Cervical cancer is a largely preventable malignancy of the uterine cervix. The tendencies in cervical cancer morbidity and mortality have remained similar for the past decade, albeit with increasing frequency in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Moreover, in the majority of LMICs, cervical cancer is the second most prevalent cancer and the second most common cause of cancer-related death among reproductive-age women. High-risk human papillomavirus (HR-HPV) infections have been proven to be associated with up to 95% of cervical cancer cases, with HPV-16 and HPV-18 types being responsible for approximately 70% of all cervical cancers, with the other high-risk HPV types accounting for up to a further 25%. More recently, the latest data appear to confirm there is a change in the frequency of HR-HPV occurrence, especially HPV-16 and HPV-18, as a reflection of the implementation of preventive vaccination programs. Owing to the growing incidence of cervical cancer among reproductive-age women and with the development of cancer management approaches, fertility-sparing options have been proposed for early-stage cervical cancer management as an option for young women, especially those with unaccomplished reproductive desires. However, methods applied for this purpose (cold-knife conization, loop electrosurgical excision, trachelectomy) have variable outcomes and do not prevent risks of relapse. Multiple factors are involved in cervical cancer recurrence, even in cases treated at the early stage of the disease. In this review, the authors unveil whether HPV infection and virus type could be one of the key factors associated with cervical cancer recurrence after fertility-sparing surgery. Reviews of the literature reveal that recurrent and persistent HR-HPV infection is a strong predictor of cervical lesions' relapse. In particular, HPV-16 and HPV-18 infections and their persistence have been reported to be associated with cervical cancer recurrence. HR-HPV genotyping before and after fertility-sparing surgery for cervical cancer could facilitate a personalized approach and improve the overall survival rate. Introduction: The purpose of the research was to explore the relationship between pathology and pregnancy outcomes with serum 25-hydroxycholecalciferol levels and vitamin D supplementation. Methods: A literature search was performed for systematic literature reviews published between January 2018 and February 2023. Forty-two publications were selected for further analysis. Results: This study demonstrates that elevated maternal serum 25(OH)D levels are associated with a decreased risk of preterm labour and various pregnancy-related health issues, highlighting the protective benefits of adequate vitamin D during pregnancy. Conclusion: Vitamin D supplementation during pregnancy at a dose of 2,000 IU or higher is preventive for pre-eclampsia, insulin resistance, and the development of bronchial asthma in early childhood. Vitamin D screening is indicated for all pregnant women. Dosages of vitamin D preparations should be determined individually, considering laboratory tests and risk factors. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Middle-aged working women represent most patients attending fertility clinics for in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment. In this study, we aimed to identify the association of women's working status with clinical pregnancy and miscarriage in the first trimester after IVF treatment. Materials and Methods: In this single-centre cross-sectional study at a private clinic in Kazakhstan, we reviewed electronic medical records of all IVF with intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) and fresh embryo transfer (ET) cycles from January 2018 to December 2019 (n=654). 300 cycles in patients with normal ovarian reserve and registered working status of a female partner in the medical records were selected for the analysis. The study's primary outcome measures were clinical pregnancy rates and clinical miscarriage in the first trimester. Results: 204 women were employed, while 96 were not employed before the start of treatment. The mean age of all patients was 32.2 ± 4.8 years, ranging from 23 to 46 years. Two-thirds of working women had office-based occupations employed as doctors, school and university teachers, accountants, clerks, and managers. One-third of the study participants had manual labor jobs, including service positions and plant workers. There was no association between women's working status and clinical pregnancy rate adjusted for age, antral follicle count, history of pelvic adhesiolysis, and embryo development stage at embryo transfer. However, working women had almost five times the risk of the first trimester miscarriage compared to non-working women [adjusted odds ratio (aOR) 4.56, 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.52 to 4.96] adjusted for age and number of retrieved oocytes. Conclusion: Women who work before commencing IVF treatment can be reassured of having equal chances of conception following the treatment compared to non-working women. Endometriosis is defined as the presence of estrogen-dependent endometrial-like tissue outside the uterine cavity. Despite extensive research, endometriosis is still an enigmatic