BACKGROUND: Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), such as Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) transmitted by biological, socioeconomic and cultural factors that increase the vulnerability of certain population groups such as civil construction workers. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the knowledge of workers in the construction industry about infection by HIV and associated factors. METHODS: A cross-sectional, analytical study was conducted, including 381 construction workers, in the cities of João Pessoa, Cabedelo, and Santa Rita, in the State of Paraíba, Brazil, performed through interviews, using a data collection instrument with social demographic variables and the HIV Knowledge Questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive measures, and for comparison between the categories the Kruskal-Wallis test was used, with margin of error of 5%. RESULTS: A predominance of male workers was observed (97.4%) among 381 workers; aged 30-39 (34.1%); married (81.4%); with up to eight years of education (66.6%); family income of up to 2x the minimum wage (52.8%) and coming from the country (43.8%). The average of correct responses was 63.3%, with higher indices (70.0%) related to transmission and forms of prevention. There were higher percentages of hits among those who had studied for 12 years or more. Workers from the capital of Paraíba presented a higher number of correct responses (67.44%). CONCLUSIONS: There is a low index of knowledge of construction workers about HIV, highlighting their consequent vulnerability to acquiring this infection. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper introduces an evolutionary algorithm for objective functions defined over clouds of points of varying sizes. Such design variables are modeled as uniform discrete measures with finite support and the crossover and mutation operators of the algorithm are defined using the Wasserstein barycenter. We prove that the Wasserstein-based crossover has a contracting property in the sense that the support of the generated measure is included in the closed convex hull of the union of the two parents' supports. We introduce boundary mutations to counteract this contraction. Variants of evolutionary operators based on Wasserstein barycenters are studied. We compare the resulting algorithm to a more classical, sequence-based, evolutionary algorithm on a family of test functions that include a wind-farm layout problem. The results show that Wasserstein-based evolutionary operators better capture the underlying geometrical structures of the considered test functions and outperform a reference evolutionary algorithm in the vast majority of the cases. A basic fact, having fundamental significance in quantum mechanics, is that hermitian (or self-adjoint) operators have only real eigenvalues. However, in certain applications in molecular physics, one deals with non-hermitian operators. We discuss a condition for non-hermitian operators to have real eigenvalues, proving that it is the case if and only if it can be decomposed as a product of two, generally non-commuting hermitian operators, one of which is positive definite. In this study, some constructions related to interval generalized set-valued neutrosophic quintuple sets and score and certainty functions are given. Moreover, optimistic union, pessimistic union, mean union, optimistic intersection, pessimistic intersection and mean intersection operators are defined for interval generalized set-valued neutrosophic quintuple set. Thus, interval generalized set-valued neutrosophic quintuple set are effectively used in decision making applications. An example application was realised using these operators and functions. With this application, the use of operators and functions in decision making methods was demonstrated. In addition, it was concluded that similar or different results can be obtained by using different operators. In addition, the importance of choosing the appropriate operator for the problem in decision making applications was mentioned for the decision making process. Purpose – Using real-time support systems may help operators in road construction to improve paving and compaction operations. Nowadays, these systems transform from descriptive to prescriptive systems. Prescriptive or operator guidance systems propose operators actionable compaction strategies and guidance, based on the data collected. It is investigated how these systems mediate the perceptions and actions of operators in road pavement practice. Design/methodology/approach – A case study is conducted on the specific application of an operator guidance system in a road pavement project. In this case study, comprehensive information is presented regarding the process of converting input in the form of data from cameras and sensors into useful output. The ways in which the operator guidance systems translate data into actionable guidance for operators are analyzed from the technological mediation perspective. Findings – Operator guidance systems mediate actions of operators physically, cognitively and contextually. These different types of action mediation are related to preconditions for successful implementation and use of these systems. Coercive interventions only succeed if there is widespread agreement among the operators. Persuasive interventions are most effective when collective and individual interests align. Contextual influence relates to designs of the operator guidance systems that determine human-technology interactions when using them. Originality/value – This is the first study that analyzes the functioning of an operator guidance system using the technological mediation approach. It adds a new perspective on the interaction between this system and its users in road pavement practice.

