BACKGROUND: According to Gallup survey report, 69% of U.S. workers moved to working remotely in April 2020. Due to COVID-19, work is changing rapidly, including where individuals work. OBJECTIVE: Research in this field has drawn much attention, and in the last ten years, there is a constant augment in the number of publications on the same. Several works of literature on Remote Working (RW) culture have been reported. Nevertheless, only less research is present on bibliometric reviews of RW culture. Therefore, Bibliometric research is wielded in this work and a comprehensive review of relevant publications was taken from Scopus, Web of Science (WOS), together with the Social Science Citation Index Expanded. METHODOLOGY: At first, meticulous bibliometric analyses of 430 published articles are done and descriptive information about a piece of work, namely (a) author, (b) title, (c) date of publication, et cetera, is provided. RESULTS: Mapping the scope along with the structure of the discipline is enabled by these analyzes, which discovers the instituted collaboration patterns amongst countries and organizations, and identifies authoritative papers together with authors. Therefore, the publication's evolution over time is illustrated by these analyses, and the current research interests and potential directions for future study are identified. CONCLUSIONS: This paper incorporates insights on remote working culture and enables mapping the scope and structure of the discipline, discovering the established collaboration patterns among countries and organizations. BACKGROUND: Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are a severe occupational health issue among medical radiation practitioners. It is mostly linked to personal protective wear, working posture, tools employed and ergonomics. OBJECTIVE: To assess and evaluate the musculoskeletal disorders among nuclear medicine professionals (NMP) in India. METHODS: An online survey was distributed to 455 NMP throughout India between November 2021 and March 2022 covering the demographic characteristics and questions for evaluation of musculoskeletal symptoms using the Standardized Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire (NMQ). Participants with any pre-existing musculoskeletal disorder or trauma were excluded. Descriptive statistics summarized the data from the demographics, discomfort, aches and work-related musculoskeletal injuries. Chi-square test was used to examine the association between the obtained values. RESULTS: 91 out of 124 respondents were included based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results shows that there is a significant association between the height of the individual and neck pain, body mass index and elbows pain, age and low back pain, experience in the current work and upper back pain, the weight of the individual and knee pain, use of mobile lead screens and shoulder pain, use of gonad shield, trouble in the ankles and use of lead screens, and QC phantoms for gamma camera / PET and wrists/hands pain. CONCLUSION: Work-related musculoskeletal disorders among NMP are resulting from factors of individual demographic variables (such as age, height, weight, body mass index), years of experience at the current workplace and of using instruments in their work area. Introduction: The Driving Behaviour, Road Crash Involvement, Working Commute (MyDRIVE) questionnaire was developed to assess medical doctors' experience with road crash involvement. The objective of this research was to validate the driving behavioural component of MyDRIVE for medical practitioners in Malaysia. Method: This was a multi-stage study involving item specification, domain specification and domain assessment. Following item pools among the experts, Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) members and their contacts who are partially or fully registered with the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) were surveyed via an online questionnaire between April 2020 and May 2021. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was done with 150 participants and 824 participants, respectively on separate analysis to ensure the factor validity. We examined the standardized loadings, AVE and CR to determine the convergent validity. The discriminant validity was tested through the Fornell-Larcker matrix. Reliability analysis was performed through Cronbach alpha and composite reliability. Results: EFA resulted in reduction of items from 44 items to 23 items with six constructs. Composite reliability (CR) revealed all domains have a CR of above 0.7, except for Driving Under Alcohol Influence (DAI) (0.605). The remaining factors are Distracted Mind & Negative Emotion (DMNE) (0.843), Safe Driving Habit (SDH) (0.862), Fatigue Driving (FD) (0.903), Recreational & Prescribed Driving (RPD) (0.748), and Driving Under Influence of Caffeine (DCI) (0.836). For discriminant validity the square root of AVE for all constructs were greater than its correlations with other latent constructs. Conclusion: Our study finds the driving behavioural component of the MyDRIVE questionnaire among the Malaysian medical doctors to have good reliability and validity. Introduction: workers’ exposure to unhealthy eating is linked to the increase in overweight and obesity. Objective: this systematic review aims to analyze with bias and quality analysis the effect of interventions in the food environment of the work)place on the nutritional status of workers. Methods: the search was conducted in three electronic databases according to the Cochrane Collaboration and eight studies were included. Data were grouped according to type of environmental intervention, and methodological quality and validity with risk of bias was analyzed. Results: three studies had effects on reducing BMI and body weight, but one was judged to be reliable evidence of effectiveness, as they were at low risk of bias. Half of the included articles were assessed at high risk of bias (3/8) and unclear risk of bias (1/8), due to errors in selection and performance and missing data in the results. Conclusions: we conclude that there is not enough evidence to indicate that these types of interventions have an effect on body weight. To make effective interventions, the design of these studies has to avoid potential sources of bias, which were analyzed in detail in this study. The global food environment of workers and not just their workplace must be considered, deepening the