Gençlik dönemi; fizyolojik, biyolojik değişmelerle beraber ruhsal olarak değişim ve gelişmelerin yaşandığı çalkantılı bir dönemdir. Bireyin çevresini ve kendisini sorgulayarak yeniden anlamlandırıp bireysel kimliğini inşa ettiği bu dönemde gençler pek çok sorunla yüz yüze gelmektedir. İçinde bulunduğu topluma göre farklılaşmakla beraber gençliğin bazı genel problemleri vardır. Sosyal, psikolojik, biyolojik, kültürel vb. sorunlarla karşılaşılabilmektedir. Geleceğimizin mimarı olan gençlerin yaşadığı sıkıntıları, karşılaştıkları sosyal sorunları yok saymak; onlarla iletişim bağını koparıp onları kendi sorunlarıyla baş başa bırakmak mümkün değildir. Gençlik toplumun istikbalidir ve asla ihmal edilmemelidir. Gençlerin sorun ve ihtiyaçlarına resmi ve sivil pek çok kuruluş duyarsız kalmamıştır. Gençliğe yönelik ve genç nesli ihya edecek çalışmalar ortaya konulmuştur. Ülkemizde resmi yaygın din eğitimi kurumu olan Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı da gençlere yönelik çeşitli alanlarda din hizmeti sunmaktadır. Başkanlık bünyesinde gençlere yönelik ilmi, sosyal ve kültürel faaliyetleri düzenleyen din görevlilerini nitel yöntemle inceleyen kapsamlı akademik bir çalışma bulunmamaktadır. Bu araştırmada Başkanlık bünyesinde 2018-2020 yılları arasında genç kızlara yönelik faaliyetleri düzenleyen din görevlilerinin özelliklerini değerlendirmek amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma verileri kurum bünyesindeki gençlik koordinatörlüğü faaliyetlerine rehberlik edebilir, yeni düzenlemeler getirilmesine katkı sağlayabilir. Bu çalışma nitel bir araştırmadır. Durum çalışması yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Maksimum çeşitlilik örneklemesi doğrultusunda Nevşehir ve Aksaray’dan 30 kadın din görevlisi ve 40 genç kız olmak üzere toplam 70 katılımcı belirlenmiştir. Etik kurul izni alınarak iki aylık bir süreçte (temmuz ve ağustos) katılımcılarla görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Katılımcılarla yapılan görüşmelerden elde edilen veriler doğrultusunda gençlik faaliyetlerini düzenleyen din görevlilerinin özellikleri belirlenmiştir. Bu özellikler ilgili başlık altında ele alınarak yorumlanmıştır. Faaliyetlerin daha etkili ve verimli yürütülmesi adına bazı öneriler sunulmuştur. Araştırma sonucunda faaliyetlerin gençlerin ilgi, ihtiyaç ve beklentileri doğrultusunda düzenlenebilmesi için din görevlileri arasında yapılan görevlendirmelerde dikkat edilmesi gereken hususlar ortaya konulmuştur. Gençlik faaliyetleri için din görevlilerinden oluşan özel bir kadro tahsis edilmesi tavsiye edilmiştir. Gençlik faaliyetlerinde görevli din görevlilerinin olumlu kişilik özelliklerini, iletişim becerilerini ve eğitim-öğretim yeterliliklerini geliştirmeye yönelik hizmet öncesi ve hizmet içi eğitimlere ihtiyaç duyulduğu belirtilmiştir.

Şairlerin kültür hazinelerinin oluşumunda bulundukları şehrin muhakkak bir etkisi vardır. Aynı şekilde şairlerin de o şehirlerin medeniyetine şiir yoluyla katkıda bulunduğu söylenebilir. Şehirler çeşitli terkiplerle ve sahip oldukları anlam dünyasıyla şiirlere konu olabilmekte ve hatta efsaneleri telmih yoluyla canlandırabilmektedir. Bu şehirlerden bir tanesi de üç kapılı Necef şehridir. Bağdat’ın yüz elli kilometre güneyinde, Kerbela’nın yetmiş kilometre güneydoğusunda bulunan Necef şehri, Hz. Ali’nin burada medfun olduğu rivayetinin yayılmasının ardından önem kazanmış ve bunu takip eden yıllarda bir yerleşim merkezine dönüşmüştür. Yüksek bir platoda ve çöl kenarında bulunan şehir, dokuzuncu yüzyıldan itibaren mamur bir yapıya bürünmüş ve şairlerce kutsal sayılan bir yere dönüşmüştür. Hz. Ali’nin burada medfun olması dolayısıyla Hz. Ali ile ilgili mazmunlarla derinlik kazanan Necef şehrine, klâsik Türk edebiyatı şairlerince sıklıkla başvurulmuştur. Bu çalışmada klâsik Türk edebiyatında Necef şehrinin nasıl ve hangi sebeplerle ele alındığı konusu ortaya konulmuştur. Bu durum ortaya konulurken de iki yüzden fazla manzum eser taraması yapılmıştır.

Abstract Emotion is a human sense that can influence an individual’s life quality in both positive and negative ways. The ability to distinguish different types of emotion can lead researchers to estimate the current situation of patients or the probability of future disease. Recognizing emotions from images have problems concealing their feeling by modifying their facial expressions. This led researchers to consider Electroencephalography (EEG) signals for more accurate emotion detection. However, the complexity of EEG recordings and data analysis using conventional machine learning algorithms caused inconsistent emotion recognition. Therefore, utilizing hybrid deep learning models and other techniques has become common due to their ability to analyze complicated data and achieve higher performance by integrating diverse features of the models. However, researchers prioritize models with fewer parameters to achieve the highest average accuracy. This study improves the Convolutional Fuzzy Neural Network (CFNN) for emotion recognition using EEG signals to achieve a reliable detection system. Initially, the pre-processing and feature extraction phases are implemented to obtain noiseless and informative data. Then, the CFNN with modified architecture is trained to classify emotions. Several parametric and comparative experiments are performed. The proposed model achieved reliable performance for emotion recognition with an average accuracy of 98.21% and 98.08% for valence (pleasantness) and arousal (intensity), respectively, and outperformed state-of-the-art methods.

Mycobacterium tuberculosis is a bacterium that causes disease known as Tuberculosis. Tuberculosis is highly contagious and can result in high mortality rate if left untreated. In order to screen individuals suspected of the disease, medical expert relies on several conventional approaches which are hindered by several limitations which include time consuming, high workload, false positive results, etc. This calls for the need to develop smart and automatic approaches that can address these challenges. Majority of existing studies reported the use of 1 or 2 pretrained models and the use of SoftMax as the classifier. Moreover, majority of the studies trained models using a single type of dataset which are mostly curated from public accessible domains. Thus, this study addressed these challenges by: (1) The use of several pretrained models (2) The use of 2 classifiers which include SVM and KNN and (3) Training and validating pretrained models fused with classifiers on microscopic slide and chest X-ray images. The result achieved in this study highlights the prospect of computer-assisted techniques in triaging and screening of TB. The integration of Internet of Everything (IoE) in medical diagnosis has the potential to increase healthcare outcome, boost productivity, and reduce workload.

