The matrix-induced autologous chondrocyte implant (MACI) was developed to repair articular cartilage with an advance on the autologous chondrocyte implant procedure. This study aimed to evaluate whether MACI is a safe and efficacious cartilage repair treatment for patients with knee cartilage lesions. The primary outcomes were the Knee Injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS) domains and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) results, compared between baseline and postoperative months 3, 6, 12, and 24. A total of 15 patients (20 knees), with an average age of 33.9 years, had a mean defect size of 4.01 cm2. By 6-month follow-up, KOOS results demonstrated significant improvements in symptoms and knee-related quality of life. MRI showed significant improvements in four individual graft scoring parameters at 24 months postoperatively. At 24 months, 90% of MACI grafts had filled completely and 10% had good-to-excellent filling of the chondral defect. Most (95%) of the MACI grafts were isointense and 5% were slightly hyperintense. Histologic evaluation at 15 and 24 months showed predominantly hyaline cartilage in newly generated tissue. There were no postoperative complications in any patients and no adverse events related to the MACI operation. This 2-year study has confirmed that MACI is safe and effective with the advantages of a simple technique and significant clinical improvements. Further functional and mechanistic studies with longer follow-up are needed to validate the efficacy and safety of MACI in patients with articular cartilage injuries. The structures of all new compounds were confirmed by 1H nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, 13C nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry. All these synthesized acylides were evaluated for in vitro antimicrobial activities against gram-positive pathogens (Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis) and gram-negative pathogens (Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli), using the broth microdilution method. Our previous studies confirmed the advantages of quantum dots-based nanotechnology for quantitative analysis of biomarkers compared with conventional immunohistochemistry (IHC). This study was designed to assess Ki67 by quantum dot-immunohistochemistry (QD-IHC) and investigate the prognostic value of the Ki67 score in human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive (non-luminal) breast cancer. Methods: Ki67 expression in 108 HER2-positive (non-luminal) breast cancer specimens was detected by IHC and QD-IHC. Two observers assessed the Ki67 score independently and comparisons between the two methods were made. The prognostic value of the Ki67 score for five-year disease-free survival was estimated. Results: The same antigen localization, high correlation of staining rates (r=0.993), and high agreement of measurements (Κ=0.874) of Ki67 expression (cutoff: 30%) in breast cancer were found by QD-IHC and conventional IHC. This study evaluated the relationship between HER2 and hormone receptors and explored the additional prognostic value of Ki67, EGFR, the androgen receptor, and p53. Methods: Quantitative determination of HER2 and EGFR was performed in 240 invasive breast cancer tissue microarray specimens using quantum dot (QD)-based nanotechnology. We identified two subtypes of HER2, ie, high total HER2 load (HTH2) and low total HER2 load (LTH2), and three subtypes of hormone receptor, ie, high hormone receptor (HHR), low hormone receptor (LHR), and no hormone receptor (NHR). Therefore, breast cancer patients could be divided into five subtypes according to HER2 and hormone receptor status. Ki67, p53, and the androgen receptor were determined by traditional immunohistochemistry techniques. The relationship between hormone receptors and HER2 was investigated and the additional value of Ki67, EGFR, the androgen receptor, and p53 for prediction of 5-year disease-free survival was assessed. Results: In all patients, quantitative determination showed a statistically significant (P0.05) between the five subtypes. EGFR and Ki67 had prognostic significance for 5-year disease-free survival in univariate analysis, but the androgen receptor and p53 did not. Multivariate analysis identified that EGFR expression had predictive significance for 5-year disease-free survival in hormone-receptor positive patients and in those with the lymph node-positive breast cancer subtype. Conclusion: Hormone receptor expression was indeed one of the molecular profiles in the subtypes identified by quantitative HER2 and vice versa. EGFR status may provide discriminative prognostic information in addition to HER2 and hormone receptor status, and should be integrated into routine practice to help formulate more specific prediction of the prognosis and appropriate individualized treatment. Fast magnetic fluctuations due to thermal torques have useful technologicalfunctionality ranging from cryptography to probabilistic computing. Thecharacteristic time of fluctuations in typical uniaxial anisotropy magnetsstudied so far is bounded from below by the well-known energy relaxationmechanism. This time scales as $\alpha^{-1}$, where $\alpha$ parameterizes thestrength of dissipative processes. Here, we theoretically analyze thefluctuating dynamics in easy-plane and antiferromagnetically couplednanomagnets. We find in such magnets, the dynamics are strongly influenced byfluctuating intrinsic fields, which give rise to an additional dephasing-typemechanism for washing out correlations. In particular, we establish two timescales for characterizing fluctuations (i) the average time for a nanomagnet toreverse|which for the experimentally relevant regime of low damping is governedprimarily by dephasing and becomes independent of $\alpha$, (ii) the time scalefor memory loss of a single nanomagnet|which scales as $\alpha^{-1/3}$ and isgoverned by a combination of energy dissipation and dephasing mechanism. Fortypical experimentally accessible values of intrinsic fields, the resultantthermal-fluctuation rate is increased by multiple orders of magnitude whencompared with the bound set solely by the energy relaxation mechanism inuniaxial magnets. This could lead to higher operating speeds of emergingdevices exploiting magnetic fluctuations.

