Background and aims The immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME) plays an essential role in cancer progression and immunotherapy response. Despite the considerable advancements in cancer immunotherapy, the limited response to immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) therapies in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains a major challenge for its clinical implications. Here, we investigated the molecular basis of the protein O-fucosyltransferase 1 (POFUT1) that drives HCC immune evasion and explored a potential therapeutic strategy for enhancing ICB efficacy.Methods De novo MYC/Trp53−/− liver tumor and the xenograft tumor models were used to evaluate the function of POFUT1 in immune evasion. Biochemical assays were performed to elucidate the underlying mechanism of POFUT1-mediated immune evasion.Results We identified POFUT1 as a crucial promoter of immune evasion in liver cancer. Notably, POFUT1 promoted HCC progression and inhibited T-cell infiltration in the xenograft tumor and de novo MYC/Trp53−/− mouse liver tumor models. Mechanistically, we demonstrated that POFUT1 stabilized programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1) protein by preventing tripartite motif containing 21-mediated PD-L1 ubiquitination and degradation independently of its protein-O-fucosyltransferase activity. In addition, we further demonstrated that PD-L1 was required for the tumor-promoting and immune evasion effects of POFUT1 in HCC. Importantly, inhibition of POFUT1 could synergize with anti-programmed death receptor 1 therapy by remodeling TME in the xenograft tumor mouse model. Clinically, POFUT1 high expression displayed a lower response rate and worse clinical outcome to ICB therapies.Conclusions Our findings demonstrate that POFUT1 functions as a novel regulator of tumor immune evasion and inhibition of POFUT1 may be a potential therapeutic strategy to enhance the efficacy of immune therapy in HCC.

Aldehydes are the strongest and most abundant aromatic compounds in Kung Pao Chicken. However, the perceptual interactions between these aldehydes are not fully understood. Therefore, the flavor contribution of nine key aldehydes was estimated by determining thresholds. Except for benzaldehyde, the thresholds of all aldehydes measured in tasteless chicken matrices (TM) were significantly larger than their comparable values in water. Based on these results, the perceptual interactions of nine aldehydes were evaluated using S-curves and σ-τ plots. The interactions indicated that 31 of their 36 binary mixtures exhibited additive effects, three had masking effects, while two had synergistic effects. Recombination experiments showed that the addition of aldehydes lowered the odor threshold of aldehyde reconstitution (AR), thereby enhancing the aroma intensity of AR. These findings contribute to a better understanding of Kung Pao Chicken's aroma and can be used to improve its aroma quality.

Abstract Acute lung injury (ALI) is a severe respiratory disease with a high mortality rate. The integrity of the pulmonary endothelial barrier influences the development and prognosis of ALI. Therefore, it has become an important target for ALI treatment. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are promising nanotherapeutic agents against ALI. Herein, endothelium‐derived engineered extracellular vesicles (eEVs) that deliver microRNA‐125b‐5p (miRNA‐125b) to lung tissues exerting a protective effect on endothelial barrier integrity are reported. eEVs that are modified with lung microvascular endothelial cell‐targeting peptides (LET) exhibit a prolonged retention time in lung tissues and targeted lung microvascular endothelial cells in vivo and in vitro. To improve the efficacy of the EVs, miRNA‐125b is loaded into EVs. Finally, LET‐EVs‐miRNA‐125b is constructed. The results show that compared to the EVs, miRNA‐125b, and EVs‐miRNA‐125b, LET‐EVs‐miRNA‐125b exhibit the most significant treatment efficacy in ALI. Moreover, LET‐EVs‐miRNA‐125b is found to have an important protective effect on endothelial barrier integrity by inhibiting cell apoptosis, promoting angiogenesis, and protecting intercellular junctions. Sequencing analysis reveals that LET‐EVs‐miRNA‐125b downregulates early growth response‐1 (EGR1) levels, which may be a potential mechanism of action. Taken together, these findings suggest that LET‐EVs‐miRNA‐125b can treat ALI by protecting the endothelial barrier integrity.