Öğrencilerin öğrenmelerinde etkili şartlardan biri olan onların ilgi ve ihtiyaçları program değerlendirme ve geliştirme çalışmalarında dikkate alınan bir husustur. Din eğitimi esnasında ilgi duyduğu, merak ettiği bir konuyla karşılaşan öğrencinin öğrenme isteği daha yüksek olacak ve öğrenmenin gerçekleşmesi daha kolay sağlanacaktır. Araştırmada DKAB Dersi öğretim programı kazanımları, öğrencilerin ilgi ve ihtiyaçlarına ilişkin düşünceleri ışığında incelenmiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı 2018 yılında hazırlanan DKAB Dersi Öğretim Programı, on birinci sınıf Dünya ve Ahiret, Kur’an’a Göre Hz. Muhammed üniteleri kazanımlarının, öğrencilerin ilgi, ihtiyaç ve beklentileri ile uyumunu ortaya çıkarmaktır. Çalışmada nitel ve nicel verilerin kullanıldığı karma araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmaya katılım gönüllülük esasına dayalı gerçekleştirilmiştir. Buna göre Kayseri il merkezinde bulunan 5 anadolu lisesinde öğrenim görmekte olan veya mezun 294 öğrenciden anket formuna cevap alınmış ve 13 öğrenciyle yarı yapılandırılmış mülakat yapılmıştır. Sonuç olarak, en yoğun öğrenci ilgisinin 11. sınıf DKAB dersinde Kuran’a göre Hz. Muhammet ünitesi kazanımlarına olduğu görülmüştür. Öğrencilerin en yüksek oranda öğrendiklerini düşündükleri kazanımlar da aynı ünitenin kazanımlarıdır. Ayrıca öğrencilerin dünya hayatı ve ahiret hayatı arasındaki ilişkiyi tam olarak anlayamadıkları, cenaze uğurlama uygulamalarını sadece teorik boyutta düşünerek okulda öğrenilmesine gerek görmedikleri, Hz. Muhammed’in örnek şahsiyeti ile ona bağlılık ve itaatin öğretiminde mucizevi veya tehditkâr söylemlerden rahatsız oldukları tespit edilmiştir.

Emotion regulation difficulties are a significant concern in the realm of eating disorders, serving as either contributing factors or ongoing challenges. While extensive research has explored these issues within prominent eating disorders like anorexia (AN) and bulimia nervosa (BN), there is a noticeable gap when it comes to understanding emotion regulation difficulties (ERD) and intuitive eating (IE) characteristics in the context of orthorexia nervosa (ON). This study aims to bridge this knowledge gap by introducing a quantitative approach to investigate ERD and IE in a Turkish population affected by ON, involving 159 participants. The study's primary findings reveal that ON represents a non-adaptive eating behavior inherently marked by ERD. Notably, a significant gender difference was observed, indicating that men exhibit a higher likelihood of displaying orthorexic tendencies compared to women . Prior research has highlighted the importance of ERD and the absence of IE in the context of AN and BN. This study extends these findings to assert that these emotional factors also constitute critical criteria in the understanding and treatment of ON. Thus, clinicians should be attentive to the emotional aspects when addressing individuals affected by ON.

Introduction:Delirium is frequently encountered in pediatric intensive care units (PICUs) in critical patients and is characterized by fluctuating acute impaired awareness and cognition. An inadequate level of knowledge in critical care staff can bring about a significant risk that would delay diagnosis and treatment. This study investigated the delirium knowledge of PICU staff.Methods:This was a single-center, cross-sectional, descriptive survey study. A 17-item online questionnaire was administered to PICU staff who worked in the PICU, surgery PICU and burn PICU.Results:We invited 120 PICU staff to the study, and 88% (n=106) responded to the questionnaire. Of the responders, 30% had an inadequate level of knowledge regarding hypoactive delirium, 57% inaccurately chose the Glasgow-Coma score as the appropriate screening tool for delirium, 80% incorrectly responded that benzodiazepines were used in the treatment of delirium, and 79% thought that patients did not remember their moments of delirium.Conclusion:The results indicated that PICU staff required training on the importance, risk factors, diagnosis, and treatment of pediatric delirium. The lack of a screening tool in the native language further complicates the assessment of delirium. PICU staff equipped with improved knowledge and the appropriate screening tools can make a difference in recognizing, preventing, and proper treatment of pediatric delirium.

Abstract Continuous development in the formulation and processing techniques of polyurethane (PU) coatings improves an aesthetic appearance as well as protection against environmental factors. In this study, the formulation of PU coating with polyethylene glycol 600 (PEG600), isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI), and trimethoxysilylpropylcarbamoyloxyhexane (TMSCH) silane‐based additive is optimized to obtain high scratch‐resistant coating. An addition of 43.1 wt.% TMSCH in PU formulation resulted in a significant improvement in the scratch resistance and wettability properties compared with pure PU film. The homogenously prepared micron‐thick coatings are characterized using scanning electron microscopy analysis and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The results confirm the presence of silane additives in the PU coating matrix. The mechanical properties improved due to the increased crosslinking networks via the formation of urethane bonds by increasing the TMSCH in PU formulation. Prepared PU coating showed combined features of transparency, hydrophobicity, scratch resistance, and mechanical strength that make it a promising candidate for household appliances.

Abstract The past two decades have witnessed rapid advances in the use of fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites in different engineering fields. Advantages such as high strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, and tailority have led to immense interest in the use of FRPs in wide spectrum repair and strengthening of structures. Despite their many advantages, FRPs are highly sensitive to high temperatures, which pose a major concern for fire potential structures such as buildings. Applying proper thermal insulation can enhance the fire performance of FRP and reduce the possible fire damage to the FRP strengthened element. This study set out to experimentally investigate the effectiveness of two insulation systems, “FIRECOAT” and “REALROCK” on fire performance of CFRP and GFRP strengthened concrete specimens. Various configurations and exposure durations were considered to evaluate the effectiveness of insulating materials. To perform the experiments, cylindrical concrete specimens were fabricated and strengthened using CFRP or GFRP. After insulating the specimens, they were exposed to a standard fire curve for two different durations of 30 and 60 min. The results indicate that less than 30 min of fire, both insulation systems can provide the required protection. During long exposure duration of 60 min, only REALROCK can provide the required thermal resistance for FRP-strengthened concrete. Within the tested materials, Fire Set 60 outperformed other insulating materials. It was observed that implementing Fire Set 60 in the innermost layer of thermal insulations has crucial importance in preventing the fire induced reductions in strength of FRP-strengthened concrete elements.

Background and Objectives: In this study, the effects of a six-week training program and various diets on subfatin, asprosin, irisin, leptin, ghrelin and the lipid profile were investigated in overweight women. Materials and Methods: A total of 78 women voluntarily participated in the study. Groups: The study was divided into eight groups: Healthy Control, Obese Control, Obese + Vegetarian, Obese + Ketogenic, Obese + Intermittent Fasting, Obese + Exercise + Vegetarian, Obese + Exercise + Ketogenic and Obese + Exercise + Intermittent Fasting. While there was no intervention in the healthy and obese control groups, the other groups followed predetermined exercise and diet programs for 6 weeks. Blood samples were taken from the participants in the research group twice (before and after the interventions). An autoanalyzer was used to determine the lipid profile in the blood samples taken, and the ELISA method was used to analyze other parameters. Results: Overall, a significant difference was found in the values of weight, BMI, subfatin, ghrelin, leptin, cholesterol, triglyceride, HDL and LDL as a result of the exercise and diet interventions (p < 0.05). There was no significant difference in asprosin and irisin values (p > 0.05). Conclusions: In conclusion, regular exercise and dietary interventions in obese women can regulate lipid profile, ghrelin, leptin and asprosin levels, and increasing irisin with exercise can activate lipid metabolism and support positive changes in lean mass.

