music awardee. It expounds on Youngblood finding music as an outlet for her emotions at the time when she was experiencing racial discrimination, loneliness and seclusion in her elementary days. It states the circumstances of her life culminating to Grammy awards.

It features Cherokee musician Michael Bucher and offers information about his early life in Chicago, Illinois and the role his family played on his love and pride for his Indian heritage and music.
