Modern mankind, through the development of medicine and using its scientifically grounded innovations has learned to prolong human life. In Ukraine as in the whole world there is a tendency to increase in life expectancy. Since aging is a natural physiological process, a person from time immemorial has been preoccupied with the search for the so-called “Philosophy Stone” is a substance that prevents aging. This article analyzes data from scientific publications on modern aspects of the problems associated with aging of the female body. It has been proven that aging and anti-aging processes substantiate the individualization of modern approaches to the correction of pre- and perimenopause complications. The general strategy for maintaining of women’s health in peri- and postmenopause according to the International Menopause Society includes menopausal hormone therapy, taking into accounts the therapy goals and individual risk factors. Despite all the desire to give a modern definition of aging, it is currently not possible, therefore in this literature review an attempt is made to analyze the known strategies of premature aging to develop the potential for prolonging active life. In any case, the doctor needs to correlate the benefits and risks of menopausal hormone therapy, taking into account individual risk factors and select appropriate rehabilitation methods aimed at “improving the female face” of the classic image of old age. Since the role of estrogen deficiency in the formation of perimenopausal complications and especially premature aging, is not questioned, anti-aging strategies should be considered a pathogenetically justified method of treating vasomotor, psychosomatic symptoms and sleep disorders, as well as a method of preventing metabolic syndrome. It should be remembered that hormone therapy has a number of limitations and contraindications, which is an incentive for every doctor to contribute to prolongation of the active and healthy life of women 40+ and 50+ years old. Creation of a conceptual model for overcoming the complications of reproductive aging and especially cardiovascular events, osteoporosis, cerebrovascular pathology based on the identification of risk factors will allow to develop the protective anti-aging therapy not only to prolong a woman's life, but also to improve its quality

Purpose. Determination of the reserves of the main equipment in terms of the systemic role of hydroelectric power stations. Methodology. Complex poliobjecting approach to the analysis and determination of operating constituents of generation and basic energy equipment. Findings. The urgency and the basis of the system requirements for the efficiency of the power equipment of hydroelectric power stations, which allows ensuring the formation of the necessary functional level of the generation process is proposed. The features of the main components of the transformation technology and their interaction are considered. Reflects the influence of the components of the end-to-end path of the generation process. Characteristics of the conversion efficiency in the mobility conditions are obtained. The main possibilities and ways of organizing an effective energy exchange of a hydro generator are shown. The ways of increasing the operating efficiency of the existing equipment of hydroelectric power stations are proposed. Originality. The multi-subject requirements of the system approach is proposed for determining equipment reserves and increasing generation efficiency, which makes it possible to determine the dynamic generation components and performance criteria. Practical value. The system requirements for studying the end-to-end path of energy transformations and increasing the efficiency of generating of basic equipment of the hydroelectric power stations and its systemic role are determined.

Розглянуті і класифіковані основні складові ефективності витрат енергії в технологічних системах вироблення електричної енергії. Відображені впливи основних складових технічних й експлуатаційних чинників на рівень ефективності. Приведено обґрунтування і визначений напрям дослідження робочих чинників, що впливають на зміну електричних параметрів гідроагрегату. Запропоновані шляхи підвищення ефективності роботи діючого устаткування ГЕС. Приведені дані можуть бути використані при модернізації гідроенергетичних перетворювачів енергії.

Abstract A new method for studying lipid-protein interactions in vitro is developed. It enables the study of the transporting activity of a protein toward a lipid ligand, including the case of an unknown lipid type. The method can be considered as a variant of partition three-phase chromatography with two stationary (donor and acceptor) phases and one mobile phase. The protein under study is dissolved in an aqueous mobile phase and induces a specific delivery of a lipid to the acceptor lipid layer. The transported lipid is identified in Folch lipid extracts from the acceptor layer and aqueous phase. The secretory protein with M 45 kDa from the rat olfactory epithelium is shown to be a carrier of phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-triphosphate. Our approach opens up new possibilities in the study of lipid-protein interactions in vitro and has a number of advantages over the methods now used for these purposes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract We undertook a search for proteins interacting with protein p45 using the method of two-hybrid screening in order to determine the function of the Sec14p-like protein p45. A screening of the yeast library of rat lung cDNA allowed the identification of six proteins specifically activating the reporter genes of a two-hybrid system and 21 unlikely protein partners of protein p45. The most likely candidate for the role of a p45 partner is the surfactant protein C (Sftpc). These results and previous studies led us to the hypothesis that protein p45 fulfills its protective function by participating in the biogenesis of cell membranes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We present the production of 58m Co on a small, 13 MeV medical cyclotron utilizing a siphon style liquid target system. Different concentrated iron(III)-nitrate solutions of natural isotopic distribution were irradiated at varying initial pressures and subsequently separated by solid phase extraction chromatography. The radio cobalt ( 58 m/g Co and 56 Co) was successfully produced with saturation activities of (0.35 ± 0.03) MBq μA -1 for 58m Co with a separation recovery of (75 ± 2) % of cobalt after one separation step utilizing LN-resin., Competing Interests: Declaration of competing interest The authors declare that they have no known competing financial interests or personal relationships that could have appeared to influence the work reported in this paper., (Copyright © 2023 Elsevier Ltd. Introduction: 44 Sc is of great interest as a positron emission tomography (PET) radionuclide due to its suitable nuclear characteristics: E β + max  = 1.47 MeV, branching ratio 94.3% and convenient half-life of 3.97 h. Here, 44 Sc was produced via the widely used reaction 44 Ca (p,n) 44 Sc using natural calcium as a target., Methods: The irradiation was performed at TRIUMF using the 13 MeV cyclotron. The separation consisted of a combination of DGA branched resin and Dowex 50Wx8 (200-400 mesh). The distribution coefficients of Sc 3+ on Dowex 50Wx8 (NH 4 + form, 200-400 mesh) with ammonium α-hydroxyisobutyrate (pH = 4.8) medium were determined in this study., Results and Conclusion: The tested scheme allows both a reliable separation of 44 Sc from the target material as well as from the other competitive metals and a final fraction with high specific activity. Aim - to identify deviations in immune parameters in patients with reactive chlamydial spondyloarthritis, allowing more targeted correction of immune status and improve the quality of treatment of these patients. A comparative immunological examination of 14 patients with reactive spondyloarthritis of chlamydial etiology before and after specific treatment and practically healthy people was carried out. CIC, lymphocytotoxic and granulocytotoxic antibodies, including autoimmune, LIF including autoantigens (cartilage, bone, sinewy), neutrophilic leukocytes, lymphocytes, IL-1, IL-4, IL-6, TNF-α, CD-3, CD-4, CD-8, CD-25, Ig A, G, M. The immune status of patients before treatment was characterized by a perverse immune response, which was characterized by hyperactivation of the T-lymphocytic link of immunity, impaired suppressive link of the immune system, a tendency to autoimmune aggression, incomplete anti-infectious immunity, and chronic inflammatory process. Antichlamydial treatment with the eradication of the pathogen within 1 month led to a partial normalization of the immune response, normalization of the neutrophilic / lymphocytic ratio and the amount of granulocytotoxic and lymphocytotoxic antibodies. Desensitization of the organism to autoantigens (cartilage and synovial tissue) was observed. Comprehensive analysis of immunological parameters before and after treatment in patients with reactive spondyloarthritis of chlamydial etiology allows monitoring the effectiveness of the treatment and increases its effectiveness.

