This paper explores good practices in socio-educational action for neglected children by examining the obstacles and advantages faced by 78 professionals from three Basque Country neighborhoods. Using a communicative-oriented qualitative method, including sixteen in-depth interviews and nine discussion groups, the study identifies good practices prioritizing the welfare of children and their families through coordinated, multifaceted approaches. Despite a clear commitment to coordinated work, challenges involving professional ethics, culture, and working conditions persist. Objective: To present a list of key points for good Temporomandibular Disorders (TMDs) clinical practice on behalf of the International Network for Orofacial Pain and Related Disorders Methodology (INfORM) group of the International Association for Dental, Oral and Craniofacial Research (IADR). Methods: An open working group discussion was held at the IADR General Session in New Orleans (March 2024), where members of the INfORM group finalized the proposal of a list of 10 key points. Results: The key points covered knowledge on the etiology, diagnosis, and treatment. They represent a summary of the current standard of care for management of TMD patients. They are in line with the current need to assist general dental practitioners advance their understanding and prevent inappropriate treatment. Conclusions: The key points can be viewed as a guiding template for other national and international associations to prepare guidelines and recommendations on management of TMDs adapted to the different cultural, social, educational, and healthcare requirements. Training courses in the use of health products is a key element in ensuring the safety of medication management. The primary objective of the Pharmaceutical Training Days (PTDs) was to develop and implement a training program for nurses. The secondary objectives were to measure the progression of knowledge and to assess caregivers' satisfaction. The PTDs were developed in three stages: identification of needs, creation/development of workshops and deployment of training courses. For the three selected themes (high-risk drugs, blood-derived medicines and medical gases), training workshops were developed in the form of educational games. Questionnaires were used to assess pre- and post-training knowledge and satisfaction. By the end of the PTDs, 200 caregivers had been trained. They significantly increased their knowledge and expressed great satisfaction. The challenge of setting up this program had been successfully met. The PTDs will continue in 2025 to train all the nurses concerned. The next challenge will be to continue the project with new themes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Despite the growing recognition of the importance of sustainability in fresh food cold supply chain (FC), research in this area remains fragmented and at an early stage. This study aims to enrich to the existing body of knowledge by advancing research on FC to foster a better understanding of good practices (GPs). A systematic analysis of 232 English language, peer-reviewed journal articles published between 1987 and 2022 is conducted. The reviewed papers are carefully categorized based on various criteria, including publication year, country status, research methods, research design, multi-criteria decision-making techniques, sustainable dimensions, and focused areas. Several research gaps are identified, which highlight future research directions in the field. Additionally, the authors tackled one of the research gaps by constructing a conceptual framework that elucidates the connection between GPs and sustainability performance, viewing it through the lens of the triple-bottom-line (TBL). Moreover, further investigation is required to test and expand the applicability of the proposed conceptual framework. This research contributes to the refinement of the ongoing debate on the conceptualization of sustainable FC (SFC) by addressing important research gaps. The findings of this study are valuable not only for policymakers, management professionals, and researchers but also for providing a comprehensive overview of SFC research in all its dimensions. Evidence on post-diagnostic support for people with young onset dementia is scarce. Previous studies have employed a problem-focused approach; however, evidence on 'what works' in real-life practice is essential to develop recommendations for service design and delivery. This study aimed to provide insight into 'what works' from the perspectives of people with young onset dementia and their supporters. We gathered free-text responses on positive service experiences via a UK cross-sectional survey. Inductive thematic analysis was used to identify the objectives of positive services and the needs these met. Follow-up interviews enabled in-depth insights from people with diverse diagnoses, ages and social situations. These were analysed using a template drawn from the survey. The 233 survey respondents gave 856 examples of positive support. Analysis of 24 follow-up interviews led to 16 themes clustered under three superordinate themes: 'maintaining autonomy', 'being myself' and 'togetherness'. We found that positive services address the disruptions to sense of agency, selfhood and meaningful relationships that are experienced by those with young onset dementia. The study provides an in-depth understanding of the needs met by positive services for younger people with dementia. Our nuanced findings on good practice can inform age-specific guidelines for young onset dementia and indicate how personalisation can work in practice to help people with young onset dementia to maintain identity, autonomy and connections. Prospective primary education (PE) teachers of mathematics are trained on university programs which include core subjects in the field of the didactics of mathematics. However, these subjects have no general practical component. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the contribution of practical courses to the development of good practice in mathematics education. For this purpose, an ethnographic study was carried out with the participation of 23 prospective teachers who completed a questionnaire with closed and open-ended questions. The closed responses were analyzed by frequency and percentage, and the open-ended responses were analyzed using the ATLAS.ti software (v. 22) (ATLAS.ti, 2022). The results show that most of the prospective teachers identified principles of good practice in mathematics classes, and most of them found a relationship between their initial training and what they experienced in these classrooms. But evidence on the level of SDM in medical practice and barriers as well as stimulus during the SDM implementation among aesthetic dermatologists is limited in China.Methods: From July to August 2023, 1938 dermatologists were recruited online in China. Data were collected through an electronic questionnaire covering: (1) demographic features; (2) SDM questionnaire physician version (SDM-Q-Doc); and (3) stimulus and barriers in SDM implementation. Logistic regression was applied to explore factors associated with SDM practice, barriers, and stimulus of SDM implementation, respectively.Results: The 1938 dermatologists included 1329 females (68.6%), with