interaction that exists between socioeconomic factors and food environments. This study's main objective was to look into how watching television affects kids' learning. Although many kids are exposed to TV, little is known about how television specifically affects learning. TV viewing has been linked to negative effects on children's learning, eyesight, health, and brain development, according to research. Children's exposure to obscene, vulgar language and drug misuse content on TV has also been criticised for turning them into violent, antisocial, and lazy young people. To determine how watching TV affects kids' learning, this study was necessary. Questionnaires, interviews, and observations were used to gather data. The major conclusions demonstrated that school-aged youngsters watched TV more frequently and mostly for amusement. The most watched TV channels were TBC1, ITV, Star TV, Channel 10, and Mlimani TV. Children that watch TV are more likely to have learning disabilities, poor performance, headaches, eye discomfort, and sleep issues. Children's self-confidence, debate abilities, and question-asking and -answering skills were all improved as a result. Children dealt with issues including bullying and lack of focus, and some parents even beat their kids for ignoring chores while watching TV. Due to its content and the amount of time kids spend watching it, TV has been proved to have an impact on kids. By establishing rules for TV programme monitoring, it is advised that TV owners and parents display TV profiles indicating age-appropriate programming. There should be more population-based research done on how certain TV shows affect young people. Over the years, kids have developed a lot greater interest in watching TV, and for some people, it has taken precedence in their daily life. Typically, youngsters start watching television about six months of age, and by the time they are two or three, they are ardent viewers. The fact that so many kids watch television and that many of the programs they watch—even cartoons—have evolved into violent and addicting content—has made this a concern. Today, all TV advertisements aimed to appeal to children as viewers to draw in viewers. Children aged 7 to 15 are interested in purchasing goods (by the influence of ads). The need to monitor advertisements has increased. Children who watch a lot of TV are more likely to struggle with their weight, do worse in school, and develop fewer social skills. This article provides a general opinion of employees working in the organization, their perception towards (organization, job, boss, learning and development, pay, communication, teamwork and colleagues) had taken for the study. The main objective of the research study is to view and measure the opinion levels of employees, to examine the significant differences of opinion among male and female employees. Data analysis includes descriptive and inferential statistics, with the help of statistical package of social sciences. This study gives proof of evidence, as to what facets the employee’s perception towards the study dimensions. The study findings indicate the key variables which are considered on priority to improve further at the workplace environment, as such employee satisfaction leads to higher productivity towards achieving the organizational goals and objectives. The present study provides empirical evidence that business managers can create value for firms by promoting the health of their employees. The results imply that promoting "health and productivity management" can effectively help to pursue business performance, simultaneously together with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Objective: The value effect of winning the health and productivity management (HPM) award on their stock prices is to be evaluated. Methods: An event study and an evaluation of portfolio over the first-time HPM awardees were conducted. Results: The abnormal return (AR) of all the first-time HPM awardees was significantly positive (0.25%, P = 0.03), as well as cumulated AR (P < 0.01 on day 0 and 3, P < 0.05 on day 1 and 2), with a booster effect on the market value by 1.7 × 109 JPY. The stock value appreciation of the portfolio of them was greater than that of the market portfolio (34.3% vs 21.8%). Conclusions: The market participants support the view that HPM improves firms' performance. This positive and instantaneous value effect will encourage business managers to promote employee health. The purpose of this study is to provide the general history of fostering dentists in Japan and introducing their new roles. This research was conducted based on the government policy report on dentists and the information published by each educational institution. Based on the collected data, the official websites were used to represent the latest statistics of the institutions. The number of dentists in Japan has increased. The government established the National Examination for Dentists to guarantee the quality of dentists. After the standards for developing questions for the national examination were established in 1985, the contents of the examination have been appropriately improved by revising the standards every four years. This improvement has required dental students to study a variety of subjects for six years at dental school. Since dentists in Japan are required to respond to various demands from the nation; the Model Core Curriculum for Dental Education was developed to teach medical ethics and abilities to ensure that dentists conduct themselves professionally. Recently, the roles of dentists have been changing in Japan. When providing dental services to older patients over the age of 65, dentists and other dental professions focus on maintaining oral functions, such as saliva secretion, bite force, tongue movement, and masticatory/swallowing functions. However, oral function-related services for children are different. In addition to providing essential dental services, dental practitioners also provide special treatment, such as oral muscle training, myofunctional therapy, health guidance, and space retainers to the child patients with developmental insufficiency in oral functions. Dentistry in Japan has undergone numerous changes over the years and has continued to offer high-quality dental health services. Thus, information gained from the Japanese experience may be helpful to dental professions in other developed countries for planning oral health measures.

