Aims: To identify subgroups of people with internet gaming disorder (IGD) based on addiction‐related resting‐state functional connectivity and how these subgroups show different clinical correlates and responses to treatment. Design: Secondary analysis of two functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data sets. Setting: Zhejiang province and Beijing, China. Participants: One hundred and sixty‐nine IGD and 147 control subjects. Measurements k‐Means algorithmic and support‐vector machine‐learning approaches were used to identify subgroups of IGD subjects. These groups were examined with respect to assessments of craving, behavioral activation and inhibition, emotional regulation, cue–reactivity and guessing‐related measures. Findings Two groups of subjects with IGD were identified and defined by distinct patterns of connectivity in brain networks previously implicated in addictions: subgroup 1 ('craving‐related subgroup') and subgroup 2 ('mixed psychological subgroup'). Clustering IGD on this basis enabled the development of diagnostic classifiers with high sensitivity and specificity for IGD subgroups in 10‐fold validation (n = 218) and out‐of‐sample replication (n = 98) data sets. Subgroup 1 is characterized by high craving scores, cue–reactivity during fMRI and responsiveness to a craving behavioral intervention therapy. Subgroup 2 is characterized by high craving, behavioral inhibition and activations scores, non‐adaptive emotion‐regulation strategies and guessing‐task fMRI measures. Subgroups 1 and 2 showed largely opposite functional–connectivity patterns in overlapping networks. Conclusions: There appear to be two subgroups of people with internet gaming disorder, each associated with differing patterns of brain functional connectivity and distinct clinical symptom profiles and gender compositions. Purpose: To investigate the characteristics of cerebral perfusion and hemodynamics of bypass grafting in the treatment of moyamoya disease (MMD) using the iFlow color-coded flow map in comparison with magnetic resonance imaging–perfusion-weighted imaging (MRI–PWI) and computational fluid dynamic (CFD) analysis. Materials and Methods: Patients with MMD treated with bypass grafting who had undergone MRI PWI and digital subtraction angiography for iFlow color-coded map was retrospectively enrolled and CFD was performed for calculating the hemodynamic stresses around the bypass grafting. Results: Forty-five patients with unilateral MMD treated with bypass surgery were enrolled. The bypass surgery was successful in all patients, with no severe neurological complications during the periprocedural period. Followed up for 4–12 months (median 5.5), the neurological function was good in all patients. The cerebral blood flow (CBF), cerebral blood volume (CBV), mean transit time (MTT), and time to peak (TTP) were significantly (p < 0.05) improved in the middle cerebral artery distribution area on the surgical side before and after vascular bypass, and the difference of TTP (s) measured from the proximal bifurcation of common carotid artery to the confluence of sinus was also significant (p < 0.05). A significant (p < 0.05) positive correlation existed in the perfusion parameters between the iFlow blood perfusion and the MRI–PWI perfusion, with r -value for TTP of 0.765 (p < 0.01). The iFlow color-coded blood flow map showed warm color changes on the diseased side, similar to those on the contralateral side. In CFD analysis, the hemodynamic stresses were all improved, in and around the bypass grafting and distal vessels, which were beneficial to blood flow entering distal arterial branches. Conclusion: The iFlow color-coded flow map can be used to analyze cerebral perfusion after bypass grafting for MMD, similar to MRI–PWI, and CFD can be used to analyze the hemodynamics after bypass grafting, revealing improved hemodynamics to promote blood flow entering distal arteries. Purpose: To investigate the effect and safety of flow diverters in the management of small (<10 mm in diameter) unruptured intracranial aneurysms. Materials and Methods: One hundred and ten patients with 145 small intracranial aneurysms treated with flow diverters were retrospectively enrolled. The clinical, endovascular, and follow-up data were analyzed. Results: One hundred twenty-one flow diverters were deployed for the treatment of 145 small intracranial aneurysms in 110 patients, and the stenting success rate was 99.1%. In 133 (91.7%) aneurysms, only flow-diverting devices were deployed, and in the rest 12 (8.3%) of aneurysms, coils were used to loosely pack the aneurysm after deployment of a flow-diverting device. Five patients (4.5%) experienced ischemic complications, but no hemorrhagic complications were occurred. All patients had clinical follow-up 6–18 (median 12) after the procedure, with the modified Rankin scale score (mRS) 0 in 101 patients, 1 in four patients, 2 in three patients, 4 in one patient, and 5 in one patient. Digital subtraction angiography was performed at follow-up in 90 (81.8%) patients with 118 (81.4%) aneurysms 6–18 months (median 12) after the procedure, with the Raymond grade I in 90 (76.2%) aneurysms and Raymond grade III in 28 (23.7%). Eighteen patients with 22 partially occluded aneurysms at the first angiographic follow-up experienced the second digital subtraction angiography 12–36 months (median 26) after the procedure, and 21 (95.5%) aneurysms were completely occluded. Two patients had asymptomatic in-stent stenosis. Six novel mixed-ligand complexes, [Cd(MCPA)2(bbhb)]n (1), [Cd(MCPA)2(bib)2]n (2), [Co2(MCPA)4(pbix)2] (3), [Zn(MCPA)2(pbix)2]n (4), [Cd(MCPA)2(obix)2]n (5), and [Co(MCPA)2(obix)2]n (6), have been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions and structurally characterized, where MCPAH = 2-methyl-4-chlorophenoxyacetic acid, bbhb = 1,1′-(1,4-butanediyl)bis-1H-benzimidazole, bib = 1,4-bis(imidazol-1-yl)-butane, pbix = 1,4-bis(imidazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene and obix = 1,2-bis(imidazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene. X-ray diffraction analyses reveal that the N-donor ligands bridge the metal centers into different 1 D chains in complexes 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6, while three is a dinuclear molecule containing 26-membered ring. Background: Craving‐related brain responses have been associated with the emergence and maintenance of addictions. However, little is known about brain network organizations underlying cravings