This article offers a perspective from Old English on the diachronic development of aspectual verbs. Within the theoretical framework of Role and Reference Grammar, this study shows a situation of competition between finite and non-finite complementation that predicts a change on the diachronic axis. The fact that not only the first argument but also verbal operators are shared by the matrix and the linked predication motivates the change from the looser syntax of finite complementation to the tighter syntax of non-finite complementation. In this article, the author analyzes the current state and development prospects of Ukraine’s stock market. A developed stock market ensures the economic growth of a country. For its functioning, institutional measures, market infrastructure, investment opportunities (market breadth), available resources and investment objects, and market trends are essential. The author notes a decrease in the number of market organizers in Ukraine and a reduction in the volume of exchange contracts from 2014 to 2022. The growth in trading in 2023 was driven by an increase in military domestic government bonds. Domestic government bonds have averaged 93.2% of all exchange contracts over the past ten years, reflecting the status of Ukraine’s stock market as a sector serving state needs for resource mobilization rather than fostering the economic development of industries, the private sector, and investment expansion. The main factors influencing the state of Ukraine’s stock market include the war, its impact on the economy, and institutional factors. Collaboration with international organizations, integration into the European Union, opening Ukraine’s market to foreign issuers, and the development of mobile applications and electronic trading platforms contribute to the development of Ukraine’s stock market. However, the prolongation of military actions, significant infrastructure damage, environmental harm, and the overall deterioration of the economy worsen the market’s development prospects. The presence of significant investment potential in the country, mechanisms for privatizing state enterprises, adherence to international standards, and readiness for market reforms can drive changes in the post-war period. Despite the substantial literature and human factors guidance, evaluators report challenges in selecting cognitive workload measures for the evaluation of complex human–technology systems. A review of 32 articles found that self-report measures and secondary tasks were systematically sensitive to human–system interface conditions and correlated with physiological measures. Therefore, including a self-report measure of cognitive workload is recommended when evaluating human–system interfaces. Physiological measures were mainly used in method studies, and future research must demonstrate the utility of these measures for human–system evaluation in complex work settings. However, indexes of physiological measures showed promise for cognitive workload assessment. The review revealed a limited focus on the measurement of excessive cognitive workload, although this is a key topic in nuclear process control. To support human–system evaluation of adequate cognitive workload, future research on behavioural measures may be useful in the identification and analysis of underload and overload. This review provides background for the selection of cognitive workload measures for the evaluation of complex human–technology systems and identifies future research needs for applied cognitive workload assessment. Neural architecture search (NAS), as a subfield of automated machine learning, can design neural network models with better performance than manual design. However, the energy and time consumptions of conventional software‐based NAS are huge, hindering its development and applications. Herein, 4 Mb phase change memory (PCM) chips are first fabricated that enable two key in‐memory computing operations—in‐memory multiply‐accumulate (MAC) and in‐memory rank for efficient NAS. The impacts of the coating layer material are systematically analyzed for the blade‐type heating electrode on the device uniformity and in turn NAS performance. The random weights in the searched network architecture can be fine‐tuned in the last stage. With 512 × 512 arrays based on 40 nm CMOS process, the PCM‐based NAS has achieved 25–53× smaller model size and better performance than manually designed networks and improved the energy and time efficiency by 4779× and 123×, respectively, compared with NAS running on graphic processing unit (GPU). This work can expand the hardware accelerated in‐memory operators, and significantly extend the applications of in‐memory computing enabled by nonvolatile memory in advanced machine learning tasks. The information in the real world often contains many properties such as fuzziness, randomness, and approximation. Although existing linguistic collections attempt to solve these problems, with the emergence of more and more constraints and challenges, this information cannot fully express the problem, leading to an increasing demand for methods that can contain multiple uncertain information. In this paper, we comprehensively consider the various characteristics of information including membership degree, credibility and approximation based on rough sets, and propose the concept of χ -linguistic sets (χ LSs), which depend on original data rather than prior knowledge and effectively solve the problem of incomplete information representation. At the same time, the corresponding theories such as the comparison method and operational rules have also been proposed. Subsequently, we construct a new χ -linguistic VIKOR (χ LVIKOR) method for multi-attribute group decision making (MAGDM) problem with χ LSs, and apply it to the risk assessment of COVID-19. The World Bank has reported that over one billion individuals have a disability, implying that almost fifteen percent of the global inhabitants are susceptible to undergoing levels of discrimination, especially in employment. This issue may prevail on a manufacturing shop floor, whereby a wave of standardisation dominates such as in the design of shop floor workstations. Despite advances made in the literature, people with disabilities are still siloed from manufacturing. Consequently, the