an average age of 35 years. The total SDM score ranged from 0 to 45, with a median value of 40 (IQR: 35– 44), and the median stimulus score and barriers scores were 28 (IQR: 24– 32) and 19 (IQR: 13– 26), respectively. The prevalence of good SDM was 27.2%, logistic regression indicated that female dermatologists (odds ratio, OR=1.21, 95% confidence interval, CI: 0.96– 1.51), and dermatologists with more years of aesthetic practice had a higher proportion of good SDM practice (OR was 1.44 for 5– 9 years, 1.58 for 10– 15 years and 1.77 for over 15 years). Moreover, female dermatologists and dermatologists with higher education level and serviced in private settings had lower barrier scores; female dermatologists and dermatologists with more years of aesthetic practice had higher stimulus scores.Conclusion: Chinese aesthetic dermatologists appear to implement SDM at an active level, with more stimulus and less barriers in SDM implementation. The integration of SDM into clinical practice among dermatologists is beneficial both for patients and dermatologists. Moreover, SDM practice should be strongly promoted and enhanced during medical aesthetics, especially among male dermatologists, dermatologists with less working experience, and those who work at public institutions.Keywords: shared decision making, dermatologist, good practice, barriers, stimulus

Purpose To assess the patient gonadal shielding practices of radiologic technologists in the state of California. Methods A survey invitation was sent via email to registered radiologic technologists in California to collect data to determine whether there were significant associations between gonadal shielding practices and various categorical variables, including patient sex, patient age, body part, availability of gonadal shielding protocols, availability of gonadal shields, and supervisor encouragement. Results There was a significant association between gonadal shielding protocol availability and supervisor encouragement of using gonadal shielding (P = .005) and between gonadal shielding availability and supervisor encouragement of using gonadal shielding (P < .001). Contrary to other studies in the literature, there was a significant difference between patient sex and the likelihood of gonadal shielding use, with participants indicating that they shield girls and women more often than they shield boys and men (P < .001). Discussion There was a sex-based difference in the frequency of gonadal shielding usage among the sample in this study. Also, supervisors providing accessible protocols and encouraging gonadal shielding can increase technologists' use of gonadal shielding. Conclusion Gonadal shielding is the current Code of Federal Regulations standard, although most professional and scientific organizations support discontinuing shielding during abdominal and pelvic radiography examinations. Shielding of these areas is more likely to occur with the availability of gonadal shielding, supervisory encouragement, protocols mandating shielding, and state regulations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article details the reflection process that arose as a result of our recent experiences with client handover within a national, specialist, adult neurodevelopmental psychology service, following one clinician leaving the service. The departing clinician and the team used this 'learningfrom experience' opportunity to collectively reflect on handover with neurodiverse clients, thinking about what went well with the whole process, what could have been done differently and to consider the adaptations that this population may require in order to make handovers as smooth as possible. We have summarised the learning points from these reflections into 'good practice guidance' for our own service. Literature on best handover practice is limited, especially with respect to neurodiversity, and given the increasing number of neurodiverse clients accessing local or secondary care services, we are sharing our first-hand experiences in the hope that this may be relevant, helpful and/or stimulate discussion for other services experiencing similar situations. Many recent societal trends have led to the need for fertility education, including the age at which individuals become parents, the development of new reproductive technologies, and family diversity. Fertility awareness has emerged as a concept very recently and is increasingly gaining recognition. However, fertility education is often neglected as there is no consensus on the appropriate content, target populations, or on who should provide it. This article attempts to provide an overview of the use of interventions to improve fertility education. We emphasize the importance of delivering evidence-based information on fertility and reproductive health through various methods while providing guidelines for their standardization and systematization. Recommendations are provided to aid the development and implementation of fertility education tools, including: the establishment of a comprehensive understanding of the target populations; the incorporation of theories of behavioural change; the inclusion of the users' perspectives and the use of participatory research; and the use of specific guidelines for increasing engagement. By following these recommendations, it is expected that fertility education resources can contribute to improving fertility literacy, empowering individuals and couples to make informed reproductive decisions, and ultimately reducing the incidence of infertility and need for fertility treatment. ObjectiveShared decision-making (SDM) is a collaborative process in which patients and healthcare providers jointly make a medical decision. This cross-sectional study aimed to identify the implementation status of shared decision-making among dermatologists engaging in medical esthetics in China and to identify factors associated with the good practice of SDM among them.MethodsFrom January to June 2023, a total of 1,287 dermatologists engaging in medical esthetics in China were recruited and completed the online interviews about their implementation of SDM based on the Shared Decision-Making Questionnaire for Doctors (SDM-Q-Doc). Logistic regression was used to calculate the odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) to explore factors associated with the higher SDM score achievement among dermatologists with medical esthetic practice.ResultsThe median value of the total SDM score was 39, and 48% (621/1278) of dermatologists with medical esthetic practice achieved at least 40 out of 45 scores. Logistic regression indicated that dermatologists aged 40–49 or ≥ 50 years and those engaging in medical esthetic practice for ≥5 years were more likely to achieve at least 40 out of 45 scores compared to dermatologists aged