in internet gaming disorder (IGD). Methods: Sixty‐six IGD subjects and 61 matched individuals with recreational game use (RGU) were scanned while performing a cue‐craving task. A recently developed whole‐brain analysis approach, connectome‐based predictive modelling (CPM) with leave‐one‐out cross‐validation was conducted to identify networks that predicted craving responses in IGD. Then, the craving network was tested in different brain states (cue‐craving under deprivation) to investigate replicability. Results: CPM identified an IGD craving network, as indicated by a significant correspondence between predicted and actual craving values (r = 0.49, p < 0.001), characterized by within‐network default mode (DMN) connectivity and connectivity between canonical networks implicated in executive/cognitive control (frontoparietal, medial frontal, DMN) and reward responsiveness (subcortical, motor/sensory). Network strength in the cue‐craving task during gaming deprivation also predicted IGD craving scores (r = 0.43, p = 0.017), indicating network replication across brain states. Conclusions: The CPM results demonstrate that individual differences in cognitive, attention, and control network function can predict craving intensities in IGD subjects. Cerebral arteries are usually tortuous, and in the treatment of cerebrovascular diseases with stenting, a stent deployed may be collapsed at one end, leading to reduced blood flow and subsequent stent occlusion. Immediate rescuing measures should be implemented to prevent severe ischemic events. In this case report, we present a case with V4 segment occlusion of the right vertebral artery treated with endovascular stent angioplasty. An Enterprise stent deployed at the occlusion segment was collapsed at the proximal end after withdrawal of the delivery system. Immediate rescuing measures were taken by navigating a micro-guidewire through the lateral stent mesh at the proximal end into the stent lumen followed by advancing a second micro-guidewire right through the reopened proximal stent end into the stent lumen for deployment of a supporting balloon-expandable Apollo stent to prevent stent collapse. Internet gaming disorder (IGD), a worldwide mental health issue, has been widely studied using neuroimaging techniques during the last decade. Although dysfunctions in resting‐state functional connectivity have been reported in IGD, mapping relationships from abnormal connectivity patterns to behavioral measures have not been fully investigated. Connectome‐based predictive modeling (CPM)—a recently developed machine‐learning approach—has been used to examine potential neural mechanisms in addictions and other psychiatric disorders. To identify the resting‐state connections associated with IGD, we modified the CPM approach by replacing its core learning algorithm with a support vector machine. Resting‐state functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data were acquired in 72 individuals with IGD and 41 healthy comparison participants. The modified CPM was conducted with respect to classification and regression. A comparison of whole‐brain and network‐based analyses showed that the default‐mode network (DMN) is the most informative network in predicting IGD both in classification (individual identification accuracy = 78.76%) and regression (correspondence between predicted and actual psychometric scale score: r = 0.44, P < 0.001). To facilitate the characterization of the aberrant resting‐state activity in the DMN, the identified networks have been mapped into a three‐subsystem division of the DMN. Results suggest that individual differences in DMN function at rest could advance our understanding of IGD and variability in disorder etiology and intervention outcomes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: To investigate the effect of the A Direct Aspiration First-Pass Thrombectomy (ADAPT) vs. Solumbra technique in the treatment of acute intracranial atherosclerosis-related large vessel occlusion (LVO). Methods: Patients with acute atherosclerosis-related LVO who had undergone endovascular treatment were retrospectively enrolled into two groups: The Solumbra and ADAPT groups. The clinical data were analyzed. Results: Patients (104) were enrolled with 48 in the Solumbra and 56 in the ADAPT group. The mean time from femoral access to recanalization was significantly (P < 0.05) shorter in the ADAPT than in the Solumbra group. The recanalization time at the first line was significantly shorter in the ADAPT group than in the Solumbra group (17 ± 10.21 vs. 26 ± 15.55 min, P = 0.02). However, the rate of switching to the alternative was significantly higher in the ADAPT group than that in the Solumbra group (46.42 vs. 33.33%, P = 0.01). Eighty-two patients had eventual recanalization, resulting in a final recanalization rate of 78.85%. At 3-month clinical follow-up for all patients, the good prognosis rate reached 51.92% with good prognosis in 24 patients (50%) in the Solumbra and 30 (53.57%) in the ADAPT group. The rate of symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage was 18.75% (n = 9) in the Solumbra and 19.64% (n = 11) in the ADAPT group. The mortality rate was 21.15% (22/104). Among 80 (76.92%) patients who had angiographic follow-up (3–30 months), five (6.25%) patients experienced in-stent stenosis, and two (2.5%) experienced asymptomatic stent occlusion. Conclusion: In patients with acute intracranial atherosclerosis-related LVO, clinical outcomes treated using the ADAPT technique are comparable with those using the Solumbra technique, and more patients need additional remedial measures if treated with the ADAPT technique. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of different degree of substitution on structural characteristics and crystalline properties of resistant starch esterfied by L‐malic acid. With the deepening of the esterification reaction, malate starches particles became larger, particle surface cracks and grooves increased which led to a decline in whiteness of malate starches. With the increase in the degree of substitution (DS), the initial phase transition temperatures (To) and endothermic enthalpies (ΔH) of malate starch gradually decreased. The XRD results indicated that with the increase of DS, the diffraction peak at 15.1° disappeared in the spectrum. When the DS of malate starches reached 0.116, the content of resistant starch (RS) accounted for the majority of the total starch. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