HIV/AIDs pandemic poses a significant obstacle to the attainment of decent work and sustainable development. Its effects are concentrated among the most productive age groups imposing huge costs on enterprises through falling productivity, increased labour costs and the loss of skills and experience. Despite ILO recognizing adoption of HIV/AIDs workplace policy as the initial practical step towards addressing HIV/AIDs pandemic and its effect at the work place, many companies are yet to adopt the HIV/AIDs workplace policy as a guiding document in recognizing and addressing HIV/AIDs as a workplace issue. Therefore, the broad objective of the study was to evaluate the adoption of HIV/AIDs workplace policy among factories in Machakos County, Kenya. The study adopted a cross-sectional study design incorporating use of pre-tested questionnaires, and observation checklist for collecting data. A stratified sampling technique was used to sample a total of 386 respondents while purposive sampling was used to select 22 key informants who participated in the study. Descriptive statistics and Chi-square test were used to analyze quantitative data with the aid of Statistical Package for Social Sciences. Findings of the study indicated that only 39% of the factories had adopted HIV/AIDs workplace policy. On policy awareness, 70% of the respondents were aware of the policy. Out of these, 53% of the respondents had a moderate policy content awareness level and above. In regard to work-related factors, stigmatization (p=0.001), staff involvement (p=0.021), employer commitment (p=0.012), workers union activism (P=0.002) and government support (0.037) influenced adoption of the HIV/AIDs workplace policy in the factories. The main challenges facing adoption of the policy were poor enforcement of policies, lack of employer commitment, government support and employee involvement. In conclusion, there is low level of HIV/AIDs adoption in the factories due to poor enforcement of policies, low awareness of employees on the ILO recommendation in regard to HIV/AIDs policy and lack of sufficient stakeholder support and commitment in developing, implementing and sustaining gains of the policy at the workplace. The study recommends enforcement of adoption of HIV/AIDs workplace policies by the factory management. The study identifies need for close supervision by government agencies, provision of regular sensitization/awareness seminars, trainings and sharing of relevant information on the policy and adequate staff involvement in adoption and implementation of the policy. Purpose : The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between burnout, nursing work environment, patient-centered communication, and person-centered care nursing among intensive care unit (ICU) nurses and to identify factors related to person-centered care nursing. Methods : This is a descriptive study involving 156 ICU nurses. A structured questionnaire was used to assess burnout, nursing work environment, patient-centered communication, and person-centered critical care nursing performance. Data were collected from February to March 2020, and descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis were conducted using SPSS/WIN 25.0 program. Results : The mean scores for person-centered care nursing, burnout, nursing work environment, and patient-centered communication of ICU nurses were 3.52±0.42, 3.00±0.76, 2.62±0.34, 4.06±0.64, respectively. Person-centered nursing showed a statistically significant negative correlation with burnout (r=-.20, p=.013) and a statistically significant positive correlation with patient-centered communication (r=.49, p<.001). In addition, patient-centered communication (β=.47, p<.001) was significantly correlated with person-centered nursing. Conclusion: The results of this study showed that the factors affecting the person-centered care nursing of ICU nurses were patient-centered communication. Therefore, it is necessary to develop and apply patient-centered communication programs for improving the person-centered nursing performance of ICU nurses. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This Paper aims to find the problems faced by women employees in the IT sector to balance the work place and home in Chennai City. A survey was made among 192 women employees working in IT sector in Chennai. The problems faced by women employees in the work place namely working time, assignment, conferences, training and communication. At the same time problems faced by women employees in the personal life were non supportive of family members, Not having time to attend the family functions, take care of kids, maintain relationship with the relatives and additional work at home. This paper aims to identify and analyze the factors affecting the work life balance in the work place and in the home of women employees in the IT sector in Chennai and the challenges women employees face and the strategies used to achieve work life balance. The findings and suggestions in the present study are found by applying different statistical tools to analyze the primary data collected from the 192 women employees in the IT sector at Chennai city like't' test, 'F' test, Multiple regression analysis, rotated component matrix, Factor Analysis by Principal Component Method and One way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) by adopting the SPSS package. It is well known fact that electricity is essential to everyday life, both home and on the job. Perhaps it has become such a familiar part of daily life, most people don’t give much thought to it or how much our work depends on a reliable source of electricity. More importantly, people tend to overlook the hazards that electricity poses and fail to treat it with the respect it deserves. A prospective study on profile of electric injuries cases was conducted at RNT Medical college Udaipur, Rajasthan from July 2019 to November 2020 to know about the incidence and pattern of electric injuries cases, also to study the manner of events, seasonal variation, population at high risk to be victims of electric injury and to provide recommendation for developing useful safety programs to decrease the incidence. Out of the total 100 cases, 86 were male and 14 were female. 83 cases were of 11 year to 50 year age group. 