Lead (Pb) is a hazardous metal that poses a significant threat to both the environment and human health. The presence of Pb in food products such as honey can pose a significant risk to human health and is therefore important to detect and monitor. In this study, we propose a voltammetric detection method using molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) electrodes to detect Pb (II) ions in honey. Pb (II) ion-imprinted amino acid-based nanoparticles with magnetic properties on a carbon paste electrode (MIP-CPE) were designed to have high sensitivity and selectivity towards Pb (II) ions in the honey sample. Zetasizer measurements, electron spin resonance, and scanning electron microscopy were used to characterize magnetic polymeric nanoparticles. The results showed that the voltammetric detection method using MIP-CPE was able to accurately detect Pb (II) ions in honey samples with a low detection limit. The proposed method offers a simple, rapid, cost-effective solution for detecting Pb (II) ions in honey. It could potentially be applied to other food products to ensure their safety for human consumption. The MIP-CPE sensor was designed to have high sensitivity and selectivity towards Pb (II) ions in the honey sample. The results showed that the technique was able to deliver highly sensitive results since seven different concentrations were prepared and detected to obtain an R2 of 0.9954, in addition to a low detection limit (LOD) of 0.0912 µM and a low quantification limit (LOQ) of 0.276 µM. Importantly, the analysis revealed no trace of Pb (II) ions in the honey samples obtained from Cyprus.

This research was performed to determine the effects of different sowing times (ST1, ST2, and ST3) and biostimulant (Pi-NFS) doses (0, 100, 250, 500 ml da-1) on seed yield components of Italian ryegrass ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum L.) in the continental condition of Eskişehir, Turkey. The results indicated that the main factors significantly affected the seed yield components except for the effect of sowing time on plant height, however, the interaction effect of these factors was significant only on the number of the reproductive tillers and seed yield. There was no significant difference between the ST1 and ST2 in terms of the number of the reproductive tillers, thousand seed weight, and seed yield. Likewise, the values of these components did not differ significantly in the doses of 250 and 500 ml da-1. The highest seed yield was derived from the dose of 500 ml da-1 at ST2 and the values obtained from the doses of 250 and 500 ml da-1 at the ST1 were in the high seed yield group. It was concluded that early sowing time and the doses of 250 to 500 ml da-1 biostimulant application resulted in high seed yield in Italian grass. On the other hand, the dose of 500 ml was more effective in case of delayed sowing time like ST2.

Abstract Aim To examine subfatin, preptin and betatrophin levels in plasma and aqueous in patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) (with and without retinopathy). Material and method Sixty patients, who were similar in terms of age and gender, and were scheduled for operation due to cataract, were included in the study. The patients were divided into three groups as Group C (20 weeks without diabetes and comorbidity), Group DM (20 patients with DM but no retinopathy) and Group DR (20 patients with diabetic retinopathy). The preoperative body mass index (BMI), fasting plasma glucose, HbA1c, lipid profile levels of all patients in the groups were examined. Blood samples were also taken for plasma subfatin, preptin and betatrophin levels. At the beginning of the cataract surgery, 0.1 ml of aqueous fluid was taken from the anterior chamber. Plasma and aqueous subfatin, preptin and betatrophin levels were analyzed by ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays) method. Türk halk dindarlığının özel bir formu olarak ziyaret dindarlığı; tarih boyunca ve günümüzde, çok yönlü bir dinî, mistik, sihrî inanış ve sosyo-kültürel bir olgu olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Ziyaret dindarlığı, toplum kültürünün ve dininin çok önemli bir veçhesini oluşturmaktadır. Dinî ve manevi yönü öne çıkan kimselerin defnedildikleri yerler, sahip olduklarına inanılan manevi meziyetler sebebiyle türlü dilek ve amaçlarla ziyaretlere konu olmayı sürdürmektedir. Dinî amaçlarla ziyaret edilen bu yerlerin başında türbeler gelmektedir. Türbelere yapılan ziyaretlerin temelde iki amacı vardır: birtakım isteklerin gerçekleşmesi ve buradaki manevi ortamı teneffüs etmek. Bir isteğin gerçekleşmesi beklentisiyle yapılan ziyaretler diğerlerine göre daha fazladır. Türbelerde yapılan isteklerde çocuk sahibi olmak, erkek çoçuk sahibi olmak, iş sahibi olmak, evlenmek, çocuğuna hayırlı bir kısmet bulmak, hastalıktan kurtulmak, ev-araba sahibi olmak ve psikolojik sıkıntılardan kurtulmak gibi hususlar öne çıkmaktadır. Bu araştırmada nitel paradigma içerisinde yer alan fenomenolojik çözümleme modeli kullanılmıştır. Böylece ziyaret fenomeninin ziyaret edenler açısından değerlendirilmesi hedeflenmektedir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Hacı Bayram-ı Veli türbesini ziyaret edenler oluşturmaktdadır. Bu kapsamda 47 kişiyle mülakat gerçekleştirilmiştir. Mülakat yoluyla elde edilen verilerin değerlendirilmesinde betimsel analiz tekniği tercih edilmiştir. Bazı türbeler özel birtakım isteklerle özdeşleşirken Hacı Bayram-ı Veli türbesinin her tür istek için gelinen bir türbe olduğu anlaşılmaktadır. Bazı katılımcılar fırsat buldukça çeşitli türbeleri ziyaret ettiğini, bazıları ise düzenli olarak Hacı Bayram’a geldiğini dile getirmektedir. Hacı Bayram-ı Veli türbesinde en sık yapılan uygulama türbenin bitişiğindeki camide namaz kılmak, türbede Kur’an okuyarak dua etmektir. Türbenin etrafında ziyaretçiler tarafından sık sık çikolata, lokum, tatlı gibi yiyecekler dağıtılmaktadır. Bunun dışında türbenin kilidine anahtar sokmak gibi farklı uygulamalar da yapılmaktadır. Türbe her yaş ve meslek grubundan, farklı eğitim ve sosyoekonomik düzeydeki kişiler tarafından ziyaret edilmektedir. Etrafta sık sık dolaşan görevlilerin bulunması ve türbenin herkes tarafından görülebilen bir alanda olması sebebiyle İslam’da hoş görülmeyen veya bidat olarak kabul edilen çaput bağlama, türbe civarından toprak alma gibi faaliyetler pek müşahede edilmemektedir. Ayrıca katılımcıların birçoğu doğrudan türbede yatan şahıstan himmet beklemediğini, Hacı Bayram’a duydukları saygı, sevgi sayesinde ve onun yüzü suyu hürmetine, dileklerinin Allah tarafından gerçekleştirilmesini umduklarını söylemişlerdir. Hacı Bayram’ın hayatıyla ilgili çok az şey bilinmesine rağmen onun bir veli olduğu ve türbesinde yapılan duaların kabul olacağı inancı yaygındır. Hacı Bayram-ı Veli türbesine en çok ziyaretçi cuma günü gelmektedir. Türbede yapılan duaların daha çok kabul olacağı inancı cuma günü yapılan duaların daha çok kabul olacağına dair beklentiyle birleşince ziyaretçi sayısı artmaktadır. Ayrıca cuma günleri daha fazla ikram dağıtılmakta böylece hem hayır dağıtmak hem de ikram almak isteyenler için bu gün tercih edilmektedir. Bazı cuma günleri bir din büyüğü görüntüsü veren sarık ve cübbe giymiş uzun sakallı yaşlı bir kişinin türbenin yakınında oturup kendisine başvuran insanlar için dua edip tavsiyede bulunması da insanların buraya gelmelerinde etkili faktörlerden biridir. İster bidat ister hurafe isterse masum bir halk dindarlığı tezahürü olarak görülsün türbe; ziyaretçilerin manevi ortam arayışlarını karşılamakta, dualarının kabul olacağı beklentisini artırmakta ve ziyaretçilere psikososyal açıdan birçok katkı sağlamaktadır. Bu özelliklerini sürdürdüğü sürece insanların buralara gelmeye devam edeceği söylenebilir.