disease and is challenging to diagnose and treat. A common clinical finding is the association of endometriosis with multiple diseases. We use a total of 627,566 clinically collected data from cases of endometriosis (0.82%) and controls (99.18%) to construct and evaluate predictive models. We develop a machine learning platform to construct diagnostic tools for endometriosis. The platform consists of logistic regression, decision tree, random forest, AdaBoost, and XGBoost for prediction, and uses Shapley Additive Explanation (SHAP) values to quantify the importance of features. In the model selection phase, the constructed XGBoost model performs better than other algorithms while achieving an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.725 on the test set during the evaluation phase, resulting in a specificity of 62.9% and a sensitivity of 68.6%. The model leads to a quite low positive predictive value of 1.5%, but a quite satisfactory negative predictive value of 99.58%. Moreover, the feature importance analysis points to age, infertility, uterine fibroids, anxiety, and allergic rhinitis as the top five most important features for predicting endometriosis. Although these results show the feasibility of using machine learning to improve the diagnosis of endometriosis, more research is required to improve the performance of predictive models for the diagnosis of endometriosis. This state of affairs is in part attributed to the complex nature of the condition and, at the same time, the administrative nature of our features. Should more informative features be used, we could possibly achieve a higher AUC for predicting endometriosis. Endometriosis is a heterogeneous, complex, and still challenging disease, due to its epidemiological, etiological and pathogenic, diagnostic, therapeutic, and prognosis characteristics. The classification of endometriosis is contentious, and existing therapies show significant variability in their effectiveness. This study aims to capture and describe clusters of women with endometriosis based on their comorbidity. With data extracted from electronic records of primary care, this study performs a hierarchical clustering with the Ward method of women with endometriosis with a subsequent analysis of the distribution of comorbidities. Data were available for 4055 women with endometriosis, and six clusters of women were identified: cluster 1 (less comorbidity), cluster 2 (anxiety and musculoskeletal disorders), cluster 3 (type 1 allergy or immediate hypersensitivity); cluster 4 (multiple morbidities); cluster 5 (anemia and infertility); and cluster 6 (headache and migraine). Clustering aggregates similar units into similar clusters, partitioning dissimilar objects into other clusters at a progressively finer granularity—in this case, groups of women with similarities in their comorbidities. Clusters may provide a deeper insight into the multidimensionality of endometriosis and may represent diverse "endometriosis trajectories" which may be associated with specific molecular and biochemical mechanisms. Comorbidity-based clusters may be important to the scientific study of endometriosis, contributing to the clarification of its clinical complexity and variability. An awareness of those comorbidities may help elucidate the etiopathogenesis and facilitate the accurate earlier diagnosis and initiation of treatments targeted toward particular subgroups. Objective: The purpose was to evaluate the effectiveness of a non-invasive prenatal test (NIPT) using mass parallel sequencing (MPS) to detect trisomy 13, 18, 21 and fetal sex chromosome abnormalities in maternal blood samples by isolating freely circulating foetal extracellular DNA (eDNA), and to develop an algorithm for prenatal screening. Material and Methods: The research methods used included blood sampling from patients, isolation of eDNA, determination of DNA concentration and quality, library preparation for sequencing, MPS using an Illumina HiSeq2000, positive and negative control samples, monitoring, and analysis of results using the distributed algorithms platform based on calculations of z-value and the average absolute deviation. Pregnant women were divided into two groups based on gestational age at sampling, group 1; 9-14 weeks and group 2; 15-27 weeks. Results: A total of 377 pregnant women were included with a mean (range) age of 33 (23-44) years. The mean gestational age at the time of blood sampling in group 1 was 11 (9-14) weeks, and in group 2 was 21 (15-27) weeks. In the first group, three cases of trisomy 18 chromosomes were detected in patients aged 43 years old, and female children were subsequently born with Edwards syndrome. In the second group, one case of trisomy 21 was detected in a patient aged 36 years and the pregnancy was terminated at 25 weeks. Conclusion: The analysis of freely circulating foetal eDNA was a sensitive method for detecting chromosomal abnormalities. The study has a practical significance, since the NIPT for frequent aneuploidy considerably exceeds the effectiveness of traditional screening methods and allows identifying chromosomal disorders starting from the 9th week of the gestation period. Cervical cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related death in women of reproductive