Their resilience to harsh environments, nutritional density, cultural significance, and potential to enhance dietary quality index made them valuable assets in global agriculture. Recognizing their pivotal role, the United Nations designated 2023 as the “International Year of Millets (IYoM 2023),” emphasizing their contribution to climate-resilient agriculture and nutritional enhancement. Scientific progress has invigorated efforts to enhance millet production through genetic and genomic interventions, yielding a wealth of advanced molecular breeding technologies and multi-omics resources. These advancements offer opportunities to tackle prevailing challenges in millet, such as anti-nutritional factors, sensory acceptability issues, toxin contamination, and ancillary crop improvements. This review provides a comprehensive overview of molecular breeding and multi-omics resources for nine major millet species, focusing on their potential impact within the framework of IYoM. These resources include whole and pan-genome, elucidating adaptive responses to abiotic stressors, organelle-based studies revealing evolutionary resilience, markers linked to desirable traits for efficient breeding, QTL analysis facilitating trait selection, functional gene discovery for biotechnological interventions, regulatory ncRNAs for trait modulation, web-based platforms for stakeholder communication, tissue culture techniques for genetic modification, and integrated omics approaches enabled by precise application of CRISPR/Cas9 technology. Aligning these resources with the seven thematic areas outlined by IYoM catalyzes transformative changes in millet production and utilization, thereby contributing to global food security, sustainable agriculture, and enhanced nutritional consequences. The portrayal of millets in the context of the International Year of Millets (IYoM) framework includes a roadmap for their enhancement through future interventions, utilizing multi-omics resources. This paper focuses on finding the criteria adopted by users to select free information retrieved from the Web for academic use. A close-ended questionnaire was formulated to record the opinions of the respondents. A survey for various categories of users such as post graduate students, research scholars and faculty members from five universities of Chandigarh, Haryana, and Punjab was administered. The category-wise and discipline-wise analysis depicted that quite a good number of respondents applied various parameters while referring to Web resources, but a reasonable number of users did not apply certain parameters to verify the nature of free information being used for educational purposes. The convenience factor leads them to depend on free Web resources which can be accessed anywhere and saves time. The findings of the study suggest that user education programs should be conducted to create awareness regarding the credibility of the subscribed library resources and their effectiveness in enhancing the quality of teaching, learning, and research. This study explores the application of extensive data analysis to library information resources, focusing on enhancing the efficiency of resource utilization and user satisfaction through personalized recommendation services. We employ cluster analysis algorithms, and least squares support vector machines to model library users’ borrowing behaviors. Additionally, we use the Apriori algorithm and collaborative filtering to recommend books effectively. This study’s experimental outcomes show a notable 11.36% increase in the index of network resource demand satisfaction, indicating a significant enhancement in the library’s ability to meet resource update demands. The adoption of big data analytics has been instrumental in advancing library information management and expanding extensive data services. The findings underscore the pivotal role of big data in enhancing the efficiency of information resource utilization and elevating user satisfaction, mainly through personalized recommendations.

The aim of this study is to present those works that are particularly interesting for the research of Egyptian ceramics during the New Kingdom (1539-1077 BC), for those who are new to the world of Egyptology and, in particular, to the study of Egyptian ceramics. At the same time, we show some works that could be useful to know the main events in the historical context that took place during the dynasties that cover this period of Egypt’s History. On the other hand, despite the fact that today there are monographs and works on paper that are not available on the web, which are conceived as works of obligatory consultation, we have the opportunity to access to tools and resources that numerous web pages facilitate the world of research. This paper presents some of the above mentioned web resources.

The discovery process of pesticides is confronting more and more difficult obstacles, including the rising costs of materials and labor, which are costly and time-consuming. Pesticide informatics brings an opportunity for structure-based molecular design and optimization, which could improve the efficiency of pesticides discovery. However, there are still some problems in using informatics methods to improve the efficiency of pesticide discovery. Here, we provide a summary of databases and tools used in pesticide informatics, including those for target information search, virtual screening (VS), scaffold optimization, and pesticide-likeness assessment. Moreover, some successful cases of hit compound optimization utilizing the aforementioned approaches were dissected. We hope this review can guide researchers choose appropriate techniques to increase the effectiveness of hit compounds identification and optimization.