This study investigated the environmental literacy levels of middle school students in general. In particular, environmental literacy levels of students were compared in terms of different variables. The research was carried out with the participation of 1248 students studying in public and private schools in the province of Isparta, located in the Mediterranean region of Turkey. In this study, the “Environmental Literacy Scale” developed by Yavuz et al. (2014) was used. As a result, the general environmental literacy of middle school students can be regarded in a good level. The environmental literacy level of female students is at a better level than males’. Environmental literacy hasn’t displayed a significant difference statistically among class levels. However; there is a significant difference between public and private school students in favor of public schools. Moreover; the environmental literacy scores of students living in city center were detected higher than the ones living in villages. The environmental literacy level of ones following magazines about environment is significantly higher than the ones who haven’t. Similarly, the environmental literacy level of ones following edition about environment through social media or television is significantly higher than those who haven’t. Moreover, the behavior level of the ones who thinks environment education at schools is sufficient is determined significantly higher in comparison with the behavior level of the ones who doesn’t. Finally, the research was ended with some suggestions for a more effective environment education.

Dinî başa çıkma, bireyin yaşadığı durumlarla baş etme sürecinde dinî inanç, ibadet ve uygulamalara başvurmasıdır. Son yıllarda Türkiye’de bireylerin dinî başa çıkma stratejileri konusunda yapılan çalışmaların sayısı artmaktadır. Genellikle tarama yöntemleriyle gerçekleştirilen bu çalışmalarda yurtdışında geliştirilerek Türkiye’ye uyarlanan ölçekler kullanılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada Türkiye’nin dinî kültürel yapısına uygun; farklı cinsiyet, yaş, yerleşim yeri, eğitim ve dindarlık düzeyindeki kişileri kapsayan bir dinî başa çıkma ölçeği geliştirmek amaçlanmaktadır. Bu kapsamda öncelikle yakın çevredeki kişilerle yapılan mülakatlardan da yararlanarak konuyla ilgili bir kavram havuzu oluşturulmuştur. Daha sonra bu kavram havuzundan hareketle 76 maddelik taslak ölçek hazırlanmıştır. Ölçeğin kapsam geçerliğinin sağlanması amacıyla altı uzmanın görüşüne başvurulmuştur. Uzman görüşleri doğrultusunda iki özelliği birden ölçen 3 madde ikiye ayrılmış, 7 madde ölçekten çıkarılmış ve iki madde de ölçeğe eklenmiştir. Bunun yanında 2 dilbilgisi, iki de ölçme ve değerlendirme uzmanının görüşleri alınarak ölçek revize edilmiştir. Sonuçta 4’ü olumlu dinî başa çıkma, 4’ü olumsuz dinî başa çıkma boyutunun altında yer alan 8 faktörlü 74 maddelik bir ölçek elde edilmiştir. 5’li Likert tipi olarak hazırlanan ölçek anlaşılabilirlik ve süre açısından kontrol için on kişilik bir örneklem grubuna uygulanmıştır. İfadelerin anlaşılır olduğu ve ortalama 5 dakikada ölçeğin tamamlandığı tespit edildikten sonra etik kurula başvurulmuştur. Necmettin Erbakan Üniversitesi Sosyal ve Beşeri Bilimler Bilimsel Araştırmalar Etik Kurulu Başkanlığının 11/03/2022 tarih, 03 sayılı toplantı ve 2022/110 sayılı kararı ile onaylanan taslak ölçeğin ilk uygulaması 2022 yılının Nisan ve Mayıs aylarında gerçekleştirilmiştir. 373 katılımcı tarafından uygun şekilde doldurulan ölçeğin KMO ve Barlett’s Testinin sonuçlarının anlamlı olduğu görülmüş ve açımlayıcı faktör analizi yapılmıştır. Analiz sonucunda ayırt edicilik düzeyi 0,40’ın altında kalan ve birden fazla faktöre, birbirine yakın oranda yük veren 38 madde ölçekten çıkarılmıştır. 6 faktör altında toplanan 36 maddenin faktör yapısının doğrulanması amacıyla ölçek 257 kişiden oluşan farklı bir örnekleme tekrar uygulanmıştır. Ölçeğin doğrulayıcı faktör analizi sonuçlarının da açımlayıcı faktör analiziyle uyumlu olduğu görülmüştür. Sonuç olarak tüm alt boyutlarda yüksek düzeyde güvenirliğe sahip; olumlu ve olumsuz iki boyutlu, altı faktörden oluşan; geçerli, güvenilir ve kuramsal temeli güçlü bir dinî başa çıkma ölçeği elde edilmiştir.

The Bosphorus Suspension Bridge, which connects the Asian and European sides, has a geopolitical importance in terms of its location, and has also been integrated with Istanbul. The bridge has a main span of 1074 m, and it had inclined hanger configuration until recently. On January 2004, a hanger-to-deck connection close to European side tower was damaged due the storm. This resulted in discussion of changing the inclined hangers with vertical ones. Inclined hangers increase the aerodynamic stability of the bridge; however some of them can remain as slack and easily swing under wind load. This occurred at the Bosphorus Suspension Bridge. On July 2015, the inclined hangers were replaced with vertical ones. This study aim to investigates changing of hanger configuration on the structural behavior of the Bosporus Suspension Bridge. When the suspensions of an inclined designed bridge are later changed vertically, the changes that occur in the other carrier elements of the bridge (tower, deck, cable, etc.) are examined and interpreted, and how the existing unchanged other carrier system of the bridge is affected by this change has been investigated. For this aim, three-dimensional finite element analyses were employed for both inclined and vertical hanger configurations. Modal, static and dynamic analyses were practiced by considering geometrical nonlinearity. At the end of the analyses, dynamic characteristics, displacements and internal forces were obtained and presented in detail. The GBZ000 component of Gebze station records of 1999 Kocaeli earthquake is utilized as a ground motion for dynamic analysis. From the analyses, it was evident that the vertical hanger configuration had a positive effect on the bridge response in terms of vertical displacement and internal forces obtained. Also, it was seen that all hangers were loaded as equal in the event of vertical configuration and this made the bridge more stable. Based on these, the vertical hanger configuration is recommended in terms of more safety.

In this study, the effect of P. arvense-H. vulgare mixture and V. pannonica grown in the fallow year on silage yield and quality of subsequent cereals were investigated in the arid condition of Eskişehir, Turkey. The fresh weight of P. arvense-H. vulgare mixture with 2750 kg/da was found two-fold high than V. pannonica. P. arvense-H. vulgare mixture significantly increased the fresh and dry hay weights of cereals except for H. vulgare cv. İnce. In addition, the highest grain yield was obtained by growing Triticosecale cv. Karma in P. arvense-H. vulgare mixture plots. Due to the high pH and low dry matter content of triticale samples, the Fleig scores were very low, which is a quality indicator in silage. ADF and NDF ratios were the highest in A. sativa cv. Checato as a negative quality factor. Top-dressing of nitrogen had a positive effect on the crude protein ratio. It was concluded that production of quality roughage can be sustainably increased by growing P. arvense-H. vulgare mixture in barren areas in the fallow year and followed by sowed cvs. Karma, Müfitbey, and Checato in the cereal growing season.

The percentage of students who have lower academic achievement than their peers due to their socio-economical disadvantages is globally accepted as an indicator of inequality. Some students, despite their disadvantages, are as successful as their advantaged peers. The family and individual characteristics, as well as academic experiences, of these students, who are referred to as academically resilient, provide useful information to the institutions that work to increase the academic success levels of other disadvantaged students. Accordingly, this study aims to determine the individual characteristics of academically resilient students with a focus on the PISA Turkey results. In line with the OECD criteria, an equal number of academically resilient (N = 214) and academically disadvantaged students participated in the study. Students who’s economic, social, and cultural index values are amongst the bottom 25% were considered to be disadvantaged, and those who performed level 3 and above in reading proficiency were regarded to be successful. Eighteen individual characteristics measured within the scope of PISA research were included in the study as independent variables. Binary logistic regression analysis was used in the analysis of the data. The regression model created in line with the findings was found to predict 67 percent of the variance in academic resilience and make an accurate classification of 85 percent. The predictors of academic resilience, in order of their power, are grade repetition, use of metacognitive learning strategies (understanding, summarizing, evaluating credibility), reading for enjoyment, attitude towards academic competition, self-efficacy, and the desired occupation.