age. The established fertility-sparing approaches for the management of early-stage cervical cancer for women who plan pregnancy are associated with a decline in fecundity and an increased risk of pregnancy complications. This article aims to offer an overview of fertility-sparing approaches and the management of potential subfertility and pregnancy complications after these treatments. An extensive search for the available data about infertility and cervical cancer, fertility-sparing techniques in patients with cervical cancer, fertility treatment, obstetrical complications, and pregnancy outcomes in cervical cancer patients was completed. Fertility-preserving procedures such as loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP), cold-knife conization, and trachelectomy in women diagnosed with cervical cancer can be considered as safe and effective treatments that preserve reproductive potential. Current fertility-preserving procedures, based on the balance of the oncological characteristics of patients as well as their desire for reproduction, allow one to obtain acceptable reproductive and obstetric outcomes in women treated for cervical cancer. Nevertheless, careful monitoring of pregnancies obtained after fertility-preserving procedures is recommended, since this cohort of patients should be considered at higher risk compared with a healthy population. The data regarding the role of progesterone (P4) in reproductive events of endometriosis patients are limited. This prospective study aimed to examine the predictive value of basal P4 serum levels for successful in vitro fertilization (IVF) in patients with primary infertility and endometriosis. The study included 73 patients divided according to endometriosis treatment (surgery vs. control—no treatment). The general data, basal hormonal status, and pregnancy rates were determined for every patient. Clinical pregnancy was achieved in 40.3% of patients, and more often in patients treated for endometriosis before IVF. The regression analysis showed that higher basal P4 serum levels were associated with achieving pregnancy through IVF. When regression was adjusted for the patient and IVF characteristics, higher basal P4 serum levels were associated with pregnancy achievement in both groups of women, along with the basal serum levels of FSH, LH, and AMH; EFI score; and stimulation protocol. The ROC analysis showed that the basal P4 serum level for successful IVF should be ≥0.7ng/mL. The basal P4 serum level cut-off for IVF success in endometriosis patients was determined for the first time. Constructed models for IVF success prediction emphasize the importance of determining the basal P4 serum levels for the personalized treatment of endometriosis-related infertility. Background: Endometriosis is a complex gynecologic disorder that has been associated with a higher risk of ovarian cancer. The purpose of this work is to determine to what extent a history of endometriosis is a risk factor for ovarian cancer in a Spanish population. Methods: A retrospective case–control study was conducted using de-identified data from the Spanish National Health System's "Primary Care Clinical Database" and "Hospital Minimum Basic Data Set" for the period 2013–2017. Multiple logistics regression analysis was conducted to determine associations between ovarian cancer and endometriosis controlled by sociodemographic characteristics and comorbidities. Results: Data from 608,980 women were analyzed, with 4505 presenting ovarian cancer. Endometriosis patients were shown to have a 2.66-fold increased risk of ovarian cancer when compared to those who did not have endometriosis by controlling age and other relevant comorbidities. Conclusions: This case–control study based on clinical administrative data has found that a history of endometriosis is independently associated with an increased risk of ovarian cancer. The aim of this study was to evaluate the feasibility of Pipelle endometrial sampling and to explore factors influencing Pipelle success rate in the clinical settings of Kazakhstan. This prospective analysis included 87 patients who had undergone Pipelle biopsy due to medical indications for endometrial sampling. We analysed physician and patient-related factors potentially influencing the success rate of this method. Pipelle endometrial biopsy overall success rate was 82.76%. The indications for the procedure and patients' age were key factors influencing Pipelle sampling success (p <.001). The success rate was the highest in the group with abnormal uterine bleeding as a biopsy indication in the reproductive age group (93.19%; p <.001). Pipelle biopsy was found to be an acceptable option for endometrial sampling in our clinical setting; at the same time, physicians should consider the potential influencing factors on its success rate like indications for the procedure, BMI and patients' age as well as their menopausal status. In order to provide precise future directions, there is a need to study a larger number of patients. What is already known on this subject? Compared to dilation and curettage sampling conducted in the operation room, Pipelle endometrial sampling is relatively inexpensive, associated with less morbidity, safe, accurate, and can be performed in an office