Abstract Purpose The claudin 18.2 (CLDN18.2) antigen is frequently expressed in malignant tumors, including pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Although CLDN18.2-targeted CAR-T cells demonstrated some therapeutic efficacy in PDAC patients, further improvement is needed. One of the major obstacles might be the abundant cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) in the PDAC tumor microenvironment (TME). Targeting fibroblast activation protein (FAP), a vital characteristic of CAFs provides a potential way to overcome this obstacle. In this study, we explored the combined antitumor activity of FAP-targeted and CLDN18.2-targeted CAR-T cells against PDAC. Methods Novel FAP-targeted CAR-T cells were developed. Sequential treatment of FAP-targeted and CLDN18.2-targeted CAR-T cells as well as the corresponding mechanism were explored in immunocompetent mouse models of PDAC. Results The results indicated that the priorly FAP-targeted CAR-T cells infusion could significantly eliminate CAFs and enhance the anti-PDAC efficacy of subsequently CLDN18.2-targeted CAR-T cells in vivo. Interestingly, we observed that FAP-targeted CAR-T cells could suppress the recruitment of myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) and promote the survival of CD8+ T cells and CAR-T cells in tumor tissue. Conclusion In summary, our finding demonstrated that FAP-targeted CAR-T cells could increase the antitumor activities of sequential CAR-T therapy via remodeling TME, at least partially through inhibiting MDSCs recruitment. Sequential infusion of FAP-targeted and CLDN18.2-targeted CAR-T cells might be a feasible approach to enhance the clinical outcome of PDAC.

Abstract Background Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the major causes of death from cancer and has a very poor prognosis with few effective therapeutic options. Despite the approval of lenvatinib for the treatment of patients suffering from advanced HCC, only a small number of patients can benefit from this targeted therapy. Methods Diethylnitrosamine (DEN)‐CCL4 mouse liver tumour and the xenograft tumour models were used to evaluate the function of KDM6A in HCC progression. The xenograft tumour model and HCC cell lines were used to evaluate the role of KDM6A in HCC drug sensitivity to lenvatinib. RNA‐seq and ChIP assays were conducted for mechanical investigation. Results We revealed that KDM6A exhibited a significant upregulation in HCC tissues and was associated with an unfavourable prognosis. We further demonstrated that KDM6A knockdown remarkably suppressed HCC cell proliferation and migration in vitro. Moreover, hepatic Kdm6a loss also inhibited liver tumourigenesis in a mouse liver tumour model. Mechanistically, KDM6A loss downregulated the FGFR4 expression to suppress the PI3K–AKT–mTOR signalling pathway, leading to a glucose and lipid metabolism re‐programming in HCC. KDM6A and FGFR4 levels were positively correlated in HCC specimens and mouse liver tumour tissues. Notably, KDM6A knockdown significantly inhibited the efficacy of lenvatinib therapy in HCC cells in vitro and in vivo. Conclusions Our findings revealed that KDM6A promoted HCC progression by activating FGFR4 expression and may be an essential molecule for influencing the efficacy of lenvatinib in HCC therapy.

Unreasonable fertilization often fails to match crop yield and nutrient requirements, leading to low crop yield, the waste of mineral resources, and increased costs for farmers. A survey of the potato yield and fertilization of farmers was conducted in Haidong City of Qinghai Province for three consecutive years (2017–2019) torecommend reasonable fertilizer application. The results showed that the required amount of NPK fertilizer per ton of potato was 4.85 kg N, 1.26 kg P2O5, and 6.98 kg K2O, respectively. The potato yields ranged from 7500 to 66,429 kg ha−1, with an average of 26,069 kg ha−1. The average N, P, and Kfertilizers (in the form of N, P2O5, and K2O, respectively) applied by the farmers were 213 kg N ha−1, 202 kg P2O5ha−1, and 43 kg K2O ha−1. More than 60% of the farmers appliedtoo much Nand Pfertilizers and too little Kfertilizer. Therefore, the farmers with lowyieldsshould reduce the application of Nand P fertilizers by a range of 41–220 kg ha−1 and 24–265 kg ha−1. Allthe farmers should increase Kfertilizer use by 7–273 kg ha−1. Reasonable fertilization could effectively conserve resources, improve economic efficiency, and reduce environmental impact.

