With the aim of identifying the relationship between competency certification and enterprise productivity and sustainable development, we utilized elements of the systemic competency management approach in our review, along with its connection to the objectives of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development proposed by the United Nations. As a result, labor competency certification is considered a tool that strengthens individuals' competencies while simultaneously enhancing the competitive rivalry of enterprises and promoting sustainable development. The Abras de Mantequilla wetland, located in Ecuador, is considered a RAMSAR site because of its extreme importance for aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, this place faces challenges due to human activities such as water extraction, deforestation and fishing exploitation. There is a pressing need to protect this wetland not only to maintain its biodiversity, but also for its essential functions, such as water retention and purification. The present study focused on soil fertility, particularly in relation to arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF), in the secondary forest "Noé Morán" within the Abras de Mantequilla wetland. The key role of AMF in improving soil fertility was highlighted. The methods used included soil sampling and identification of AMF species, as well as analysis of soil physical and chemical properties. Soil samples were collected from the root zone of four tree species (Castilla elástica, Albizia saman, Erythrina poeppigiana and Duguetia peruviana) and taken to the laboratory for analysis. The results showed differences in soil physicochemical properties among the forest species studied, as well as variations in the abundance and diversity of AMF species associated with each tree species. Background: The marine biorefinery is an emerging concept in the industry that seeks to maximize the use of natural resources through sustainable and efficient processes. This focuses on the use of marine resources in response to the need to find alternatives to traditional industrial processes that usually generate large amounts of waste and consume resources in a nonrenewable way. Aim. Conduct a review of the scientific literature on the importance of products derived from waste from the aquaculture industry, with a biorefinery approach in the context of the Cuban reality. Development: A search for information was carried out in the specialized scientific literature; Synthesizing the most important thing, it was possible to define the concept of biorefinery, based on the use of waste from the aquaculture industry, the products obtained from it, as well as its main characteristics and applications and the importance and advantages of applying this were raised. concept to the Cuban reality. Conclusions: The biorefinery using waste from the fishing industry is an innovative approach that seeks to make the most of all its components, including the by-products and waste generated. The contributions provided by educational centers in rural areas to sustainability are described. The research was conducted in the community of Calle Zamora, San Ramón, Costa Rica, through interviews with 120 residents and surveys of business owners to determine socio-economic and environmental aspects that have improved since the establishment of the Calle Zamora Technical Professional High School (CTPCZ) in this rural community. Antecedentes: La biorrefinería marina es un concepto emergente en la industria que busca maximizar la utilización de los recursos naturales a través de procesos sostenibles y eficientes. Esta se enfoca en el aprovechamiento de recursos marinos en respuesta a la necesidad de encontrar alternativas a los procesos industriales tradicionales que suelen generar grandes cantidades de residuos y consumir recursos de manera no renovable. Objetivo. Realizar una revisión de la literatura científica sobre la importancia de los productos derivados de los desperdicios de la industria acuícola, con un enfoque de biorrefinería en el contexto de la realidad cubana. Desarrollo: Se realizó una búsqueda de información en la literatura científica especializada; sintetizándose lo más importante, se logró definir el concepto de biorrefinería, basado en la utilización de desechos de la industria acuícola, los productos que se obtienen de la misma, así como sus principales características y aplicaciones y se planteó la importancia y ventajas de aplicar este concepto a la realidad cubana. Conclusiones: La biorrefinería a partir de desechos de la industria pesquera, es un enfoque innovador que busca aprovechar al máximo todos sus componentes, incluidos los subproductos y desechos generados, esta estrategia está muy relacionada con los principios de economía circular y promueve la sostenibilidad de la industria.

La producción de camarón en Colombia marcó un hito muy importante en la acuicultura del país en la década de los 90 y principios del 2000, llegando a aportar a la economía del país alrededor de USD$51.000.000. Sin embargo, varios aspectos fundamentales como la aparición de patógenos, la revaluación del peso colombiano, entre otros, ocasionaron una eventual caída en la producción no solo en el país sino también a nivel mundial. La reactivación de la industria se ha visto afectada, principalmente por la fuerte competencia en los mercados internacionales debido a la baja productividad resultante de la escasa tecnología utilizada en sistemas de producción sostenibles, así como por la implementación de nuevas fuentes de alimentación para el cultivo de este crustáceo. En este documento se exploran los desafíos y retos históricos y actuales en la producción del camarón Penaeus vanammei en Colombia.