Purpose: The primary aim of thşis study was to evaluate difference in the number of patients with tru-cut biopsies to diagnose breast lesions between non-pandemic and pandemic periods. Materials and Methods: In this study, the nonpandemic period and the pandemic period were compared, the periods for the pandemic times, between March 1, 2018, and 29 February 2020, and for the nonpandemic period, 1 March 2020 to 12 March 2022 to 12 March 2022. In each period, we have included all the tru-cut biopsies for suspected breast cancer. During the pandemic and non-pandemic period, the number of tru-cut biopsies BI-RADS and histopathological findings of the patients who experienced tru-cut biopsies were compared. Results: The number of tru-cut biopsies performed during the nonpandemic and pandemic period was similar (1596, 1599). In the pandemic period, tru-cut biopsy histopathologic reports revealed that benign and high-risk cases decreased statistically, while invasive carcinoma cases increased by 1.9 (95% CI 1.6-2.2) times. During the pandemic period, US-guided BI-RADS 3 and BI-RADS 4a cases decreased statistically significantly, BBI-RADS 4b cases increased 1.4 (95% CI 1.1-2.2) times, BI-RADS 4c cases 1.7 (95% CI 1.2-2.2), BI-RADS 5 cases increased 2.1 (95% CI 1.4-3.1) times Conclusion: There was no significant change in tru-cut biopsy numbers compared to the period of the pandemic and the non-pandemic period. However, the stage of the cancers captured during the period of the pandemic was higher.

Abstract Background The aim of the study is to evaluate the clinical characteristics and compare the treatment methods for perianal abscesses by assessing our treatment experiences. Methods We have retrospectively analyzed the records of the children who received perianal abscess and fistula-in-ano treatment between January 2014 and January 2022. Demographic information of the patients, complaints, treatment procedures, abscess recurrence, and development of fistula-in-ano was evaluated. Patients with systemic diseases and inflammatory bowel diseases were excluded from the study. Results A total of 312 children (230 boys, 82 girls) were included in the study. The median age was 24.3 ± 18.1 months (1–216). In the first examination, 61 (19.5%) patients had fistula-in-ano and 25 1(80.5%) patients had a perianal abscess. The most common symptoms were erythema in the perianal region, mass, constipation, rectal bleeding, and inability to defecate. Spontaneous drainage was determined in 34.3% (n = 86) of the perianal abscess, and 65.7% (n = 165) of perianal abscesses were treated with incision-drainage without general anesthesia and systemic antibiotherapy. In the follow-up, fistula-in-ano formed in 27 patients who had a perianal abscess. Twenty-four of the patients who developed fistula-in-ano, were seen after spontaneous drainage, and 3 of them were seen after incision drainage. Perianal abscess recurred in 64 patients. Spontaneously drained abscess significantly increased the development of fistula-in-ano (p = 0.001). However, recurrences in a perianal abscess (25.4%) do not increase the fistula-in-ano formation (p > 0.05). In fistula-in-ano treatment, 10 (11.5%) patients were resolved spontaneously, 70 (79.5%) patients were treated with fistulotomy and 8 (9%) patients were treated with fistulectomy. Conclusion Treatment of perianal abscess and fistula-in-ano in children is still controversial. According to our results, incision-drainage and antibiotic usage in the treatment of the perianal abscess are the most appropriate treatment to decrease the rate of fistula-in-ano.

Aims:The aim of this study was to evaluate serum zinc (Zn) level, total antioxidant capacity (TAC) level, and nutritional status in premenstrual syndrome (PMS).Methods:This cross-sectional, single-center study and case-control study enrolled university students 18 to 28 years old. Serum TAC analysis was performed via the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Serum Zn level was measured using atomic absorption spectrometry. Nutritional status was assessed using the 24-hour dietary recall.Results:The study population consisted of 110 individuals (mean±Sstandart deviation age: 20.3±1.9 years), 48 subjects with PMS, and 62 subjects without PMS. Individuals with PMS had lower serum Zn levels (28.04±31.40 μmol/L vs. 11.67±6.42 μmol/L, respectively), TAC levels (1.60±0.42 mmol/L vs. 1.47±0.10 mmol/L), and higher body mass index (22.30±02.71 kg/m2 vs. 23.73±3.44 kg/m2) than individuals without PMS. Individuals with PMS had lower fiber, polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA), vitamins E, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B6, vitamin C, folate, and magnesium, and higher carbohydrate and sodium intake than those without PMS but the differences did not reach statistical significance. The foreign body aspiration into the respiratory system is an emergency situation with a high mortality rate, when diagnosis and treatment are delayed which can cause complications and repeated hospitalizations. Although it is especially common in children under the age of five, it can be seen at any age in chronically ill children with neurological problems. However, it is rarely seen in pediatric patients with tracheostomy and dependent on a home mechanical ventilator due to their nutritional style and severe neurological retardation. In this study, foreign body aspiration that developed in a pediatric patient with tracheostomy who was followed up with a home mechanical ventilator and fed from gastrostomy was presented.

Abstract Backround Diabetic retinopathy is a disease seen with microvascular complications as a result of hyperglycemia and insulin resistance. Alarin and Adipsin are molecules with a role in energy and glucose metabolism. The aim of this study was to determine plasma and aqueous levels of Alarin and Adipsin in patients with and without diabetic retinopathy to evaluate their potential roles in diabetic retinopathy. Methods The study included one eye from each of 20 cataract patients without diabetes (C), 20 cataract patients with diabetes and without diabetic retinopathy (DM + C), and 20 cataract patients with diabetes and diabetic retinopathy (DR + C). Plasma and aqueous humour samples were taken from all patients during the cataract operation. Alarin and Adipsin levels were examined with the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method. AIM: To evaluate plasma and aqueous levels of adiponutrin and pannexin 1 in patients with and without diabetic retinopathy. METHODS: The study included three age and gender-matched groups of 20 cataract patients with no diabetes or additional disease (Group C), 20 cataract patients with diabetes and no retinopathy (Group DM+C), and 20 cataract patients with diabetic retinopathy (Group DR+C). All the patients were examined with respect to body mass index (BMI), fasting plasma glucose, hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), and lipid profile. Phacoemulsification and intraocular lens (Phaco+IOL) implantation were performed to all patients in all the groups, and aqueous samples were taken during the operation. Background: Mitochondrial diseases are a clinically heterogeneous group of rare hereditary disorders that are defined by a genetic defect predominantly affecting mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation. Mitochondrial diseases are caused by mutations of genes encoded by either nuclear DNA or mitochondrial DNA. Hundreds of different mitochondrial DNA point mutations and large-scale mitochondrial DNA rearrangements have been shown to cause mitochondrial diseases including Kearns–Sayre syndrome, Leber’s hereditary optic neuropathy, Leigh syndrome, myoclonic epilepsy with ragged-red fibers, mitochondrial encephalopathy lactic acidosis stroke. Aims: To investigate new variants that could be associated with mitochondrial diseases and to determine the effect of mitochondrial DNA mutations on the clinical spectrum. Study Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: We screened whole mitochondrial DNA genome using next-generation sequencing in 16 patients who are considered to have mitochondrial disease. CentoGene and Mikrogen Genetic Diseases Diagnostic Center’s database were used to investigate sequence variants. Detected variants were evaluated in bioinformatic databases to determine pathogenicity and were classified as class 1 (pathogenic), class 2 (likely pathogenic), and class 3 (variant of uncertain significance) according to CentoGene-ACMG database. Results: As a result of the study, 2 patients were diagnosed with Leigh syndrome as previously reported class 1 mutations in MT-ATP6 and MT-ND5 genes. Four variants were identified for the first time in literature and 2 variants, previously reported but with uncertain pathogenic effect, are thought to be associated with mitochondrial disease. Conclusion: Mitochondrial DNA screening should be among the primary clinical tests in patients with suspected mitochondrial disease to rule out DNA-associated mutations.

