The purging plug is essential for enhancing production efficiency in molten steel refining, yet it faces challenges related to structural integrity due to its lifespan often not aligning with the ladle's repair cycle. This study introduces a novel corundum-calcium hexaluminate purging plug with gradual holes designed to alleviate internal stress concentration. Utilizing a multi-objective optimization model and fluid-solid coupling heat transfer method, the impact of structural parameters on thermal and mechanical properties was systematically investigated. The numerical simulation results indicate that increasing the number of gradient layers positively impacts temperature distribution. Notably, the D-210 (1.0 mm diameter) aperture reduces the stress gradient Δσmax by 648.06 MPa compared to D-212 (1.2 mm diameter) at the Y = 0.313 m section. Additionally, variation in inclination angle impacts tensile stress σt and shear stress τ, an inclination angle of 6° (α6) reduces maximum tensile stress by 211.41 MPa compared to an angle of 0° (α0).

Introduction Lung cancer is a significant cause of mortality, especially among smokers. Lung cancer and smoking are strongly associated, according to numerous studies. Methods Publications related to smoking and lung cancer were retrieved from the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) database of the Web of Science Core Collection for the period 1994–2023. Descriptive and visual analyses were performed on the topics, journals, countries, institutions, authors, and citations of the publications. Results A total of 728 articles were retrieved from the Web of Science (WOS) SCIE database for the period January 1994 to December 2023, and the number of publications in the relevant literature demonstrated a progressive increase with time. A total of 647 articles were classified as experimental, while 81 were classified as reviews. The studies were published in 200 journals. The three journals that published the most articles were the American Journal of Epidemiology with 82 articles, Lung Cancer with 34 articles, and Cancer Causes and Control with 26 articles. The three most prolific countries were the United States (286 articles, 38.3%; 15879 citations), China (116 articles, 15.9%; 2911 citations), and France (75 articles, 10.3%; 3694 citations). The four most popular keywords in this field are ‘early cancer detection’, ‘experimental’, ‘CT’, and ‘survival rate’. Conclusions The findings of our study revealed key areas for focus in smoking and lung cancer research, having a view of supplying important data and motivation for further investigations.

The Bacillus velezensis strain NBNZ-0060 was isolated from the bottom sediment samples of the lake Jin in Wuhan, China. This strain is an aerobic denitrifying bacterium and able to promote growth of submerged macrophytes. The 3,929,784 bp entire genome contains 3,781 coding sequences (CDS), 27 rRNAs, 85 tRNAs, 5 ncRNAs, with an average G + C content of 46.5%. The average nucleotide identity and digital DNA-DNA values between strain NBNZ-0060 and Bacillus velezensis NRRL B-41580T were 98.28% and 84.5%, respectively. The genome data have been deposited in NCBI with the accession number CP133277.1.