Abstract Background People who inject drugs (PWID) in Europe are at an increased risk of HIV/AIDS, chronic viral hepatitis B (HBV) and C (HCV), and tuberculosis (TB). We aimed to complement the evidence base on interventions optimising their care cascade with evidence from models of good practice (MoGPs) implemented in the EU/EEA and countries from the Eastern European region. Methods A model of good practice (MoGP) was defined as (a package of) interventions with proven effectiveness in certain settings that are likely to be replicable and sustainable in other settings or countries. Fifteen MoGPs, identified by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) and the European Monitoring Centre on Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) following a call launched in 2020, have been analysed. For the 15 MoGPs, a qualitative content analysis was conducted of (i) intervention characteristics and (ii) enabling factors. Information was extracted and summarised for community-based testing, linkage to care and adherence to treatment. Results MoGPs emerged from projects implemented in Belarus, Norway, Portugal, the Republic of Moldova, Spain, and the UK alongside the multi-country HepCare project (Ireland, Romania, Spain, the UK) targeting either HCV (6/15) or HIV/AIDS (4/15), alone or combined with HBV, and/or TB (5/15). All MoGPs used packages of interventions, with decentralisation of services (15/15), cooperation among service providers (14/15), integrated services (10/15), peer interventions (12/15), and case management (4/15) reported across all stages of the care cascade. The synthesis of enablers shows that when replicating interventions in other settings, consideration should be given to national (legal) frameworks, characteristics of and proximity between healthcare and service providers, and establishing relations of trust with PWID. Conclusion To improve the cascade of care for PWID in European settings, care structures and pathways should be simplified, based on cooperation and multidisciplinary. MoGPs can provide implementation-based evidence on interventions alongside evidence from peer-reviewed literature to optimise the care cascade among PWID.

No matter how many efforts are made to promote D & I in STEM fields, if many members do not understand the necessity of D & I and the true reasons for it and feel that it is imposed from above, it will be a temporary phenomenon and will not last long. The most common reasons for the necessity of D & I are "source of new value creation （innovation）" and "economic effect". As a legal scholar, I would like to emphasize the viewpoint of "human rights protection" in addition to these reasons. In other words, the important significance of D & I promotion is to eliminate discrimination against minorities, to ensure diversity, and to protect human rights of all people. Sharing good practices is certainly important, but merely imitating them is a symptomatic treatment, so to speak, and thus does not lead to the root cure of the disease. In order to provide fundamental treatment, it is necessary to face up to the current impediments to D & I, such as gender inequality in Japan, and to perform a major operation as soon as possible. Effective measures such as training, nudges, and positive actions should be boldly taken to remove unconscious discrimination and prejudice （UB） by the majority unaware of their privilege, which is the root cause of Japan's disgraceful inequality with a GGGI of 125th place. This article synthetically discusses the judgment of the Court of Justice of the European Union of 2 March 2023 in case C-432/21.2 It aims to familiarise international readers with this issue, which might be a contribution to an academic, international discussion in this field, significant in the era of climate change. The author first indicates the role of forests in climate policy and considers the socio-economic conditions of the current situation of forests in Poland. Then, the international reader will be introduced to the most critical issues related to the judgment that concern the Polish legal order, i.e., forest management and the code of good practices in forests. In the next part, she moves on to the essential elements of the legal basis for the complaint filed by the European Commission against Poland and shows grounds of action and the operative part of the judgment. Then, the most important points of the parties' arguments were briefly presented. In addition, reference will be made to the legal consequences of issuing the judgment in question. STUDY QUESTION Which add-ons are safe and effective to be used in ART treatment? SUMMARY ANSWER Forty-two recommendations were formulated on the use of add-ons in the diagnosis of fertility problems, the IVF laboratory and clinical management of IVF treatment. WHAT IS KNOWN ALREADY The innovative nature of ART combined with the extremely high motivation of the patients has opened the door to the wide application of what has become known as 'add-ons' in reproductive medicine. These supplementary options are available to patients in addition to standard fertility procedures, typically incurring an additional cost. A diverse array of supplementary options is made available, encompassing tests, drugs, equipment, complementary or alternative therapies, laboratory procedures, and surgical interventions. These options share the common aim of stating to enhance pregnancy or live birth rates, mitigate the risk of miscarriage, or expedite the time to achieving pregnancy. STUDY DESIGN, SIZE, DURATION ESHRE aimed to develop clinically relevant and evidence-based recommendations focusing on the safety and efficacy of add-ons currently used in fertility procedures in order to improve the quality of care for patients with infertility. PARTICIPANTS/MATERIALS, SETTING, METHODS ESHRE appointed a European multidisciplinary working group consisting of practising clinicians, embryologists, and researchers who have demonstrated leadership and expertise in the care and research of infertility. Patient representatives were included in the working group. To ensure that the guidelines are evidence-based, the literature identified from a systematic search was reviewed and critically appraised. In the absence of any clear scientific evidence, recommendations were based on the professional experience and consensus of the working group. The guidelines are thus based on the best available evidence and expert agreement. Prior to publication, the guidelines were reviewed by 46 independent international reviewers. A total of 272 comments were received and incorporated where relevant. MAIN RESULTS AND THE ROLE OF CHANCE The multidisciplinary working group formulated 42 recommendations in three sections; diagnosis and diagnostic tests, laboratory tests and interventions, and clinical management. LIMITATIONS, REASONS FOR CAUTION Of the 42 recommendations, none could be based on high-quality evidence and only four could be based on moderate-quality evidence, implicating that 95% of the recommendations are supported only by low-quality randomized controlled trials, observational data, professional experience, or consensus of the development group. WIDER IMPLICATIONS OF THE FINDINGS These guidelines offer valuable direction for healthcare professionals who are responsible for the care of patients undergoing ART treatment for infertility. Their purpose is to promote safe and effective ART treatment, enabling patients to make informed decisions based on realistic expectations. The guidelines aim to ensure that patients are fully informed about the various treatment options available to them and the likelihood of any additional treatment or test to improve the chance of achieving a live birth. This reflection paper presents a consolidated view of EFPIA on the need for principles for good