68 cases occurred at work place, out of which 62 were male and 6 were female and 32 cases occurred at home.40 cases occurred in rainy season and 39 cases occurred in winter season and 21 cases occurred in summer. This study emphasizes on better implementation of electrical injuries control program in communities and increase the awareness of people and also on use of safety equipments and protective measures. The statistical number of sexual harassment and violence cases in Malaysia are seen to be increase from year to year. It not only happens in public places; it can even happen in the workplace. Sexual harassment among employees should not be underestimated because it can affect productivity, motivation, quality and safety in working environment. Thus, this study aims to; a) identify employee's perceptions of sexual harassment sensitivity and its relationship to deviant behavior. b) examine differences in employee perceptions according to gender and race for sensitivity towards sexual harassment. This is a quantitative survey study using simple random sampling involving 294 respondents. The questionnaires used were sexual harassment adaptation questionnaire from Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development 2019 and Junger Delinquent Scale 1997. Descriptive and inferential statistical data was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 23. The study found that women are more sensitive than men to any forms of sexual harassment. In addition, the findings show that the higher level of deviant behavior in the individual, the lower level of sensitivity towards sexual harassment. From the aspect of race, there are differences in perceptions of sexual harassment according to race that may be influenced by lifestyle, culture and religion. Indeed, sexual harassment can be curbed with self -awareness to prevent incidents from happening to oneself. The organization also plays a role in creating protective working environment to prevent this behavior from occurring in the workplace by emphasizing professional work ethic and creating channels to preserve the well -being of the workplace environment and employee productivity. Abstract Background Physically inactive and sedentary lifestyles are negatively related to both mental health and cognition. For office-workers, who spend two-thirds of their workday sitting, it is important to improve these lifestyles. The aim of this study is to assess the effectiveness of multi-component interventions, incorporating individual, environmental and organizational changes, to increase physical activity or reduce sedentary behavior among office-workers in order to improve mental health and cognition. Methods a 3-arm, clustered randomized controlled trial (RCT) with waiting list control group amongst adult office-workers of two large Swedish companies. Cluster teams will be randomized into 6-month interventions or to a passive waiting list control group which will receive the allocated intervention with a 6-month delay. Two multicomponent interventions will be studied of which one focuses on improving physical activity and the other on reducing sedentary behavior. Both interventions include 5 sessions of motivational counselling. In the physical activity intervention persons also get access to a gym and team leaders will organize lunch walks and encourage to exercise. In the sedentary behavior intervention standing- and walking meetings will be implemented and team leaders will encourage to reduce sitting. The recruitment target is 110 office-workers per arm (330 in total). Measurements will be repeated every 6 months for a total intended duration of 24 months. Proximal main outcomes are physical activity measured with accelerometers and sedentary behavior with inclinometers. Distal outcomes are self-reported mental health and a cognition test battery. Additional outcomes will include cardiovascular fitness, body composition, sleep, self-reported physical activity and sedentary behavior, other health habits, physical health, and working mechanisms from blood samples and questionnaires. Discussion This cluster RCT will contribute to the currently available evidence by comparing the effectiveness of multi-component interventions targeting physical activity or sedentary behavior with the end goal of improving mental health and cognition. This study is strong in its cluster randomized design, numerous objective outcome measures and long-term follow-up. The exact content of the interventions has been defined by combining theory with results from a larger research project as well as having a continuous dialogue with the involved companies. This article examines Contrastive Analysis of Refusal in Indonesian language and Japanese language. Up to now, there have been no contrastive researchs which compare refusal speech acts within Indonesian language and Japanese language, focused on working situations. This article reports on a study to investigate differences and similarities in the politeness strategies of refusals between Japanese language (JS) and Indonesian language (IS). This study employed politeness theory of Brown and Levinson (1987). Therefore the participants of this research were Indonesian and Japanese who currently work in company, school, etc. This research used descriptive method and collecting data using DCT (Discourse Completion Test) in Indonesian and Japanese. Therefore, the research subjects were those who already worked with the age-range from 22 to 50 years. 40 native speakers of Indonesian (IS) and 40 native speakers of Japanese (JS) participated in this study. All participants were asked to fill out a Discourse Completion Test (DCT) which written in the form role-play questionaire, consisting of 3 situations. DCT situations were categorized based on power and familiarity/social distance between speaker and hearer. Results are as follows: (1) JS and IS using apology, reason, fuka, and requeirment in refusal act. (2) IS explain reason clearly in refusal act. Other hand JS using aimai reason. (3) JS used expressions of apology appropriately according to their power (hierarchical position), while IS made appropriate use of these expressions according to relative social distance. (4) IS tend to using requeirement in each refusal act.