setting. Introduction: Older women are at greater risk of suffering from a series of comorbidities such as obesity, diabetes, and hypertension that could negatively affect pregnancy course and outcomes. This study aims to investigate the impact of maternal age and pre-pregnancy body mass index (BMI) on pregnancy outcomes of women with diabetes mellitus (DM). Material and methods: The study included 323 diabetic pregnant women. All complications throughout pregnancy and the early neonatal period were noted. The women were divided into groups according to age decade and BMI. Results: 84.8% of women reported pregnancy complications, with a higher prevalence in obese women (p = 0.003). However, most children had a good outcome with few early neonatal complications (36.85%). Old and obese women with DM often showed complications, and their newborns had higher birth weight (p = 0.003) and more neonatal complications (p = 0.041). Maternal BMI (p = 0.016; OR = 1.064), but not age (p = 0.801), was found to be a significant predictor of pregnancy complications. Conclusions: Pregnant women with DM should be considered as high-risk patients. Advanced age and increased BMI prior to pregnancy are risk factors for pregnancy complications. Maternal obesity is the most important predictor of pregnancy complications in women with DM. Pregnancy outcome can be good for both mothers and children with a timely and adequate approach. Objectives. Abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) is a common complaint of women in different age groups, and endometrial biopsy is widely used to investigate the underlying causes. The aim of this observational study was to assess factors influencing pain in patients undergoing endometrial biopsy for AUB. Methods. Pain intensity before, during, and after Pipelle sampling was evaluated using the numerical rating scale (NRS), where "0" represents no pain at all, "10"—the worst pain ever possible. Pain rating was categorized as 1–6—mild to moderate, 7 and above as severe pain. Results. The study included 160 women who underwent Pipelle biopsy. The median age in the cohort was 42 (34–48) years, 18.1% of women were postmenopausal, 56.3% were either overweight or obese, 30% were nulliparous and 80% reported urban residency. The median pain score during the procedure was 2 (0–4). Pain scores of 5 (4–7) were reported with the junior gynecologist and 2 (0–4) in the senior gynecologist (p < 0.0001). Conclusion. The pain was found to have a strong association with the type of provider performing the endometrial sampling procedure. This fact suggests the need for a personalized approach and that psychological or informational interventions should be scheduled before the procedure to decrease pain and increase satisfaction. Introduction: It has been estimated that approximately 16% of pregnancies worldwide are affected by preexisting or gestational insulin-dependent (type 1) or independent (type 2) diabetes mellitus (DM). Diabetes mellitus in pregnancy remains a high-risk condition for both mother and child. This study aimed to investigate pregnancy outcomes regarding DM types. Material and methods: The study included 323 DM patients delivered for 6 years (2012-2017). General and obstetric history data and all complications throughout the pregnancy and the early neonatal period were noted. Based on DM type, women were divided into 4 groups: pre-pregnancy/pre-existing DM, insulin-dependent or independent, and gestational diabetes mellitus with or without insulin therapy. Results: The majority of women had pre-existing insulin-independent DM (type II 62%). Some types of pregnancy/maternal complications were registered in almost 85% of examined pregnancies. However, all babies were live born and mostly with good outcome (36.85% with early neonatal complications). Diabetes mellitus type could not predict the occurrence of neonatal complications (p = 0.342). Pre-existing insulin-dependent DM increased the risk for pregnancy complications (p = 0.031; OR = 1.656). Conclusions: Diabetes mellitus type has a limited impact on pregnancy outcomes and the occurrence of maternal and neonatal complications. Complete diagnostic autopsy (CDA) remains the gold standard and a valuable technique for determining cause of death. It is a source of health statistics that can be used to measure health care services’ quality, unraveling important information on disease processes, particularly in emerging and unknown diseases. It can also be a vital tool for medical education and biomedical research. However, autopsy rates have been declining globally. There is an urgent need to develop and validate alternative methods in different settings to provide reliable information on cause of death. In this study, we aimed to determine cause of death (KazCoDe) in neonates and infants using minimally invasive tissue sampling (MITS), and to compare these results with those of CDA. We conducted MITS and CDA sequentially on 24 deceased children at the Pathological Bureau of the Akimat of the city of Nur-Sultan. Clinical data of the study subjects were extracted from their clinical records. During both procedures, brain, liver and lung tissues were collected for pathological diagnosis. Fifteen (62.5%) and nine (37.5%) were stillbirths and neonates, respectively. Eight (33.3%) were females and 16 (66.7%) were males. MITS diagnosis of cause of death was concordant with CDA diagnosis in 83.3% out of the 24 cases when considering the immediate and underlying causes of death and reviewing all the clinical and laboratory test results as part of the diagnostic evaluation to arrive at a cause of death (ICD-PM). We concluded that MITS is a valuable and reliable method for cause of death diagnosis in stillbirths and neonates, which can contribute vital mortality statistics in children in the absence of CDA. Endometriosis is described as the presence of both endometrial glandular and stromal cells outside the uterine cavity. A major characterization of this disease is ectopic implantation of endometrial cells with increased migration. It is one of the leading causes of morbidity among premenopausal women, with a prevalence of 10-16% of women of reproductive age. Despite over century of intensive research, none of the current treatment options represents a real cure. Based on the current knowledge, endometriosis, particularly its atypical version, is considered to be a transitional form from benign disease to tumour. Adnexal masses are rare in the young female population. The differential diagnosis includes ovarian masses, tubal/paratubal masses, masses related to the gastrointestinal tract (colon), infectious lesions, or pregnancy. Acute abdominal pain, and less commonly, precocious puberty or vaginal bleeding, are typical symptoms in these cases. The majority of adnexal masses in the paediatric and adolescent population are benign; however, a thorough preoperative assessment is essential to guide surgical intervention and optimise patient outcomes. The proper diagnosis of an adnexal mass, correct management (surgical or nonsurgical), and necessary referrals are of paramount importance. In the light of these cornerstones, this review describes the aetiologies, presenting symptoms, and appropriate diagnostic work-up for paediatric and adolescent patients affected by adnexal masses. Adnexal masses are a common finding in women, with 20% of them developing at least one pelvic mass during their lifetime. There are more than 30 different subtypes of adnexal tumours, with multiple different subcategories, and the correct characterisation of the pelvic masses is of paramount importance to guide the correct management. On that basis, different algorithms and scoring systems have been developed to guide the clinical assessment. The first scoring system implemented into the clinical practice was the Risk of Malignancy Index, which combines ultrasound evaluation, menopausal status, and serum CA-125 levels. Today, current guidelines regarding female patients with adnexal masses include the application of International Ovarian Tumours Analysis simple rules, logistic regression model 1 (LR1) and LR2, OVERA, cancer ovarii non-invasive assessment of treating strategy, and assessment of Different Neoplasias in the adnexa. In this scenario, the choice of the scoring system for the discrimination between benign and malignant ovarian tumours can be complex when approaching patients with adnexal masses. Introduction: Infertility is a problem that affects millions of people worldwide. The aim of this study was to assess the effect of stress, depression and anxiety on the IVF outcomes in Kazakhstan. Methods: The prospective cohort study was performed using questionnaires to assess psychological distress in 304 infertile female in three different cities in Kazakhstan. Results: The average age of participants was 33.7 years with infertility duration of 5.9 years. Regarding stress, depression and anxiety we found that more than 80% of all respondents had CES-D score higher than 16, indicating that they are at risk of developing clinical depression. On average, FPI subscales' scores, global stress score and anxiety scale (STAI-S and STAI-T) scores were statistically significantly higher among not pregnant women than pregnant women. Similarly, in simple logistic regression analysis all FPI subscales scores, global stress scale score and anxiety scales' scores were negatively associated with clinical pregnancy. Conclusion: Rates of stress, anxiety and depression among IVF patients are higher than in general population. If the level of infertility-related stress is higher, IVF success rate is lower. Purpose: Evaluation of simplified Bishop score and ultrasound cervicometry in the assessment of labor induction success in nulliparous women. Methods: Prospective cohort study included 146 nulliparous women with singleton pregnancy and indications for labor induction. Prior to labor induction, cervicometry and Bishop score were determined. Upon delivery, patients were classified as those delivered vaginally and by cesarean section (CS) after unsuccessful labor induction. Results: Bishop score >5 was found in 47.95% of vaginally delivered women and 12.33% of patients delivered by CS (p <.01). Cervicometry had appropriate findings in 34.2% of vaginally delivered women and 75.3% of those delivered by CS (p <.01). Bishop score (>5 versus ≤5) had lower sensitivity (52.05%) and specificity (12.33%) than cervicometry (good versus unfavorable findings) (sensitivity 65.75%, specificity 75.34%) for prediction of labor induction success. If Bishop score was ≤5, cervicometry had 50.0% sensitivity and 78.13% specificity, while if Bishop score was >5, 82.86% sensitivity and 55.56% specificity. Obtained model for predicting labor induction outcome in nulliparous women based on their clinical and ultrasonographical characteristics identified the Bishop score as the most important predictor. Conclusions: Study confirmed the usefulness of simplified Bishop score and ultrasound cervicometry in the assessment of labor induction success in nulliparous women. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic synovial inflammatory autoimmune disease with multifactorial origin. With epigenetic and genetic mechanisms playing a role in the development of RA, the aim of our study was to evaluate the anthropogenetic variability in tested individuals that were diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, and the possible influence of gender in expression of illness. 100 patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and 100 healthy control individuals were evaluated. For the estimation of the degree of recessive homozygosity, the homozygously recessive characteristics (HRC) test was performed testing 20 HRCs. There was a significant difference in the individual variations of 20 HRCs between the individuals of the control group and patients with RA (ΣX²=135.191; p<0.001). The mean values of the tested HRCs significantly differed between individuals of the control group and RA group (MV±SDControl group-5.97±2.02, MV±SDRA group-7.34±2.00, p=<0.001). There was a decrease in variability in the RA group versus the control group (VRA group=27.19%; VControl group=33.79%). There was significant difference in the frequencies of HRCs between those with and without RA in males (p<0.023) and in females (p<0.001). Our findings pointed to the higher degree of recessive homozygosity along with decreased variability in RA patients compared to a healthy control group. Therefore, it may be assumed that different genes in different proportions have certain influence in the processes responsible for RA susceptibility and its different degrees of expression. Objective: There are still contradictory opinions on the success rates of uterine artery embolization (UAE) for the treatment of myomas. In this scenario, our study aims to assess the effect of UAE on myoma shrinkage. Materials and Methods: The study included 337 women in reproductive age affected by a single symptomatic intramural myoma and declined surgery, undergoing UAE. The uterus and myoma diameters and volumes were determined on ultrasonographic scans before and 3, 6, and 12 months after the procedure. Results: The mean uterine volume before intervention was 226.46 ± 307.67 mm3, whereas myoma volume was 51.53 ± 65.53 mm3. Further myoma progression was registered in only four patients. In remaining women, uterus volume in average decreased for 149.99 ± 156.63 mm3, whereas myomas decreased for 36.57 ± 47.96 mm3. The mean volume reduction rate of the uterus was 49.54 ± 35.62 and for myoma was 57.58 ± 30.71. A significant decrease in both uterine and myoma volume was registered in every stage of the follow-up. The highest average decrease in uterine volume was in the first 3 months and myoma volume between 3 and 6 months following UAE. After 12 months follow-up, successful outcome (volume regression >50% respect to the baseline) was registered for uterus in 97.4% and for myoma in 67.9% of investigated patients. Introduction: Mesenchymal stem cells from Wharton's Jelly of a human umbilical cord (WJ-MSCs) are a potential tool in regenerative medicine based on their availability, proliferative potential and differentiation capacity. Since their physiological niche contains low oxygen levels, we investigated whether cultivation of WJ-MSCs at 3% O2 affects their main features.Methods: WJ-MSCs were cultured under 21% and 3% O2. Proliferation rate was followed by short and long term proliferation assays, clonogenic capacity by CFU-F assay and cell cycle and death by flow cytometry. Differentiation capacity was investigated by histochemical staining after induced differentiation. Pluripotency and differentiation markers' expression was determined by RT-PCR. Migration capacity was followed by scratch assay and mobilization from collagen, and the activity of proteolytic enzymes by zymography. Specific inhibitors of MAPK and Wnt/β-catenin pathways were used to investigate underlying molecular mechanisms.Results: Compared to standard 21% O2, cultivation of WJ-MSCs at 3% O2 did not influence their immunophenotype, while it modulated their differentiation process and enhanced their clonogenic and expansion capacity. 3% O2 induced transient change in cell cycle and prevented cell death. The expression of NANOG, OCT4A, OCT4B and SOX2 was increased at 3% O2. Both cultivation and preculturing of WJ-MSCs at 3% O2 increased their in vitro migratory capacity and enhanced the activity of proteolytic enzymes. ERK1/2 mediated WJ-MSCs' mobilization from collagen regardless of oxygen levels, while Wnt/β-catenin pathway was activated during migration and mobilization at standard conditions.Conclusion: Culturing of WJ-MSCs under 3% O2 should be considered a credible condition when investigating their properties and potential use.