Objective: Currently, human beings are feeling the effects of global warming and high temperatures, and it is necessary to seek new forms of ventilation. This work aims to develop a prototype in order to propose a sustainable solution to improve the residential indoor temperature. Methodology: To compare the internal temperature of a standard house, with an unconventional ventilation house that was proposed in the prototype, in order to verify its efficiency. For this, statistical analyzes were carried out through the data of the measurements carried out in the two prototypes, which occurred at different times (14:00 and 18:00) during the period of 51 days. Relevance: Natural ventilation implies a sustainable method constituted by the natural flow of air providing the environment with a more pleasant sensation, being very relevant to the quality of life of the human being. Results: By comparing the average internal temperature between them, it was possible to verify that the average internal temperature of the standard house was significantly higher than the house with unconventional ventilation, considering the heat period. It analyzed that factors such as climate, humidity, period (time) and the window inserted in the prototype, influenced the temperature of the environment. Conclusion: The main conclusion of the work is given by the fact that the proposed prototype provided a reduction in temperature using natural methods, and consequently a possible reduction in electricity consumption contributing to a more sustainable world. With the objective of identifying the generalities of the tourist modalities in Latin America and Europe. The research was of documentary design and the type of study is explanatory and bibliographic. The tourist modality seeks to be the differentiation that defines a specific way of doing tourism in relation to another, defines a singular aspect or condition that motivates the practice of tourism. The modalities are sun and beach tourism, ecotourism, rural tourism, urban tourism and adventure tourism. Teniendo en cuenta la agudización de la problemática del cambio climático de los últimos años, el sector constructor del país y específicamente en la ciudad de Cartagena, se han concientizado de sus aportes en la reproducción de conocimiento al sistema de certificación EDGE , para edificar de manera sostenible eligiendo innovación y alcanzando metas concretas en reducciones porcentuales en servicios públicos como agua, energía eléctrica y energía acumulada en los materiales utilizados en las obras de construcción; potencializando así la responsabilidad ambiental como valor agregado para propietarios de vivienda, beneficiándose con ahorro en servicios; También es un instrumento significativo en el proceso de ventas agiles y retorno de la inversión para el constructor, lo que genera beneficios en el acceso a tasas diferenciales en la financiación, descuentos en seguros, beneficios tributarios, entre otros.

Pretendemos desarrollar un proyecto de pesca en la ciudad de Bakau en Gambia, pequeño país de África Occidental rodeado por Senegal y perteneciente al Sahel (palabra árabe que significa “borde o costa”), con una estrecha costa en el Océano Atlántico. Es famoso por sus diversos ecosistemas en torno al río Gambia central, el protagonista como eje vertebrador, pues es el que da la vida a los pobladores a lo largo del río. Nuestro Objetivo Principal será que los pescadores locales puedan desempeñar su labor y, así poder, de esta manera, vivir de su trabajo, siendo por tanto autosuficientes y autónomos, tanto en el presente inmediato como en el futuro próximo. De este modo, este será el legado a sus hijos para que dicho proyecto sea sostenible y replicable en el tiempo y en el espacio.

The study aimed at identifying sustainable production practices on a rural property in Mato Grosso, Brazil from the perspective of the Circular Economy. The approach in the form of a single case study involved a location whose main activity is the production of grains and adopted qualitative data obtained through structured interviews with managers of the production units, observation and documentary research. The results show that, although sustainable production practices are adopted, there is room for advances. The study contributes by reporting sustainable production practices that can be related to circular agriculture, which has as the main goal the efficient and effective use of productive resources. La implementación de herramientas tecnológicas para automatizar y monitorear cultivos animales y vegetales, se ha convertido en un apoyo fundamental para el crecimiento cuantitativo y cualitativo de la producción sostenible de alimentos. Por ello, la optimización de dichos procesos desarrollados en instalaciones tradicionales garantiza su eficiencia, así como la de los insumos y productos. En este sentido, esta alternativa consiste en el diseño y construcción de un sistema acuapónico automatizado ubicado en el Centro de Biotecnología Agropecuaria (CBA) del SENA, mediante la automatización del proceso de cultivo acuapónico NFT para producir Carpa Roja (Cyprinus carpio) y Lechuga Crespa (Lactuca sativa), aplicando tecnologías industriales de bajo y mediano costo. Como resultado, se establecen estadísticas fiables en tiempo real para evaluar el crecimiento de la biomasa de los peces y las plantas en un tiempo determinado, añadiendo eficiencia al proceso en comparación con la siembra tradicional en suelo.