Cancer is a devastating disease that has significant psychological and biological impacts. Generally, lung cancer primarily affects men while breast cancer primarily affects women. Thus, this study aimed to investigate the levels of anxiety and depression in patients with these prevalent cancer types, as well as their perceptions of the illness and any potential connections between them. The study included a total of 252 participants, consisting of 110 breast cancer patients, 112 lung cancer patients, and 30 healthy individuals as controls. The Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) and Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) were administered to assess mood, while the Illness Perception Questionnaire (IPQ) was used to evaluate cancer perceptions. Results revealed that both breast cancer and lung cancer patients had significantly higher BDI and BAI scores compared to the control group. Furthermore, the BDI and BAI scores were lower in breast cancer patients compared to lung cancer patients. The IPQ causal representation–immunity score was significantly higher in lung cancer patients than in breast cancer patients (p = 0.01). Positive correlations were found between BDI scores and BAI scores, as well as between BDI scores and certain subscale scores of the IPQ related to illness representation and causal representation. Additionally, a positive correlation was observed between BAI scores and the IPQ illness representation–timeline acute/chronic subscale, while a negative correlation was found between BAI scores and the IPQ causal representation–accident or chance scores. Overall, the study findings demonstrated that breast and lung cancer patients possess negative perceptions of their disease and experience high levels of anxiety and depression. To enhance the quality of life and promote resilience in these patients, it is recommended to incorporate psychological interventions that consider anxiety, depression, and disease perception.

Background and Objectives: This study aimed to examine the function of various inflammation parameters and their interactions in the pathology of Bipolar disorder (BD) and to assess whether they could be biomarkers in the relationship between criminal behavior and BD. Materials and Methods: Overall, 1029 participants, including 343 patients with BD who have committed offenses, 343 nonoffending patients with BD, and 343 healthy controls, were included in this retrospective study. Neutrophil, lymphocyte, monocyte, and platelet counts; high-density lipoprotein (HDL-c) levels; systemic immune-inflammatory index (SII), systemic inflammatory response index (SIRI), neutrophil to high-density lipoprotein ratio (NHR), lymphocyte to high-density lipoprotein ratio (LHR), monocyte to high-density lipoprotein ratio (MHR), platelet to high-density lipoprotein ratio (PHR) were measured. Results: Significant differences were observed between the groups in terms of SII, SIRI, NHR, LHR, MHR, PHR, neutrophil, and monocyte values (p < 0.001). The lymphocyte counts were significantly higher in the patients with BD who committed offenses (p = 0.04). The platelet counts were significantly lower in the patients with BD who committed offenses compared to nonoffending patients with BD (p = 0.015). The HDL-c levels were significantly lower in the patients with BD who have committed offenses than those of nonoffending patients with BD (p < 0.001). Bipolar disorder, not receiving active psychiatric treatment, having a diagnosis of bipolar manic episodes, and having low platelet and HDL values constitute a risk of involvement in crime. Conclusions: The present study emphasizes the role of systemic inflammation in the pathophysiology of patients with BD with and without criminal offenses and the relationship between inflammation and criminal behavior.

COVID-19 has caused great changes in education. Routines, practices, and especially the technologies used in teaching have differentiated at all levels of education. The purpose of this study is to determine the technologies used by faculty members for instructional purposes before and during the COVID-19 pandemic and their perspectives on the use of these technologies after the end of pandemic. A close-ended questionnaire was used for gathering data in this survey research study. Participants are150 faculty members from different ages and fields. Findings indicate that, although faculty members experienced various issues (e.g., infrastructure problems, access to technology, and lack of experience in technology) while teaching through technological facilities during the pandemic, they are in favor of using tools such as WhatsApp, Google classroom, Zoom Meeting, Facebook, and e-mail after the end of pandemic due to the different facilities they provide.

Din görevlisinin mesleğiyle ilgili geçirdiği yaşantılarla oluşan mesleki tutumunun duygusal, zihinsel ve davranışsal boyutları bulunur. Mesleği sevme ya da sevmeme gibi duygular, mesleki tutumunun duygusal boyutunu oluşturur. Meslekle ilgili düşünce ve bilgileri mesleki tutumun bilişsel (zihinsel) boyutunu meydana getirmektedir. Mesleki tutumun davranış boyutu ise, duygusal ve bilişsel boyutlarına uygun olarak yapılan mesleki faaliyetler ve işlerdir. Tükenmişliğin örgüt ve iş boyutu, kavramın oluşumu ve gelişimi açısından önem taşımaktadır. Çünkü insanlar hayatlarının büyük bir kısmını işyerlerinde geçirmektedirler. İş yaşantılarını, örgüt yapılarını, istemeden de olsa aile ve ev yaşantılarına yansıtmaktadırlar. İş yükü ağırlığı, işin niteliği, çalışma arkadaşlığı ilişkileri, iletişim ve bunun yanı sıra örgütün yönetim ve organizasyon yapısı, uygulanan strateji ve politikalar, yönetici uygulamaları ve yaptırımları, kanunlar, yasalar, yönetmelikler bireysel boyutta tükenmişlik sendromunun oluşuma zemin hazırlayabilmektedir. Bu çalışmada her biri Türkiye’nin farklı bölgelerinde yer alan yedi büyükşehirdeki dinî yükseköğretim kurumlarında, Millî Eğitim Bakanlığında ve Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığında çeşitli unvanlarda çalışanların mesleki tutum ve tükenmişlik düzeyleri incelenmiştir. Veri toplama aracı olarak demografik bilgiler, mesleki tutum ve mesleki tükenmişlik ölçeklerini içeren anket uygulanmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında 282 akademisyen, 1605 öğretmen ve 1775 din görevlisi olmak üzere toplam 3662 katılımcının anketi geçerli kabul edilmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda elde edilen veriler SPSS 23,0 istatistik programıyla incelenmiştir. Çalışmada anlamlılık düzeyi p lt;0,05 olarak belirlenmiştir. Analiz sonucunda mesleki tükenmişlik ve mesleki tutum arasında ters yönlü yüksek düzeyde bir korelasyon görülmüştür. Bunun yanında medeni durum, yaş, hizmet süresi, cinsiyet, yaşanılan şehir ve eğitim seviyesi gibi değişkenler ile mesleki tutum ve tükenmişlik arasında kurumdan kuruma değişmekle birlikte anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Yerleşim yeri, unvan ve mesleği seçme nedeninin ise mesleki tutum ve tükenmişlik açısından tüm kurumlarda benzer bir etkiye sahip olduğu görülmüştür. Ulaşılan sonuçlar araştırmacı tarafından yorumlanmış, ayrıca sonuçlardan hareketle bazı önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

Angiomyxoma is a soft-tissue lesion found particularly in women who are of childbearing age. It is mostly encountered in perineal, pelvic, and gluteal area. Due to its recurring nature, surgical intervention is necessary. In our case, a 39-year-old female patient who was operated with the perianal hemangioma pre-diagnosis and whose patholog-ic evaluation was reported as angiomyxoma was presented.