Different from traditional organic luminescent materials based on covalent delocalization, clusteroluminescence from nonconjugated luminogens relies on noncovalent through-space conjugation of electrons. However, such spatial electron delocalization is usually weak, resulting in low luminescent efficiency and board emission peak due to multiple vibrational energy levels. Herein, several nonconjugated luminogens are constructed by employing biphenyl as the building unit to reveal the structure-property relationship and solve current challenges. The intramolecular through-space conjugation can be gradually strengthened by introducing building units and stabilized by rigid molecular skeleton and multiple intermolecular interactions. Surprisingly, narrowband clusteroluminescence with full width at half-maximum of 40 nm and 100% efficiency is successfully achieved via an asymmetric conformation, exhibiting comparable performance to the traditional conjugated luminogens. This work realizes highly efficient and narrowband clusteroluminescence from nonconjugated luminogens and highlights the essential role of structural conformation in manipulating the photophysical properties of unconventional luminescent materials., (© 2024. Microbial fuel cells (MFCs) have the potential to directly convert the chemical energy in organic matter into electrical energy, making them a promising technology for achieving sustainable energy production alongside wastewater treatment. However, the low extracellular electron transfer (EET) rates and limited bacteria loading capacity of MFCs anode materials present challenges in achieving high power output. In this study, three-dimensionally heteroatom-doped carbonized grape (CG) monoliths with a macroporous structure were successfully fabricated using a facile and low-cost route and employed as independent anodes in MFCs for treating brewery wastewater. The CG obtained at 900 °C (CG-900) exhibited excellent biocompatibility. When integrated into MFCs, these units initiated electricity generation a mere 1.8 days after inoculation and swiftly reached a peak output voltage of 658 mV, demonstrating an exceptional areal power density of 3.71 W m -2 . The porous structure of the CG-900 anode facilitated efficient ion transport and microbial community succession, ensuring sustained operational excellence. Remarkably, even when nutrition was interrupted for 30 days, the voltage swiftly returned to its original level. Moreover, the CG-900 anode exhibited a superior capacity for accommodating electricigens, boasting a notably higher abundance of Geobacter spp. (87.1%) compared to carbon cloth (CC, 63.0%). Most notably, when treating brewery wastewater, the CG-900 anode achieved a maximum power density of 3.52 W m -2 , accompanied by remarkable treatment efficiency, with a COD removal rate of 85.5%. This study provides a facile and low-cost synthesis technique for fabricating high-performance MFC anodes for use in microbial energy harvesting.

Organic radicals with narrow energy gaps are highly sought-after for the production of near-infrared (NIR) fluorophores. However, the current repertoire of developed organic radicals is notably limited, facing challenges related to stability and low fluorescence efficiency. This study addresses these limitations by achieving stable radicals in nonconjugated poly(diphenylmethane) (PDPM). Notably, PDPM exhibits a well-balanced structural flexibility and rigidity, resulting in a robust intra-/inter-chain through-space conjugation (TSC). The stable radicals within PDPM, coupled with strong TSC, yield a remarkable full-spectrum emission spanning from blue to NIR beyond 900 nm. This extensive tunability is achieved through careful adjustments of concentration and excitation wavelength. Full-color luminophores have advanced applications in materials and engineering, but constructing color-tunable clusteroluminescence (CL) from nonconjugated polymers based on through-space interactions remains a huge challenge. Herein, we develop phosphine-capped nonconjugated polyesters exhibiting blue-to-red CL (400-700 nm) based on phosphine-initiated copolymerization of epoxides and cyclic anhydrides, especially P 1-0.5TPP , which exhibits red CL (610 nm) with a high quantum yield of 32%. Experiments and theoretical calculations disclose that the phosphine-capped effect in polyesters brings about conformational changes and induces phosphine-ester clusters by through-space ( n ,π*) interactions. Moreover, CL colors and efficiencies can be easily tailored by types of phosphines, compositions and structures of polyesters, and concentration. Significantly, the role of polymer motions (group, segmental, and chain motions) on CL originating from microregions inside polyesters is revealed. Further, phosphine-capped nonconjugated polyesters are demonstrated to be nonconjugated dyes and fluorescent fibers and are also used for multicolor light-emitting diodes including white light. This work not only provides an engineering strategy based on the end-group effect to prepare full-color clusteroluminogens but also broadens the prospects for material applications.

Making nonconjugated polymers to emit visible light remains a formidable challenge, let alone near-infrared (NIR) light, although NIR luminophores have many advanced applications. Herein, we propose an electron-bridging strategy of using heteroatoms (O, N, and S) to achieve tunable emission from blue to NIR regions (440-800 nm) in nonconjugated polyesters. Especially, sulfur-containing polyester P4 exhibits NIR clusteroluminescence (CL) on changing either the concentration or excitation wavelength. Experimental characterization and theoretical calculation demonstrate that the introduction of heteroatoms significantly enhances the through-space interactions (TSIs) via the electron-bridging effect between heteroatoms and carbonyls. The strength of the electron-bridging effect follows the order of S > N > O, based on two synergistic effects: electronic structure and van der Waals radius of heteroatoms. This work provides a low-cost, scalable platform to produce new-generation nonconjugated luminophores with deeper insight into the photophysical mechanism.

Near-infrared luminophores have many advantages in advanced applications, especially for structures without π-conjugation aromatic rings. However, the fabrication of red clusteroluminogens from nonconjugated polymers is still a big challenge, let alone the near-infrared clusteroluminogens. Here, we develop nonconjugated luminophores with full-spectrum from blue to near-infrared light (470 ~ 780 nm), based on color phenomenon of nonconjugated polyesters synthesized from the amine-initiated copolymerization of epoxides and cyclic anhydrides. We reveal that amines act as initiators attached to polymer chain ends. The formation of various amine-ester complexes in polyesters induces red to near-infrared light, conceptually, amine-ester complexed clusteroluminescence via intra/inter-chain charge transfer. Significantly, emission colors can be easily tuned by the contents and types of amines, microstructures of polyesters, and their concentration. The odd-even effect is a fantastic phenomenon in nature, which has been applied in diverse fields such as organic self-assembled monolayers and liquid crystals. Currently, the origin of each odd-even effect remains elusive, and all of the reported odd-even effects are related to the ground-state properties. Here, we discover an excited-state odd-even effect in the through-space interaction (TSI) of nonconjugated tetraphenylalkanes (TPAs). The TPAs with an even number of alkyl carbon atoms (C2-TPA, C4-TPA, and C6-TPA) show strong TSI, long-wavelength emission, and high QY. However, the odd ones (C1-TPA, C3-TPA, C5-TPA, and C7-TPA) are almost nonexistent with negligible QY. Systematically experimental and theoretical results reveal that the excited-state odd-even effect is synthetically determined by three factors: alkyl geometry, molecular movability, and intermolecular packing. Moreover, these flexible luminescent TPAs possess tremendous advantages in fluorescent information encryptions. This work extends the odd-even effect to photophysics, demonstrating its substantial importance and universality in nature.