practice in the generation and use of non-interventional studies (NIS), including overarching principles such as the registration of hypothesis evaluating treatment effect (HETE) studies. We first define NIS and the important adjacencies to clinical trials and relationship with real-world evidence (RWE). We then outline the principles for good practice with respect to appropriate research design, study protocol, fit-for-purpose variables and data quality, analytical methods, bias reduction, transparency in conduct and use, privacy management and ethics review. Abstract: Aims: The aim of the study is to find out to what extent existing strategies of "good practice for reaching and caring for refugees in addiction services" are applied. As in other health care facilities, barriers to access and care for refugees also complicate access to addiction services. Often, this target group is not reached. Methods: In order to map the status of the implementation of these strategies in addiction support, a survey was conducted among member organisations of the German Centre for Addiction Issues (DHS). This took place by means of a questionnaire. Each strategy was surveyed with the question: "do you implement this strategy", which could be answered on a four-point Likert scale. In addition, demographic data of the institutions was requested. Participation was online or via mail. For the evaluation, the answers were dichotomised into "implemented" and "not implemented". Results: Strategies were mainly applied that do not generate additional costs. These are either based on the basic principles of addiction support, such as discretion and anonymity, or are provided by central bodies, such as centrally designed information material. In addition, there was a lack of implementation of strategies with regard to multilingualism, outreach approaches and the promotion of staff with a migration background/refugee history. Foster care placements aim to provide stability and a nurturing environment for children in need of care and protection. However, managing the behaviour of foster children poses unique challenges due to their history of exposure to adverse childhood experiences, which often leads to behavioural problems. A single-case study mixed-methods design was used to explore the perspectives of foster children on the disciplinary practices used within three foster care houses in Gauteng, South Africa. Findings from the study highlight that the use of a predominant punishment-focused approach hinders opportunities for positive reinforcement and the development of prosocial behaviours, efficacy, and self-discipline. The short-term effects of this punishment-driven strategy raise concerns about its long-term effectiveness in behaviour modification. Moreover, predominantly relying on punishment as a behaviour management intervention overlooks the emotional and developmental needs of foster children and fails to address the underlying causes of antisocial behaviour. To address these issues, there is a clear need for a more balanced and comprehensive approach to behaviour management in foster care settings. The proposed guidelines include adopting a cohesive approach to behaviour management, establishing clear boundaries, rules, and consequences, using positive discipline techniques, understanding different parenting styles and their impact on behaviour management, creating an enabling environment to support behaviour modification, and providing effective training for foster caregivers. A series of recent and proposed workshops address the interface between key characteristics and mechanistic pathway descriptions (adverse outcome pathways and mode of action) to identify commonalities and potential for complementary application. STUDY QUESTION How should recurrent implantation failure (RIF) in patients undergoing ART be defined and managed? SUMMARY ANSWER This is the first ESHRE good practice recommendations paper providing a definition for RIF together with recommendations on how to investigate causes and contributing factors, and how to improve the chances of a pregnancy. WHAT IS KNOWN ALREADY RIF is a challenge in the ART clinic, with a multitude of investigations and interventions offered and applied in clinical practice, often without biological rationale or with unequivocal evidence of benefit. STUDY DESIGN, SIZE, DURATION This document was developed according to a predefined methodology for ESHRE good practice recommendations. Recommendations are supported by data from the literature, if available, and the results of a previously published survey on clinical practice in RIF and the expertise of the working group. A literature search was performed in PubMed and Cochrane focussing on 'recurrent reproductive failure', 'recurrent implantation failure', and 'repeated implantation failure'. PARTICIPANTS/MATERIALS, SETTING, METHODS The ESHRE Working Group on Recurrent Implantation Failure included eight members representing the ESHRE Special Interest Groups for Implantation and Early Pregnancy, Reproductive Endocrinology, and Embryology, with an independent chair and an expert in statistics. The recommendations for clinical practice were formulated based on the expert opinion of the working group, while taking into consideration the published data and results of the survey on uptake in clinical practice. The draft document was then open to ESHRE members for online peer review and was revised in light of the comments received. MAIN RESULTS AND THE ROLE OF CHANCE The working group recommends considering RIF as a secondary phenomenon of ART, as it can only be observed in patients undergoing IVF, and that the following description of RIF be adopted: 'RIF describes the scenario in which the transfer of embryos considered to be viable has failed to result in a positive pregnancy test sufficiently often in a specific patient to warrant consideration of further investigations and/or interventions'. It was agreed that the recommended threshold for the cumulative predicted chance of implantation to identify RIF for the purposes of initiating further investigation is 60%. When a couple have not had a successful implantation by a certain number of embryo transfers and the cumulative predicted chance of implantation associated with that number is greater than 60%, then they should be counselled on further investigation and/or treatment options. This term defines clinical RIF for which further actions should be considered. Nineteen recommendations were formulated on investigations when RIF is suspected, and 13 on interventions. Recommendations were colour-coded based on whether the investigations/interventions were recommended (green), to be considered (orange), or not recommended, i.e. not to be offered routinely (red). LIMITATIONS, REASONS FOR CAUTION While awaiting the results of further studies and trials, the ESHRE Working Group on Recurrent Implantation Failure recommends identifying RIF based on the chance of successful implantation for the individual patient or couple and to restrict investigations and treatments to those supported by a clear rationale and data indicating their likely benefit. WIDER IMPLICATIONS OF THE FINDINGS This article provides not only good practice advice but also highlights the investigations and interventions that need further research. This