The entry of SARS-CoV-2 into host cells is mediated by the interaction between the spike receptor-binding domain (RBD) and host angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2). Certain human antibodies, which target the spike N-terminal domain (NTD) at a distant epitope from the host cell binding surface, have been found to augment ACE2 binding and enhance SARS-CoV-2 infection. Notably, these antibodies exert their effect independently of the antibody fragment crystallizable (Fc) region, distinguishing their mode of action from previously described antibody-dependent infection-enhancing (ADE) mechanisms. Building upon previous hypotheses and experimental evidence, we propose that these NTD-targeting infection-enhancing antibodies (NIEAs) achieve their effect through the crosslinking of neighboring spike proteins. In this study, we present refined structural models of NIEA fragment antigen-binding region (Fab)–NTD complexes, supported by molecular dynamics simulations and hydrogen–deuterium exchange mass spectrometry (HDX-MS). Furthermore, we provide direct evidence confirming the crosslinking of spike NTDs by NIEAs. Collectively, our findings advance our understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying NIEAs and their impact on SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Prestack reverse-time migration (RTM) is a popular imaging technique for complex geological conditions, since the amplitude attenuation and velocity dispersion are common in seismic recordings. To image attenuated seismic recordings accurately, a robust migration algorithm with a stable attenuation compensation approach should be considered. In the context of the Q-compensated RTM approach based on the decoupled fractional Laplacians (DFLs) viscoacoustic wave equation, amplitude compensation can be implemented by flipping the sign of the dissipation term. However, the non-physical magnification of image amplitude could lead to a well-known numerical instability problem. The explicit stabilization operator can rectify the amplitude attenuation and suppress the numerical instability. However, limited by the inconvenient mixed-domain operator, the average Q value rather than the real Q value is often used in the compensation operator, lowering the compensated accuracy of the migration image. To overcome this problem, we propose a novel explicit Q-compensation scheme. The main advantage of the proposed compensation operator is that its order is space-invariant, making it more suitable for handling complex heterogeneous attenuation media. Several two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) synthetic models are used to verify the superiority of the proposed approach in terms of amplitude fidelity and image resolution. Field data further demonstrates that our approach has potential applications and can greatly enhance the resolution of seismic images.

To assess the frequency of SARS-CoV-2 infection in the general population, we searched over 64 million heavy chain antibody sequences from healthy unvaccinated, healthy BNT162b2 vaccinated and COVID-19 patient repertoires for sequences similar to 11 previously reported enhancing antibodies. Although the distribution of sequence identities was similar in all three groups of repertoires, the COVID-19 and healthy vaccinated hits were significantly more clonally expanded than healthy unvaccinated hits. Furthermore, among the tested hits, 17 out of 94 from COVID-19 and 9 out of 59 from healthy vaccinated, compared with only 2 out of 96 from healthy unvaccinated, bound to the enhancing epitope. A total of 9 of the 28 epitope-binding antibodies enhanced ACE2 receptor binding to the spike protein. Together, this study revealed that infection enhancing-like antibodies are far more frequent in COVID-19 patients or healthy vaccinated donors than in healthy unvaccinated donors, but a reservoir of potential enhancing antibodies exists in healthy donors that could potentially mature to actual enhancing antibodies upon infection.

Mpox virus (MPXV), the most pathogenic zoonotic orthopoxvirus, caused worldwide concern during the SARS-CoV-2 epidemic. Growing evidence suggests that the MPXV surface protein A29 could be a specific diagnostic marker for immunological detection. In this study, a fully synthetic phage display library was screened, revealing two nanobodies (A1 and H8) that specifically recognize A29. Subsequently, an in vitro affinity maturation strategy based on computer-aided design was proposed by building and docking the A29 and A1 three-dimensional structures. Ligand-receptor binding and molecular dynamics simulations were performed to predict binding modes and key residues. Three mutant antibodies were predicted using the platform, increasing the affinity by approximately 10-fold compared with the parental form. These results will facilitate the application of computers in antibody optimization and reduce the cost of antibody development; moreover, the predicted antibodies provide a reference for establishing an immunological response against MPXV.

B cell receptors (BCRs) and T cell receptors (TCRs) make up an essential network of defense molecules that, collectively, can distinguish self from non-self and facilitate destruction of antigen-bearing cells such as pathogens or tumors. The analysis of BCR and TCR repertoires plays an important role in both basic immunology as well as in biotechnology. Because the repertoires are highly diverse, specialized software methods are needed to extract meaningful information from BCR and TCR sequence data. Here, we review recent developments in bioinformatics tools for analysis of BCR and TCR repertoires, with an emphasis on those that incorporate structural features. After describing the recent sequencing technologies for immune receptor repertoires, we survey structural modeling methods for BCR and TCRs, along with methods for clustering such models. We review downstream analyses, including BCR and TCR epitope prediction, antibody-antigen docking and TCR-peptide-MHC Modeling. We also briefly discuss molecular dynamics in this context.