The infrageneric taxonomy system, species delimitation, and interspecies systematic relationships of Leontopodium remain controversial and complex. However, only a few studies have focused on the molecular phylogeny of this genus. In this study, the characteristics of 43 chloroplast genomes of Leontopodium and its closely related genera were analyzed. Phylogenetic relationships were inferred based on chloroplast genomes and nuclear ribosomal DNA (nrDNA). Finally, together with the morphological characteristics, the relationships within Leontopodium were identified and discussed. The results showed that the chloroplast genomes of Filago , Gamochaeta , and Leontopodium were well-conserved in terms of gene number, gene order, and GC content. The most remarkable differences among the three genera were the length of the complete chloroplast genome, large single-copy region, small single-copy region, and inverted repeat region. In addition, the chloroplast genome structure of Leontopodium exhibited high consistency and was obviously different from that of Filago and Gamochaeta in some regions, such as matk , trnK (UUU)-rps16 , petN-psbM , and trnE (UUC)-rpoB . All the phylogenetic trees indicated that Leontopodium was monophyletic. Except for the subgeneric level, our molecular phylogenetic results were inconsistent with the previous taxonomic system, which was based on morphological characteristics. Nevertheless, we found that the characteristics of the leaf base, stem types, and carpopodium base were phylogenetically correlated and may have potential value in the taxonomic study of Leontopodium . Clusteroluminescence (CL) and through-space interactions (TSIs) of non-conjugated molecules have drawn more attention due to their unique photophysical behaviors that are different from largely conjugated luminogens. However, achieving red and even near-infrared (NIR) emission from such systems is still challenging due to the intrinsic drawbacks of non-conjugated molecules and the lack of theories for structure-property relationships. In this work, six phenolic resins are designed and synthesized based on two molecule-engineering strategies: increasing the number of TSIs units and introducing electron-donating/-withdrawing groups. All phenolic resins are verified as luminogens with CL property (CLgens), and the first example of CLgens with NIR emission (maximum emission wavelength ≥680 nm) and high absolute quantum yield (47 %) is reported. Experiments and theoretical analysis reveal that two TSIs types, through-space locally excited state and through-space charge transfer state, play essential roles in achieving CL from these non-conjugated polymers, which could be manipulated via changing structural conformation and electron density or altering electron transition behaviors. High refractive index polymers (HRIPs) have drawn attention for their optoelectronic applications and HRIPs with excellent transparency and facile preparation are highly demanded. Herein, sulfur-containing all organic HRIPs with refractive indices up to 1.8433 at 589 nm and excellent optical transparency even in one hundred micrometre scale in the visual and RI region as well as high weight-average molecular weights (up to 44500) are prepared by our developed organobase catalyzed polymerization of bromoalkynes and dithiophenols in yields up to 92%. Notably, the fabricated optical transmission waveguides using the resultant HRIP with the highest refractive index display a reduced propagation loss compared with that generated by the commercial material of SU-8. In addition, the tetraphenylethylene containing polymer not only exhibits a reduced propagation loss, but also is used to examine the uniformity and continuity of optical waveguides with naked eyes because of its aggregation-induced emission feature., (© 2023. Simplicillium species are widely distributed with a broad spectrum of hosts and substrates. Generally, these species are entomopathogenic or mycoparasitic. Notably, some isolates of Simplicillium lanosoniveum and Simplicillium obclavatum were obtained from human tissues. In this study, two fungi were isolated from the annular itchy patch of infected skin of a 46-year-old man with diabetes mellitus. Based on a combination of morphological characteristics and phylogenetic analysis, a novel species, Simplicillium sinense , was introduced herein. It morphologically differs from the remaining Simplicillium in the size of phialides and conidia. Additionally, it grows slowly on YPD at 37°C. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing presented that this fungus is resistant to most azole antifungals. Therefore, the diagnosis of tinea faciei was made, and after 2 weeks of being treated with oral terbinafine (250 mg, once a day) and topical terbinafine cream for 1 month, the rash was mainly resolved and no recurrence happened after 6 months of follow-up. Herein, Simplicillium sinense was introduced as a new fungal taxon. Meanwhile, a case of superficial infection caused by S. sinense was reported. So far, it is the third Simplicillium species obtained from human tissue. As a low energy consumption, simple operation and environmentally friendly separation method, membrane separation has attracted extensive attention. Therefore, researchers have designed and synthesized various types of separation membrane, such as metal organic framework (MOF), covalent organic framework (COF), polymer of intrinsic micro-porosity (PIM) and mixed matrix membranes. Some substituted polyacetylenes have distorted structures and formed micropores due to the existence of rigid main chains and substituted side groups, which can be applied to the field of membrane separation. This article mainly introduces the development and application of substituted polyacetylenes in gas separation and liquid separation based on membrane technology.

Xanthomonas spp. encompass a wide range of phytopathogens that brings great economic losses to various crops. Rational use of pesticides is one of the effective means to control the diseases. Xinjunan (Dioctyldiethylenetriamine) is structurally unrelated to traditional bactericides, and is used to control fungal, bacterial, and viral diseases with their unknown mode of actions. Here, we found that Xinjunan had a specific high toxicity toward Xanthomonas spp., especially to the Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae ( Xoo ), the causal agent of rice bacterial leaf blight. Transmission electron microscope (TEM) confirmed its bactericidal effect by morphological changes, including cytoplasmic vacuolation and cell wall degradation. DNA synthesis was significantly inhibited, and the inhibitory effect enhanced with the increase of the chemical concentration. However, the synthesis of protein and EPS was not affected. RNA-seq revealed differentially expressed genes (DEGs) particularly enriched in iron uptake, which was subsequently confirmed by siderophore detection, intracellular Fe content and iron-uptake related genes transcriptional level. The laser confocal scanning microscopy and growth curve monitoring of the cell viability in response to different Fe condition proved that the Xinjunan activity relied on the addition of iron. Taken together, we speculated that Xinjunan exerted bactericidal effect by affecting cellular iron metabolism as a novel mode of action. IMPORTANCE Sustainable chemical control for rice bacterial leaf blight caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae need to be developed due to limited bactericides with high efficiency, low cost, and low toxicity in China. This present study verified a broad-spectrum fungicide named Xinjunan possessing a specific high toxicity to Xanthomonas pathogens, which were further confirmed by affecting the cellular iron metabolism of Xoo as a novel mode of action. These findings will contribute to the application of the compound in the field control of Xanthomonas spp.-caused diseases, and be directive for future development of novel specific drugs for the control of severe bacterial diseases based on this novel mode of action.

