Plexiform neurofibroma is a rare benign tumor of the peripheral nerves involving the conjunctiva cells of the perineurium. It is pathognomonic of neurofibromatosis type1 (NF1 or Von Recklinghausen disease). MRI is a great help in the diagnosis of this pathology. Anatomopathological confirmation is sometimes necessary, in particular in patients with no signs of NF1. We here report the case of a little girl with cervical plexiform neurofibroma revealing neurofibromatosis type 1.

Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are a rare group of mesenchymal tumors mainly occurring in the gastrointestinal tract. Previously, GISTs were classified as smooth muscle tumors also known as leiomyomas, leiomyosarcomas or leiomyoblastomas. However, since the advent of immunohistochemistry, GISTs have been diagnosed on the basis of the identification of c-kit-positive cells. We here report a case of stromal tumor of the small intestine in order to analyze it in the light of literature data and imaging results, which may suggest prebiopsy diagnosis as well as its therapeutic and prognostic peculiarities.

Renal angiomyolipomas are rare type of benign renal neoplasm. They are composed of vascular, smooth and fat elements and can be associated to phacomatosis as Tuberous Sclerosis disease. Symptomatic presentation is most frequently spontaneous retroperitoneal hemorrhage, which can be fatal. The risk of bleeding is proportional to the size of the lesion (>4 cm of diameter). Typical angiomyolipomas are benign but may have alarming properties: nuclear pleomorphism and mitotic activity, extension into the vena cava, and spread to regional lymph nodes without malignant progression. We report a Computed Tomography finding of a rare giant bilateral angiomyolipomas with spontaneous hemorrhage and inferior vena cava thrombus in a patient with tuberous sclerosis, emphasizing the importance of imagery in the positive and etiologic diagnosis.

Mirizzi's syndrome is a rare complication of chronic vesicular lithiasis with prevalence ranging from 0.7% to 1.4% among patients who have undergone cholecystectomy. It is characterized by cholestatic icterus associated with compression of the common bile duct due to lodged calculus in the vesicular neck or in the cystic duct. The disease can evolve toward the erosion through the common hepatic duct wall and, therefore, it can cause the formation of a gallbladder-biliary fistula. We here report a case of Mirizzi's syndrome type I in order to highlight the role of preoperative diagnosis which is made easier by endoscopic retrograde cholangiography or by cholangio-MRI, allowing to avoid iatrogenic bile duct injuries. We conducted a review of the available literature on various aspects of this syndrome, including its pathogenesis, diagnosis and management.

Scimitar syndrome or veino-lobaire syndrome (term coined by Felson) is a very rare disease characterized by the combination of cardiopulmonary anomalies, in particular an anomalous right pulmonary venous return, located mostly in the inferior vena cava. We here report the original case of a 6-month-old female infant presenting with acute dyspnea. The diagnosis was suspected on the basis of thoracic radiograph and was confirmed by tomodensitometry which showed a large single right pulmonary vein draining into the right atrium associated with dextrocardia and pulmonary sequestration. Left atrial appendage aneurysm is a very rare heart anomaly. It may be congenital or acquired, secondary to inflammatory or degenerative processes. Most cases are asymptomatic. The prevalence of these lesions in pediatric age has been very rarely reported. As it can cause potentially fatal arrhythmias or thrombus, surgery is required immediately after diagnosis. This study reports the case of a 14-year-old boy with rapidly progressive dyspnea, palpitations, sensation of repetitive dizziness and fainting, in whom congenital left atrial appendage aneurysm was detected. Diagnosis was based on coronary CTA data. Myositis ossificans circumscripta (MOC) is a rare condition characterized by nontumoral heterotopic ossification of the soft tissues. This condition affects young subjects, occurring mainly after trauma. It is ubiquitous, predominantly located in girdles and limbs. We report the case of a young patient with paravertebral MOC without traumatic context; the aim of this study was to recall diagnostic criteria and imaging aspects.

The intersection syndrome, described since the 19(th) century, is an uncommon disorder associated with rubbing at the crossing point between the first dorsal compartment muscles and the radial wrist extensor muscles. Imaging modalities used to diagnosis this syndrome includes ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging. We reported a case of a 60-year-old man presented to our formation with painful swelling on the dorsum of the wrist and forearm. An MRI and an ultrasound were performed, and objectified a dual cross syndrome of the forearm.

Cerebral malaria is one of the most serious complications in the Plasmodium falciparum infection. In endemic areas, the cerebral malaria interested mainly children. The occurrence in adults is very rare and most interested adult traveling in tropical zones. This case report describes a motor deficit post cerebral malaria in a young adult traveling in malaria endemic area. This complication has been reported especially in children and seems very rare in adults.

Tumoral calcinosis is a rare benign disease, defined by the presence of calcified deposits in periarticular tissues. The pathogenesis is unclear. We report a new case of tumoral calcinosis in a young girl, involving the left hip and both elbows. The clinical exam found a voluminous mass of soft tissues and the radiological exam showed the presence of voluminous periarticular calcifications with no bone involvement. Cochleovestibular dysplasia or Mondini malformation is exceptional. Cochlear dysplasia is due to early cessation of the development of the inner ear during embryonic life. We report on the case of an infant who presented with perception deafness and repeated meningitis. CT allowed the diagnosis of Mondini malformation. Introduction: Neurogenic tumors account for 30% of mediastinal tumors in children. The thoracic region is the most common site for neurofibromas. We report a case of a voluminous neurofibroma in a small girl., Case: After 8 months of paraplegia, a 4-year-old girl underwent thoracic radiography and computed tomography as well as magnetic resonance imaging of the spine. These revealed a huge mediastinal mass continuing into the vertebral canal and compressing the cord. Histological examination after surgery confirmed the diagnosis of neurofibroma. At the follow-up examination a month later, the paraplegia had resolved., Discussion: Neurofibromas may manifest as solitary tumors or may be one manifestation of neurofibromatosis. In mediastinal neurofibroma, thoracic radiography, and computed tomography can show the tumor, posterior vertebral scalloping, and enlarged neural foramina. MR imaging provides the exact anatomic location, as well as any compression and displacement caused by the tumor. This information is essential for deciding the exact extent of resection. MRI may also be helpful in postoperative management.

