What does education mean? Education establishes a relationship between the subject and the world, according to the premise of this volume - education is understood as inevitably social. The authors provide an overview of the socio-educational discourse on education based on the three subject areas of social education with theoretical considerations, education and social work as well as education in child and youth welfare., Was bedeutet Bildung? Die Autor*innen geben Einblicke in sozialpädagogische und anthropologische Diskurse um Bildung anhand der drei Themenbereiche theoretische Beiträge zu Sozialer Bildung, Bildung und Soziale Arbeit sowie Bildung in der Kinder- und Jugendhilfe.

In der Erziehungswissenschaft werden biographische Bildungsprozesse überwiegend als Transformationen des Welt- und Selbstverhältnisses aus Anlass krisenhafter Erfahrungen untersucht. In letzter Zeit hat sich die Kritik dieses Verständnisses jedoch intensiviert, da sich die Vielfalt an Bildungsanlässen und -bewegungen innerhalb von Lebensgeschichten so nur unzureichend berücksichtigen lässt. Anfragen an konzeptionelle Engführungen, die entstehen, wenn biographische Bildungsprozesse ausschließlich als durch Krisen ausgelöst betrachtet werden, sind ebenfalls Gegenstand der im vorliegenden Band versammelten Beiträge. Sie beleuchten bestehende Annahmen, entwickeln neue Perspektiven und entfalten sie durch differenzierte empirische Analysen. Auf diese Weise lädt der Band dazu ein, bildungstheoretische Konzeptualisierungen für die qualitative Bildungs- und Biographieforschung zu überdenken und über drängende Fragen der Transformativität, Relationalität und Normativität nachzudenken.; In the educational sciences, biographical educational processes have so far been studied predominantly in connection with experiences of crisis and in dual categories. This volume counters this conceptual narrowness with a collection of different contributions that attempt to think about modalities and occasions of education beyond crises. The alternative approaches help to further discuss conceptualizations of education theory.

This open access book is designed and written to bridge the gap on the critical issues identified in environmental education programs in Asian countries. The world and its environments are changing rapidly, and the public may have difficulty keeping up and understanding how these changes will affect our way of life. The authors discuss various topics and case studies from an Asian perspective, but the content, messaging, and lessons learned need not be limited to Asian cultures. Each chapter provides a summary of the intensive research that has been performed on pro-environmental behaviors, the experience of people working in industry and at home, and their philosophies that guide them in their daily lives. We highlight humanity’s potential to contribute to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by understanding better the environmental psychology, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability and stewardship protection elements that contribute to responsible environmental citizenship. The content of the chapters in this book includes a discussion of the crucial issues, plans, and evaluations for sustainability theories, practices, and actions with a proposed management structure for maximizing the cultural, social, and ecological diversity of Asian experiences compared to other theories and cultures internationally. We intend that the data in this book will provide a comprehensive guide for students, professors, practitioners, and entrepreneurs of environmental education and its related disciplines using case studies that demonstrate the relationship between the social and behavioral sciences and environmental leadership and sustainability.

The question of ethics in pedagogical relationships, i.e., what is to be evaluated as right or wrong, appropriate or inappropriate, required or to be omitted, arises again and again at any time. This is currently impressively demonstrated by the ambivalences of the regulation of closeness and distance as well as the intersubjective recognition process, which have become alarmingly visible in the wake of the numerous uncovered cases of forcibly imposed closeness and other forms of violence. The authors shed light on questions of ethics in pedagogical relationships from different disciplines and invite us to reflect and think further., Die Frage einer Ethik in pädagogischen Beziehungen, d.h., was als richtig oder falsch, angemessen oder unangemessen, geboten oder zu unterlassen zu bewerten ist, stellt sich zu jeder Zeit immer wieder neu. Das zeigt sich aktuell eindrücklich an den Ambivalenzen der Regulation von Nähe und Distanz sowie des intersubjektiven Anerkennungsgeschehens, die in der Folge der zahlreichen aufgedeckten Fälle gewaltsam aufgezwungener Nähe und anderer Formen von Gewalt in erschreckender Weise sichtbar geworden sind. Die Autor:innen beleuchten Fragen einer Ethik in pädagogischen Beziehungen aus unterschiedlichen Disziplinen und laden zum Nach- und Weiterdenken ein.

The historical and theoretical relationship between education and the body is the focus of this discourse-analytical study. It is situated at the interface of systematic educational science and historical educational research and looks at both the current debate on educational theory and the pedagogical discussions at the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century. The starting point of the analyses is a theoretical phenomenon called disembodiment. This term refers to different dynamics that in their totality aim at the discursive exclusion and marginalisation of corporeality in the discourse on education. Three works from different currents of pedagogy are examined more closely for this purpose: Campe's 'Allgemeine Revision des gesammten Schul- und Erziehungswesens' (1785-1792), Niemeyer's 'Grundsätze der Erziehung und des Unterrichts' (1796-1824/5) and two writings by Schwarz, the 'Erziehungslehre' (1802-1813) and the 'Lehrbuch der Erziehung und Unterrichtslehre' (1805-1835). In addition to a presentation of the spectrum of perspectives on physical education, a reconstruction of the historical discourse of so-called physical education and case analyses of the anthropological contexts, the study is able to show that disembodiment tendencies can be traced not only in the current discourse, but already at the turn of the 19th century., Das geschichtliche sowie theoretische Verhältnis von Erziehung und Körper steht im Zentrum dieser diskursanalytisch angelegten Studie. Diese ist an der Schnittstelle von systematischer Erziehungswissenschaft und historischer Bildungsforschung angesiedelt und betrachtet sowohl die aktuelle erziehungstheoretische Debatte als auch die pädagogischen Diskussionen am Ende des 18. und zu Beginn des 19. Jahrhunderts. Ausgangspunkt der Analysen ist ein theoretisches Phänomen, das als Entkörperung bezeichnet wird. Mit diesem Begriff sind unterschiedliche Dynamiken gemeint, die in ihrer Gesamtheit auf die diskursive Ausgrenzung und Marginalisierung von Körperlichkeit in der Rede über Erziehung zielen. Drei Werke aus unterschiedlichen Strömungen der Pädagogik sind hierfür näher untersucht: Die von Campe herausgegebene ‚Allgemeine Revision des gesammten Schul- und Erziehungswesens‘ (1785–1792), die ‚Grundsätze der Erziehung und des Unterrichts‘ (1796–1824/5) von Niemeyer und zwei Schriften von Schwarz, die ‚Erziehungslehre‘ (1802–1813) sowie das ‚Lehrbuch der Erziehung und Unterrichtslehre‘ (1805–1835). Neben einer Darstellung des Spektrums der körperpädagogischen Perspektiven, einer Rekonstruktion des historischen Diskurses der sogenannten physischen Erziehung und Fallanalysen zu den anthropologischen Kontexten, kann die Untersuchung im Ergebnis zeigen, dass nicht nur im aktuellen Diskurs, sondern bereits an der Wende zum 19. Jahrhundert Entkörperungstendenzen nachzuweisen sind. (DIPF/Orig.)