Poly(4-trimethylsilyl diphenyl acetylene) (PTMSDPA) has strong fluorescence emission, but its application is limited by the effect of aggregation-caused quenching (ACQ). Copolymerization is a commonly used method to adjust the properties of polymers. Through the copolymerization of 4-trimethylsilyl diphenyl acetylene and 1-trimethylsilyl-1-propyne (TMSP), we successfully realized the conversion of PTMSDPA from ACQ to aggregation-induced emission (AIE) and aggregation-induced emission enhancement (AEE). By controlling the monomer feeding ratio and with the increase of the content of TMSDPA inserted into the copolymer, the emission peak was red-shifted, and a series of copolymers of poly(TMSDPA- co -TMSP) that emit blue-purple to orange-red light was obtained, and the feasibility of the application in explosive detection was verified. With picric acid (PA) as a model explosive, a super-quenching process has been observed, and the quenching constant ( K SV ) calculated from the Stern-Volmer equation is 24,000 M -1 , which means that the polymer is potentially used for explosive detection.

A silicon waveguide with reverse-biased p-i-n junction is used to experimentally demonstrate all-optical regeneration of non-return-to-zero (NRZ) on-off keying (OOK) signal based on four-wave mixing. The silicon waveguide allows a high conversion efficiency of -12 dB. The 0.22 dB (1.1 dB) quality (Q) factor and 0.74 dB (6.3 dB) extinction ratio (ER) improvements on average are achieved for 100 Gb/s (50 Gb/s) NRZ OOK signal regeneration at different receiving powers via the optimal match between the input signal optical power and input-output transfer curve. To the best of our knowledge, this silicon-based all-optical regenerator exhibits superior regeneration performance, including large ER and Q factor improvements, and the highest regeneration speed of NRZ OOK signal, and it has wide applications in 5 G/6 G networks.

Objective: To analyze the molecular mechanisms of skeletal muscle cells apoptosis induced by heavy-load exercise with Omi as the entry point., Methods: One hundred and twenty-six adult SD rats were randomly divided into five groups: control group(C), eccentric exercise group (E), simple blocking group (U), DMSO group (D) and exercise block group (EU). In addition to the C group, the other four groups were randomly divided into 0 h after experiment, 12 h after experiment, 24 h after experiment, 48 h after experiment and 72 h after experiment with 6 rats in each group. E and EU group were submitted to a heavy-load exercise on a treadmill down a 16° decline, 16 m/min for 90 minutes. U, D and EU group were one-time intervened with drugs. U and EU groups were intraperitoneally injected with 1.5 μmol/kg ucf-101, D group were intraperitoneally injected with 1.5 μmoL/kg 0.5% DMSO. The rats were sacrificed in batches at different time points after experiment, then the soleus were saved to detect the Caspase-3,-8,-9,-12 activities and protein expressions of Omi and XIAP., Results: Compared with group C, the mitochondrial distribution and morphology appeared the typical ultrastructure pathological changes, the opening degree of MPTP was increased significantly ( P ＜0.01) or ( P ＜0.05), protein expressions of Omi and XIAP were increased significantly ( P ＜0.01 or P ＜0.05), the activities of Caspase-9 and Caspase-3 were increased significantly ( P ＜0.01 or P ＜0.05) in group E. Compared with group C, there was no significant difference in XIAP protein and caspase-9, - 3 activities in group U and Group D. The change trend of XIAP protein and Caspase-9, - 3 activities was the same as those between EU group and E group, but the change range of XIAP protein in EU group was significantly higher than that in E group ( P ＜0.01), and the change ranges of caspase-9, - 3 activities in EU group were significantly lower than those in E group ( P ＜0.01)., Conclusion: A single heavy-load exercise can induce changes in the mitochondria morphology and structure in rats, open the high permeability of MPTP, and improve the expression of Omi protein, then through its downstream XIAP-Caspase pathway, start the mitochondrial apoptosis pathway mediated by caspase-9, and finally lead to myocyte apoptosis. The inhibition of Omi can reduce the cell apoptosis level of motor induced skeletal muscle cells.

Objective: To investigate the effects of aerobic versus resistance exercise on soleus muscle contractile properties and the expressions of MuRF1, PGC-1α and FNDC5 in amyotrophic rats after unloading, and the possible molecular biological mechanisms. Methods: Male Wistar rats were randomly divided into recovery group (CT), aerobic exercise group (A), resistance exercise group (R) and control group (C), with 6 rats in each group. The control group did not receive any treatment. The other three groups underwent tail suspension for 2 weeks, and then the recovery group recovered quietly. The aerobic group and the resistance group underwent a 2-week exercise intervention. Exercise plan: the aerobic group rats were treated with treadmill speed corresponding to 65% maximum oxygen uptake (VO 2 max), 60 min/d, 5 d/w; the rats in the resistance group were allowed to climb the ladder with 65% of the maximum voluntary weight-bearing (MVCC) for 3 times, with a total of 5 sets. Each time had a rest of 1 min, with an interval of 2 min among sets, and 5 d/w. Fasting for 24 hours after the last exercise, the soleus muscle samples were collected to observe the histological changes, test the contractility, and detect MuRF1 and PGC-1α and FNDC5 expressions. Results: compared with the control group, the body weight, soleus muscle wet weight, average cross-sectional area of muscle fibers and muscle contractility of the recovery group were decreased significantly(P<0.01), and the expression of MuRF1 was increased significantly(P<0.01). Compared with the recovery group, the body weight, wet weight of soleus muscle, the average cross-sectional area of muscle fiber and muscle contractility of rats in aerobic group and resistance group were increased (P<0.01), the expression of PGC-1α/FNDC5 was increased (P<0.01) and the expression of MuRF1 was decreased significantly (P<0.01). Compared with the aerobic group, the expression of PGC-1α in soleus muscle of rats in the resistance group was increased (P<0.05), while the expression of MuRF1 was decreased (P<0.05). Conclusion: Aerobic and resistance exercise can significantly improve muscle contractility, upregulate the expression of PGC-1α/FNDC5, and inhibit the expression of MuRF1, indicating that the molecular mechanisms of aerobic and resistance exercise to improve unloaded muscular atrophy may be related to PGC-1α and MuRF1.