Background & Objectives: The study was undertaken to estimate the prevalence of body and blood fluid exposure incidents such as needle stick injuries, direct contact, splashes, and cuts among health care personnel (HCP) in operation theaters (OTs). The study objective was to investigate perception of safety culture and potential challenges faced by HCP in Pakistani context. Methods: An analytical cross-sectional survey was conducted in four tertiary care hospitals of Rawalpindi and Islamabad that were Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital (ANTH), Fauji Foundation Hospital (FFH), Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) and Holy Family Hospital (HFH) during March, 2019 to June, 2019. The data of the current study was collected from surgical staff in OTs at four tertiary care teaching hospitals including nurses, house officers, post graduate trainees, registrars, consultants, and technicians in the twin cities i.e., Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Results: In our findings (N=367) there was a high prevalence of exposure incidents in past six months, 45% had had got a needle injury, 36% have got a splash, 28.8% had direct contact and 35.6% had a cut once respectively in past six months, the occurrence of exposure incidents twice, thrice and more is also enormous. Conclusion: The study reflected a dire need of trainings at hospitals so that very strategically the importance of safety being a priority and value of HCP is inculcated on daily basis. Work environments can affect job satisfaction and psychological well-being. Using the job demand-control model as a foundation, this study aimed to explore the relationships between physical and psychosocial work environments and psychological well-being and job satisfaction in the workplace. A multistage sampling method was used with the 2012 China Labor-force Dynamics Survey among 4442 employees. Our outcome measures included psychological well-being and job satisfaction. The final model showed migrants (odds ratio [OR] = 1.34, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.13-1.60) and nonmanagerial employees (OR = 1.49, 95% CI = 1.25-1.78) who worked in general enterprises (OR= 1.61, 95% CI = 1.34-1.92) or suffered longer weekly work hours (OR = 1.42, 95% CI = 1.24-1.63) had worse psychological well-being or lower job satisfaction. Following the job demand-control model, higher job demands and lower job autonomy were significantly and positively associated with worse psychological well-being and lower job satisfaction. This study highlights that improved work environments can protect employees' well-being. Policymakers must provide better work environments. They must consider its physical environment (stable work contract and short work hours) and psychosocial environment (low job demands and high job autonomy) aspects, particularly for migrants and nonmanagerial employees. Objectives: To explore obstetricians' and gynaecologists' experiences of work-related traumatic events, to measure the prevalence and predictors of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), any impacts on personal and professional lives, and any support needs.Design: Mixed methods: cross-sectional survey and in-depth interviews.Sample and Setting: Fellows, members and trainees of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG).Methods: A survey was sent to 6300 fellows, members and trainees of RCOG. 1095 people responded. Then 43 in-depth interviews with trauma-exposed participants were completed and analysed by template analysis.Main Outcome Measures: Exposure to traumatic work-related events and PTSD, personal and professional impacts, and whether there was any need for support. Interviews explored the impact of trauma, what helped or hindered psychological recovery, and any assistance wanted.Results: Two-thirds reported exposure to traumatic work-related events. Of these, 18% of both consultants and trainees reported clinically significant PTSD symptoms. Staff of black or minority ethnicity were at increased risk of PTSD. Clinically significant PTSD symptoms were associated with lower job satisfaction, emotional exhaustion and depersonalisation. Organisational impacts included sick leave, and 'seriously considering leaving the profession'. 