Cancer patients may face difficulty evaluating web-based COVID-19 resources in context with their cancer diagnosis. The purpose of this study is to systematically evaluate educational resources available for cancer patients seeking online information on COVID-19 and cancer. The term "COVID-19 and Cancer" was searched in Google and metasearch engines Yippy and Dogpile. After applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, the results from the 3 lists were systematically combined for a final ranked list. This list was analyzed using a validated structured rating tool with respect to accountability, interactivity, organization, readability, and content coverage and accuracy. Three hundred ninety-eight websites were identified, and 37 websites were included for analysis. Only 43% of sites disclosed authorship, 24% cited sources, and 32% were updated within 3 months of the search date. Fifty-four percent of websites had high school readability (8.0–12.0), 43% were at university level or above, and no websites demonstrated the recommended reading level for health information for the public (< 6.0). Topics most discussed were special considerations for cancer patients during COVID-19 (84%) and COVID-19 risk factors (73%). Topics least covered were COVID-19 incidence/prevalence (5%) and prognosis (8%). There is some COVID-19 information for cancer patients available online, but quality is variable. Healthcare professionals may direct cancer patients to the most reliable COVID-19 and cancer websites shown in this study and results may be helpful when designing future online health information resources. This study aims to evaluate the usage of Internet resources for COVID-19 information among cancer patients. Specifically, to understand where patients are seeking information, what topics are most frequently searched, and how physicians and web developers can improve clinical conversations and digital resources, respectively, to support cancer patients' needs. From May to June 2021, cancer patients who were attending follow-up at a tertiary cancer center completed a survey consisting of 28 closed and open-ended questions. Quantitative results were evaluated using descriptive statistics and qualitative responses were evaluated using a grounded-theory approach. Fifty-seven surveys were distributed, and fifty-two surveys were received (91% response rate). The majority of respondents (96%) were Internet users. Seventy percent used the Internet as a source of information about COVID-19 and cancer personally, with another 15% reporting that friends and family accessed online information on their behalf. The vast majority used Google as their choice of search engine, with COVID-19 rates and vaccine information being the most frequently searched topics. Three quarters (74%) considered Internet information easy to understand, and 90% stated that the Internet increased their understanding of COVID-19 and cancer. Only 15% of patients had been recommended online resource(s) by a physician, yet 100% of those patients found the physician-recommended sites useful. Most cancer patients use the Internet to search for COVID-19 information. Healthcare professionals (HCPs) should help guide patients towards credible online sources and address knowledge gaps to improve physician–patient communication and support educational needs. The complex binomial teaching and learning is often approached from the modes and models that teachers carry out in their tasks: teaching planning, the implementation of teaching planning, that is, teaching itself, and finally the evaluation of the results of the planning that was executed. However, what happens to the student's action, how are their modes and models of learning, what strategies they use and what study materials they use in the reconstruction of their knowledge. Therefore, our objective is to describe what study materials are used by the students of Anatomy of the First Chair of the Faculty of Medicine of the U.B.A., whether these are graphics or of another nature. It is a descriptive-exploratory, prospective, cross-sectional and observational research. It is proposed to characterize, from the voices of the students, the study materials in general, in particular the graphic and virtual media around the resources used in the framework of the university study of Anatomy in the career of Medicine through a semi-structured and self-administered questionnaire. We found that 99% study books, although 37% of respondents use informal editing notes. The main negative elements of the book is its extension (60%), but not its monetary value. 91% report that they use web resources to study, mostly those provided by the chair (48%) and in second place they look for anatomy videos (42%). 72% believe that the ideal book should be concise and inexpensive. 