Although anti-thrombotic therapy has been successful for prevention of deaths from acute myocardial infarction (MI), by far, there are few preventive and therapeutic options for ischemic heart failure (IHF) after MI. Qi-Tai-Suan (QTS) is an oleanolic acid (OA) derivative which once underwent a clinical trial for treating hepatitis. In this study, we investigated the potential cardioprotective effect of QTS on IHF. IHF mouse model was constructed by coronary artery ligation in male C57BL/6J mice, and the protective effects of QTS on IHF were examined by echocardiography measurement, histological and TUNEL analysis, etc. We found that QTS exhibited promising cardioprotective effect on IHF. QTS treatment significantly improved cardiac function of IHF mice and the symptoms of heart failure. Notably, QTS had much better oral bioavailability (F = 41.91%) in mice than its parent drug OA, and took effects mainly as its original form. Mechanistically, QTS ameliorated ischemic heart failure likely through suppression of cardiac apoptosis, inflammation and fibrosis. The proposal of the aggregation-induced emission (AIE) effect shines a light on the practical application of luminescent materials. The AIE-active luminescence microgels (TPEC MGs) with photo-induced color-changing behavior were developed by integrating positively charged AIE luminogens (AIEgens) into the anionic network of microgels, where AIEgens of TPEC were obtained from the quaternization reaction between tetra-(4-pyridylphenyl)ethylene (TPE-4Py) and 7-(6-bromohexyloxy)-coumarin. The aqueous suspensions of TPEC MGs exhibit a significant AIE effect following the enhancement of quantum yield. In addition, further increase in fluorescence intensity and blueshift occur at elevated temperatures due to the collapse of microgels. The distinctive photochromic behavior of TPEC MGs was observed, which presents as the transition from orange-yellow to blue-green color under UV irradiation, which is different from TPEC in good organic solvents. The phenomenon of color changing can be ascribed to the competition between photodimerization of the coumarin part and photocyclization of TPE-4Py in TPEC. The photochromic TPEC MG aqueous suspensions can be conducted as aqueous microgel inks for information display, encryption, and dynamic anticounterfeiting.

Gentiana Radix is one of the most often used drugs in traditional Chinese medicine. Stir frying with yellow wine is the most common processing method. To clarify the principle of processing, an experiment was carried out to compare the tissue distribution of the typical constituent after oral administration of raw G. Radix and wine-processed one. To compare the tissues distribution of gentiopicroside oral administration of raw and wine-processed G. Radix, High-performance liquid chromatogram with ultraviolet detection was developed and validated for the determination of gentiopicroside in heart, liver, spleen, lung, kidney, stomach, small intestine and large intestine tissues. The gentiopicroside in raw and wine-processed G. Radix was distributed in all tissues involved in this study. Compared with the rats administration of raw G. Radix, the proportions of gentiopicroside in heart, liver and lung tissues increased in rats with administration of wine-processed one. The proportion of gentiopicroside in upper-JIAO and liver tissue can be increased by wine-processing.

Many marine organisms are exposed to decreasing O 2 levels due to warming-induced expansion of hypoxic zones and ocean deoxygenation (DeO 2 ). Nevertheless, effects of DeO 2 on phytoplankton have been neglected due to technical bottlenecks on examining O 2 effects on O 2 -producing organisms. Here we show that lowered O 2 levels increased primary productivity of a coastal phytoplankton assemblage, and enhanced photosynthesis and growth in the coastal diatom Thalassiosira weissflogii. Mechanistically, reduced O 2 suppressed mitochondrial respiration and photorespiration of T. weissflogii, but increased the efficiency of their CO 2 concentrating mechanisms (CCMs), effective quantum yield and improved light use efficiency, which was apparent under both ambient and elevated CO 2 concentrations leading to ocean acidification (OA). While the elevated CO 2 treatment partially counteracted the effect of low O 2 in terms of CCMs activity, reduced levels of O 2 still strongly enhanced phytoplankton primary productivity. This implies that decreased availability of O 2 with progressive DeO 2 could boost re-oxygenation by diatom-dominated phytoplankton communities, especially in hypoxic areas, with potentially profound consequences for marine ecosystem services in coastal and pelagic oceans., (© 2022. Pomegranate crown rot caused by Coniella granati is one of the most severe diseases of pomegranate. No fungicides have been registered for controlling this disease in China. Pyraclostrobin, belonging to strobilurin fungicides, has a broad spectrum of activity against many phytopathogens. In this study, based on the mycelial growth and conidial germination inhibition methods, we investigated the biological activity of pyraclostrobin against C. granati in the presence of 50 μg/ml of salicylhydroxamic acid using 80 isolates collected from different orchards in China from 2012 to 2018. The EC 50 (50% effective concentration) values ranged from 0.040 to 0.613 μg/ml for mycelial growth and 0.013 to 0.110 μg/ml for conidium germination. Treated with pyraclostrobin, the hyphae morphology changed and conidial production of C. granati decreased significantly. The result of transmission electron microscope showed that treatment of pyraclostrobin could make the cell wall thinner and lead to ruptured cell membrane and formation of intracellular organelle autophagosomes. The pyraclostrobin showed good protective and curative activities against C. granati on detached pomegranate fruits. In field trials, pyraclostrobin showed excellent control efficacy against this disease, in which the treatment of 25% pyraclostrobin EC 1,000× provided 92.25 and 92.58% control efficacy in 2019 and 2020, respectively, significantly higher than that of other treatments. Therefore, pyraclostrobin could be a candidate fungicide for the control of pomegranate crown rot.

Microwave photonic filters (MPFs) with only one ultra-narrow passband are able to provide high frequency selectivity and wide spectral range, and they are of great importance in radio-frequency (RF) signal processing. However, currently all MPFs are limited by trade-offs between key parameters such as spectral resolution and range, tunability, and stability. Here, we report the first demonstration of a single passband MPF with unprecedented performance including ultrahigh spectral resolution of 650 kHz, 0-40 GHz spectral range, and high stability of center frequency drifting within ±50 kHz. This record performance is accomplished by breaking the amplitude equality of a phase-modulated signal via a Brillouin dynamic grating (BDG) which has an ultra-narrow reflection spectrum of sub-MHz. The results point to new ways of creating high performance microwave photonic systems, such as satellite and mobile communications, radars, and remote-sensing systems.