Objective of the Study: To analyze the role of social capital in developing sustainable micro-entrepreneurship among rural women. In addition, it also interprets the conceptual understanding of social capital, micro-entrepreneurship development, and the determinants that promote micro-entrepreneurship have been discussed. Relevance/Originality: There are numerous ways to achieve entrepreneurship, but social capital is one way to develop entrepreneurship. Social capital consists of mutual trust, understanding, reciprocity, social relation, collective actions, etc., among its group members. Methodology/Approach: This article presents a conceptual, theoretical framework by scrutinizing the archive literature to comprehend social capital's role in developing sustainable micro-entrepreneurship. Three forms of social capital, namely Self Help Group, SHG federation, and NGO, have been considered for this study. These social capitals then correlate with each of the indicators of micro-entrepreneurship identified and examined the role of social capital in developing sustainable micro-entrepreneurship among rural women. Main Results: Three forms of social capital such as SHG, SHG federation, and NGO that have been taken for this study, contributes to sustainable micro-entrepreneurship in various ways, i.e. SHG and SHG federation help in achieving social factors and financial inclusion, whereas NGOs provide entrepreneurial training and suitable business network for the women-owned enterprises. Theoretical/Methodological contributions: This study contributes to developing a theoretical framework by analyzing the pieces of literature that contribute to sustainable micro-entrepreneurship development through social capital. Social/management contributions: Social capital promotes sustainable micro-entrepreneurship, which leads to the employment generation, generates regular sources of income, addresses multiple social and economic issues, and promotes a better means of livelihood for rural women. Introduction-- The control of insects and mites' pests becomes a recurring theme in crops, which are fought using chemical products and often without the expected effectiveness. Methodology-- A bibliographic search of the publications on predatory mites in Colombia was carried out in indexed journals from 2010 to 2020 in order to assess the topics addressed. In addition, the species of predatory mites reported in Colombia since the 1970s were investigated. Results-- In the last decade, eight publications were obtained in Colombia on predatory mites that record the presence or use of Phytoseiulus persimilis, Neoseiulus anonymus, Neoseiulus californicus, Iphiseiodes zuluagai, Amblyseius herbicolus, Amblyseius sp., Gaeolaelaps aculeifer and Euseius concordis in various crops of economic importance such as citrus, guava, mango, yucca, cotton, sugar cane, ornamentals and others, with a wide geographic dispersion. Conclusions-- Scientific publications on predatory mites are not abundant in the last decade in Colombia, however, it is corroborated that there are reported a wide diversity of Ambliseus species and other genera of the Phytoseidae family and that the use in the productive practice of these do not correspond to the research results. Association with mycorrhizal fungi confers benefits to host plants. The successful establishment of the symbiosis improves the nutritional status of both organisms: while the fungus receives carbohydrates from its host, the plant benefits from the association by increasing the absorption of nutrients and minerals from the soil, as well as enhancing its resistance to biotic and abiotic stress. In the present work, the result of the use of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) and organic fertilizers in tomato plants as an ecologically sustainable strategy is shown, and the impact on the establishment of said colonization is analyzed. For this, staining and molecular methods were used to analyze the impact of organic fertilizers on mycorrhizal colonization. The findings indicate that the application of organic fertilizers in low proportion does not affect the establishment of mycorrhizal symbiosis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Podemos decir que la contribución de España al desarrollo de las finanzas sostenibles ha sido muy destacada. El fuerte crecimiento de este mercado se ha desencadenado en la segunda parte de la pasada década y España se consolida entre los diez mayores países que toman prestado dinero para proyectos con credenciales positivas para el medioambiente o con fines sociales destinados a colectivos desfavorecidos. Basados en el Informe Anual publicado por Ofiso en los dos últimos años, trato de identificar algunos de los motivos de esta situación, algunas claves que ayudan a entender las particularidades de nuestro país en este ámbito y los retos que se deberán afrontar en el futuro.

