BackgroundChronic alcoholic liver disease (CALD) is a global health problem which includes multiple pathological processes such as immune inflammation and oxidative stress. 4-hydroxy-2(3H)-benzoxazolone (HBOA), an alkaloid isolated from Acanthus ilicifolius L, has been shown to exert hepatoprotective and immunomodulatory effects. However, its effects on CALD remain unclear. This study aimed to investigate the effects and underlying mechanisms of HBOA on CALD.MethodsRats were administered alcohol by gavage continuously for 12 weeks to establish the CALD model, and then treated with HBOA by gavage for 4 weeks. Transcriptomics and metabolomics were used to predict the potential mechanisms of the effects of HBOA on CALD. Liver histology and function, oxidative stress, inflammatory cytokines, and the TLR4/NF-κB pathway components were evaluated.ResultsHBOA significantly improved alcohol-induced liver injury and steatosis. It decreased the expression levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines (tumour necrosis factor-α [TNF-α], interleukin (IL)-1β, and IL-6), and increased the activities of antioxidant enzymes (superoxide dismutase [SOD], glutathione [GSH], and glutathione peroxidase [GSH-Px]). Western blotting confirmed that HBOA treatment largely diminished NF-κBp65 nuclear translocation. Comprehensive transcriptomics and metabolomics analyses indicated that HBOA regulated the glycerophospholipid metabolism pathway to achieve therapeutic effects in rats with CALD.ConclusionHBOA has a therapeutic effect on rats with CALD. Its mechanism of action mainly affects the glycerophospholipid metabolic pathway to promote lipid metabolism homeostasis by regulating the expression of Etnppl, Gpcpd1, and Pla2g4c. In addition, it may also inhibit the TLR4/NF-κB signaling pathway, thereby reducing the immune-inflammatory response.

Photocatalytic catalysis is widely used for pollutant degradation. Since some pollutants with oxidative nature are readily reduced rather than oxidized and reductive reaction caused by photogenerated electrons is limited in the presence of oxygen, photocatalytic reduction process is more applicable for the degradation of pollutants with oxidative nature than oxidation. In this work, a novel bio-photoelectric reductive degradation system (BPRDS), composed of an electrochemically active bacterium Shewanella oneidensis MR-1 and a visible-light photocatalyst Ag3PO4, was established under anaerobic conditions and its photodegradation performance was evaluated through degrading rhodamine B (RhB), a typical organic pollutant. The as-synthesized Ag3PO4 nanoparticles exhibited absorption in the entire visible spectral range of 400–800 nm. RhB could be degraded in BPRDS with visible light irradiation under anaerobic conditions, but not be decomposed in the absence of Shewanella cells. Block of Mtr respiratory pathway, a transmembrane electron transport chain, resulted in a reduction in degradation rate of RHB in BPRDS. Dose of riboflavin also substantially decreased the RhB degradation. These results suggest that the electrons released by Shewanella were involved in the RhB photodegradation, which was achieved via a stepwise N-deethylation process. In BPRDS, RhB was degraded by photoreduction, rather than photooxidation. This work is useful to develop integrated physico-chemical-microbial systems for pollutant degradation, facilitate better understanding about the biophotoelectric reductive degradation mechanisms and beneficial to their applications for environmental remediation. In this paper, we consider an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-enabled mobile relaying system consists of aground control station (GCS), a high-mobility UAV for relaying, a destination, and an eavesdropper. To improve the security of the three-dimension (3D) mobile relaying system with delayed channel state information (CSI), we propose a destination-specific (DS) 3D beamforming scheme and an eavesdropper-null (EN) 3D beamforming scheme, in both the horizontal angle and the vertical angle o f antenna pattern are adapted instantaneously. In particular, we study the secrecy rate maximization problem via trajectory planning. However, this problem with mobility constraint and location constraint is a non-convex optimization problem. To solve it, we propose a successive trajectory planning algorithm by optimizing the incremental in each time-slot. Simulation results verify that the 3D beamforming schemes can greatly improve the security of UAV-enabled mobile relaying system and the proposed trajectory planning algorithm is also proven become effective. Compatibility, morphology structure, and mechanical properties of CPVC/ABS (Chlorinated polyvinyl chloride/acrylonitrile‐butadiene‐styrene) blends were studied. The core‐shell ratios of ABS were set at 40/60 and 70/30. The interface interactions between ABS and CPVC were changed by modifying the acrylonitrile (AN) content of the shell. The compatibility of CPVC with the shell of ABS was studied by the blends of CPVC/SAN with different AN content in SAN. Dynamic mechanical analysis results of CPVC/SAN were in accordance with the morphological properties of CPVC/ABS. The mechanical properties of CPVC/ABS blends in which the polybutadiene content was set to 15 wt % were studied. Results showed, with the change of AN content, the impact strength followed different way for CPVC/ABS blends with different core‐shell ratios of ABS because of the influence of the compatibility. When the core‐shell ratio was 40/60, the CPVC/ABS blends were much ductile in more widely AN range than the blends, whereas the core‐shell ratio of ABS was 70/30. Objective: To make a summary of the experiences in the treatment of abdominal injuries., Methods: A retrospective study was done on 522 cases of abdominal injuries in our department from January 1986 to December 2004., Results: Of all,382 cases were treated by surgery and 140 by conservative method. Among the surgically treated cases, 347 patients (90.8%) recovered, 35(9.2%) died and 21 had postoperative complications (5.6%). For patients undergoing conservative treatment, 139(99.3%) recovered but one (0.7%) died., Conclusions: The severity of abdominal injury and delayed treatment are two key factors leading to death. Surgical procedure is still the main method against alternative abdominal injuries. It is necessary to strictly control the indications in conservative treatment.