Objective This multi-center study aims to determine the efficiency and safety of endometrial myomectomy (EM) for the removal of uterine fibroids during cesarean section (CS). Methods Retrospective review of 360 women diagnosed for fibroids during pregnancy. They all delivered by CS between 2014 and 2019. The study groups included 118 women who only underwent EM, 120 women who only had subserosal myomectomy by traditional technique and 122 women with fibroids who decided to avoid cesarean myomectomy, as control group. They were analyzed and compared the surgical outcomes. Results The EM, subserosal myomectomy and control groups were statistically (p > 0.05) similar for to age, body mass index (BMI), gravidity, parity, gestational age at delivery, indications for CS, number of excised fibroids, size of the largest myoma. Postoperative hemoglobin values and ? (?) hemoglobin concentrations were lower in SM group (10.39gr/dl vs 9.98 gr/dl vs 10.19 – 1.44 gr/dl vs 1.90 gr/dl vs 1.35; p = 0.047, p = 0.021; respectively) Hybrid fibroids were significantly more frequent in the EM group than subserosal myomectomy and control groups (respectively, 33.1% vs 23.3% vs 27.0%, p = 0.002). Surgery time was significantly longer in the subserosal myomectomy group than EM and control groups (respectively, 46.53 min vs 37.88 min vs 33.86 min, p = 0.001). Myomectomy took significantly longer time in the subserosal myomectomy than EM group (13.75 min vs 8.17 min, p = 0.001). Conclusions Endometrial myomectomy is a feasible choice for treatment of fibroids during CS, and, basing on our results could be an alternative to traditional cesarean subserosal myomectomy.

Purpose: We aimed to evaluate epidemiological, characteristic features and treatment methods of patients who have been treated in pediatric burn center due to contact burns and to share our experiences. Materials and Methods: Files of patients were evaluated retrospectively. Gender, age, contact mechanisms, localization, total-burnedsurface areas, depth of burn, time between day-of-burn and admission to the burn center, whether grafting was made, length-of-stay in hospital, whether hypertrophic scar and contractures developed were recorded. Then, it was investigated whether there was a difference between genders, and at what age intervals and in which months contact burns were seen more frequently. Bir ülkenin bir döneminin tarihini yazmak bazen siyasi liderlerin de tarihini yazmak anlamına gelmektedir. Süleyman Demirel de Türk siyasi hayatında bu özellikteki isimlerden olarak görülebilir. Süleyman Demirel’in 20. yüzyılın ikinci yarısında başlayan siyasi yaşamı fiili olarak 21. yüzyılın ilk yılının ilk yarısında son buldu. Türk siyasetinde belli bir ağırlığı olan Süleyman Demirel’in hayatı, bir biyografi olarak, Prof. Dr. Feroz Ahmad’ın danışmanlığında Murat Arslan tarafından Siyaset Bilimi ve Uluslararası İlişkiler Anabilim Dalı’nda doktora tezi olarak 2017’de tamamlanıp 2019’da İletişim Yayınları etiketiyle raflardaki yerini aldı.

The aim of this research is to adapt the scales "Homework Management, Homework Effort, Teacher Homework Involvement, Teacher Feedback and Parental Homework Support" into Turkish. The research data were collected from 1,698 secondary school students in grades 5 to 8. The sample was divided into four subgroups and explanatory factor analysis was conducted on two groups and confirmatory factor analysis was conducted on two groups. Concurrent validity analyses were carried out on all students. Data were collected from students studying in 24 classes of six different secondary schools in the Maltepe, Kartal and Pendik regions of Istanbul. 49.12% of this group of students are girls and 50.88% are boys, and the mean age of the participants is 11.84 years. In addition to the scales adapted to the Turkish language, homework behavior (homework completion, time spent on homework, going to school without homework) and academic achievement were measured for concurrent validity. The results of the EFA and CFA analyses were similar to the original scales for all scales. These findings regarding the number of sub-dimensions, the placement of scale items within these sub-dimensions, and the concurrent validity scores indicate that the Turkish versions of the five scales are valid and reliable for assessing mathematics homework at the secondary school level.

This study offers a descriptive analysis and classification of drama techniques that can be used in foreign language teaching. The aim is to provide language teachers and practitioners with accessible techniques that can be easily utilized in major stages and skills of the language teaching process as needed. The method of the study includes descriptive analysis and classification, resulting in the identification of five major categories of drama techniques. These include introduction and warm-up techniques, awareness-raising techniques, self-confidence and motivation techniques, techniques for speaking and listening skills, and techniques for reading and writing skills. For each category, several techniques were selected and described as examples. It is hoped that this study will make these techniques more available to teachers and researchers, ultimately improving language teaching practices. Since there seems to be no study in the literature on the classification of drama techniques in terms of language teaching, we hope that this study will fill an important gap.

Over the last two decades, cyberbullying has gained increasing attention from the research community as the phenomenon has become a public health issue affecting children, adolescents, and young adults. Although several instruments assess cyberbullying worldwide, many still need to be adequately validated in different languages, countries, and cultures. The European Cyberbullying Intervention Project Questionnaire (ECIPQ) is one instrument that aims to measure two dimensions of cyberbullying: cyber-victimization and cyber-aggression. Although the instrument has been translated into various languages and validated in several European and non-European countries, validation studies have yet to be conducted in Turkish culture. This study aimed to adapt the ECIPQ into Turkish and to investigate the psychometric quality of the instrument in Turkish population. A total sample of 632 college students participated in the study. Along with the ECIPQ, the Buss-Perry Aggression Questionnaire, the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, and the Satisfaction with Life Scale were administered for validation purposes. The results showed that the Turkish version of the ECIPQ had sufficient internal consistency. The confirmatory factor analysis supported the two-factor structure of the ECIPQ. The ECIPQ showed adequate convergent validity, as evidenced by the positive correlation between the cyberbullying and aggression scores and the negative correlation between cyberbullying and self-esteem scores. In conclusion, the ECIPQ can be considered a psychometrically sound measure to assess Turkish college students' perceived cyber-aggression and cyber-victimization levels.

Increasing research reveals the impact of technostress on life satisfaction among academics. In line with the determined purpose, it is first determined whether there is a significant difference in terms of technostress and life satisfaction between demographic variables such as age, gender, field of science and years of experience. Secondly, an answer was sought to the question of whether there was a significant impact of technostress on life satisfaction. To achieve the determined research purpose, the relational scanning model was used. The study involved 342 academic participants working at different universities in Kyrgyzstan who agreed to participate voluntarily. The research was conducted with 342 academics, 207 women and 135 men. To analyze the data obtained, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation analysis and linear regression analysis were used. As a result of the research, it was determined that there was a low level of negative association between life satisfaction and the socially focused technostress sub-dimension score among the technostress sub-dimensions. Life satisfaction and general technostress level were determined to be permanent and significant among the technostress sub-dimensions such as profession-oriented, technical subject-oriented learning-teaching process-oriented and personal technostress sub-dimensions. The regression analysis revealed that general technostress emerged, but the sub-dimensions showed no influence on life satisfaction, and that single socially focused technostress had a negative predictive impact on life satisfaction.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Van yöresine ait halk masallarını değer aktarımı açısından incelemektir. Bu bağlamda ilgili masallardaki değerler tespit edilmiş, öğretim programlarında ifade edilen on kök değer ve bu değerlerin dışında yer alan değerler açısından önemleri ortaya konulmuştur. Bu çalışmada “temel nitel araştırma” deseni kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın inceleme materyali Kasımoğlu (2010) tarafından yazılmış doktora tezinde yer alan Van yöresine ait 70 halk masalıdır. Çalışmada doküman incelemesine göre elde edilen veriler, içerik analiziyle çözümlenmiş, sıklık açısından değerlendirilmiş ve yorumlanmıştır. Çalışma sonunda Van yöresine ait halk masallarında kök değerlerin tamamına ait örneklerin bulunduğu ve en çok yardımseverlik (93), sevgi (44), sabır (32), saygı (32) ve dürüstlük (27) kök değerlerine yer verildiği tespit edilmiştir. Masallarda kök değerlerin dışında ise 40 farklı değerin olduğu saptanmıştır. Bu değerlerin içinde en fazla dini değerlere duyarlılık (67), estetik (51), azimli olma (37), cesaret/cesur olma (26), geleneksellik (25) ve nezaket/kibarlık (25) değerlerine yönelik örneklerin olduğu görülmüştür. Bu sonuçlara göre Van yöresine ait halk masallarının değer aktarımı açısından zengin olduğu ifade edilebilir. Çalışmanın sonunda öneriler sunulmuştur.