83% report that they always prepare the practical work and 93% choose to listen to the assistant teacher and review the practical work prior to the exam. The generation of materials by teachers is well accepted. Most students use books to study, however, they complement them with socalled notes. Books with a larger volume of information are viewed negatively and agree that the ideal book is inexpensive, concise, and error-free. Almost all students use web resources for their study. The aim of this study is to assess the Internet usage pattern amongst glioma patients and to characterize its impact in their decision-making and clinical interactions. Glioma patients attending a tertiary cancer center between June and December 2019 were invited to participate in this study. A 26-item survey consisting of closed and open-ended questions was distributed with a unique identifier. Quantitative data were analyzed with descriptive statistics using SPSS Statistical package, and qualitative data with grounded theory approach. Thirty-two patients completed the survey. Demographics varied in age, time since diagnosis, glioma type, and level of education. Eighty-one percent were identified as "Internet users" who sought online glioma information. Google was the most popular search engine (96%), with "glioma" being the most frequent search term. The selection of websites often relied on perceived credibility and top search hits. The most searched topic was prognosis (73%). The majority of patients found that online information was easy to understand, and this did not vary significantly amongst age groups. Website quality was always assessed by 60% of patients. Only 62% patients found the Internet a useful resource, and 70% patients found it facilitated their understanding. Most patients discussed their Internet findings with a physician, largely regarding concerns about reliability. There is variable glioma information available online. Patients with glioma use the Internet as a resource, with variable impact on their interactions and decision-making. With advancements in omics technology, metagenomics is known to play a vital role in microbial world studies by unlocking the uncultured microbial populations present in the environment. Metagenomics is a diagnostic tool to target unique signature loci of plant and animal pathogens as well as beneficial microorganisms from samples. Here, we reviewed various aspects of metagenomics from experimental methods to techniques used for sequencing, as well as diversified computational resources, including databases and software tools. Exhaustive focus and study are conducted on the application of metagenomics in agriculture, deciphering various areas, including pathogen and plant disease identification, disease resistance breeding, plant pest control, weed management, abiotic stress management, post-harvest management, discoveries in agriculture, source of novel molecules/compounds, biosurfactants and natural product, identification of biosynthetic molecules, use in genetically modified crops, and antibiotic-resistant genes. Metagenomics-wide association studies study in agriculture on crop productivity rates, intercropping analysis, and agronomic field is analyzed. Traditional drug discovery effectively contributes to the treatment of many diseases but is limited by high costs and long cycles. Quantitative structure–activity relationship (QSAR) methods were introduced to evaluate the activity of compounds virtually, which saves the significant cost of determining the activities of the compounds experimentally. Over the past two decades, many web tools for QSAR modeling with various features have been developed to facilitate the usage of QSAR methods. These web tools significantly reduce the difficulty of using QSAR and indirectly promote drug discovery. However, there are few comprehensive summaries of these QSAR tools, and researchers may have difficulty determining which tool to use. Hence, we systematically surveyed the mainstream web tools for QSAR modeling. This work may guide researchers in choosing appropriate web tools for developing QSAR models, and may also help develop more bioinformatics tools based on these existing resources. G protein–coupled receptors (GPCRs) are implicated in nearly all physiological processes in the human body and represent an important drug targeting class. The genes encoding the different GPCR (sub)types determine their specific functionality, which can be altered by natural genetic variants and isoforms. Deciphering the molecular link between sequence diversity and its functional consequences is a current challenge and critical for the comprehension of the physiological response of GPCRs. It requires a global understanding of how protein sequence translates into protein structure, how this impacts the structural motions of the protein, and, finally, how all these factors determine the receptor functionality. Background Meningiomas are the most common primary central nervous system tumors and patients face difficulty evaluating resources available online. The purpose of this study is to systematically evaluate the educational resources available for patients seeking meningioma information on the Internet. Methods