Chapter 3 of the book "Expulsión y Exilio de la Provincia Mexicana 1767-1820" is presented. It considers the effect of the extinction of the Jesuit religious order on its members, describes the living conditions of the exiled Jesuit priests in and around Bologna, Italy, and discusses the consequences for the ex-Jesuits of the invasion of Italy in 1796 by French general Napoleon Bonaparte.
