Photocatalytic hydrogen evolution (PHE) from water splitting is a promising technology for clean and renewable energy production. Elemental crystalline red phosphorus (CRP) is purposefully designed and developed for PHE reaction. However, the photocatalytic activity of CRP is limited by its intrinsic P vacancy (VP) defects, which lead to detrimental charge trapping at deep states and hence its severe recombination. To address this issue, a boron (B) incorporated CRP (B‐CRP) photocatalyst is tailored, synthesized via a simple and mild boric acid‐assisted hydrothermal strategy. The incorporation of B effectively fills the VP defects, reducing deep trap states (DTS) and introducing beneficial shallow trap states (STS) within the band structure of CRP. This defect engineering approach leads to enhanced photocatalytic activity, with B‐CRP achieving a PHE rate of 1392 µmol g−1 h−1, significantly outperforming most reported elemental photocatalysts in the literature. Density functional theory (DFT) simulations and ultrafast spectroscopy support the constructive role of B‐dopant‐induced STS in prolonging active charge carrier lifetimes, promoting more efficient photocatalytic reactions. The findings not only demonstrate the effectiveness of B‐CRP as a photocatalyst but also highlight the usefulness of dopant‐induced STS in advancing PHE technologies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

It has great potential to develop a carry‐on kit for quantitatively enrich nucleotide biomolecules in biological urine. In this study, the electrospun nanofibrous membranes were fabricated on and tailored along the circular coverslips for 6‐well orifice plates with specific surface area. After hydrophilic modification by plasma, the orifice membranes were grafted with phenylboronic acids as functional groups by EDC‐NHS reaction. Various morphological characterization showed effective introduction of quantitative phenylboronic acid groups onto the surface of the membranes. The sampling and chromatographic conditions were optimized for quantitative enrichment of nucleotides in urine by the affinity membranes in the orifice plate well. The carry‐on kit containing the affinity membranes exhibit considerable sensitivity (LOD 5.0 ng mL−1) and quantification (recoveries: 78.5 %–93.1 %) for spiked nucleotides in urine. It is low‐cost, convenient, and has great potential for developing standard operation procedure of quantitative enrichment of nucleotides in complex uric matrix with controllable adsorption capacities. In recent years, fluorescence enhancement of molecules in the aggregated state of intramolecular rotamers, i.e., aggregation-induced emission (AIE), has attracted much attention. Notably, some AIE ligands can produce metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) with structural diversity and enhanced emission due to a rotational restriction mechanism. Based on this advantage, some AIE ligands have been used to construct MOFs that show interesting luminescence phenomena and good application prospects. In this paper, we review the research progress in this field in recent years and summarize their luminescence mechanism, structural design, property tuning, outstanding advantages and prospects compared with other AIE materials, and applications in sensors and biomedical therapeutics. Finally, the future directions of the integrated materials of AIE MOFs are prospected. Background: In clinical hematology, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is notably heterogeneous and varies in prognosis. Serum albumin (SA) is considered a biomarker of prognostic value in a number of hematologic malignancies. However, current knowledge of the association between SA levels and survival is limited, especially in DLBCL patients aged ≥70 years. Thus, this study sought to assess the prognostic value of SA levels among this age group of patients., Methods: The data of DLBCL patients aged ≥70 years at the Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital in China from 2010 to 2021 were retrospectively reviewed. The SA levels were measured using standard procedures. The Kaplan-Meier method was used to estimate survival time, and the Cox proportional hazards model for time-to-event data was used to identify potential risk factors., Results: The data of 96 participants were included in the study. The univariate analysis showed that B symptoms, Ann Arbor stage III or IV of the disease, high International Prognostic Index (IPI) scores, high NCCN-IPI scores, and low SA levels were prognostic factors for an undesirable overall survival (OS) rate.