A total of 127 meningioma websites were identified by inputting the term "meningioma" on Google and two meta-search engines. A structured rating tool developed by our research group was applied to top 100 websites to evaluate with respect to accountability, interactivity, readability, and content quality. Responses to general and personal patient questions were evaluated for promptness, accuracy, and completeness. The frequency of various social media account types was analyzed. Results Of 100 websites, only 38% disclosed authorship, and 32% cited sources. Sixty-two percent did not state date of creation or modification, and 32% provided last update less than 2 years ago. Websites most often discussed the definition (99%), symptoms (97%), and treatment (96%). Prevention (8%) and prognosis (47%) were most often not covered. Only 3% of websites demonstrated recommended reading level for general population. Of 84 websites contacted, 42 responded, 32 within 1 day. Conclusions Meningioma information is readily available online, but quality varies. Sites often lack markers for accountability, and content may be difficult to comprehend. Information on specific topics are often not available for patients. Physicians can direct meningioma patients to appropriate reliable online resources depicted in this study. General Chemistry covers a wide variety of structure-property relationships that rely upon electronic, atomic, crystal or molecular factors. Giving students experimental data will allow them to identify the structure-property patterns as well as identify the limit of predictability of such patterns. “ChemEd X Data” is a web interface designed by the author that facilitates the navigation, filtering and graphical representation of chemical and physical data. It can assist students at identifying trends in structure-property relationships, they can create controlled experiments to test a relationship as well as investigating how different molecular factors may affect a single macroscopic property. In particular, since the site offers unstructured but dynamically searchable data, it is designed to have students learn control of variable strategies (CVS). This paper describes the implementation of a five-step sequence of activities related to structure-property relationships in a General Chemistry semester. ChemEd X Data is used for the open-ended or data-driven steps of this sequence. Student performance is analyzed with the objective of understanding which activities require a higher cognitive skill, as well as identify student previous performances that correlate with success in the activities and in the course in general.

Abstract Background A national Do Not Attempt Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation policy was rolled out for the National Health Service in Wales in 2015. A national steering group led on producing information videos and a website for patients, carers and healthcare professionals, forming part of a quality improvement program. Videos were planned, scripted and produced with healthcare professionals and patient/carer representatives, and were completed with both English and Welsh language versions. The TalkCPR videos encourage and promote open discussion about Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and DNACPR in palliative care situations. Methods We worked with patient/carer groups to evaluate whether video resources to convey the salient facts involved in CPR and DNACPR decisions for people with palliative and life-limiting illness were acceptable or not. We conducted a mixed-method design service review in five phases to evaluate whether this technological resource could help. After creating video and website materials, they were evaluated by doctors, nurses and a patient/carer group. We also sent out one lightweight TalkCPR video media pad to each practice in Wales. These rechargeable electronic video media pads had communication videos pre-loaded for easy viewing, especially in areas with poor roaming data coverage. Results Videos were demonstrably acceptable to both patient and carer groups, and improved healthcare professional confidence and understanding. Videos went live on the TalkCPR website, in all Welsh Health Boards and on Youtube, and are now used in routine practice throughout Wales. Conclusion This is the first time that DNACPR information videos are aimed directly at palliative care patients and carers, to explore this sensitive subject with them, and to encourage them to approach their doctor or nurse about it. The website, app and video media pads were developed by patients, the Digital Legacy Association, Welsh NHS IT services, Welsh Government, the Bevan Commission and the Dying Matters Charity in Wales ‘Byw Nawr’. The GMC, the Royal College of General Practitioners and NICE have listed TalkCPR as a learning resource. There has also been a collaboration with Falmouth University Art College, who helped produce graphic designs to facilitate and encourage discussions about CPR and end of life care.