research, when well-conducted, will be key to making progress in the clinical management of RIF. A benchmarking survey was conducted to determine the level of e-learning quality assurance in these countries compared to good practices in the European Union. The Benchmarking Badge published monthly on the www.bequal.info portal tracks changes over time. Findings: The average standard for the four involved countries after the pandemic was the level for VET (Vocational Education and Training) providers: (1) strategy and policy for e-learning 71.6%, (2) support for trainers and trainees for e-learning 70.4, (3) infrastructure support for e-learning 74.9%, (4) program/course design and development and approval for e-learning provision 75.8%, and (5) e-learning training program evaluation procedures 67.9%. The current study is a pilot survey of future research that seeks to record the views of Primary Education (PE) teachers with respect to the promotion of bioethics literacy in PE through the incorporation of bioethics in the syllabus of primary schools. In this study, which took place in Athens from March 10, 2020, until May 10, 2020, all the appropriate research tool refinements have been considered before its finalization. The snowball sampling method has been used for primary school teachers of various disciplines. Furthermore, the requirements of the mixed research (qualitative and quantitative – triangulation) are met. Research data have been collected through an open-ended type questionnaire comprising 10 questions pertaining to the incorporation of bioethics in the PE syllabus and the data process has been performed with the use of the Content Analysis Method. The majority of the participants showed a positive attitude towards the introduction of bioethics courses in PE and expressed their thoughts and concerns about the implementation of this endeavor. The most important finding is the perception on the importance of bioethics literacy in PE.

Food processing companies have a financial interest in saving resources. However, they have different perceptions of the relevance of the issue of food waste. Hence, companies deal with the topic of waste in different ways. Some companies do implement measures systematically, others do not. The aim of this study is to analyze which recommendations against food loss and waste are effective, easy to implement, and are already part of the status quo in the food processing industry. For this purpose, based on the results of a previous exploratory study, a standardized questionnaire was developed and sent to food processing companies. From the 82 participating companies, 19 of 53 recommendations were classified as basic recommendations and 22 of the 53 recommendations were classified as 'low-hanging fruits'. The results showed that companies rated the recommendations that were best implemented as very effective and easy to implement. Moreover, the results showed that the food processing industry's strength in preventing food waste relate to the internal processes. However, at the borders of the value chain, there are still deficits in terms of exchange and communication with other stakeholders. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

• Computer coding is one of the biggest challenges for novice ecological modelers. • We identified common coding challenges for occurring at different stages of good modeling practice. • Good coding practices can be seamlessly incorporated into good modeling practices. Good modeling practices are essential for producing reliable and reproducible ecological models. Inherent to good modeling practices are fundamental coding and documentation skills, which not only implement the desired modeling capabilities but also clearly outline the goals, methods, and components of a model that are necessary to reproduce the desired results. One of the largest challenges for new ecological modelers can be implementing a model into computer code. In fact, coding represents a significant barrier for entry into ecological modeling, since most ecologists have not had formal training in computer science or software development. While software packages do exist that facilitate model development, we have observed that newer modelers still struggle with developing good coding practice throughout the modeling process. During a series of agent-based modeling short-courses and full semester graduate courses, both taught in NetLogo, we identified some common challenges encountered by graduate students and environmental professionals as they learn to code an ecological model, many for the first time. We were able to categorize and provide examples of the main challenges and obstacles, which fell into three main groups that follow the steps of good modeling practice: problem scoping and conceptualization, formulation, and evaluation. We then provide guidance on how to overcome these obstacles while developing good coding and modeling practices that will result in more scientifically defensible models. Abstract Background Food-borne diseases are a major public health concern worldwide, particularly in low and middle-income countries (LMICs), such as Ethiopia. Poor food hygiene practices primarily exacerbate food-borne illness transmission. Prior studies on the food hygiene practices among food handlers in Ethiopia were inconsistent. Therefore, this meta-analysis and systematic review aimed to estimate the pooled proportion of good food hygiene practices and identify the determinants in Ethiopia. Methods The preferred reporting items for systematic review and meta-analysis (PRISMA) instruments were used, and a systematic search was performed in the PubMed/MEDLINE, POPLINE, HINARI, Science Direct, Cochrane Library databases, and Google Scholar were systematically last searched on the 24th February 2022 for relevant articles. Only the observational studies that reported the proportion of good food hygiene practices and their associated factors among food handlers were included. The quality of the included studies was assessed by two independent authors. Articles with unclear methodologies and did not report the overall proportions of good food hygiene practice were excluded. The effect estimates for pooled proportion and pooled odds ratio (POR) along with a 95% confidence interval (CI) were determined conducting using DerSimonian–Laird's random effect model. Results Among 817 retrieved studies, 23 eligible articles with a total sample size of 7153 study participants were included in the meta-analysis. The pooled proportion of good food hygiene practices among food handlers was 50.5% [95% CI: (41.6, 59.4%]; I 2 = 98.7%, p value = 0.001]. Food handlers with formal education (POR = 4.60, 95% CI: 3.05, 6.93), good knowledge (POR = 1.98, 95% CI: 1.26, 3.11), training (POR = 3.52, 95% CI: 2.35, 5.28), and a positive attitude (POR = 3.41, 95% CI: 2.52, 4.61) about food hygiene components, as well as regular medical checkups (POR = 6.75, 95% CI: 4.49) were significantly associated with good food hygiene practice. Conclusions Only half of Ethiopia's food handlers had good food hygiene practice. Implication of the study The key elements of effective food hygiene practice that will aid in the development of feasible interventions to increase food handler compliance with food hygiene components have been identified.

