The article focuses on the position that the creator of the most widely recognized Confederate flag would take on the argument regarding Georgia's state flag. The author suggests that because of Pierre Gustave Toutant Beauregard's interests in economic success, he would encourage Georgians to abandon the fight for the Southern Cross on the state flag because of the image's polarizing effect.