In many under-resourced contexts, college teachers who have students with special needs are often insufficiently supported due to external constraints, such as limited teacher training or geographical constraints. To promote educational equity as well as college teachers' development in underresourced contexts, this paper provides a model that highlights the role of college teachers' self-directed development in relation to the use of web resources as knowledge suppliers. In particular, with disorder of written expression in English as the focus, the study demonstrates how college English teachers gain a systematic and multi-layered understanding of writing as a meaning-based activity through their self-directed use of web resources to best help their students. This paper concludes with implications in relation to the potential challenges of implementing the model at various levels in under-resourced contexts (e.g., the role of institutional assistance). Despite the development of novel teaching strategies and the abundance of adjunct teaching web resources, students and early career physicians have continuously reported difficulties in learning and clinically applying neuroanatomy. Differences in instructional design of these resources, the lack of assessment of their capacity to meet intended educational goals, and a poor understanding of the user's perspective may have hindered their success in increasing understanding and retention of neuroanatomical knowledge. To decipher the limitations of existing web resources, an online search for neuroanatomy web resources was performed and distilled through a strict filtration rubric. A selection of resources were analyzed by a panel of educators and rated using Likert scales, focusing on the identification of features influencing their usefulness in learning the anatomy of the spinal pathways. The top three ranked web resources were subsequently evaluated by a panel of medical and neuroscience students to assess how specific features aided in their learning of the subject. This detailed analysis has identified features of neuroanatomy web resources that are valued by both educators and users with regard to instructional design. One resource was rated highest by end users and educators on a series of Likert scale questions in terms of clarity of explanation, step‐wise teaching design, summarization of information, control of instructional‐pace, integration with neurophysiology, neuroradiology and clinical correlates, deployment of a wide array of pedagogical tools, and factors for visualizing neuroanatomical inter‐relationships. These results have provided a novel user perspective on the influence of specific elements of neuroanatomy web resources to improve instructional design and enhance learner performance. The web-based, Java-written SOCR (Statistical Online Computational Resource) tools have been utilized in many undergraduate and graduate level statistics courses for seven years now. It has been proven that these resources can successfully improve students' learning. Being �first published online in 2005, SOCR Analyses is a somewhat new component and it concentrate on data modeling for both parametric and non-parametric data analyses with graphical model diagnostics. One of the main purposes of SOCR Analyses is to facilitate statistical learning for high school and undergraduate students. As we have already implemented SOCR Distributions and Experiments, SOCR Analyses and Charts ful�ll the rest of a standard statistics curricula. Currently, there are four core components of SOCR Analyses. Linear models included in SOCR Analyses are simple linear regression, multiple linear regression, one-way and two-way ANOVA. Tests for sample comparisons include t-test in the parametric category. Some examples of SOCR Analyses' in the non-parametric category are Wilcoxon rank sum test, Kruskal-Wallis test, Friedman's test, Kolmogorov-Smirno� test and Fligner-Killeen test. Hypothesis testing models include contingency table, Friedman's test and Fisher's exact test. The last component of Analyses is a utility for computing sample sizes for normal distribution. In this article, we present the design framework, computational implementation and the utilization of SOCR Analyses.

Our oceans are in trouble and need our help; there is simply no disputing this basic alert. Most of the big fish are gone and the rest contain mercury and PCB’s. Beaches close after single rainstorms, and “pristine” coral reefs are a thing of the past. These large-scale problems must be confronted on multiple levels and from the top-down and bottom-up. Citizen Science projects, which train non-scientists to work with scientific researchers, take a bottom-up approach to solving such problems by increasing awareness and stewardship, and expanding the scales at which research, monitoring, and conservation can be conducted. The Citizen Science Portal Project (CSPP) details a plan to add a new web portal to the Scripps Institution of Oceanography’s Center for Marine Biodiversity and Conservation’s (CMBC) website. This portal will provide a collective resource for southern California citizen science projects that are helping contribute consorted effort to preserve and increase marine biodiversity. With individual citizen science projects existing nationally and internationally, the Citizen Science Portal Project embarks to bring together all projects and necessary background information into one user-friendly resource embedded in the CMBC’s website. As projects are identified through literature and Internet searches, baseline information is obtained through personal interviews with project directors to be posted on the website. By providing this resource, the CMBC will not only provide the latest marine biodiversity research and news, but will also provide a platform to increase the citizen involvement and stewardship necessary for protecting marine life and resources.