Abstract Background Work-related neck pain (WRNP) is a leading cause of disability and absenteeism. Patients with neck pain often have neck muscle tenderness and decreased cervical mobility, which are sometimes combined with psychosocial issues, such as pain catastrophising, thereby reducing their work ability. Whilst multidisciplinary treatments, including pharmacological interventions, manual therapy and specific neck exercises, have produced positive outcomes, effective personalised treatment modalities are still needed. Furthermore, manual therapies using the hands can bring fatigue to therapist. Occiflex is a computerised device that can provide personalised segmental joint mobilisation based on symptoms and injury of the patient and then provide a medium range of joint activities to improve range of cervical motion. This study aims to compare the effect of computerised mobilisation performed with Occiflex with that of traditional manual therapy on WRNP. Methods We will conduct a prospective randomised controlled trial including 150 patients with WRNP. These patients will be randomly assigned to one of three groups: (i) home exercise (TE), (ii) home exercise plus Occiflex therapy and (iii) home exercise plus manual therapy delivered by a physical therapist. Ten treatment sessions will be performed in four weeks. During the trial, these patients will receive only the assigned treatment and the standard patient education and will be asked not to use any analgesics unless strictly necessary. Assessments by trained evaluators will occur at baseline, week 4 and week 12. The primary outcome measures will include visual analogue scale (VAS) for pain and neck disability index (NDI) at each time point. Secondary outcome measures will include cervical range of motion (CROM), pressure pain threshold (PPT), global perceived effect (GPE) and sick leave. Group by time differences will be analysed using linear mixed models with repeated measures. Discussion This protocol describes the methods for a randomised controlled trial to compare the effectiveness of computerised versus manual mobilisation techniques in treating WRNP. The results will provide an alternative method (Occiflex) that is possibly effective for treating neck pain whilst minimising the manual work done by therapists. Abstract Background Enzymatic browning and microbial decay are the primary concerns that limit the postharvest life of longan fruit. These factors can be effectively prevented by sulfur dioxide (SO2) fumigation; however, due to the safety and regulatory issues of SO2, other alternatives must be tested. In this study, antioxidant and antimicrobial activities of thymol were determined against the pericarp browning and decay of longan fruit. A simple, cost-effective method was designed for its controlled release. Thymol vapors were obtained from the slurry prepared from 5 g of thymol in 5 mL of distilled water in a 180-mL glass jar, hermetically sealed and allowed for 24 h to accumulate the vapors in the headspace. Fruits were packed in polyethylene packages and fumigated with thymol through a septum. Non-fumigated fruits served as control and all the packages were stored at 25 ± 2 °C for 8 days. Results Thymol significantly (P ≤ 0.05) retarded pericarp browning (BI), delayed the decay incidence (DI) and maintained high color values of longan pericarp. Thymol also retained high total phenolic (TPC) and total flavonoid (TFC) contents, inhibited polyphenol oxidase (PPO) and peroxidase (POD) activities than those in control. A high coefficient of correlation of PPO with BI (r = 0.86), L* (r = − 0.94), weight loss (r = 0.93), TPC (r = − 0.77), TFC (r = − 0.80), DI (r = 0.92) and many other quality and color parameters indicated the antioxidant efficacy of thymol. Longer shelf life of 8 days with good quality attributes was obtained in thymol-treated fruits than 6 days in control. Conclusion Thymol could be effectively used as a natural antioxidant for a wide range of fruits. Graphic abstract

Abstract Recently, we established silicone oil-induced ocular hypertension (SOHU) mouse model with significant glaucomatous neurodegeneration. Here we characterize two additional variations of this model that simulate two distinct glaucoma types. The first is a chronic model produced by high frequency (HF) pupillary dilation after SO-induced pupillary block, which shows sustained moderate IOP elevation and corresponding slow, mild glaucomatous neurodegeneration. We also demonstrate that although SO removal quickly returns IOP to normal, the glaucomatous neurodegeneration continues to advance to a similar degree as in the HF group without SO removal. The second, an acute model created by no pupillary dilation (ND), shows a greatly elevated IOP and severe inner retina degeneration at an early time point. Therefore, by a straightforward dilation scheme, we extend our original SOHU model to recapitulate phenotypes of two major glaucoma forms, which will be invaluable for selecting neuroprotectants and elucidating their molecular mechanisms.

Abstract Enzyme-catalyzed proximity labeling (PL) combined with mass spectrometry (MS) has emerged as a revolutionary approach to reveal the protein-protein interaction networks, dissect complex biological processes, and characterize the subcellular proteome in a more physiological setting than before. The enzymatic tags are being upgraded to improve temporal and spatial resolution and obtain faster catalytic dynamics and higher catalytic efficiency. In vivo application of PL integrated with other state of the art techniques has recently been adapted in live animals and plants, allowing questions to be addressed that were previously inaccessible. It is timely to summarize the current state of PL-dependent interactome studies and their potential applications. We will focus on in vivo uses of newer versions of PL and highlight critical considerations for successful in vivo PL experiments that will provide novel insights into the protein interactome in the context of human diseases.

In cancer cells, a gain of stemness may have profound implications for tumor initiation, aggressiveness, and clinical outcome. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying the self-renewal maintenance of cancer stem-like cells (CSCs) remain elusive. Here, based on analysis of transcriptome sequencing, we identified a long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) named HotairM1, which is weakly expressed in human colorectal carcinoma and uveal melanoma, and a much lower expression in corresponding CSCs. Our results showed that HotairM1 depletion could promote CSC self-renewal and tumor propagation. Mechanistically, HotairM1 recruit EZH2 and SUZ12 to the promoter of its target gene HOXA1, leading to histone H3K27 trimethylation and epigenetic silencing of HOXA1. The silence of HOXA1 subsequently induces the H3K27 acetylation at the enhancer site of Nanog gene to upregulate its expression. The enrichment of Nanog could further inhibit HOXA1 expression, forming a reciprocal regulation loop augmenting the stemness maintaining effect. In summary, our results revealed a lncRNA-based regulatory loop that sustains self-renewal of CSCs, which highlights the critical role of HotairM1 in CSC development through the HOXA1-Nanog signaling loop.

