A set of ionic quasi-block copolymers were investigated to determine the effects of their composition and structure on their performance in their application as solid-state battery electrolytes. Diffusion and electrochemical tests have shown that these new quasi-block electrolytes have comparable performance to traditional block copolymers reaching ionic conductivities of 3.8 × 10−4 S cm−1 and lithium-ion diffusion of 4.6 × 10−12 m2 s−1 at 80 °C. It was illustrated that the mechanical properties of each quasi-block electrolyte are highly dependent on the order of monomer addition in polymer synthesis while the phase morphology hints at each of the quasi-blocks' unique compositional make up. This article examines an idiosyncratic, lavishly illustrated mid-Tudor English printed book, John Heywood's The Spider and the Flie (1556), a book condemned both in the sixteenth century and since as incomprehensible and virtually unreadable. The article argues, rather, that the book's gestation period was long and complex, but that, once this is understood, the book becomes readily comprehensible, in both its structure and implications. It looks briefly at evidence for ownership of the book, and then moves to discuss what it, along with Heywood's collected volumes of proverbs and epigrams, can contribute to a discussion of early-modern popular literature, the subject of the UNA Europa funded network, Popular Respublica Litteraria, to which this article is a contribution. This essay reconsiders what made late-medieval British drama distinct from that of other periods and what it shared with those dramas. It argues for a form of afterlife for the medieval and early Tudor stage in the dramaturgy of postmodern performance. Responding to Hans-Thies Lehmann's claims for a />a^-dramatic theatre, it suggests that we should also think about a /?re-dramatic theatre, or rather a pre-theatrical drama, existing, not in the tragic theatre of ancient Greece, but in late medieval England and Scotland, and that the postdramatic and the pre-theatrical have much in common in their radical approaches to stagecraft. This study further validated the use of the technology acceptance model (TAM), as a helpful tool for understanding instructors' intentions to use web-enhanced instruction. The TAM literature suggests perceptions of the usefulness and ease of use of a technology determined intended usage. Results of the study found instructor perceptions of the usefulness and ease of use of web-enhanced instruction were related to intended usage. The TAM was also extended to include the instructor's computer background and organizational support. Computer background was related to the instructor's perceptions of the effectiveness of web-enhanced instruction. Management support was related to their perceptions of the ease of use, importance, and effectiveness of web-enhanced instruction. Results from the research also determined the factor that was most likely to predict the acceptance of web-enhanced instruction was its usefulness and effectiveness. (Contains 1 table. There is a need to find alternative solvents for electrospinning that are less hazardous and more environmentally safe than the Class II solvents currently used. We characterized poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) nanofibers (NFs) electrospun using a new, less toxic solvent system comprised the Class III solvents acetone:ethyl acetate (ACE:EtAc). Both solvent systems produced amorphous NFs. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) showed no change in PLGA composition after electrospinning. ACE:EtAc NFs showed a 53% burst release of paracetamol, followed by a gradual release not statistically different to release from DCM:DMF. ACE:EtAc can be used as a solvent to electrospin PLGA NFs however, with larger fiber diameter. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Maksymilian Del Mar's Artefacts of Legal Inquiry : A Literary Perspective This article explores the insights of Maksymilian Del Mar's monograph Artefacts of Legal Inquiry from the perspective of a scholar of early Tudor literature and drama. It traces the origins of much of the early interlude drama in the culture of argumentation and 'case putting' originating in the Inns of Court of early modern London, and suggests the broad overlap between the rhetorical foundations of Tudor common law and those of the interlude drama of John Heywood and his contemporaries, drawing out the ways in which both deploy comedic tropes and personae. Diffusive properties of branched polyethyleneimine (bPEI)-poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) complexed with linear DNA fragments are studied as a function of systematically decreasing bPEI length. The resulting PEGylated complexes have shown high stability against both salt and protein and hence are useful for in vivo gene delivery studies.