91% wanted a system of care. The culture in obstetrics and gynaecology was identified as a barrier to trauma support. A strategy to manage the impact of work-place trauma is proposed.Conclusions: Exposure to work-related trauma is a feature of the experience of obstetricians and gynaecologists. Some will suffer PTSD with high personal, professional and organisational impacts. Background: Taking into account the differences in job requirements and conditions, it is expected that workers in some occupations are more susceptible to pain than others. Objective: To examine the prevalence of chronic pain among workers of several petrochemical and petroleum refinery plants. We also examined the predictive role of psycho-familial variables (depression, work-family conflict and job stress) in causing chronic pain when controlling for demographic and occupational factors. Methods: This cross-sectional study was carried out among 674 workers. Those with chronic pain were identified by affirmative answers to screening questions based on the ICD-11 criteria. Results: There were 162 (24.0%; 95% CI 20.8% to 27.3%) workers meeting the ICD-11 criteria for chronic pain. Headache was the most frequently reported pain (29.9%). We found a significantly (p=0.03) higher prevalence of pain among the middle age than in other age groups. Chronic pain more frequently affected divorced/widowed workers (p<0.001), and those with more work experience (p=0.04). Workers with chronic pain reported significantly higher levels of depression (p<0.001), job stress (p=0.007), and work-family conflict (p<0.001). After controlling for demographic and occupational factors, depression (p<0.001) and work-family conflict (p=0.003) were found to be independent predictors of chronic pain among studied workers. Conclusion: Workers who experience higher levels of depression, work-family conflict and job stress might be more prone to chronic pain. The majority of these factors are modifiable, and the problem may thus be solved by establishing appropriate screening programs, and availability of proper services and education. This ethnographic study explores the content and meaning of midwives' care of women in a hospital-based labour ward in Sweden prior to the introduction of a theoretical midwifery model of care. Methods: Data were gathered through participant observation, analysed through interpretation grounded in reflexivity discussions and are presented in the form of ethnographic descriptions. Results: The midwives' care was provided in a field of tension in which they had to balance contrasting models of care, described in the themes: The birthing rooms and the office—Different rooms of care, Women giving birth or being delivered—Midwives' expectations and relationships with women, Old and new caring roles of the midwife—Women giving birth in a "new age", Being and doing—Different approaches to caring, and Holistic and reductionist care—Guided by contrasting models and guidelines. The midwives' freedom to act as autonomous professionals was hindered by medical and institutional models of care and this led to uncertainty regarding their roles as midwives. Objective: The objectives of the survey were to assess the frequency, types and source of the workplace harassment experienced by health professionals and to assess the awareness about reporting procedure of the incidence by the health professionals of Khyber Teaching hospital Peshawar. Study Design: A descriptive survey was conducted in the Khyber teaching hospital of Khyber Pahthunkawa from 1st January to 15th February 2016. Materials & Methods: A self-administered structured questionnaire was implemented having close-ended questions. Sample size was 256, simple random sampling technique was used those health professional present on the day of the survey were included in the survey population informed written consent was taken. Data was analyzed using M.S excel. Results: Workplace harassment among health professionals in KTH was 47(27.6%). 38(80.8%) harassed were doctors. All health professionals were verbally harassed off the total 4 male doctors were also physically harassed. The main source of harassment was the patient attendants. 95(56%) of the respondents were aware about reporting procedure of the incident in the institute. Conclusion: Frequency of harassment among doctors was high, although awareness about reporting procedure was there but reporting was done on small scale.