Identification of components and metabolites of traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs) employing liquid chromatography-quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (LC-Q-TOF MS) techniques with information-dependent acquisition (IDA) approaches is increasingly frequent. A current drawback of IDA-MS is that the complexity of a sample might prevent important compounds from being triggered in IDA settings. Sequential window acquisition of all theoretical fragment-ion spectra (SWATH) is a data-independent acquisition (DIA) method where the instrument deterministically fragments all precursor ions within the predefined m/z range in a systematic and unbiased fashion. Herein, the superiority of SWATH on the detection of TCMs’ components was firstly investigated by comparing the detection efficiency of SWATH-MS and IDA-MS data acquisition modes, and sanguisorbin extract was used as a mode TCM. After optimizing the setting parameters of SWATH, rolling collision energy (CE) and variable Q1 isolation windows were found to be more efficient for sanguisorbin identification than the fixed CE and fixed Q1 isolation window. More importantly, the qualitative efficiency of SWATH-MS on sanguisorbins was found significantly higher than that of IDA-MS data acquisition. In IDA mode, 18 kinds of sanguisorbins were detected in sanguisorbin extract. A total of 47 sanguisorbins were detected when SWATH-MS was used under rolling CE and flexible Q1 isolation window modes. Besides, 26 metabolites of sanguisorbins were identified in rat plasma, and their metabolic pathways could be deduced as decarbonylation, oxidization, reduction, methylation, and glucuronidation according to their fragmental ions acquired in SWATH-MS mode. Thus, SWATH-MS data acquisition could provide more comprehensive information for the component and metabolite identification for TCMs than IDA-MS.

Mental health issues are becoming increasingly prevalent amongst university students. However, research on the psychological profile of the general university population is relatively limited. Thus, this study analyses the current state of university students’ psychological conditions; the demographic differences in depression, anxiety, and stress and the influencing factors. The objectives are to provide additional appropriate guidance in mental health for university students with different demographic characteristics. A cross-sectional study of 6,032 university students nationwide was conducted from October 2020 to January 2021. A randomized whole-group sampling method was used to select the study participants, and the 21-item Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale (DASS) was used. P < 0.05 in the final model were considered statistically significant. The number of university students with no complain of depression, anxiety, or stress was 3,751 (62.2%). The odds of developing complain of depression were higher amongst anxious respondents (AOR = 23.417, 95% CI: 19.706, 27.826) and senior year (AOR = 2.210, 95% CI: 1.657, 2.947) than their counterparts. Students with “myopia” were 1.263 times more likely to be anxious (AOR = 1.263, 95% CI: 1.042–1.530). In terms of “impaired” or not, impaired is defined as any injury, such as sprain, strain, and fracture, “impaired” university students were 1.321 times more likely to be anxious (AOR = 1.321, 95% CI: 1.064–1.641). Furthermore, history of impairment and myopia increased the odds of stress by 1.305 (AOR = 1.305, 95% CI: 1.022–1.667) and 1.305 (AOR = 1.305, 95% CI: 1.012–1.683), respectively. Myopia, physical-activity-related injury (PARI) and irrational eating habits are risk factors for complain of anxiety and stress. Males, upper grades, low parental education, and irrational eating habits are risk factors for complain of depression. Low physical activity levels are also an influential factor for complain of depression. DASS consists of interchangeable risk factors and multiple complains of DASS may coexist.

Abstract Nanostructured forms of stoichiometric In2O3 are proving to be efficacious catalysts for the gas-phase hydrogenation of CO2. These conversions can be facilitated using either heat or light; however, until now, the limited optical absorption intensity evidenced by the pale-yellow color of In2O3 has prevented the use of both together. To take advantage of the heat and light content of solar energy, it would be advantageous to make indium oxide black. Herein, we present a synthetic route to tune the color of In2O3 to pitch black by controlling its degree of non-stoichiometry. Black indium oxide comprises amorphous non-stoichiometric domains of In2O3-x on a core of crystalline stoichiometric In2O3, and has 100% selectivity towards the hydrogenation of CO2 to CO with a turnover frequency of 2.44 s−1.