In 2021, Lithuania faced the challenge of managing the crisis of new type of migration across the Belarusian border, which threatened the security of the country and its citizens. A broad set of inter-institutional collaboration strategies and methods were used among the public institutions to address this crisis. Such inter-institutional collaboration has been a multifaceted and complex process, involving both known and new good practices. The aim of this article is to provide insights into good collaborative practices between the Lithuanian national defence and internal affairs systems in managing the migrant crisis. Following the expert interview results, the study identified three good practices of inter-institutional collaboration: (i) the creation of a single dissemination channel for the crisis response services, which ensured that all actors were in the same information field; (ii) the delegation of representatives of the institutions to teams at strategic, operational and tactical levels; and (iii) inter-institutional information sharing ensured good situational awareness at an early stage of emergency management. Lessons learned from the collaboration between the institutions of the national defence and internal affairs systems can be applied to improve inter-institutional collaboration in other areas. The research results can be used to enhance the process of such collaboration in addressing current emergency management issues and serve as a basis for effective and smooth emergency preparedness and response where interinstitutional synergy is needed. There is growing interest in data science and the challenges that scientists can solve through its application. The growing interest is in part due to the promise of "extracting value from data." The pharmaceutical industry is no different in this regard reflected by the advancement and excitement surrounding data science. Data science brings new perspectives, new methods, new skill sets and the wider use of new data modalities. For example, there is a belief that extracting value from data integrated from multiple sources and modalities using advances in statistics, machine learning, informatics and computation can answer fundamental questions. These questions span a variety of themes including disease understanding, drug and target discovery, and trial design. By answering fundamental questions, we cannot only increase knowledge and understanding but more importantly inform decision making; accelerating drug development through data-driven prioritization, increasingly precise and accurate measurements, optimized trial designs and operational excellence. However, with the promise of data science, there are obstacles to overcome, especially if data science is to live up to this promise and deliver a positive impact. These obstacles include consensus on the definition of data science, the relationship between data science and existing fields such as statistics and computing science, what should be involved in the day-to-day practices of data science, and what is "good" practice. In this article, we cover these themes, highlighting issues with scientific practice from five perspectives and argue how advances in data science will not be immune, especially exploratory, investigative, and innovative activities. We propose a definition of data science as a coming together but also a refocusing of established disciplines leading to a framework for good practice. In doing so, we aim to begin a dialogue on good data science practice in the context of drug development, where there is no industry view or consensus. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Sport coaching policies in Europe lack a guiding framework, and there is limited knowledge about good practices within those policies. This lack of guidance stands in stark contrast to the growing role and importance, from both a practical and a policy perspective, that coaches play in Europe. It is against this background that the Policy, Evidence, and Knowledge in Coaching (PEAK) project was initiated to strengthen the policy foundations of sports coaching in Europe. To do so, the Policy, Evidence, and Knowledge in Coaching project aimed to develop coaching policy recommendations for national authorities and sport federations on the European continent. In the following, we present the main policy recommendations for national authorities as well as the extensive process that led to the formulation of those recommendations. Based on this work, nine recommendations featuring a total of 61 indicators were developed. Overall, we contend that the policy foundation for an effective coaching system includes clarity on who the policies are for, how the results of the policy will be measured, the education, regulation, and support of the workforce, and addressing the inclusion of underrepresented groups. Challenges related to increasing large carnivore populations in Europe led to the establishment of the EU Platform on Coexistence between People and Large Carnivores. We present the work undertaken by the Secretariat of the Platform in analyzing case studies in large carnivore conservation and management, which reflected good practice. We focused on 10 case studies ranging from concrete damage prevention methods to broader stakeholder involvement. For these cases, we interviewed stakeholder members with direct involvement. The short listing of case studies was based on the good practice they demonstrated in terms of both conservation and positive outcomes for stakeholder interaction. Our analysis showed that we have much to learn from the unplanned side effects of the actions undertaken, which stakeholders negotiated as part of the process of working together (further referred to as "trade-offs"). We examined how stakeholders dealt with these trade-offs and how they might lead to adaptations in their future interactions. Stakeholders' responses focused in particular on the following areas: institutional backing of damage prevention and/or compensation; intergroup and in-group relations between stakeholders; instances where costs outweighed benefits; and threats posed by large carnivores. Our findings suggest a need to reconsider what we mean by good practice. In particular, "win-win" solutions may not be realistic, nor even desirable as a management goal. An overconcentration on win-win options may lead to a downplaying of the costs for particular stakeholder groups, which in the end is likely to be counterproductive. Our results indicate that good practice should not be understood as meaning an absence of obstacles but that such obstacles are effectively overcome by stakeholders to achieve desirable outcomes in a