- Abstract
This catalogue briefly describes the following 12 systems for student ratings of instruction in higher education: (1) Purdue Cafeteria System (Cafeteria); (2) Course Faculty Instrument (CFI); (3) Arizona Course/Instructor Evaluation Questionnaire (CIEQ); (4) Endeavor Instructional Rating System (Endeavor); (5) University of Washington Instructional Assessment System (IAS); (6) Instructor and Course Evaluation (ICE); (7) Instructor and Course Evaluation System (ICES); (8) Instructional Development and Effectiveness Assessment System (IDEA); (9) Instructor Designed Questionnaire (IDQ); (10) Student Instructional Report (SIR); (11) Student Instructional Rating System (SIRS); and (12) Student Perception of Teaching (SPOT). The information provided is intended to be used as a starting point for faculty who are primarly interested in adopting one of these systems, but it may also be helpful as an aid to those designing local systems to meet unique needs. Selection criteria includes attention to careful development and empirical validation. Information typically included for each system consists of the title, contact, format, results, special features, development and validation, and references. (RL)
