The peptide-like molecule cyanoformamide (NCCONH2) is the cyano (CN) derivative of formamide (NH2CHO). It is known to play a role in the synthesis of nucleic acid precursors under prebiotic conditions. In this paper, we present a tentative detection of NCCONH2 in the interstellar medium with the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) archive data. 10 unblended lines of NCCONH2 were seen around 3σ noise levels toward Sagittarius B2(N1E), a position that is slightly offset from the continuum peak. The column density of NCCONH2 was estimated to be 2.4 × 1015 cm−2, and the fractional abundance of NCCONH2 toward Sgr B2(N1E) was 6.9 × 10−10. The abundance ratio between NCCONH2 and NH2CHO is estimated to be ∼0.01. We also searched for other peptide-like molecules toward Sgr B2(N1E). The abundances of NH2CHO, CH3NCO and CH3NHCHO toward Sgr B2(N1E) were about 1/10 of those toward Sgr B2(N1S), while the abundance of CH3CONH2 was only 1/20 of that toward Sgr B2(N1S). We report a measurement of the trigonometric parallax of 22 GHz water masers in the massive star-forming region G034.43+0.24 as part of the Bar and Spiral Structure Legacy Survey using the Very Long Baseline Array. The parallax is 0.330 ± 0.018 mas, corresponding to a distance of 3.03 − 0.16 + 0.17 kpc. This locates G034.43+0.24 near the inner edge of the Sagittarius spiral arm and at one end of a linear distribution of massive young stars that cross nearly the full width of the arm. The measured three-dimensional motion of G034.43+0.24 indicates a near-circular Galactic orbit. The world's governments imposed a plethora of restrictions and quarantine rules to prevent the rapid spread of COVID-19. China was chosen for this study as it was the first market to be impacted. The overall aim of this paper was to analyse international air travel to and from China since the start of COVID-19 and to assess the impact of policy initiatives on seat capacity during this time. The key findings are that implementation of the so called Five one policy in March 2020 was associated with an almost immediate reduction in seat capacity on China to the rest of the world, partially suppressing the more typical impact of underlying GDP and air fares on capacity. It was further found that Chinese international gateways, as airports with substantial proportions of international and connecting traffic, remain the most distressed. Long haul international traffic and revenues from European and North American destinations all experienced unprecedented and sharp reductions. Traffic and revenues from other Asian markets was even more sporadic. Alarmingly, the study extracted that revenues from premium classes were deteriorating much faster than economy class, which is of imminent concern for long-haul carriers reliant on premium traffic coming into the pandemic. We report Very Long Baseline Array observations of 22 GHz H2O and 43 GHz SiO masers toward the Mira variable RR Aql. By fitting the SiO maser emission to a circular ring, we estimate the absolute stellar position of RR Aql and find agreement with Gaia astrometry to within the joint uncertainty of ≈1 mas. Using the maser astrometry we measure a stellar parallax of 2.44 ± 0.07 mas, corresponding to a distance of 410 âˆ' 11 + 12 pc. The maser parallax deviates significantly from the Gaia EDR3 parallax of 1.95 ± 0.11 mas, indicating a 3.8 σ tension between radio and optical measurements. This tension is most likely caused by optical photocenter variations limiting the Gaia astrometric accuracy for this Mira variable. Combining infrared magnitudes with parallaxes for RR Aql and other Miras, we fit a periodâ€"luminosity relation using a Bayesian approach with Markov Chain Monte Carlo sampling and a strong prior for the slope of âˆ'3.60 ± 0.30 from the Large Magellanic Cloud. We find a K -band zero-point (defined at logP(days) = 2.30) of âˆ'6.79 ± 0.15 mag using very long baseline interferometry (VLBI) parallaxes and âˆ'7.08 ± 0.29 mag using Gaia parallaxes. Peptide bonds, as the molecular bridges that connect amino acids, are crucial to the formation of proteins. Searches and studies of molecules with embedded peptide-like bonds are thus important for the understanding of protein formation in space. Here we report the first tentative detection of propionamide (C2H5CONH2), the largest peptide-like molecule detected in space toward Sagittarius B2(N1) at a position called N1E that is slightly offset from the continuum peak. New laboratory measurements of the propionamide spectrum were carried out in the 9–461 GHz range, which provide good opportunity to check directly for the transition frequencies of detected interstellar lines of propionamide. Our observing result indicates that propionamide emission comes from the warm, compact cores in Sagittarius B2, in which massive protostellars are forming. The column density of propionamide toward Sgr B2(N1E) was derived to be 1.5 × 1016 cm−2, which is three-fifths of that of acetamide, and one-nineteenth of that of formamide. This detection suggests that large peptide-like molecules can form and survive during star-forming process and may form more complex molecules in the interstellar medium (ISM). Context. Recent observations suggest a scenario in which filamentary structures in the interstellar medium represent the first step towards