specific setting. One of the most critical moments for young people with intellectual disabilities is their transition to adulthood and employment. It is necessary to make visible the talent of young people with intellectual disabilities to increase the level of employment in this group. Supported employment is a model of inclusion in competitive employment for people with special difficulties. In our work: (1) we analyse the educational system in Wales and the Canary Islands, from the perspective of students with special educational needs; (2) we address the process of transition to employment in both regions, highlighting the main milestones and obstacles to overcome; and (3) we analyse the current situation regarding Supported Employment programmes in Wales and the Canary Islands, highlighting their good practices, such as the Engage to Change Project and the Sinpromi Programme (both programmes promote Supported Employment and are presented as examples of good practice). Although Wales has a more developed vision than the Canary Islands, regarding the transition of young people with intellectual disabilities to employment, there are certain barriers that equally hinder the transition to employment in the two regions. Modern trends in the tourism market, especially at a time when the world is affected by an epidemic of global proportions, has conditioned the return to nature, healthy lifestyles, domestic products and the need for psychophysical rest. More and more tourists are opting for shorter trips and stays in rural areas, away from the crowds that are present in popular tourist destinations. The Russian Federation is an area with significant resources for the development of rural tourism. Today, a number of Russian regions, relying on the unique nature, rich cultural and material heritage, traditions of the rural population are successfully implementing projects in the field of rural tourism. Such regions include the Kaluga, Vologda and Yaroslavl regions, the Altai Republic, Buryatia and Khakassia, and many others. According to the latest research, the potential of rural tourism in Russia in the next 10-15 years can be estimated at 50 billion rubles. The aim of this paper is to point out the possibilities of improving and developing rural tourism in the region based on this example of good practice.

This scoping review aims to synthesize existing literature on good practice in sexual health interventions for adults over 45 years and in vulnerable groups. Using PRISMA-ScR guidelines, search terms focused on sexual health, good practice, and vulnerable groups, in over-45s. Of the nine studies that met the inclusion criteria, seven were focused on HIV and risk reduction. Use of alternative methods of communication, alongside inclusion of behavioral and cognitive measures such as condom use and perceived stigma, was key to tailoring interventions. BACKGROUND Ultrasound-guided embryo transfer (US-GET) is a widely performed procedure, but standards for the best practice are not available. OBJECTIVE AND RATIONALE This document aims to provide an overview of technical aspects of US-GET after considering the published data and including the preparation for the embryo transfer (ET) procedure, the actual procedure, the post-procedure care, associated pathologies, complications and risks, quality assurance and practitioners' performance. SEARCH METHODS A literature search for evidence on key aspects of the ET procedure was carried out from database inception to November 2021. Selected papers (n = 359) relevant to the topic were analysed by the authors. The following key points were considered in the papers: whether ultrasound (US) practice standards were explained, to what extent the ET technique was described and whether complications or incidents and how to prevent such events were reported. In the end, 89 papers could be used to support the recommendations in this document, which focused on transabdominal US-GET. OUTCOMES The relevant papers found in the literature search were included in the current document and described according to the topic in three main sections: requirements and preparations prior to ET, the ET procedure and training and competence for ET. Recommendations are provided on preparations prior to ET, equipment and materials, ET technique, possible risks and complications, training and competence. Specific aspects of the laboratory procedures are covered, in particular the different loading techniques and their potential impact on the final outcomes. Potential future developments and research priorities regarding the ET technique are also outlined. LIMITATIONS, REASONS FOR CAUTION Many topics were not covered in the literature review and some recommendations were based on expert opinions and are not necessarily evidence based. WIDER IMPLICATIONS ET is the last procedural step in an ART treatment and is a crucial step towards achieving a pregnancy and live birth. The current paper set out to bring together the recent developments considering all aspects of ET, especially emphasizing US quality imaging. Background: Many factors determine the success of wearing contact lens, including knowledge and compliance towards lens care. This study aimed to evaluate the level of knowledge and compliance between two groups of adult contact lens wearers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Methods: A total of 60 participants aged 18-30 years old volunteered to participate in this study (30 participants prescribed contact lenses at the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia [UKM] optometry clinic and 30 participants fitted at private practices). Participants were interviewed using a structured questionnaire consisting of nine questions on basic knowledge related to lens wear and 13 questions on compliance, categorised into questions on the cleaning process, disinfection, accessories care and replacement schedule. Results: All participants wore disposable contact lens 53.3% (n = 32) participants preferred using monthly disposable lenses. Both groups had the same level of knowledge, except knowledge of the effects of makeup (P < 0.000) and duration of the solution used for cleaning (P < 0.010), showing lack of knowledge on contact lenses among participants in private practices group. There were no significant differences between the groups in terms of the level of compliance with the cleaning process (P = 0.830), disinfection (P = 0.725), accessories care (P = 0.865) and replacement schedule (P = 0.699). Conclusion: Participants from UKM optometry clinic had better knowledge on wearing contact lens; moreover, both groups had good compliance towards lens care. Contact lens practitioners should