Information about the condition of Africa in the twenty-first century is presented. It claims that the continent is politically the most unstable and financially the most feeble, wherein social, economic and public health plagued almost every country in the continent. The emergence of Nelson Mandela as the first democratically elected president of the Republic of South Africa is also highlighted.

Chapter 17 of the book "State of Resistance: Popular Struggles in the Global South" is presented. It explores the increase in the campaigns against neoliberal policies in Sub-Saharan Africa from 2005 to 2006. It cites the action taken by social movements to demand for decent housing and healthy environment in slum areas in the region. The author emphasizes the challenge for the African social movements to deepen the legitimacy crisis of neoliberal model and to strengthen the opposition of African countries towards it.

It discusses the political, social and economic situation in Africa where Marxism influence is introduced, exhibited and exercised. It states that though African government does not adopt Marxist theory completely, it could still have negative impact on the country's problems on development and oppression.

The article focuses on the condition and the crisis faced by Africa when it was invaded by Europe, in which it transformed the face of the continent's social life, distorted ancient industry, and built slavery approaches depriving the natives of their land.