The SARS-CoV-2 S protein is a major point of interaction between the virus and the human immune system. As a consequence, the S protein is not a static target but undergoes rapid molecular evolution. In order to more fully understand the selection pressure during evolution, we examined residue positions in the S protein that vary greatly across closely related viruses but are conserved in the subset of viruses that infect humans. These “evolutionarily important” residues were not distributed evenly across the S protein but were concentrated in two domains: the N-terminal domain and the receptor-binding domain, both of which play a role in host cell binding in a number of related viruses. In addition to being localized in these two domains, evolutionary importance correlated with structural flexibility and inversely correlated with distance from known or predicted host receptor-binding residues. Finally, we observed a bias in the composition of the amino acids that make up such residues toward more human-like, rather than virus-like, sequence motifs.

One of the determinants for tissue tropism of hepatitis C virus (HCV) is miR-122, a liver-specific microRNA. Recently, it has been reported that interaction of miR-122 to HCV RNA induces a conformational change of the 5'UTR internal ribosome entry site (IRES) structure to form stem-loop II structure (SLII) and hijack of translating 80S ribosome through the binding of SLIII to 40S subunit, which leads to efficient translation. On the other hand, low levels of HCV-RNA replication have also been detected in some non-hepatic cells; however, the details of extrahepatic replication remain unknown. These observations suggest the possibility that miRNAs other than miR-122 can support efficient replication of HCV-RNA in non-hepatic cells. Here, we identified a number of such miRNAs and show that they could be divided into two groups: those that bind HCV-RNA at two locations (miR-122 binding sites I and II), in a manner similar to miR-122 (miR-122-like), and those that target a single site that bridges sites I and II and masking both G28 and C29 in the 5'UTR (non-miR-122-like). Although the enhancing activity of these non-hepatic miRNAs were lower than those of miR-122, substantial expression was detected in various normal tissues. Furthermore, structural modeling indicated that both miR-122-like and non-miR-122-like miRNAs not only can facilitate the formation of an HCV IRES SLII but also can stabilize IRES 3D structure in order to facilitate binding of SLIII to the ribosome. Together, these results suggest that HCV facilitates miR-122-independent replication in non-hepatic cells through recruitment of miRNAs other than miR-122. And our findings can provide a more detailed mechanism of miR-122-dependent enhancement of HCV-RNA translation by focusing on IRES tertiary structure.

APOBEC3G (A3G) is a cellular protein that inhibits HIV-1 infection through virion incorporation. The interaction of the A3G N-terminal domain (NTD) with RNA is essential for A3G incorporation in the HIV-1 virion. The interaction between A3G-NTD and RNA is not completely understood. The A3G-NTD is also recognized by HIV-1 Viral infectivity factor (Vif) and A3G-Vif binding leads to A3G degradation. Therefore, the A3G-Vif interaction is a target for the development of antiviral therapies that block HIV-1 replication. However, targeting the A3G-Vif interactions could disrupt the A3G-RNA interactions that are required for A3G's antiviral activity. To better understand A3G-RNA binding, we generated in silico docking models to simulate the RNA-binding propensity of A3G-NTD. We simulated the A3G-NTD residues with high RNA-binding propensity, experimentally validated our prediction by testing A3G-NTD mutations, and identified structural determinants of A3G-RNA binding. In addition, we found a novel amino acid residue, I26 responsible for RNA interaction. The new structural insights provided here will facilitate the design of pharmaceuticals that inhibit A3G-Vif interactions without negatively impacting A3G-RNA interactions.

Summary: The onset of atherosclerosis (AS) is insidious, and early stage patients have atypical clinical symptoms. After being diagnosed in late stage, it is often prone to sudden and fatal cardiovascular events. Therefore, it is highly desirable to develop precise and efficient diagnosis and therapy strategies of AS. Benefiting from high signal-to-noise ratio, low detection limit, high specificity and sensitivity, a series of activatable fluorescent probes based on atherosclerotic microenvironment have emerged for identification and treatment of AS. In this review, we focus on the atherosclerotic microenvironment and briefly summarize the correlation between the structural transformation and fluorescence signal changes of mono-/double-activatable fluorescent probes upon biomarkers stimulation. Moreover, their cutting-edge progress for AS theranostics is described. Finally, the outlook for activatable theranostic probes based on atherosclerotic microenvironment is discussed to aim at promoting innovative research in imaging-guided precise AS therapy.