provide all the necessary information to contact lens wearers so that they are equipped to handle contact lenses correctly, which would minimise the risk of eye complications. Simple Summary: It is vitally important that fish and other aquatic animals are not at risk of pain, suffering, or distress when they are used in procedures. In addition, many procedures involve taking them out of water, which can be very stressful for them as many species cannot breathe out of water. Proper use of anesthesia can reduce the potential suffering for the fish. However, anesthesia must be performed skillfully to achieve the desired effect and to avoid adverse effects. This paper will focus on important factors to support vital functions in anesthetized animals and will include factors to consider before, during, and after anesthesia. I suggest that these are good anesthetic practices for aquatic animals. Fish and other aquatic animals represent a significant number of species with diverse physiology, size, and housing condition needs. Anesthesia may be necessary for several husbandry procedures as well as treatment of diseases, surgery, or experimental procedures. Choice of drugs and detailed procedures for anesthesia must be adapted to the species in question—there is no "one size fits all" solution. However, there are some basic principles that apply for good anesthetic practice of all animals. These principles include the preparations of animals, personnel, facilities and equipment, monitoring animals under anesthesia, as well as post-anesthetic care to be sure that animals are not lost in the recovery phase. This paper is an exploratory study into whether schedules of condition and final inspections are required under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 ('the Act'). It is common practice among party wall surveyors to gain access to adjoining owners' properties to prepare a schedule of condition before the notified works commence and inspect upon the completion of the awarded works. There would, however, appear to be a tension between the statute itself and common practice, because the terms 'schedule of condition' and 'final inspection' are not included in the Act. It is the absence of these terms which has dictated the exploratory nature of this paper, drawing on various sources, including parliamentary debates at the time the Act was in the form of a Private Member's Bill, the writing of an eminent surveyor who was chairman of the working party advising the legislators, and practising surveyors and lawyers. Consideration is given to the extent to which assumptions expressed in Parliament may have failed to find their way into the Act. My exploration is consideration of any distinction between statutory duty, professional duty, good practice and proportionality; a corollary to the duties and conduct of appointed surveyors is the problem of delegation in their quasi-judicial role. This article provides prospects on how English First Additional Language (FAL) teachers working in overcrowded intermediate phase classrooms can assess meaningfully. It is in response to numerous reports that highlight the poor performance in English First Additional Language by South African intermediate learners. Seeing that overcrowdedness has been singled out as one of the possible causes of this reality, this paper integrates overcrowdedness as an important variable. This work, informed by the complexity theory, was steeped in phenomenology as a research design, resulting in the use of the interpretive paradigm. Qualitative research methods were used where interviews and observations provided insight into good practice. Data were analysed mostly thematically, ultimately revealing the significance of assessment tools, the length and weight of assessments, selective approaches to assessments, informal assessments, observations and group assessment. These results illuminated the nonlinearity of the language classroom since other teachers can assess productively despite the number of learners in their classrooms. A notable issue about the insights is that it is rewarding to combine ingenuity and simplicity.

Abstract Background Aviation has used a real-time observation method to advance anonymised feedback to the front-line and improve safe practice. Using an experiential learning method, this pilot study aimed to develop an observation-based real-time learning tool for final-year medical students with potential wider use in clinical practice. Methods Using participatory action research, we collected data on medical students’ observations of real-time clinical practice. The observation data was analysed thematically and shared with a steering group of experts to agree a framework for recording observations. A sample of students (observers) and front-line clinical staff (observed) completed one-to-one interviews on their experiences. The interviews were analysed using thematic analysis. Results Thirty-seven medical students identified 917 issues in wards, theatres and clinics in an acute hospital trust. These issues were grouped into the themes of human influences, work environment and systems. Aviation approaches were adapted to develop an app capable of recording real-time positive and negative clinical incidents. Five students and eleven clinical staff were interviewed and shared their views on the value of a process that helped them learn and has the potential to advance the quality of practice. Concerns were shared about how the observational process is managed. Conclusion The study developed an app (Healthcare Team Observations for Patient Safety—HTOPS), for recording good and poor clinical individual and team behaviour in acute-care practice. The process advanced medical student learning about patient safety. The tool can identify the totality of patient safety practice and illuminate strength and weakness. HTOPS offers the opportunity for collective ownership of safety concerns without blame and has been positively received by all stakeholders. The next steps will further refine the app for use in all clinical areas for capturing light noise.

Ethics in university management and organisation is a center of focus since the new strategic focus of the Foundation in 2016, paying tribute to the leadership of Globethics.net Executive Director Obiora F. Ike. Prof. Dr Ike pioneered the work and laid firm foundations for its continuation and global implementation. In addition to the Globethics.net resources of library, publications and online education through its academy, Globethics.net launched processes and tools to inspire and equip higher education institutions to reach true ethics excellence in their organisation as institutions.