En Ecuador se consume el fruto de la tuna, sin embargo, las hojas o cladodios son desechados sin aprovechar sus principales componentes. El presente estudio, tiene como finalidad la elaboración de una bebida de hoja de tuna (Opuntia ficus-indica) a través de un diseño de producción industrial sostenible para la localidad de Guano, elaborando un producto de buena calidad, y que contribuye al desarrollo local del cantón. La caracterización socioeconómica se realizó a través de grupos focales y metodología social, la caracterización fisicoquímica de la materia prima y del producto final se realizó en un laboratorio particular. Los resultados muestran que la bebida de hoja de tuna tiene aceptación social, porque emplea como materia prima un componente local conocido por la población, cuyo proceso no genera impactos negativos. Su aceptación se basa en el hecho que, al ser procesada la hoja de tuna, ésta no pierde ninguno de sus componentes nutricionales, es un producto inocuo y con innumerables propiedades antioxidantes y desintoxicantes. El proyecto consta de un análisis socioeconómico y un proceso de industrialización de la bebida que consta de las siguientes etapas: recepción, inspección y selección de la materia prima, desespinado, lavado, mondado y despulpado, troceado, homogeneizado, agitado y mezclado, filtrado, pasteurizado, adición de aditivos, envasado y etiquetado. En el desarrollo experimental, se obtuvieron cuatro formulaciones para la bebida, al aplicar un análisis sensorial de jueces afectivos, se determinó que la formulación sabor a durazno es la más aceptada en el grupo social de estudio.

Los cuatro principios de habitabilidad sostenible: exterioridad, diversidad, sociabilidad y confortabilidad presentados en este trabajo surgen de la observación minuciosa de la realidad de los conjuntos habitacionales vulnerables mediante la aplicación de un método de análisis multiescalar-multitemático (MAM). El análisis deviene en lecturas y estas en oportunidades que promueven acciones que tienden a transformar favorablemente el universo diario de los habitantes de los conjuntos porque permiten vivir afuera, vivir diferente, vivir con otros y vivir cómodo, unas condiciones tan elementales –humanas– como imprescindibles. La activación de los conjuntos vulnerables es una forma de entender la sostenibilidad urbano-edilicia que potencia el patrimonio residencial construido, apoyada en la idea de la continuidad del proyecto, la preservación de las comunidades y la construcción de la ciudad como un proceso constante y acumulativo. Los microproyectos, que denominamos activadores, son acciones capaces de generar activaciones inmediatas y directas en distintas escalas del conjunto, desde la intimidad de la habitación hasta el barrio. En este sentido, el microproyecto coloca al usuario en el centro, lo hace partícipe y le proporciona condiciones de habitabilidad sostenible.

Currently several companies are increasingly aware of the importance of having a balance between the economic development of the company and the environmental issues involved with the activity performed. Pecém Complex seeks to increase the intermodal transport of cargo in the region through the provision of infrastructure and partnerships that result in socioeconomic development for the population of the state of Ceará, in compliance with current environmental legislation and pollution prevention, and also to promoting the continuous improvement of environmental quality in Pecém Port Terminal. For this, procedures based on various monitorings, plans and environmental programs are adopted, thus establishing the good environmental quality of the area of influence of the port throughout its operation phase. La investigación se efectuó durante el secano 2017, con el objetivo de evaluar la eficiencia de los sistemas de cultivo: maíz-frijol, maíz-calabaza, maíz-frijol-calabaza, maíz, frijol y calabaza manejados bajo el enfoque orgánico. Se utilizó el diseño completamente al azar, con tres repeticiones. El mayor rendimiento de grano se obtuvo con el sistema maíz monocultivo con 2688.88 kg ha-1, mientras, el menor rendimiento se tuvo con el sistema de cultivo maíz-frijol-calabaza con 1668.08 kg ha-1. Para frijol, el mayor rendimiento se obtuvo con en el monocultivo con 382.21 kg ha-1y el menor rendimiento se cuantificó para el sistema maíz-frijol con 202.12 kg ha-1. El mejor rendimiento total de fruto de calabaza fue para el sistema maíz-calabaza con 3715.27 kg ha-1. En cuanto al uso de la tierra, las mayores eficiencias (UET), se tuvieron con los policultivos, al sembrar el sistema maíz-calabaza se obtuvo un UET de 2.94; el sistema maíz-frijol-calabaza arrojó un índice de 1.92, y finalmente el sistema de maíz-frijol arrojó un indicador de 1.46. Se concluyó que, en los agroecosistemas tropicales, los policultivos son más eficientes en el uso de la tierra con relación a los monocultivos de las especies básicas cuando se manejan bajo el enfoque de la agricultura orgánica, lo cual señala que las interrelaciones ecológicas que suceden en los cultivos múltiples benefician al sistema integral, contribuyendo con la producción sostenible e inocua de maíz, frijol y calabaza.