Botryosphaeria dothidea is one of the most important diseases which can cause poplar canker. In our previous study, the endophytic Bacillus subtilis N6-34 screened from poplar tissue was found to be an antagonistic strain against B. dothidea. In order to ascertain the colonization rule of B. subtilis N6-34 in poplar plants, colonization of B. subtilis N6-34 labeled with a green fluorescent protein (GFP) was investigated in poplar plants and the rhizosphere soil. To confirm the inhibitory effect of the strain N6-34 on pathogenic fungi, real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR experiment with Fusarium oxysporum as the target strain was carried out. Firstly, a plasmid (pHT01-P43GFPmut3a) containing gfp gene was successfully transformed into wild B. subtilis N6-34, which has the similar characteristics with the strain N6-34 in cell growth and antifungal activity. The poplar pot experiments were carried out to examine the colonization rules and colonization quantity in poplar plants and rhizosphere soil. Observation with a confocal laser scanning microscope showed that GFP-labeled B. subtilis N6-34 (N6-34-GFP) could colonize in primary root, lateral root and adventitious root. With the extension of inoculation time, the colonization quantity of N6-34-GFP in the rhizosphere soil and poplar plants showed a trend of first increasing, then stabilizing for a period of time and then decreasing. The real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR result showed a gradual decrease in the number of F. oxysporum with increasing inoculation time. Therefore, N6-34-GFP exhibited colonization in the rhizosphere soil and different parts of poplar plants. In addition, the strain N6-34 could inhibit the growth of pathogenic fungi. The ability of B. subtilis N6-34 to colonize in the rhizosphere soil and poplar plants and to inhibit fungal growth in vitro suggest a potential application of this strain as a biological control agent., (© 2021. Background: Glioma is the most common primary intracranial tumor and is associated with poor prognosis. Identifying effective biomarkers for glioma is particularly important. MXRA5, a secreted glycoprotein, is involved in cell adhesion and extracellular matrix remodeling and has been reported to be expressed in many cancers. However, the role and mechanism of action of MXRA5 in gliomas remain unclear. This study was aimed at investigating the role of MXRA5 at the transcriptome level and its clinical prognostic value., Methods: In this study, RNA microarray data of 301 glioma patients from the Chinese Glioma Genome Atlas (CGGA) were collected as a training cohort and RNA-seq data of 702 glioma samples from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) were used for validation. We analyzed the clinical and molecular characteristics as well as the prognostic value of MXRA5 in glioma. In addition, the expression level of MXRA was evaluated in 28 glioma tissue samples., Results: We found that MXRA5 expression was significantly upregulated in high-grade gliomas and IDH wild-type gliomas compared to controls. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis showed that MXRA5 is a potential marker of the mesenchymal subtype of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). We found that MXRA5 expression is highly correlated with immune checkpoint molecule expression levels and tumor-associated macrophage infiltration. High MXRA5 expression could be used as an independent indicator of poor prognosis in glioma patients., Conclusion: Our study suggests that MXRA5 expression is associated with the clinicopathologic features and poor prognosis of gliomas. MXRA5 may play an important role in the immunosuppressive microenvironment of glioma. Sulfur, which is generated from the waste byproducts in the oil and gas refinery industry, is an abundant, cheap, stable, and readily available source in the world. However, the utilization of excessive amounts of sulfur is mostly limited, and developing novel methods for sulfur conversion is still a global concern. Here, we report a facile one-step conversion from elemental sulfur to functional poly( O -thiocarbamate)s through a multicomponent polymerization of sulfur, diols, and diisocyanides, which possesses a series of advantages such as mild condition (55 °C), short reaction time (1 h), 100% atom economy, and transition-metal free in the catalyst system. Seven poly( O -thiocarbamate)s are constructed with high yields (up to 95%), large molecular weight (up to 53100 of M w ), good solubility in organic solvents, and completely new polymer structures. The poly( O -thiocarbamate)s possess a high refractive index above 1.7 from 600 to 1700 nm by adjusting the sulfur content. By incorporating tetraphenylethene (TPE) moieties into the polymer structure, the poly( O -thiocarbamate)s can also be designed as fluorescent sensors to detect harmful metal cation of Hg 2+ in a turn-on mode with high sensitivity (LOD = 32 nM) and excellent selectivity (over interference cations of Pb 2+ , Au 3+ , Ag + ). Different from the previous reports, the exact coordination structure is first identified by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, which is revealed in a tetracoordination fashion (two sulfur and two chloride) using a model coordination compound.

Magnetic tunnel junctions operating in the superparamagnetic regime are promising devices in the field of probabilistic computing, which is suitable for applications like high-dimensional optimization or sampling problems. Further, random number generation is of interest in the field of cryptography. For such applications, a device's uncorrelated fluctuation time-scale can determine the effective system speed. It has been theoretically proposed that a magnetic tunnel junction designed to have only easy-plane anisotropy provides fluctuation rates determined by its easy-plane anisotropy field and can perform on a nanosecond or faster time-scale as measured by its magnetoresistance's autocorrelation in time. Here, we provide experimental evidence of nanosecond scale fluctuations in a circular-shaped easy-plane magnetic tunnel junction, consistent with finite-temperature coupled macrospin simulation results and prior theoretical expectations. We further assess the degree of stochasticity of such a signal.

Luminogens with aggregation-induced emission (AIEgens) have been widely applied in the field of photodynamic therapy. Among them, aggregation-induced emission photosensitizers (AIE-PSs) are demonstrated with high capability in fluorescence and photoacoustic bimodal imaging, as well as in fluorescence imaging-guided photodynamic therapy. They not only improve diagnosis accuracy but also provide an efficient theranostic platform to accelerate preclinical translation as well. In this short review, we divide AIE-PSs into three categories. Through the analysis of such classification and construction methods, it will be helpful for scientists to further develop various types of AIE-PSs with superior performance.