In addition to mental health problems, they can further develop serious problems with physical health, such as cardiovascular diseases or musculoskeletal problems.Over half of the respondents identified their work place as very busy. Working midwives define the factors relevant to the workplace-stress, impaired communication, conflict, high responsibility, many and heterogeneous duties.A major risk factor in exercising the obstetric profession for 78.5% is stress, and the causes of stress in the workplace are varied, dependent on the components of the environment and the subjects. These are all working situations, for which the high professional requirements are characteristic in quantitative terms (too much work for 67.7%), workers have limited decision-making capacity (possibility to decide how and what to do 43.1%) and poor professional support from colleagues and executives for 44.6%. ConclusionIt is necessary to care for the workplace, for relationships, for shared responsibility, by applying different techniques to improve the workplace, to improve communication skills and to master mediation techniques, to Overcoming conflicts and resolving them. Do men and women legislators have equal opportunities to carry out their parliamentary duties? An important first step to uncover the parliament's inner life is to evaluate members of parliament's (MPs) experiences of their work environment. In this article, we explore the Swedish parliament where women have held over 40% of the seats for two decades to test the persistence of gendered norms and practices. Using a new survey dataset of 279 Swedish MPs (82% response rate), we find that female MPs experience greater pressure, higher levels of anxiety, and are subject to more negative treatment than male MPs. Yet, while men and women report participating in debates and influencing their political party's agenda to the same degree, we conclude that the Parliament's working environment remains gendered in that women pay a higher personal cost for their political engagement. Home workers at the shoe industry in Semarang Regency mostly suffer from callus (84.8%), stiff shoulder (75.8%), and headache (72.2%). This study aims to analyze the physical environment of the house as a workplace with a work-related complaint on the shoe industry workers in Semarang regency. It was an observational research with cross sectional approach. The population were all the workers in the shoe industry, Semarang Regency. The Sample for the research 66 workers taken by proportional random sampling method. Data analysis used distribution frequency, Chi-Square test and logistic regression. The results showed that there were several physical environment variables of the house that have relation with the complaints due to work with the value of p ≤ 0.05 such as light intensity, house ventilation, and house temperature. Multivariate analysis showed work-related complaints were influenced by variables of lighting, temperature and ventilation jointly by 93.5% and the rest influenced by other factors. The conclusion of this study was the importance of maintaining the quality of the physical environment of the house as a workplace because it can affect the complaints due to work. Shoe industry home workers should pay attention to the intensity of light, ventilation, and the temperature of the house as a place of work. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

BACKGROUND: One reaction to injustice or humiliation is embitterment, a disabling emotion, which can hinder the pursuit of functional solutions for problems in life. Unemployment can be experienced differently, depending on the subjective appraisal of the cause, how a person came to being laid off, the consequences, and especially feelings of injustice. OBJECTIVE: The goal of this study is to explore the frequency and correlates of embitterment in unemployed persons in contrast to general psychological distress. METHODS: Self rating on the Posttraumatic Embitterment Scale (PTED scale), the General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28) and a survey on the unemployment status of 102 randomly selected persons who were waiting in a German unemployment agency office. RESULTS: A score of ≥6 on the General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28) was found in 40.2% of the sample, indicating severe psychological distress. Unemployment was seen as a severe, or very severe burden by 56% of participants, and judged as unjust by 40% of participants. An elevated score above 2 on the Posttraumatic Embitterment Scale was found in 25.5% participants. Appraisal and duration of unemployment, feelings of injustice, and age were related to embitterment, but not psychological distress. CONCLUSIONS: Embitterment is a destructive emotion in reaction to unemployment, which can impair functional coping. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

At present, more and more researches deals with the characteristic features of generation Y and generation Z. As it is about the present and future generations, corporate success and the competitive operation are determined by the behav our of these generations in the long-run. Researches justifies that there are significant differences between the two generations despite the similarities. These differences appear rather emphasized in the corporate environment when several questions arise at workplaces in the process of cooperation – especially in the field of knowledge-sharing and knowledge transfer-regarding the characteristics of the two generations. Last year, the authors carried out a quantitative research by questionnaires in order to reveal what the managing of these two generations mean for the managers and also what difficulties occur when the two generations cooperate with each other and with elder generations as well. The main question of the research was how to approach the new generations from the view of HR? Although the research cannot be considered representative (410 respondents participated in the survey), it can give a picture about the examined issues. The hypothesis phrased by the authors was justified according to which of the HR activities have to adapt to the requirements of the new generations upon their appearance.

Ergonomics is the study of the interaction between people and machines and the factors that affect the interaction. Its purpose is to improve the performance of systems by improving human machine interaction. This can be done by 'designing-in' a better interface or by 'designing-out' factors in the work environment, in the task or in the organization of work that degrade human--machine performance. Systems can be improved by • Designing the user-interface to make it more compatible with the task and the user. This makes it easier to use and more resistant to errors that people are known to make. • Changing the work environment to make it safer and more appropriate for the task. • Changing the task to make it more compatible with user characteristics. • Changing the way work is organized to accommodate people's psychological and social needs. Objectives: This study is analyzing the unexpected reversed or lacking association between high adjustment latitude and sickness presence by examining whether it is due to confounding. Material and Methods: Questionnaires were sent in 2004 and 2005 to a cohort of individuals aged 25–50 years, selected from the Statistics Sweden’s register of the Swedish population. Information from 2397 individuals who answered both questionnaires was analyzed by the use of logistic regression analysis. Results: The odds ratio for sickness presence among the individuals with a low adjustment latitude compared to those with high adjustment latitude was 1.7 (range: 1.4–2.2). This increased likelihood was almost entirely unaffected in the analysis of potential confounders. Conclusions: If the reversed association between adjustment latitude and sickness presence does not reflect confounding, it may be due to reporting bias, which may cause problems in research on sickness presence. We argue that more detailed studies are needed to explore the different sources of possible reporting problems.