Auditory transduction is mediated by chordotonal (Cho) neurons in Drosophila larvae, but the molecular identity of the mechanotransduction (MET) channel is elusive. Here, we established a whole-cell recording system of Cho neurons and showed that two transient receptor potential vanilloid (TRPV) channels, Nanchung (NAN) and Inactive (IAV), are essential for MET currents in Cho neurons. NAN and IAV form active ion channels when expressed simultaneously in S2 cells. Point mutations in the pore region of NAN-IAV change the reversal potential of the MET currents. Particularly, residues 857 through 990 in the IAV carboxyl terminus regulate the kinetics of MET currents in Cho neurons. In addition, TRPN channel NompC contributes to the adaptation of auditory transduction currents independent of its ion-conduction function. These results indicate that NAN-IAV, rather than NompC, functions as essential pore-forming subunits of the native auditory transduction channel in Drosophila and provide insights into the gating mechanism of MET currents in Cho neurons. Mature compost, as an alternative substance of chemical fertilizer, could provide nutrients for plant growth, improve soil structure and inhibit the diseases. Germination index (GI), as an essential parameter for reflecting the compost maturity, varied with different test methods, which led to the diverse compost products quality and restricted the development of composting technology. Therefore, aiming to make the GI better service for the compost quality detection, some dominant factors related to GI value were summarized based on the previous literatures, especially seed type and the ratio of compost to water extraction. Furthermore, the optimum parameters were confirmed through a single factor experiment. After analyzing, it revealed that the 1:10 (g/mL) and Daucus carota var. sativa L was suggested for the seed germination test. Besides, the seed germination test was supposed to proceed in incubator for 48h at 25°C in the darkness. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The tight association between malnutrition and gut microbiota (GM) dysbiosis enables microbiota-targeting intervention to be a promising strategy. Thus, we used a malnourished pig model to investigate the host response and GM alterations under different diet supplementation strategies. Pigs at age of 4 weeks were fed with pure maize diet to induce malnutrition symptoms, and followed by continuous feeding with maize (Maize, n = 8) or re-feeding using either corn-soy-blend (CSB+, n = 10) or millet-soy-blend based (MSB+, n = 10) supplementary food for 3 weeks. Meanwhile, 8 pigs were fed on a standard formulated ration as control (Ref). The effect of nutritional supplementation was assessed by the growth status, blood chemistry, gastrointestinal pathology, mucosal microbiota composition and colon production of short-chain fatty acids. Compared with purely maize-fed pigs, both CSB+ and MSB+ elevated the concentrations of total protein and globulin in blood. These pigs still showed most malnutrition symptoms after the food intervention period. MSB+ had superior influence on the GM development, exhibiting better performance in both structural and functional aspects. MSB+ pigs were colonized by less Proteobacteria but more Bacteroidetes, Firmicutes and Lachnospira spp. Pearson's correlation analysis indicated a strong correlation between the abundance of mucosal e.g., Faecalibacterium and Lachnospira spp. and body weight, crown-rump length and total serum protein. In conclusion, the malnutrition symptoms were accompanied by an aberrant GM, and millet-based nutritional supplementation showed promising potentials to restore the reduced GM diversity implicated in pig malnutrition.