The Harzianum clade of Trichoderma comprises many species, which are associated with a wide variety of substrates. In this study, four new species of Trichoderma , namely T. lentinulae , T. vermifimicola , T. xixiacum , and T. zelobreve , were encountered from a fruiting body and compost of Lentinula , soil, and vermicompost. Their colony and mycelial morphology, including features of asexual states, were described. For each species, their DNA sequences were obtained from three loci, the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) regions of the ribosomal DNA, the gene encoding the second largest nuclear RNA polymerase subunit (RPB2), the translation elongation factor 1-α encoding gene (TEF1-α). The analysis combining sequences of the three gene regions distinguished four new species in the Harzianum clade of Trichoderma . Among them, T. lentinulae and T. xixiacum clustered with T. lixii , from which these new species differ in having shorter phialides and smaller conidia. Additionally, T. lentinulae differs from T. xixiacum in forming phialides with inequilateral to a strongly-curved apex, cultural characteristics, and slow growth on PDA. Trichoderma vermifimicola is closely related to T. simmonsii , but it differs from the latter by producing phialides in verticillate whorls and smaller conidia. Trichoderma zelobreve is the sister species of T. breve but is distinguished from T. breve by producing shorter and narrower phialides, smaller conidia, and by forming concentric zones on agar plates. Inflammation-modulating nutrients and inflammatory markers are established cancer risk factors, however, evidence regarding the association between post-diagnosis diet-associated inflammation and breast cancer survival is relatively sparse. We aimed to examine the association between post-diagnosis dietary inflammatory index (DII®) and risks of all-cause and breast cancer-specific mortality. A total of 1064 female breast cancer survivors in the Prostate, Lung, Colorectal, and Ovarian Cancer Screening (PLCO) Trial prospective cohort, were included in this analysis if they had completed the diet history questionnaire (DHQ). Energy-adjusted DII (E-DII TM ) scores were calculated based on food and supplement intake. Cox regression and competing risk models were used to estimate multivariable-adjusted hazards ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs) by E-DII tertile (T) for all-cause and breast cancer-specific mortality. With median follow-up of 14.6 years, there were 296 (27.8%) deaths from all causes and 100 (9.4%) breast cancer-specific death. The E-DII was associated with all-cause mortality (HR T3 vs T1, 1.34; 95% CI, 1.01-1.81; P trend , 0.049, Table 2) and breast cancer mortality (HR T3 vs T1, 1.47; 95% CI, 0.89-2.43; P trend , 0.13; multivariable-adjusted HR for 1-unit increment: 1.10; 95% CI: 1.00-1.22). Non-linear positive dose-response associations with mortality from all causes were identified for E-DII scores ( P non-linearity  < 0.05). The post-diagnosis E-DII was statistically significantly associated with mortality risk among breast cancer survivors. Sugars are abundant natural sources existing in biological systems, and bioactive saccharides have attracted much more attention in the field of biochemistry and biomaterials. For better understanding of the sugar-based biomaterials and biological sciences, aggregation-induced emission luminogens (AIE-gens) have been widely employed for detection, tracing, and imaging. This review covers the applications of AIE molecules on sugar-based biomaterials by three parts, polysaccharide, oligosaccharide, and monosaccharide, mainly focusing on saccharide detection, stimuli response materials preparation, bioimaging, and study of the AIE mechanism. These excellent works suggest the promising future of the sugar-based AIE bioconjugates, considering that the naturally designed and elaborately functionalized saccharides play discriminate roles in biological processes and AIE-tagged species may work as an indicator in each case. However, there are a lot of sugar-based biological species that have not been touched, such as mucopolysaccharides and glycoproteins on the cell surface and in the cell plasma. Based on these features, we enthusiastically look forward to more glorious developments in this bright research area.

An important goal of spintronics is to covert a charge current into a spin current with a controlled spin polarization that can exert torques on an adjacent magnetic layer. Here we demonstrate such torques in a two ferromagnet system. A CoNi multilayer is used as a spin current source in a sample with structure CoNi/Au/CoFeB. Spin torque ferromagnetic resonance is used to measure the torque on the CoFeB layer. The response as a function of the applied field angle and current is consistent with the symmetry expected for a torque produced by the planar Hall effect originating in CoNi. We find the strength of this effect to be comparable to that of the spin Hall effect in platinum, indicating that the planar Hall effect holds potential as a spin current source with a controllable polarization direction.

Background: Brain metastases significantly reduce the survival of cancer patients. However, detailed researches on the clinical manifestations and prognoses of patients with brain metastases are lacking. The aim of this study was to investigate the clinical features and prognostic factors of cancer patients with brain metastases., Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on patients with brain metastases who were treated in our hospital between January 2014 and January 2019. Comparison of overall survival (OS) was performed by the Kaplan-Meier method. Multivariate Cox regression models was used to identify prognostic factors for OS., Results: A total of 190 patients with complete data and Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status (ECOG PS) 0-2 were enrolled. Patients with brain metastases from different primary sites had significantly different survival time (P=0.001). Patients who had a longer survival time included female patients (47.4%) (34 vs. 19 months, P=0.002), those with age <65 years (63.7%) (29 vs. 18 months, P=0.002), with ECOG 0 or 1 (44.2%) (32 vs. 21 months, P=0.005), with ≤3 brain lesions (61.1%) (29 vs. 20 months, P=0.041), and with small molecular targeted therapy (48.4%) (21 vs. 18 months, P=0.006). Furthermore, multivariate analysis revealed that female, age <65 years, ≤3 brain lesions, small molecular targeted therapy were independent favorable prognostic factors of OS., Conclusions: Female, younger patients with ≤3 brain metastases predicted a better survival. To evaluate the qualitative image quality and quantitative apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) value of reduced field-of view (rFOV) and full field-of-view (fFOV) diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) sequences at 3.0 T in patients with gastric cancer.Fifty-three patients (37 males, 16 females; mean age, 63.3 ± 10.3 years) with 60 lesions with gastric cancer who underwent magnetic resonance (MR) scans, including both rFOV-DWI and fFOV-DWI, were retrospectively analyzed. Two observers subjectively evaluated image quality for both the fFOV-DWI and rFOV-DWI sequences regarding the anatomic details, distortion, lesion conspicuity, artifacts, and overall image quality. The mean ADC values of gastric cancer were calculated. The Wilcoxon test and paired samples t test were used. Interobserver agreement was assessed using kappa statistics.The mean scores based on the 2 observers demonstrated significant differences in image quality in terms of anatomic details, distortion, lesion conspicuity, artifacts and overall image quality at both b values between rFOV-DWI and fFOV-DWI (P < .05) in the whole gastric area. rFOV-DWI yielded significantly better scores in image quality at b = 800 seconds/mm (P < .05) in patients with esophagogastric junction cancers, but there were no significant differences in the gastric corpus and gastric antrum region. The mean tumor ADC values of rFOV-DWI were significantly lower than those of fFOV-DWI (1.237 ± 0.228 × 10-3 mm/second vs 1.683 ± 0.322 × 10-3 mm/second, P < .001).rFOV-DWI yielded significantly better image quality (anatomic details, distortion, lesion conspicuity, artifacts, overall image quality) and more accurate ADC measurements than fFOV-DWI did.