aim of this research work was to analyse literature's current state of the art on the design of workstations for operators with disabilities within the context of Industry 5.0, where sustainability, human-centricity, and resilience are upheld. The study employed a systematic review of 69 publications from Scopus and Google Scholar published between 2013 and 2023, adhering to the updated PRISMA guidelines to identify the major research gaps. The review contributes an understanding of the current academic and industrial limitations such as the absence of social applicability of Industry 4.0 technology, the rift between academic knowhow and industrial implementation, and the lack of alignment with the sustainable development goals (SDGs). Additionally, the review uncovered an absence in work bridging four disciplines together: workstation design, Industry 5.0, sustainability, and disability. An unprecedented understanding of the interdependency between all four disciplines within the remit of smart, sustainable, and inclusive manufacturing workstations is contributed. In this paper, we showed some generalized refinements and reverses of arithmetic-geometric-harmonic means (AM-GM-HM) inequalities due to Sababheh [J. Math. Inequal. 12 (2018), 901–920]. Among other results, it was shown that if $ a, b > 0 $, $ 0 < p\leq t < 1 $ and $ m\in\mathbb{N^{+}} $, then $ \begin{align*} \frac{(a\nabla_{p}b)^{m}-(a!_{p}b)^{m}}{(a\nabla_{ t}b)^{m}-(a!_{ t}b)^{m}}\leq\frac{p(1-p)}{ t(1- t)} \end{align*} $ and $ \begin{align*} \frac{(a\sharp _{p} b)^{m}-(a!_{p}b)^{m}}{(a\sharp _{ t} b)^{m}-(a!_{ t}b)^{m}}\leq\frac{p(1-p)}{ t(1- t)} \end{align*} $ for $ b\geq a $, and the inequalities are reversed for $ b\leq a $. Background: Whilst some research has explored the impact of COVID-19 on gambling behaviour, little is yet known about online search behaviours for gambling during this period. The current study explored gambling-related online searches before, during and after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in the UK.We also assessed whether search trends were related to Gambling Commission behavioural data over the same period. Methods: Google Trends™ search data, covering thirty months from January 2020 to June 2022, for five gambling activities and five gambling operators were downloaded. Graphical displays of the weekly relative search values over this period were then produced to visualise trends in search terms, with key dates in COVID-19 policy and sporting events highlighted. Cross-correlations between seasonally adjusted monthly search data and behavioural indices were conducted. Results: Sharp increases in internet searches for poker, slots, and bingo were evident during the first lockdown in the UK, with operator searches sharply decreasing over this period. No changes in gambling activity searches were highlighted during subsequent lockdowns, although small increases in operator-based searches were detected. Strong positive correlations were found between search data and industry data for sports betting and poker but not for slots. Conclusions: Google Trends™ data may act as an indicator of population-level gambling behaviour. Substitution of preferred gambling activities for others may have occurred during the first lockdown when opportunities for sports betting were limited. The Operator Argument against eternalism holds that having non-vacuous tense operators in the language is incompatible with the claim that every proposition has its truth-value eternally. Assuming that (1) there are non-vacuous tense operators, (2) tense operators operate on propositions and (3) tense operators which operate on eternal entities are vacuous, it may be argued that eternalism is false. In this paper, I examine the Operator Argument. The goal is threefold. First, I want to present some aspects of the debate in a more elaborate way, especially those concerning formal matters. Secondly, I will argue that eternalism can escape the Operator Argument. There are two main strategies for handling the Operator Argument. The first one is based on replacing temporal operators with object-language quantifiers. The second rejects the identification of compositional semantic value with assertoric content. My third goal is to show that none of them is as good as the strategy that adopts Timestamp Semantics (Fritz in Philosl Stud 176:2933–2959, 2019 ). I am going to argue that the quantificational treatment of tenses is compatible with temporalism and that the arguments for rejecting the identification of compositional semantic value with assertoric content provide, in fact, a motivation for the temporalist position. In this work, we extend the theory of differential equations to differential-anti-differential equations and solve several types of such equations. To do this, first, we define a derivative-antiderivative operator with a base function and express derivatives and antiderivatives in the form of this operator. Next, we come to differential-anti-differential equations. To solve some of these equations, first, we investigate the Auxiliary equation(s) and find the roots. Roots are then used in the base function to get the exact solutions of the differential-anti-differential equation. The process can be used to solve several well-known differential equations such as Continuity, Heat, Wave, Laplace, Schrodinger, Euler, Blasius, etc. Our technique shows that every elementary function can solve several types of linear and non-linear ordinary as well as partial differential-anti-differential equations. In the modern era, marked by various and increasingly complex forms of inter-personal or institutional relationship of the natural persons, in the most diverse fields, such as banking, legal, communications, social media, educational and economic, carried out through the IT communication systems, which involve the processing of some various elements of a personal nature and of other aspects related to the dynamism of private life, it is raised for discussion the identification of some optimal ways to ensure the correctness and proportionality of the way of processing all this information by the operators legally authorized in this sense or by the persons empowered by these operators for the manner of carrying out the operations, automatizated or not, that involve the use of these