Background: Ginsenoside Rb1 (Rb1), one of the most abundant protopanaxadiol-type ginsenosides, exerts excellent neuroprotective effects even though it has low intracephalic exposure. Purpose: The present study aimed to elucidate the apparent contradiction between the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of Rb1 by studying the mechanisms underlying neuroprotective effects of Rb1 based on regulation of microflora. Methods: A pseudo germ-free (PGF) rat model was established, and neuroprotective effects of Rb1 were compared between conventional and PGF rats. The relative abundances of common probiotics were quantified to reveal the authentic probiotics that dominate in the neuroprotection of Rb1. The expressions of the gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptors, including GABAA receptors (α2, β2, and γ2) and GABAB receptors (1b and 2), in the normal, ischemia/reperfusion (I/R), and I/R+Rb1 rat hippocampus and striatum were assessed to reveal the neuroprotective mechanism of Rb1. Results: The results showed that microbiota plays a key role in neuroprotection of Rb1. The relative abundance of Lactobacillus helveticus (Lac.H) increased 15.26 fold after pretreatment with Rb1. I/R surgery induced effects on infarct size, neurological deficit score, and proinflammatory cytokines (IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α) were prevented by colonizing the rat gastrointestinal tract with Lac.H (1 × 109 CFU) by gavage 15 d before I/R surgery. Both Rb1 and Lac.H upregulated expression of GABA receptors in I/R rats. Coadministration of a GABAA receptor antagonist significantly attenuated neuroprotective effects of Rb1 and Lac.H. Conclusion: In sum, Rb1 exerts neuroprotective effects by regulating Lac.H and GABA receptors rather than through direct distribution to the target sites. Abstract Background Dynamic N6-methyladenosine (m6A) RNA modification generated and erased by N6-methyltransferases and demethylases regulates gene expression, alternative splicing and cell fate. Ocular melanoma, comprising uveal melanoma (UM) and conjunctival melanoma (CM), is the most common primary eye tumor in adults and the 2nd most common melanoma. However, the functional role of m6A modification in ocular melanoma remains unclear. Methods m6A assays and survival analysis were used to explore decreased global m6A levels, indicating a late stage of ocular melanoma and a poor prognosis. Multiomic analysis of miCLIP-seq, RNA-seq and Label-free MS data revealed that m6A RNA modification posttranscriptionally promoted HINT2 expression. RNA immunoprecipitation (RIP)-qPCR and dual luciferase assays revealed that HINT2 mRNA specifically interacted with YTHDF1. Furthermore, polysome profiling analysis indicated a greater amount of HINT2 mRNA in the translation pool in ocular melanoma cells with higher m6A methylation. Results Here, we show that RNA methylation significantly inhibits the progression of UM and CM. Ocular melanoma samples showed decreased m6A levels, indicating a poor prognosis. Changes in global m6A modification were highly associated with tumor progression in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistically, YTHDF1 promoted the translation of methylated HINT2 mRNA, a tumor suppressor in ocular melanoma. Conclusions Our work uncovers a critical function for m6A methylation in ocular melanoma and provides additional insight into the understanding of m6A modification.

Background: Screening for post-stroke cognitive impairment (PSCI) is necessary because stroke increases the incidence of and accelerates premorbid cognitive decline. The Quick Mild Cognitive Impairment (Qmci) screen is a short, reliable and accurate cognitive screening instrument but is not yet validated in PSCI. We compared the diagnostic accuracy of a Chinese version of the Qmci screen (Qmci-CN) compared with the widely-used Chinese versions of the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA-CN) and Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE-CN).Methods: We recruited 34 patients who had recovered from a stroke in rehabilitation unit clinics in 2 university hospitals in China: 11 with post-stroke dementia (PSD), 15 with post-stroke cognitive impairment no dementia (PSCIND), and 8 with normal cognition (NC). Classification was made based on clinician assessment supported by a neuropsychological battery, independent of the screening test scores. The Qmci-CN, MoCA-CN, and MMSE-CN screens were administered randomly by a trained rater, blind to the diagnosis.Results: The mean age of the sample was 63 ± 13 years and 61.8% were male. The Qmci-CN had statistically similar diagnostic accuracy in differentiating PSD from NC, an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.94 compared to 0.99 for the MoCA-CN (p = 0.237) and 0.99 for the MMSE-CN (p = 0.293). The Qmci-CN (AUC 0.91), MoCA-CN (AUC 0.94), and MMSE-CN (AUC 0.79) also had statistically similar accuracy in separating PSD from PSCIND. The MoCA-CN more accurately distinguished between PSCIND and normal cognition than the Qmci-CN (p = 0.015). Compared to the MoCA-CN, the administration times of the Qmci-CN (329s vs. 611s, respectively, p < 0.0001) and MMSE-CN (280 vs. 611s, respectively, p < 0.0001) were significantly shorter.Conclusion: The Qmci-CN is accurate in identifying PSD and separating PSD from PSCIND in patients post-stroke following rehabilitation and is comparable to the widely-used MoCA-CN, albeit with a significantly shorter administration time. The Qmci-CN had relatively poor accuracy in identifying PSCIND from NC and hence may lack accuracy for certain subgroups. However, given the small sample size, the study is under-powered to show superiority of one instrument over another. Further study is needed to confirm these findings in a larger sample size and in other settings (countries and languages).