Introduction: People in various professions may face discrimination. In the nursing field, discrimination among nurses in the workplace, regardless of race, gender or religion have not been studied; a problem that leads to a reduction in the quality of nursing care and nurse turnover. Discovery of the concerns of nurses about inter-professional collaboration is the purpose of this study. Methods: The present study is conducted by using a qualitative content analysis. The data collection process included 22 unstructured and in-depth interviews with nurses between April 2012 and February 2013 in the medical teaching centers of Iran. A purposive sampling method was used. All interviews were recorded, typed, and analyzed simultaneously. Results: The category obtained from explaining nurses' experiences of inter-professional collaboration was "discrimination" that included two subcategories, namely (1) lack of perspective towards equality in authorities, and (2) professional respect and value deficit.Conclusion: Nurses' experiences are indicating their perception of discrimination that influences the collaboration between nurses, which should be taken into account by managers. The findings of the present study help to managers about decision making on how to deal with staff and can be helpful in preventing nurse turnover and providing better services by nurses.

Background. Healthcare workers (HCWs) undergo occupational tuberculosis screening at regular intervals. However, the risk of contracting tuberculosis at the workplace in a setting with a low background tuberculosis incidence is unclear. We aimed to evaluate the risk of tuberculin skin test (TST) conversion and the risk of occupational tuberculosis infection among HCWs in such a setting. Methods. We conducted a retrospective cohort study of employees of a large tertiary medical center in the US Midwest who had undergone TST screening during the study period 1 January 1998 to 31 May 2014. Results. Among 40 142 HCWs who received a TST, only 123 converted over 16.4 years. Only 9 (7%) of the converters had a suspected tuberculosis exposure at the workplace and none developed active tuberculosis. The majority of TST converters (66%) had a negative QuantiFERON-TB test at the time of the conversion. Conclusions. In one of the largest cohorts of HCWs in a low-tuberculosis-incidence setting, we demonstrated an extremely low risk of occupational tuberculosis exposure among TST converters and no resulting active tuberculosis cases. In this setting, the approach of testing HCWs at baseline and after tuberculosis exposure, rather than at regular intervals, should be considered. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Epidemiologic studies have reported that exposure to arsenic (As) is associated with higher risk of cardiovascular disease ( i.e. , coronary heart disease and peripheral arterial heart disease) and mortality. This cross-sectional study aimed to compare serum lipid, lipoprotein, and apolipoprotein profiles in workers exposed to As. The subjects of this study included 57 workers exposed to As and 57 controls. Demographic characteristics and occupational information were collected through questionnaires. Exposure to As was assessed in indoor air of a workplace and determined using the creatinine values in the urine. Blood samples were collected using immunochemistry and nephelometry to measure the levels of total cholesterol (CHOL), triglycerides (TRIG), high-density lipoprotein (HDL), low-density lipoprotein (LDL), lipoprotein(a) (Lp(a)), apolipoprotein-A1 (Apo-A1), and apolipoprotein-B (Apo-B). No significant difference in the demographic data was detected between the two groups. Urinary As concentration was significantly (p < 0.001) higher in exposed subjects than in the controls (13.4 ± 6.1 and 4.4 ± 6.1 μg/gCreat, respectively). No statistically significant differences were observed in CHOL, TRIG, HDL, and LDL concentrations between the two groups. Lp(a), Apo-B, and Apo-B/Apo-A1 ratio values were significantly higher and the Apo-A1 level was significantly lower in the exposed group than in the control subjects. Regression analysis highlighted a significant (p < 0.001) association between urinary As and Lp(a), Apo-A1, and Apo-B concentration, and Apo-B/Apo-A1 ratio. This study revealed the influence of As on apolipoproteins, suggesting a potential risk of cardiovascular diseases in subjects exposed to low levels of As. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The purpose of the present research study is to measure the impact of emotional intelligence at workplace. Emotional intelligence is the important part of human recourse management. It incorporates tactics that are useful at the workplace. It is used in resolving conflicts, measuring the performance of the employees in an organisation. Therefore, it is important to study about the impact of emotional intelligence at workplaces. The study surveyed 100 respondents' opinions to determine effect of emotional intelligence on employee's behaviour at workplace.