Catalytic performance of palladium supported on activated carbons and mesoporous aluminosilicate Al-SBA-15 were investigated at 300 °C under 8MPa H2 for hydrotreating of bio-oil model compounds, including phenol, anisole, and furfural. With Pd/C catalysts, phenol, anisole, and furfural have been mainly hydrogenated into cyclohexanol, 1-methoxycyclohexane and (tetrahydro-furan-2-yl)-methanol, respectively. Pd/C shows high hydrogenation activity, but poor deoxygenation ability. Differently, in the presence of Pd/Al-SBA-15, the main hydrotreating products of phenol, anisole, and furfural are cyclohexane, cyclohexane, and tetrahydropyran. The high hydrodeoxygenation activity of Pd/Al-SBA-15 is due to the synergistic effect of the noble metal, which has high hydrogenation ability and the support, which has acidic property, high surface area, and large pore size. To measure intraspecific and interspecific interaction coefficients among tree species is the key to explore the underlying mechanisms for species coexistence and biodiversity maintenance in forests. Through the response surface experimental design, we established a long-term field experiment by planting 27,300 seedlings of four tree species (Erythrophleum fordii, Pinus massoniana, Castanopsis fissa, and Castanopsis carlesii) in 504 plots in different species combinations (six pairwise combinations of four species), abundance proportions (five abundance proportions of two species, i.e. A: B = 1:0, 3:1, 1:1, 1:3, 0:1), and stand densities (25, 36, 64, and 100 seedlings per plot). In this initial report, we aimed to quantify the relative importance of biotic and abiotic factors on seedling survival at the early stage of growth, which is a critical period for seedling establishment. We found that plot-level seedling survival rate was determined by species combination and their abundance proportion rather than stand density. At the individual level, individual survival probability was mainly explained by species identity, initial seedling size, and soil conditions rather than neighborhood competition. Our study highlights that the seedling intrinsic properties may be the key factors in determining seedling survival rate, while neighborhood effects were not yet prominent at the seedling life stage.

Weak acid resistance limits the application of Bifidobacteria as a probiotic in food. The acid tolerance response (ATR), caused by pre-stressing cells at a sublethal pH, could improve the acid resistance of Bifidobacteria to subsequent acid stress. In this study, we used Bifidobacterium longum sub. longum BBMN68 to investigate the effect of the ATR on the acid stress response (ASR), and compared the difference between the ATR and the ASR by analyzing the two-dimensional-PAGE protein profiles and performing physiological tests. The results revealed that a greater abundance of proteins involved in carbohydrate metabolism and protein protection was present after the ASR than after the ATR in Bifidobacterium. Pre-stressing cells increased the abundance of proteins involved in energy production, amino acid metabolism, and peptidoglycan synthesis during the ASR of Bifidobacterium. Moreover, after the ASR, the content of ATP, NH3, thiols, and peptidoglycan, the activity of H+-ATPase, and the maintenance of the intracellular pH in the pre-stressed Bifidobacterium cells was significantly higher than in the uninduced cells. These results provide the first explanation as to why the resistance of Bifidobacterium to acid stress improved after pre-stressing.

The huge multisource data of enterprise credit system was applied to study strategies of industrial restructuring from the credit perspective of the past decade,and the interactive relationship between industrial restructuring and credit supply was studied.Furthermore,empirical analysis was took to study inter-industry credit resource of every economic area by establishing credit industrial change index.The studies show that the synchronization is existed between credited structure adjustment and industrial structure adjustment,however some industries and regions are obtained less credit support during the adjustment process.The research shows that credit data could provide decision support for the implementation of industrial restructuring and credit resources allocation.

Black soldier fly (BSF) studies have attracted increasing scientific attention because of their role in determining sustainability. However, there exists rare quantitative analyses of the scientific literature on research of BSF, especially for visual analyzing from the systematical and bibliometric perspective has not been reported. Therefore, the investigation on the temporal development, scientific collaboration, research hotspots and frontiers in terms of BSF over the last 28 years (1994-2021) is executed for the first time. Combined with the Web of Science Core Collection database, this study collected 914 literatures from 1994 to 2021 that were conducted co-occurrence, co-citation and cluster analysis via CiteSpace software. The main findings are as follows: Firstly, research on BSF has advanced rapidly during the recent five years and Italy, USA and China were the three core force leaders countries with the high publications, centrality and cooperation degrees. In addition, Huazhong Agr Univ showed the core force ranked the third in the world of BSF research, which had high publications and strong cooperation with international institutions. Furthermore, in terms of keyword co-occurrence, time-zone and burst analysis delineated biological characteristics, application and management of BSF larvae were the main research themes. And early studies concentrated on BSF development and breeding, and current hotspots include exploiting BSF larvae as animal feed and recycling organic wastes. Additionally, based on co-cited references cluster analysis, it was concluded that the bioconversion and animal feed using the BSF larvae will still be the focus research fields in the near future, and the technical improvement on the efficiency of bioconversion, integrating the healthy, safety and eco-friendly that future studies should focus on, supporting policy making that indicate the prospective research field on BSF and it's applications.