Summary: Solar hydrogen and electricity are promising high energy-density renewable sources. Although photochemistry or photovoltaics are attractive routes, special challenge arises in sunlight conversion efficiency. To improve efficiency, various semiconductor materials have been proposed with selective sunlight absorption. Here, we reported a hybrid system synergizing photo-thermochemical hydrogen and photovoltaics, harvesting full-spectrum sunlight in a cascade manner. A simple suspension of Au-TiO2 in water/methanol serves as a spectrum selector, absorbing ultraviolet-visible and infrared energy for rapid photo-thermochemical hydrogen production. The transmitted visible and near-infrared energy fits the photovoltaic bandgap and retains the high efficiency of a commercial photovoltaic cell under different solar concentration values. The experimental design achieved an overall efficiency of 4.2% under 12 suns solar concentration. Furthermore, the results demonstrated a reduced energy loss in full-spectrum energy conversion into hydrogen and electricity. BackgroundCognitive frailty describes cognitive impairment associated with physical decline. Few studies have explored whether short cognitive screens identify frailty. We examined the diagnostic accuracy of the Chinese versions of the Quick Mild Cognitive Impairment (Qmci-CN) screen and Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA-CN) in identifying cognitive frailty.MethodsNinety-five participants with cognitive symptoms [47 with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), 34 with subjective cognitive disorder, and 14 with dementia] were included from two outpatient rehabilitation clinics. Energy (work intensity) and physical activity levels were recorded. Cognitive frailty was diagnosed by an interdisciplinary team using the IANA/IAGG consensus criteria, stratified on the Clinical Frailty Scale (CFS). Instruments were administered sequentially and randomly by trained assessors, blind to the diagnosis.ResultsThe mean age of the sample was 62.6 ± 10.2 years; median CFS score was 4 ± 1 and 36 (38%) were cognitively frail. The Qmci-CN had similar accuracy in differentiating the non-frail from cognitively frail compared to the MoCA-CN, AUC 0.82 versus 0.74, respectively (p = 0.19). At its optimal cut-off (≤55/100), the Qmci-CN provided a sensitivity of 83% and specificity of 67% versus 91% and 51%, respectively, for the MoCA-CN (≤23/30). Neither was accurate in separating MCI from cognitive frailty but both accurately separated cognitive frailty from dementia.ConclusionEstablished short cognitive screens may be useful in identifying cognitive frailty in Chinese adults with cognitive complaints but not in separating MCI from cognitive frailty. The Qmci-CN had similar accuracy to the MoCA-CN and a shorter administration time in this small and under-powered study, necessitating the need for adequately powered studies in different healthcare settings.

Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been identified as crucial regulators in many human cancers. Many lncRNAs show aberrant expression in cancer, and some of them play critical roles in tumor proliferation, invasion, and metastasis. However, the regulatory functions of lncRNAs in melanoma progression remain to be elucidated. We utilized the Real-time PCR methodology to determine the expression of LINC-PINT in melanoma cell lines. To evaluate the effect of LINC-PINT on tumorigenesis of melanoma, we used Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK8) and colony formation assay. Flow cytometry assay was used to detect the function of LINC-PINT on cell cycle status. PINT-interacting proteins were identified by chromatin isolation using RNA purification (ChIRP). Microarray assay and bioinformatics analysis were used to find the potential target genes of LINC-PINT and the status of LINC-PINT target gene candidate was verified using chromatin immunoprecipitation assay (ChIP). LINC-PINT plays a role in suppressing the tumorigenicity of melanoma, which was further determined by xenograft model assay. LINC-PINT was significantly downregulated in melanoma tissues and cell lines. The overexpression of LINC-PINT in tumor cells resulted in significant tumor growth reduction and migration inhibition in A375, Mum2B and CRMM1 cells. Results based on the in vivo xenograft model were further consistent with the in vitro findings that LINC-PINT impeded growth and metastasis of melanoma cells. Microarray assay and bioinformatics analysis indicated that CDK1, CCNA2, AURKA, and PCNA were potential targets of LINC-PINT. In conclusion, LINC-PINT inhibits the tumorigenicity of melanoma through recruiting EZH2 to the promoter of its target genes, leading to H3K27 trimethylation and epigenetic silencing of target genes. LINC-PINT may serve as a novel diagnostic and therapeutic target for melanoma.

