The increasing availability of massive information on the Web causes the need for information aggregation by filtering and ranking according to user΄s goals. In the last years both industrial and academic researchers have investigated the way in which quality of services can be described, matched, composed and monitored for service selection and composition. However, very few of them have considered the problem of evaluating and certifying the quality of the provided service information to reduce irrelevant information for service consumers, which is crucial to improve the efficiency and correctness of service composition and execution. This paper discusses several problems due to the lack of appropriate way to manage quality and context in service composition and execution, and proposes a research roadmap for reducing irrelevant service information based on context and quality aspects. While several techniques have been introduced for specifying and acquiring context and quality information associated with Web services, they consider such information representing the whole Web services. However, accessing to context and quality of data resources provided by Web services is crucial. This is particularly relevant for data-intensive Web services of which the context and quality of data resources will strongly impact on the service development and composition. In this paper we contribute an analysis of relationships among context, quality, and relevance, as well as their impact on the design and composition of Web services, in particular at the data resource level. Then, we propose several techniques to incorporate context and quality descriptions into REST APIs and RESTful services publishing. By implementing these features, RESTful Web services could allow the consumer to specify and query context and quality information associated with services and data resources, thus fostering the provision of high relevant data resources. The young mobile technologies, i.e Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, suffer of limitations and problems especially if the net is composed by many nodes. This trouble aspect affect also the design of Mobile Information System based on wireless networks. Our research focuses on the management of a business process in a mobile environment. This paper is about an approach to divide an unique workflow in different autonomous workflows each one controlled by a different actor. This fact allows the actors independence and the net partitioning limiting the number of hosts working in each subnet. The presented delegation model supports disconnected characteristics and the independent execution of the workflow parts that means the hosting of an independent engine in each controller. The research on data integration and service discovering has involved from the beginning different (not always overlapping) communities. Therefore, data and services are described with different models and different techniques to retrieve data and services have been developed. Nevertheless, from a user perspective, the border between data and services is often not so definite, since data and services provide a complementary vision about the available resources. In NeP4B (Networked Peers for Business), a project funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research, we developed a semantic approach for providing a uniform representation of data and services, thus allowing users to obtain sets of data and lists of web-services as query results. The NeP4B idea relies on the creation of a Peer Virtual View (PVV) representing sets of data sources and web services, i.e. an ontological representation of data sources which is mapped to an ontological representation of web services. The PVV is exploited for solving user queries: 1) data results are selected by adopting a GAV approach; 2) services are retrieved by an information retrieval approach applied on service descriptions and by exploiting the mappings on the PVV. The first workshop on Non-Functional Properties (NFP) and Service Level Agreements (SLA) in Service-Oriented Computing was held on September 17th, 2007 in Vienna, Austria in conjunction with the International Conference on Service Oriented Computing. This workshop aimed to bring together researchers and industry practitioners to foster a greater understanding of how the management of NFP and SLAs can assist businesses utilizing Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA) as well as to investigate the resulting research issues. These issues were felt to be highly relevant due to the increasing popularity of SOA and the fact that whilst the foundations of SOA functionality are now well understood, non-functional properties are not.