Organic fluorescent dyes with excellent self-delivery to living cells are always difficult to find due to the limitation of the plasma membrane having rigorous selectivity. Herein, in order to improve the permeability of dyes, we utilize a side-chain engineering strategy (SCES): adjusting the side-chain length of dyes to fine-tune the adsorption and desorption processes on the membrane-aqueous phase interfaces of the outer and inner leaflets of the plasma membrane. For this, a family of fluorescent derivatives ( SPs ) was prepared by functionalizing a styryl-pyridinium fluorophore with alkyl side-chains containing a different carbon number from 1 to 22. Systematic experimental investigations and simulated calculations demonstrate that the self-delivery rate of SPs with a suitable length side-chain is about 22-fold higher in SiHa cells and 76-fold higher in mesenchymal stem cells than that of unmodified SP-1 , enabling cell-imaging at an ultralow loading concentration of 1 nM and deep penetration in turbid tissue and in vivo . Moreover, the SCES can even endow a membrane-impermeable fluorescent scaffold with good permeability. Further, quantitative research on the relationship between Clog  P and cell permeability shows that when Clog  P is in the range of 1.3-2.5, dyes possess optimal permeability. Therefore, this work not only systematically reports the effect of side-chain length on dye delivery for the first time, but also provides some ideal fluorescent probes. At the same time, it gives a suitable Clog  P range for efficient cellular delivery, which can serve as a guide for designing cell-permeant dyes. A series of new coumarin/1,2,4-oxadiazole hybrids were synthesized and evaluated for cholinesterase inhibitory and neuroprotective activities. Among them, enantiomers 5u and 5v showed potent hBChE inhibitory activity with IC 50 values of 8.17 and 9.56 μM, respectively, and also exhibited good selectivity for hBChE over hAChE by 9.49- and 7.58-fold, respectively. In addition, both compounds could protect SH-SY5Y cells against Aβ 25-35 -induced neurotoxicity. The preliminary bioassay results provided a new chemotype for multifunctional anti-Alzheimer's disease agents and continuing investigation into compounds 5u and 5v is warranted.

Four pyrene-functionalized polyacetylenes were designed and prepared through a typical post-polymerization modification route, which is the highly efficient reaction between activated ester and primary anime groups. The chemical structures of the resultant polymers were characterized with multiple spectroscopic techniques and the data indicated the successful functionalization of the polyacetylenes. The introduction of the pyrene moieties into the polymer structure allowed us to investigate the interactions between the polymer backbone and side chains. For the mono-substituted polyacetylenes, both the monomer and excimer emission features of the pyrene groups could be recorded, while for the di-substituted polyacetylenes, the fluorescence from the pyrene excimer vanished and the fluorescence intensity from the pyrene monomer decreased, the fluorescence from the polymer chain predominated the emission features. The concomitant energy transfer from the pyrene monomer and excimer to poly(diphenylacetylene) backbone was associated with the underlying mechanism. In addition to the substitution modes, the linkage between the poly(diphenylacetylene) backbone and the pyrene moiety also played a significant role in the determination of the emission species. A long alkyl spacer was beneficial to the pyrene monomer emission while a short one may be helpful to the formation of the excimer and intramolecular energy transfer.

Nickel-catalyzed cycloaddition of alkynes and 2-sulfobenzoic anhydrides gives highly functionalized thiochromenones. The reaction undergoes a deoxygenative rather than decarbonylative pathway and shows advantages of an excellent isolated yield (up to 95%), high reaction efficiency, and high regioselectivity. As one of the resulted products, 2,3-di(triphenylamine)-thiolchromenone possesses a typical aggregation-induced emission property and emits efficient near-infrared fluorescence.

The Hi-C experiment can capture the genome-wide spatial proximities of the DNA, based on which it is possible to computationally reconstruct the three-dimensional (3D) structures of chromosomes. The transcripts of the long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) Xist spread throughout the entire X-chromosome and alter the 3D structure of the X-chromosome, which also inactivates one copy of the two X-chromosomes in a cell. The Hi-C experiments are expensive and time-consuming to conduct, but the Hi-C data of the active and inactive X-chromosomes are available. However, the Hi-C data of the X-chromosome during the process of X-chromosome inactivation (XCI) are not available. Therefore, the 3D structure of the X-chromosome during the process of X-chromosome inactivation (XCI) remains to be unknown. We have developed a new approach to reconstruct the 3D structure of the X-chromosome during XCI, in which the chain of DNA beads representing a chromosome is stored and simulated inside a 3D cubic lattice. A 2D Gaussian function is used to model the zero values in the 2D Hi-C contact matrices. By applying simulated annealing and Metropolis-Hastings simulations, we first generated the 3D structures of the X-chromosome before and after XCI. Then, we used Xist localization intensities on the X-chromosome (RAP data) to model the traveling speeds or acceleration between all bead pairs during the process of XCI. The 3D structures of the X-chromosome at 3 hours, 6 hours, and 24 hours after the start of the Xist expression, which initiates the XCI process, have been reconstructed. In the present work, Fe 3 O 4 nanoparticles with superparamagnetic properties were prepared and capped by using Chitosan. The synthesized NPs were studied by using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. Average particle size and surface charge of the synthesized NPs were characterized by using Malvern Zetasizer instrument. TEM images showed the morphology and size distribution of uncoated Fe 3 O 4 NPs, exhibiting the uniform sized NPS with an average particle size of about 10 nm. Vibrating Scanning Magnetometry (VSM) experiments, showed the superparamagnetic nature of the prepared nanoparticles. Fe 3 O 4 NPs showed ferromagnetic magnetization which is very sensitive towards the sample's nanostructure. The results of paramagnetic studies exhibited the substantial reduction in paramagnetic behavior after Chitosan coating but sufficient for responding in magnetic field. Further, the in-vitro ability of the Chitosan coated Fe 3 O 4 NPs as contrast agents in efficient Ultra sound/Magnetic resonance (US/MR) imaging was investigated. These findings demonstrated that the Chitosan coated super para magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPION) have reported significant contrast-enhanced imaging potential for dual-mode US/MR imaging.