Objective: To specify CT scan roll in diagnosis of radicullar cyst invading maxillary sinus., Methods: Two cases of 23 and 34-year-old men presented with facial injury and sinusitis was explored by CT scan., Results: CT scan showed in both patients a cystic lesion, developing into the maxillary sinus around a tooth apex and limits by a double dense thin rim., Conclusion: CT scan permits diagnosis of radicular cyst invading maxillary sinus, in the event of obscured maxillary sinus, when double dense thin rim corresponding to the repulsed wall of the sinus is looking.

The authors report the case of a 40 year old patient with history of cauda equina syndrome and pyramidal signs due to intramedullary rupture of a congenital dermoid cyst of the conus without associated spinal dysraphism. Diagnosis was suggested at magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and confirmed by histological examination and percutaneous aspiration of the intramedullary cavity.

Introduction: Among the extra-pulmonary localizations, isolated tuberculosis of the sternum is rare and difficult to diagnose., Observations: A 30 year-old man presented with tumefaction of the sternum that had developed over the past two months and a 52 year-old woman had developed a painful tumefaction of the sternum over the past 4 months. In both cases, the histopathological examination of a biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of tuberculosis. Anti-bacterial therapy permitted the favourable progression of the disease., Discussion: Such diagnosis is rare. Contamination can occur through contiguity, which was not manifest in either of the two cases. Confrontation between the histological and/or bacteriological samples is required.

The rhabdomyosarcomas are rare tumors of mesenchymal tIssue. Whose most frequent localisations are génito-urinary, and occur in the child and young adult. It's an intrascrotal tumour, localised in the tunica vaginalis, epididymis or spermatic cord. The Authors report a case of paratesticular rhabdomyosarcoma in a 15 Year old child, who presented a right painless scrotal mass since two Months. The research of the tumoral markers is negative. Scrotal ultrasound shows a tissular mass in spermatic cord. Abdominal ultrasound and CT show retroperitoneal lymph node mass. Chest X-ray is normal. The intervention consists of a right castration. The histological examination of the spiceman confirms the diagnosis of the paratesticular rhabdomyosarcoma of the spermatic cord. The patient is treated by chemotherapy without improvement. Through this observation, the Authors underline the interest of the imagery and the aspects of the paratesticular tumours in ultrasound and CT.

We report one case of intrascrotal inflammatory tumour in a 12 year-old boy. The clinical symptomatology was a tumoral rise in the right scrotal volume. The rate of biological markers was normal. A testicular neoplasm was highly suspected in scrotal ultrasound and CT scan. A radical orchidectomy was accomplished and histological examination revealed a peritesticular inflammatory tumor without neoplasm. The clinical and imaging findings of the tumor are discussed.

The authors report a case of abdominal pregnancy that reached term. This type of pregnancy is now rare except in developing countries due to lack of early diagnosis. Ultrasonography is useful to confirm a clinically suspected diagnosis. MRI is helpful to further characterize the relation between placental tissue and intra-abdominal organs. Prognosis for the fetus is usually poor, and risks to the mother are non-negligible. Management is typically surgical and placental resection is the main concern. In this case, surgical delivery of an otherwise normal appearing infant was performed.

Isolated tuberculosis of the spleen is rare and difficult to diagnose. The features and management of this disease are discussed based on one case. A 52-year-old woman, presented with fever of unknown origin and splenomegaly. Ultrasonography and computed tomography demonstrated heterogeneous areas within the spleen. The diagnosis was made by a pathologic study of a splenic fragment obtained during laparotomy. When the spleen is the only organ involved by tuberculosis, the diagnosis is usually made by a pathologic study of splenic tissue obtained during laparotomy or percutaneous needle biopsy.

One case of inflammatory pseudo-tumor revealed by mictional disorders is reported. Ultrasonography and computed tomography visualised a non specific formation of bladder dome witch extend to the Retzius space and umbilicus. The diagnosis of urachal tumor had been suspected. Anatomopathologic analysis of the operative piece disclose a diagnosis of the urachal remnants with foreign body type of inflammation. Since malignant transformation of urachal remnants is possible, surgical resection is advised.

Rhino-orbito-cerebral mucormycosis is a rare fungal infection, invading rapidly the nasal cavity, paranasal sinuses, orbits and intracranial structures. It most often occurs in predisposing conditions (diabetics, immunosuppressed patients). The authors report the case of a diabetic patient who presented with extensive necrotic lesions of the face in spite of appropriate antistaphylococcic therapy. Diagnosis was confirmed by histologic and mycologic tests. The outcome was favorable after Amphotericin B therapy, daily debridement, and optimal control of the diabetes.

Radiological, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging findings in a case of spinal hydatidosis are reported.

Renal sinus hematoma is a rare complication of anticoagulant therapy. Prognosis is usually excellent with spontaneous regression. The authors report a case of spontaneous bilateral renal sinus hematoma in a 59-year-old woman, treated by anticoagulants for a cardiac disease. Diagnosis and follow-up are made using computed tomography.
