This paper proposed a fabrication of p-type Germanium (Ge) tri-gate field-effect transistors (Tri-gate FETs) via green nanosecond laser crystallization (GNSLC) and counter doping (CD). By using the GNSLC, the nano-crystalline-Ge (nc-Ge) with a grain size of 80 nm could be turned into polycrystalline Ge (poly-Ge) with that of above $1 ~\mu \text{m}$ . With the increase of laser power, the improved crystallinity and lower hole concentration of poly-Ge were also verified by Raman spectra and Hall measurement. To fabricate the high-performance Ge Tri-gate FETs, the chemical-mechanical planarization (CMP) and counter doping (CD) process would further be utilized. The CMP process eliminated the surface roughness of poly-Ge while the CD process decreased the hole concentration of poly-Ge or even converted that into an N-type one. The effect of the CD on the performance of p-type Ge Tri-gate FETs was further investigated. Consequently, the GNSLC Ge Tri-gate FETs showed threshold voltage (Vth) of −0.41 V, ION of $7.10\times 10\; ^{-6}$ , and IOFF of $1.28\times 10\; ^{-9}$ respectively, indicating better crystallinity of the Ge channel.

The stress of TSV with different dimensions under annealing condition has been investigated. Since the application of TSV and bonding technology has demonstrated a promising approach for vertical connection in HBM stacking, the stress caused by Cu TSV substrates needs to be carefully investigated. The changing in TSV size under the same TSV aspect ratio does not obviously affect the stress toward the surroundings. On the other hand, the adjustment on TSV aspect ratios results in different stress values, and the aspect ratio of 1:8 results in the largest stress in the analysis. Besides, the annealing temperature has more influence on the stress than the size of TSV. As a consequence, reduction on the annealing temperature is an effective method to achieve a low stress for TSV in HBM stacks. Therefore, several methods for low temperature hybrid bonding have also been reviewed and discussed.

Alternative splicing (AS) is a universal post-transcriptional regulation process in cells, and increasing evidences have validated its crucial role in tumors. We collected AS event, gene expression, and clinical data of 178 AML patients from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) project. More than 1,000 AS events were found associated with overall survival (OS), and alternate promoter (AP) events were the most significant. The expression of the KIAA0930 transcript was the most significantly different AS event selected from AP events and significantly correlated with the expression of the splicing factor (SF) polypyrimidine tract-binding protein 1 (PTBP1). Then, the roles of PTBP1 on AS of the KIAA0930 and the proliferation of AML cells were confirmed. KIAA0930 variant 1 (KIAA0930-1) was upregulated and variant 2 (KIAA0930-2) downregulated with knockdown PTBP1 expression of AML cells by specific shRNA. A low level of PTBP1 can decrease the proliferation ability of AML cells. In conclusion, the results showed that PTBP1 might be a potential target for AML therapy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

BACKGROUND: Adrenomedullin levels in the peripheral blood are associated with prognosis of some cancers. Intermedin is structural similarities to adrenomedullin. OBJECTIVE: The current study aimed to investigate the prognostic value of plasma intermedin levels for progression and distant metastasis in prostate cancers. METHODS: This study included 218 patients undergoing radical prostatectomy for localized prostatic cancer and 218 agematched healthy men. Plasma intermedin levels were measured using radioimmunoassay. The relationships between plasma intermedin levels and 5-year progression and 5-year distant metastasis were evaluated using a multivariate analysis. RESULTS: Plasma intermedin levels were markedly higher in all patients than in healthy men. Patients with Gleason score ≥ 7, tumor node metastasis stage T2, organ unconfined, present extra-prostatic extension, seminal vesicle invasion or positive lymph node had higher intermedin levels. Intermedin was identified as a prognostic predictor for 5-year progression and 5-year metastasis. Under receiver operating characteristic curves, intermedin had high predictive values for 5-year progression and 5-year metastasis. CONCLUSIONS: Elevated plasma intermedin levels are independently associated with long-term recurrence and distant metastasis of prostate cancer and intermedin has potential to be a prognostic predictive biomarker for prostate cancer.
