OBESITY, CARDIOVASCULAR diseases, INSULIN resistance, METABOLISM, BODY mass index
Abstract
The article presents a study which identifies the linkage of obesity as a significant predictor of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ACVD). Researchers found out that central fat distribution is closely linked with a state of insulin resistance and the metabolic abnormalities. ACVD is closely associated with adiposity as measured by either weight, body mass index or measures of central fat accumulation.