data. It is also under discussion whether the state has any obligation in this field, in the event of insufficiency or defectiveness of the manner of regulating the means of control and of verification concerning the correctness of the processing of these data by the persons or institutions authorized in this field. The significant challenges with regard to the structuring of a balanced normative framework, which should stimulate and contribute to the development of the modern means of communication between private persons, as well as of institutional relationship between these and the state authorities are overcome only by the difficulties inherent to the systematization of the legislation necessary and appropriate to control the flow of personal information registered, stored, processed and used by the authorized operators or by the persons mandated by them, in the field under analysis. In this sense, considerable and constant efforts have been made at the level of the European Union to improve the legislation related to the processing of personal data, finalized with the adoption of the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and regarding the free movement of these data, from which a series of relevant principles can be extracted to ensure an effective legal control regarding the mode of operation of this information and which constitute a good legal foundation for the development of some national normative systems, relevant and adequate for the protection of the private life of the natural persons, in terms of the processing of their data. The same regulation represents, at the same time, also the legal basis for engaging the main and direct liability of the authorized operators in the field of personal data processing, of the persons mandated by them in this field or of the authorized recipients of these data, the latter being confused usually with the assignees of such information. In the event that the state does not properly fulfil its negative obligation to refrain from any steps towards the processing, outside the legal order, of these data or does not respect its positive obligation to undertake any necessary and sufficient steps for holding accountable the guilty persons for an improper, inopportune or unreasonable use of these data, it is raised the issue whether the state, in its capacity as a generic guarantor in creating an adequate legal framework for the protection of these elements, has a subsidiary and objective liability or not in order to remove all the damages caused to natural persons injured by an unjustified or inadequate processing of their personal data, a question to which we intend to give a reasoned answer within this legal approach. With the rapid development of civil aviation industry, more and more tasks are required to fuel the aircraft. At present, the aircraft refueling task is mainly assigned to the refueling personnel by the dispatcher of the fuel supplier, one by one, according to the flight refueling information, after receiving the task, the refueling operator drives the refueling vehicle to the aircraft for refueling operation. The realization of electronic, information and big data analysis technology has gradually opened up the information channel of refueling system. Based on a large number of multi-dimensional data, according to the characteristics of aircraft refueling operation, an intelligent dispatching method for aircraft refueling vehicle is provided, which can automatically assign refueling tasks, avoid flight delays and the resulting serious waste of resources and can reduce the workload of the dispatcher. Through the intelligent dispatch, refueling resources can be reasonably allocated to ensure the timely refueling of aircraft and smooth completion of flight support tasks.

For mining processes to operate safely, information about safety is crucial. Numerous authors pay attention to fostering a good safety climate without paying attention to safety communication across organizational structure, which motivates this survey. Accordingly, this paper aims to check the hypothesis whether there is a difference between the attitudes of managers, operators, and auxiliary workers in the mining industry regarding safety communication, since differences on their attitudes about safety communication issues have potential to cause safety performance. A survey of 123 respondents working in different positions in Serbian mining companies, which have evaluated the importance of communication as well as the current state regarding the quality of communication in their organizations, was conducted. After evaluating the data and conducting descriptive statistics, followed by the Mann-Whitney test, it was determined that there are no statistically significant differences in the attitudes of managers, operators, and support staff toward safety communication. This indicates that issues with an organization's safety performance are not brought on by the differences on safety attitudes at different hierarchical levels. Proposal for the future research is to examine other possible causes, such as cognitive biases in risk perception, safety training and education and similar, and to use larger sample that may confirm our hypothesis.

Consider the power series with complex coefficients h(z)=∑k=0∞akzk and its modified version ha(z)=∑k=0∞|ak|zk. In this article, we explore the application of certain Hölder-type inequalities for deriving various inequalities for operators acting on the aforementioned power series. We establish these inequalities under the assumption of the convergence of h(z) on the open disk D(0,ρ), where ρ denotes the radius of convergence. Additionally, we investigate the norm and numerical radius inequalities associated with these concepts.

The main focus of this paper is on establishing inequalities for the norm and numerical radius of various operators applied to a power series with the complex coefficients h(λ)=∑k=0∞akλk and its modified version ha(λ)=∑k=0∞|ak|λk. The convergence of h(λ) is assumed on the open disk D(0,R), where R is the radius of convergence. Additionally, we explore some operator inequalities related to these concepts. The findings contribute to our understanding of operator behavior in bounded operator spaces and offer insights into norm and numerical radius inequalities.