clumps/cores and eventually star formation. The densest filaments would then fragment into prestellar cores owing to gravitational instability. Aims. We seek to understand the roles filamentary structures play in high-mass star formation. Methods. We mapped the integral-shaped filament (ISF) located at the northern end of the Orion A molecular cloud in NH3 (1, 1) and (2, 2). The observations were made using the 25 m radio telescope operated by the Xinjiang Astronomical Observatory, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The whole filamentary structure, about 1.2° × 0.6°, is uniformly and fully sampled. We investigate the morphology, fragmentation, kinematics, and temperature properties in this region. Results. We find that the morphology revealed by the map of velocity-integrated intensity of the NH3 (1, 1) line is closely associated with the dust ridge revealed by the Herschel Space Observatory. We identify 6 "lumps" related to the well known OMC-1 to 5 and 11 "sub-clumps" within the map. The clumps and sub-clumps are separated not randomly but in roughly equal intervals along the ISF. The average spacing of clumps is 11.30′ ± 1.31′ (1.36 ± 0.16 pc) and the average spacing of sub-clumps is 7.18′ ± 1.19′ (0.86 ± 0.14 pc). These spacings agree well with the predicted values of the thermal (0.86 pc) and turbulent sausage instability (1.43 pc) by adopting a cylindric geometry of the ISF with an inclination of 60° with respect to the line of sight. We also find a velocity gradient of about 0.6 km s-1 pc-1 that runs along the ISF which likely arises from an overall rotation of the Orion A molecular cloud. The inferred ratio between rotational and gravitational energy is well below unity. Furthermore, fluctuations are seen in the centroid velocity diagram along the ISF. The OMC-1 to 5 clouds are located close to the local extrema of the fluctuations, which suggests that there exist gas flows associated with these clumps in the ISF. The derived NH3 (1, 1) and (2, 2) rotation temperatures in the OMC-1 are about 30-40 K while lower temperatures (below 20 K) are obtained in the northern and southern parts of the ISF. Iterative linear equation solvers rely on high-quality preconditioners to achieve fast convergence. For sparse symmetric systems arising from large power grid analysis problems, however, preconditioners generated by traditional incomplete Cholesky factorization are usually of low quality, resulting in slow convergence. On the other hand, preconditioners generated by random walks are quite effective to reduce the number of iterations, though requiring considerable amount of time to compute in a stochastic manner. We propose in this paper a new preconditioning technique for power grid analysis, named deterministic random walk that combines the advantages of the above two approaches. Our proposed algorithm computes the preconditioners in a deterministic manner to reduce computation time, while achieving similar quality as stochastic random walk preconditioning by modifying fill-ins to compensate dropped entries. We have proved that for such compensation scheme, our algorithm will always succeed, which otherwise cannot be guaranteed by traditional incomplete factorizations. We demonstrate that by incorporating our proposed preconditioner, a conjugate gradient solver is able to outperform a state-of-the-art algebraic multigrid preconditioned solver for dc analysis, and is very efficient for transient simulation on public IBM power grid benchmarks. Data for a number of OH maser lines have been collected from surveys. The positions are compared with recent mid-infrared (MIR) surveys such as the Spitzer Galactic Legacy Infrared Mid-Plane Survey Extraordinaire (GLIMPSE) and Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) surveys, restricting the comparison to point sources. The colours and intensities of the IR sources are compared. There are many 18-cm OH masers, but far fewer in lines arising from higher energy levels. We also make a comparison with 5-cm Class II methanol masers. We have divided the results into three subsamples: those associated with OH masers only, those associated with OH masers and Class II methanol masers and those associated with Class II methanol masers only. There are no obvious differences in the colour–colour or colour–magnitude results for the GLIMPSE point sources. However, according to the results from the WISE 22-μm survey, the sources associated with OH masers are brighter than those associated with methanol masers. We interpret the presence of OH and methanol masers as marking the locations of regions where stars are forming. The OH masers are located on the borders of sharp features found in the IR. These are referred to as bubbles. If the OH masers mark the positions of protostars, the result provides indirect evidence for triggered star formation caused by the expansion of the bubbles. Airport congestion is worsening worldwide, and is one of the bottlenecks constraining the development of global air transportation. Based on a comparison of the current airport congestion models, this paper improves the diffusion approximation model for airport congestion pricing developed by Milan Janic in 2005 in the following three areas: (1) redefining the processes of the congestion queue, (2) adding the threshold of congestion queue, and (3) amending the sub-model of delay costs. This new diffusion approximation model for airport congestion pricing was applied to Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK). After calculating delay times and delay costs at this airport on 21st July, 2007, the congestion tolls for various airlines at various times were calculated. We have observed a young stellar object, IRAS 18360-0537, with a far-infrared luminosity of 1.2 × 105 L⊙. It is perhaps the most promising candidate of a high-mass protostar associated with a Keplerian disk and a jet/outflow system in the regime of L > 105L⊙. Summary: Enhancers can regulate designate promoters over long distances by forming chromatin loops. Whether chromatin loops are lost or reconfigured during gene repression is largely unexplored. We examined the chromosome conformation of the Kit gene that is expressed during early erythropoiesis but is downregulated upon cell maturation. Kit expression is controlled by sequential occupancy of two GATA family transcription factors. In immature cells, a distal enhancer bound by GATA-2 is in physical proximity with the active Kit promoter. Upon cell maturation, GATA-1 displaces GATA-2 and triggers a loss of the enhancer/promoter interaction. Moreover, GATA-1 reciprocally increases the proximity in nuclear space among distinct downstream GATA elements. GATA-1-induced transitions in chromatin conformation are not simply the consequence of transcription inhibition and require the cofactor FOG-1. This work shows that a GATA factor exchange reconfigures higher-order chromatin organization, and suggests that de novo chromatin loop formation is employed by nuclear factors to specify repressive outcomes. Ischemic stroke (IS) is a common neurological disease in the elderly, but the relationship between neutrophil/albumin ratio (NAR) and leukocyte count/albumin ratio (LAR) and the severity of neurological function injury and early neurological deterioration (END) occurrence remain elusive in acute IS. A total of 299 patients with acute IS and 56 healthy controls were enrolled. According to the NIHSS score at admission, the disease group was divided into three groups (mild, moderate and severe IS), and the differences in five indexes NAR, LAR, neutrophil count, leukocyte count and albumin among the four groups were analyzed. Furthermore, explore the correlation between the above indicators and the severity of IS and END occurrence. The results showed that higher NAR, LAR, neutrophil count, leukocyte count levels and lower albumin levels were associated with acute IS, and the levels of NAR and LAR increased gradually in three groups of IS. NAR and LAR were positively and albumin was negatively correlated with the severity of IS. Meanwhile, NAR and LAR showed a good predictive value in identifying patients with END after acute IS. The nature of the spiral structure of the Milky Way has long been debated. Only in the last decade have astronomers been able to accurately measure distances to a substantial number of high-mass star-forming regions, the classic tracers of spiral structure in galaxies. We report distance measurements at radio wavelengths using the Very Long Baseline Array for eight regions of massive star formation near the Local spiral arm of the Milky Way. Combined with previous measurements, these observations reveal that the Local Arm is larger than previously thought, and both its pitch angle and star formation rate are comparable to those of the Galaxy's major spiral arms, such as Sagittarius and Perseus. Toward the constellation Cygnus, sources in the Local Arm extend for a great distance along our line of sight and roughly along the solar orbit. Because of this orientation, these sources cluster both on the sky and in velocity to form the complex and long enigmatic Cygnus X region. We also identify a spur that branches between the Local and Sagittarius spiral arms.

Histone lysine methylation regulates genomic functions, including gene transcription. Previous reports found various degrees of methylation at H3K4, H3K9, and H4K20 within the transcribed region of active mammalian genes. To identify the enzymes responsible for placing these modifications, we examined ASH1L, the mammalian homolog of the Drosophila melanogaster Trithorax group (TrxG) protein Ash1. Drosophila Ash1 has been reported to methylate H3K4, H3K9, and H4K20 at its target sites. Here we demonstrate that mammalian ASH1L associates with the transcribed region of all active genes examined, including Hox genes. The distribution of ASH1L in transcribed chromatin strongly resembles that of methylated H3K4 but not that of H3K9 or H4K20. Accordingly, the SET domain of ASH1L methylates H3K4 in vitro, and knockdown of ASH1L expression reduced H3K4 trimethylation at HoxA10 in vivo. Notably, prior methylation at H3K9 reduced ASH1L-mediated methylation at H3K4, suggesting cross-regulation among these marks. Drosophila ash1 and trithorax interact genetically, and the mammalian TrxG protein MLL1 and ASH1L display highly similar distributions and substrate specificities. However, by using MLL null cell lines we found that their recruitments occur independently of each other. Collectively, our data suggest that ASH1L occupies most, if not all, active genes and methylates histone H3 in a nonredundant fashion at a subset of genes.
