Here, we report the sub-10 nm implantation of size-selected AuN nanoclusters (N = 20–147) into multilayer graphene with different deposition energy (50–15 000 eV) using a magnetron sputtering cluster beam source. Combined with aberration-corrected scanning transmission electron microscopy, we directly characterize the implantation depth of gold clusters and demonstrate the scaling relations between size, deposition energy, and implantation depth of gold clusters. The time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry analysis can also confirm the possibility of ultra-shallow implantation. The results are further corroborated by molecular dynamics simulations of Au55, which show that at a deposition energy of 15 keV, Au55 penetrates about 4.45 nm in multilayer graphene, consistent with our experimental result of 4.38 nm, i.e., about 13 atomic layers. Our results reveal the possibility of cluster implantation to atomic precision, thus guiding the fabrication of sub-10 nm electronic devices. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: This study evaluated the effect of resilience on depression among patients with breast cancer from individual and familial perspectives by exploring the mediating and moderating effects of family resilience between individual resilience and depression. Methods: A questionnaire survey was conducted among 337 patients with breast cancer who were admitted to the Oncology Department of Jiangsu Province Hospital. The survey included demographic information, the Connor–Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC), the Family Resilience Assessment Scale (FRAS), and the Chinese version of the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) for Depression. The relationship among individual resilience, family resilience, and depression was analyzed using hierarchical regression and bootstrap test to assess the mediating and moderating effects of family resilience. Results: The depression scores were (13.50 ± 5.16), the individual resilience scores were (48.62 ± 17.50), and the family resilience scores were (105.98 ± 24.35). Significant differences in depression scores were observed in terms of family monthly income, average weekly exercise before diagnosis, post-diagnosis interpersonal relationship quality, and overall sleep quality in the past month (p < 0.05). Patients with lower individual resilience had significantly higher depression scores than those with higher resilience (F = 24.314, p < 0.001), and similarly, patients with lower family resilience had higher depression scores than those with higher family resilience (F = 41.660, p < 0.001). Individual resilience and family resilience were significantly negatively correlated with depression (r = −0.447 and −0.441, respectively, p < 0.001). Hierarchical regression analysis and bootstrap test showed that family resilience (β = −0.310, p < 0.001) had a partial mediating effect between individual resilience (β = −0.321, p < 0.001) and depression. The indirect effect size was −0.038, the 95% CI was (−0.056, −0.020), and the direct effect ratio was 71.43%. The interaction of family resilience and individual resilience had a moderating effect on depression (B = 0.166, p < 0.001). Family resilience negatively moderated the relationship between individual resilience and depressive symptoms and enhanced the protective effect of individual resilience against depression with increasing family resilience. Contrast-associated acute kidney injury (CA-AKI) is a familiar complication following percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). The present study evaluated the predictive value of the De Ritis ratio for CA-AKI and its association with long-term clinical outcomes in patients undergoing emergency PCI. Overall, 546 patients were included in this study. The De Ritis ratio was calculated by aspartate aminotransferase/alanine aminotransferase activity. The De Ritis ratios in the CA-AKI patients were significantly higher than the non-CA-AKI patients [3.74 (2.32, 4.90) vs 1.61 (1.02, 2.53); P <.001]. The De Ritis ratio was an independent risk factor for CA-AKI [odds ratio, 2.243; 95% confidence interval (CI), 1.823–2.759; P <.001]. The area under the ROC curve was.813 (95% CI,.763–.862; P <.001), and the sensitivity and specificity were 67.0% and 82.4%, respectively, when the optimum cut-off value was 2.97. Furthermore, patients in the high De Ritis ratio group (≥1.76) had a significantly greater incidence of primary endpoints [26.7% (73/273) vs 13.2% (36/273); P <.001], and the high De Ritis ratio was an independent predictor for primary endpoints (hazard ratio, 1.888, 95% CI, 1.235–2.887; P =.003). Single-atom magnetism switching is a key technique towards the ultimate data storage density of computer hard disks and has been conceptually realized by leveraging the spin bistability of a magnetic atom under a scanning tunnelling microscope. However, it has rarely been applied to solid-state transistors, an advancement that would be highly desirable for enabling various applications. Here, we demonstrate realization of the electrically controlled Zeeman effect in Dy@C84 single-molecule transistors, thus revealing a transition in the magnetic moment from 3.8 μ B to 5.1 μ B for the ground-state GN at an electric field strength of 3 − 10 MV/cm. The consequent magnetoresistance significantly increases from 600% to 1100% at the resonant tunneling point. Density functional theory calculations further corroborate our realization of nonvolatile switching of single-atom magnetism, and the switching stability emanates from an energy barrier of 92 meV for atomic relaxation. These results highlight the potential of using endohedral metallofullerenes for high-temperature, high-stability, high-speed, and compact single-atom magnetic data storage. Manipulating single-atom magnetism via an electric field promotes the downsizing of memories and transistors towards the atomic limit. It is never an easy task to govern contemporary food systems and prevent contaminated foods from reaching further down the chains. This study aims to investigate how UK managers in food supply chains have perceived food fraud risk in their supply chain and to identify what their actions could be in response to the threat of food fraud. The study adopts the psychometric paradigm approach to measure risk perception and uses the data collected from 113 UK food practitioners to identify the determinants of their responsive actions. The results highlight that most managers have perceived high uncertainty in the food supply chain and considered the disruption of information flow as a major concern in dealing with food fraud. Therefore, this study suggests that putting effort into practices to improve supply chain visibility and facilitate the flow of information are weighted as important in the food fraud mitigation journey. Policy makers should also make better use of the current quality assurance schemes for proactive food quality control and fraud prevention; government agencies should improve the risk communication systems for trustworthy information dissemination.