Edible packaging is a sustainable product and technology that uses one kind of “food” (an edible material) to package another kind of food (a packaged product), and organically integrates food with packaging through ingenious material design. Polysaccharides are a reliable source of edible packaging materials with excellent renewable, biodegradable, and biocompatible properties, as well as antioxidant and antimicrobial activities. Using polysaccharide-based materials effectively reduces the dependence on petroleum resources, decreases the carbon footprint of the “product-packaging” system, and provides a “zero-emission” scheme. To date, they have been commercialized and developed rapidly in the food (e.g., fruits and vegetables, meat, nuts, confectioneries, and delicatessens, etc.) packaging industry. However, compared with petroleum-based polymers and plastics, polysaccharides still have limitations in film-forming, mechanical, barrier, and protective properties. Therefore, they need to be improved by reasonable material modifications (chemical or physical modification). This article comprehensively reviews recent research advances, hot issues, and trends of polysaccharide-based materials in edible packaging. Emphasis is given to fundamental compositions and properties, functional modifications, food-packaging applications, and safety risk assessment of polysaccharides (including cellulose, hemicellulose, starch, chitosan, and polysaccharide gums). Therefore, to provide a reference for the development of modern edible packaging.

The modified material at the bottom of lakes plays a key role when restoring and reconstructing the ecology of waterbodies. However, the effects of different substrate types on the growth and development of submerged plants and rhizosphere microorganisms remain unclear. Therefore, this study analyzed the effects of five substrates (attapulgite, biochar, cinder, maifanite, and quartz sand) on the growth and rhizosphere microorganisms of Vallisneria natans (Lour.) Hara (V. natans). The results showed that during the culture period, the mean plant height of V. natans peaked in the maifanite group (26.75 cm), the mean leaf number peaked in the biochar group (12.13), and the mean root activity peaked in the cinder group (83.42 U g−1 min). There was no significant difference in the total chlorophyll content among the groups during culture (P > 0.05). The malondialdehyde content of V. natans leaves in all groups, except quartz sand group, peaked early in the culture period (10 days). Moreover, the superoxide dismutase activity of the five groups increased first and then decreased; however, the catalase activity in the maifanite group decreased significantly compared with the levels in the other groups (P<0.05). This indicates that maifanite supplementation can accelerate the adaptation of V. natans to changes in the environment. After the addition of substrate, the species of dominant bacteria in the rhizosphere remained nearly unchanged, but their relative abundance was different. Specifically, the relative abundance of Desulfobacterota increased in each group, peaking at 9.77% in the maifanite group. This study showed that different substrates had different growth-promoting effects on submerged plants, with maifanite exerting the greatest effect. Recharging the batteries by wireless energy facilitates the long-term running of the batteries, which will save numerous works of battery maintenance and replacement. Thus, harvesting energy form radio frequency (RF) waves has become the most promising solution for providing the micropower needed for wireless sensor applications, especially in a widely distributed 4G/5G wireless network. However, the current research on rectenna is mainly focused on the integrated antenna coupled with metal-insulator-metal tunneling diodes. Herein, by adopting the plasmon excitation of graphene and quantum tunneling process between graphene and GaAs or GaN, we demonstrated the feasibility of harvesting energy from the 915 MHz wireless source belonging to 5G in the FR1 range (450 MHz–6 GHz) which is also known as sub-6G. The generated current and voltage can be observed continuously, with the direction defined by the built-in field between graphene and GaAs and the incident electromagnetic waves treated as the quantum energy source. Under the RF illumination, the generated current increases rapidly and the value can reach in the order of 10-8–10-7 A. The harvester can work under the multiple channel mode, harvesting energy simultaneously from different flows of wireless energy in the air. This research will open a new avenue for wireless harvesting by using the ultrafast process of quantum tunneling and unique physical properties of graphene.

The article discusses antibiotic resistance has a major threat to human health, and one approach to combating threat has to develop resistance-resistant antibiotics. Topics include the oligomer exhibited excellent effectiveness in various model systems, killing extracellular or intracellular bacteria in the presence of mammalian cells, removing all bacteria; and antibiotic resistance has an emerging threat to public health and to the global economy.