ABSTRACT Background: Elevated levels of chemerin can predict future ischemic cerebrovascular disease. Although chemerin is thought to play a role in atherosclerotic inflammation, whether circulating chemerin levels are associated with the severity of atherosclerosis remains to be determined. Objectives: Through the use of carotid Doppler ultrasonography, our aim in this study was to investigate the relationships of serum chemerin levels with carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT) as an indicator of generalized atherosclerosis. Methods: This study compared 40 patients with ischemic stroke and 40 healthy subjects. Measurements were made at end-diastole using color Doppler ultrasonography (CDUS) after a 5-min rest interval in a quiet and dark room. CIMT was defined as the distance between the innermost edge of the luminal echo to the innermost edge of the media/adventitia echo. CIMT was measured in the posterior wall of both common carotid arteries within 1 cm proximally to the bulbus. Three measurements were made on both sides and the average measurement was taken as the CIMT. Serum chemerin levels were determined in all patients and healthy subjects. Objective:This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of eprinomectin, moxidectin and fenbendazole for treating Dentostomella translucida infections in naturally infected Mongolian gerbils (Meriones unguiculatus).Methods:A total of 28 gerbils were placed in individually numbered cages to determine the individual animal parasite load. Eggs per gram (EPG) counts were used to estimate the efficacy of the drugs. The day before the anthelmintic administration was denoted as day 0, and the EPG counts were determined by the McMaster technique from the stool removed from the cage bottom on days 7, 14, 21 and 28. The animals were assigned to one of four treatment groups according to their day 0 EPG counts. The orally administered drugs in the treatment groups were eprinomectin (15 mg/kg), moxidectin (0.4 mg/kg) and fenbendazole (12 mg/kg) for groups 1-3, respectively. The fourth group served as the control (without any drug administration).Results:Treatment efficacy was evaluated based on weekly EPG counts. The values decreased to zero in the fenbendazole group at 4 weeks of follow-up after treatment, and no parasite was found in any of the repeated examinations. The eprinomectin and moxidectin groups exhibited a fluctuating EPG state on both individual and group basis.Conclusion:D. translucida, which is known as the specific parasite of gerbils, can easily affect other members of the animal colony; thus, the control of its presence in gerbil breeding units is necessary. Therefore, the reported effective drug treatments are important for the fight against the investigated parasitic infection.

Here, a molecular imprinting technique was employed to create an SPR-based nanosensor for the selective and sensitive detection of organophosphate-based coumaphos, a toxic insecticide/veterinary drug often used. To achieve this, UV polymerization was used to create polymeric nanofilms using N-methacryloyl-l-cysteine methyl ester, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate, and 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate, which are functional monomers, cross-linkers, and hydrophilicity enabling agents, respectively. Several methods, including scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and contact angle (CA) analyses, were used to characterize the nanofilms. Using coumaphos-imprinted SPR (CIP-SPR) and non-imprinted SPR (NIP-SPR) nanosensor chips, the kinetic evaluations of coumaphos sensing were investigated. The created CIP-SPR nanosensor demonstrated high selectivity to the coumaphos molecule compared to similar competitor molecules, including diazinon, pirimiphos-methyl, pyridaphenthion, phosalone, N-2,4(dimethylphenyl) formamide, 2,4-dimethylaniline, dimethoate, and phosmet. Additionally, there is a magnificent linear relationship for the concentration range of 0.1–250 ppb, with a low limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) of 0.001 and 0.003 ppb, respectively, and a high imprinting factor (I.F.4.4) for coumaphos. The Langmuir adsorption model is the best appropriate thermodynamic approach for the nanosensor. Intraday trials were performed three times with five repetitions to statistically evaluate the CIP-SPR nanosensor’s reusability. Reusability investigations for the two weeks of interday analyses also indicated the three-dimensional stability of the CIP-SPR nanosensor. The remarkable reusability and reproducibility of the procedure are indicated by an RSD% result of less than 1.5. Therefore, it has been determined that the generated CIP-SPR nanosensors are highly selective, rapidly responsive, simple to use, reusable, and sensitive for coumaphos detection in an aqueous solution. An amino acid, which was used to detect coumaphos, included a CIP-SPR nanosensor manufactured without complicated coupling methods and labelling processes. Liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS-MS) studies was performed for the validation studies of the SPR.

Water contamination by heavy metal pollution is induced by rapid industrialization and urbanization. Removal of heavy metal ions from wastewater is of prime importance for a clean environment and human health. The heavy metal problem is seriously threatened to human health. In addition, these metals are toxic and carcinogenic. They cause serious problems for aquatic ecosystems and especially humans. Different methods have been utilized to remove heavy metals from the wastewater, such as membrane filtration, adsorption, and ion exchange. Adsorption is one of the most efficient processes to clean contaminated water. The adsorption process presents advantages such as availability, low cost, and eco-friendly nature. The commercial adsorbents and the polymeric adsorbents are showed a high removal capacity for heavy metal ions capturing and removing from wastewater. Several researchers have widely used cryogels as a unique bio-adsorbent for heavy metals removal from wastewaters. Cryogels are efficient for the removal of heavy metal ions. This manuscript comprehensively and critically reviews current research in heavy metal adsorption by cryogels that prepared various technology and highlights the main advantages of these materials. Cryogels are synthetic polymers used in adsorption experiments in recent years. Because of their macropores, they provide an excellent advantage as an adsorbent in continuous and batch adsorption processes. The process applied for cryogel formation is called cryogelation. These macroporous gel matrices can be produced with different shapes and the gels are of interest in the bioseparation area since they can meet needs that conventional chromatographic media are less suitable to fulfill. The structure, synthesis, and composition of various cryogels are presented. Cryogels are generally synthesized by bulk polymerization under semifrozen conditions at −12 and 18°C for 12 to 24 h. The cryogels have a high removal capacity rate of over 90%. In the cryogels based studies, Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), thermal, surface area, elemental, and computerized microtomography (μCT) analyses can be used for the characterization of cryogels structure.

In this study, tetracycline and streptomycin group antibiotic residues were investigated in packaged and open sold honey. For this purpose, a total of 60 honey samples, which were 30 of each were used as material. Honey samples were taken from various sales places located in Sivas province. ELISA method was used for the analysis and commercial test kits were used. According to the analysis results; tetracycline was found in 73.3% (22 samples) of the packaged honey and streptomycin was found in all samples. Tetracycline and streptomycin were determined as positive in open honeys were respectively 60% (18 samples) and 93.3% (28 samples). Tetracycline levels were between 0.12-371.43 ppb (mean 13.91 ± 12.33) in packaged honey and 0.02-13.32 ppb (mean 1.75 ± 0.5) in open honeys. Streptomycin levels were 1.30-250.2 ppb (mean 25.8 ± 10.8) in packaged honey and 0.19-22.71 ppb (mean 8.21 ± 5.2) in open honeys. Antibiotic residue was not found in one sample of open honeys. The findings suggest that, although illegal, some medicines are used in beekeeping or that bees are exposed to antibiotics that are added to the feed or water of other animals. These findings pose a potential risk to the consumer.