Scandium-44g (half-life 3.97h [1]) shows promise for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging of longer biological processes than that of the current gold standard, 18 F, due to its favorable decay parameters. One source of 44g Sc is the long-lived parent nuclide 44 Ti (half-life 60.0 a). A 44 Ti/ 44g Sc generator would have the ability to provide radionuclidically pure 44g Sc on a daily basis. The production of 44 Ti via the 45 Sc(p,2n) reaction requires high proton beam currents and long irradiation times. Recovery and purification of no-carrier added (nca) 44 Ti from scandium metal targets involves complex separation chemistry. In this study, separation systems based on solid phase extraction chromatography were investigated, including branched diglycolamide (BDGA) resin and hydroxamate based ZR resin. Actinium-225 and 213 Bi have been used successfully in targeted alpha therapy (TAT) in preclinical and clinical research. This paper is a continuation of research activities aiming to expand the availability of 225 Ac. The high-energy proton spallation reaction on natural thorium metal targets has been utilized to produce millicurie quantities of 225 Ac. The results of sixteen irradiation experiments of thorium metal at beam energies between 78 and 192MeV are summarized in this work. Irradiations have been conducted at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) and Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), while target dissolution and processing was carried out at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). Excitation functions for actinium and thorium isotopes, as well as for some of the fission products, are presented. The cross sections for production of 225 Ac range from 3.6 to 16.7mb in the incident proton energy range of 78-192MeV. Based on these data, production of curie quantities of 225 Ac is possible by irradiating a 5.0gcm -2 232 Th target for 10 days in either BNL or LANL proton irradiation facilities., (Copyright © 2016 Elsevier Ltd. Actinium-225 (t1/2=9.92d) is an α-emitting radionuclide with nuclear properties well-suited for use in targeted alpha therapy (TAT), a powerful treatment method for malignant tumors. Actinium-225 can also be utilized as a generator for (213)Bi (t1/2 45.6 min), which is another valuable candidate for TAT. Actinium-225 can be produced via proton irradiation of thorium metal; however, long-lived (227)Ac (t1/2=21.8a, 99% β(-), 1% α) is co-produced during this process and will impact the quality of the final product. Thus, accurate assays are needed to determine the (225)Ac/(227)Ac ratio, which is dependent on beam energy, irradiation time and target design. Accurate actinium assays, in turn, require efficient separation of actinium isotopes from both the Th matrix and highly radioactive activation by-products, especially radiolanthanides formed from proton-induced fission. In this study, we introduce a novel, selective chromatographic technique for the recovery and purification of actinium isotopes from irradiated Th matrices. A two-step sequence of cation exchange and extraction chromatography was implemented. Radiolanthanides were quantitatively removed from Ac, and no non-Ac radionuclidic impurities were detected in the final Ac fraction. An (225)Ac spike added prior to separation was recovered at ≥ 98%, and Ac decontamination from Th was found to be ≥ 10(6). The purified actinium fraction allowed for highly accurate (227)Ac determination at analytical scales, i.e., at (227)Ac activities of 1-100 kBq (27 nCi to 2.7 μCi)., (Copyright © 2014 Elsevier B.V. A new method for the preparation of nonstoichiometric hydroxyapatite (HA) "dense" and porous granules, round in form and up to 8 mm in sizes designed for application in orthopaedic surgery has been developed. The "dense" granules' porosity was up to 32% and they only contained micropores. They differed from that kind of granules by increased values of compression strength (up to 48 MPa). The porous granules contained a system of interconnected micro- and macropores. The porosity value (up to 70%) and the porosity structure were similar to those in the mineral framework of a spongy bone. The compression strength of the porous granules (up to 25 MPa) was high enough for various kinds of application. Granules of both sorts were used in performing 42 operations on the locomotor system. Depending upon localization and supposed level of the injured area loading, "dense" or porous granules were used. The postoperative observations (up to four years in length) have attested to the high quality of the granules.