В процессе обучения русскому языку немалая роль отводится формированию, улучшению и увеличению активного словарного запаса школьника. В соответствии с Федеральным государственным образовательным стандартом выпускник школы должен владеть богатым словарным запасом, а коммуникативные компетенции должны отражать высокий уровень владения лексикой. В статье речь идет о принципе интерактивности, влияющем на развитие современной лексикографии. Анализируется определенный тип словарей – интерактивные, позволяющие пользователям активно взаимодействовать как с самими словарными статьями, редактируя их, так и между собой, дискутируя по поводу отбора лексем в том или ином словаре. Сегодня интерактивный словарь является способом коммуникации и самовыражения, постоянно растущим ресурсом, мгновенно реагирующим на малейшие изменения окружающего мира. Раскрываются характеристики основных, наиболее востребованных в школьной практике интерактивных словарей. Акцент сделан на специфику использования интерактивных словарей разных видов в процессе обучения школьников разных категорий: одаренных детей, детей с ограниченными возможностям здоровья, а также тех, для которых русский язык является неродным. Новизна статьи заключается в том, что интерактивные словари и веб-ресурсы описаны с точки зрения собственного педагогического опыта.

The dynamic growth of technological capabilities at the cellular and molecular level has led to a rapid increase in the amount of data on the genes and genomes of organisms. In order to store, access, compare, validate, classify, and understand the massive data generated by different researchers, and to promote effective communication among research communities, various genome and cytogenetic online databases have been established. These data platforms/resources are essential not only for computational analyses and theoretical syntheses but also for helping researchers select future research topics and prioritize molecular targets. Furthermore, they are valuable for identifying shared recurrent genomic patterns related to human diseases and for avoiding unnecessary duplications among different researchers. The website interface, menu, graphics, animations, text layout, and data from databases are displayed by a front end on the screen of a monitor or smartphone. A database front-end refers to the user interface or application that enables accessing tabular, structured, or raw data stored in the database. The Internet makes it possible to reach a greater number of users around the world and gives them quick access to information stored in databases. The number of ways of presenting this data by front-ends increases as well. This requires unifying the ways of operating and presenting information by front-ends and ensuring contextual switching between front-ends of different databases. This chapter aims to present selected cytogenetic and cytogenomic Internet resources in terms of obtaining the needed information and to indicate how to increase the efficiency of access to stored information. Through a brief introduction of these databases and by providing examples of their usage in cytogenetic analyses, we aim to bridge the gap between cytogenetics and molecular genomics by encouraging their utilization., (© 2024. Purpose -- The article provides an overview of possible input criteria when archiving web pages through web archives and describes what impact their settings may have on the resulting archive data in the content, format, and technical plane. Setting the input parameters for web archiving directly determines the resulting form of archive content, and if research is done over these data, researchers need to know the source of the data. Without this knowledge, it is not possible for researchers to use archival data as representative source. Design/Methodology/Approach -- The basic method for article processing was data analysis of the index, i.e. the list of all digital objects of the Czech Web Archive (the Webarchiv) of the National Library of the Czech Republic, and the input variables in the creation of archival data. Specifically, their provenance, authenticity, or content was investigated. Furthermore, the technical side of the archiving concerns, for example, the setting of the harvesters. The analysis is based on experience and was performed with the actual harvested data. Results -- The article summarises the factors that influence the resulting form of archive data. First, there are factors that directly affect data collection, such as technical settings, resource Collection policy, and legislation. Second, there are factors concerning the handling of archive data, in particular rules for deleting and limiting access to content. The article also describes web archive index analysis that brought a quantified view of the archive and showed the numbers of digital objects, layout of file formats, domain composition, and archive development over time. Originality/Value -- The greatest benefit of the article is a comprehensive overview of the data stored in the Webarchiv, how they are created and what affects their creation. Digital three-dimensional models of the existing architectonic structures are created for the purpose of digitalization of the archive documents, presentation of buildings or an urban entity or for conducting various analyses and tests. Traditional methods for the creation of 3D models of the existing buildings assume manual measuring of their dimensions, using the photogrammetry method or laser scanning. Such approaches require considerable time spent in data acquisition or application of specific instruments and equipment. The goal of this paper is presentation of the procedure for the creation of 3D models of the existing structures using the globally available web resources and free software packages on standard PCs. This shortens the time of the production of a digital three-dimensional model of the structure considerably and excludes the physical presence at the location. In addition, precision of this method was tested and compared with the results acquired in a previous research.
