We report an efficient [3+2] cycloaddition protocol for the synthesis of pyrazolo[1,2‐a]pyrazolones from Morita‐Baylis‐Hillman adducts and N,N'‐cyclic azomethine imines. The R‐BINOL chiral phosphoric acid was identified as the suitable catalyst for the reported cycloaddition protocol. Almost all MBH adducts regioselectively delivered 7‐oxo‐pyrazolo[1,2‐a]pyrazoles at an efficient yield of 69–91 %. With exception, the MBH adducts derived from acrylonitrile deliver 5‐oxo‐pyrazolo[1,2‐a]pyrazoles comparatively at a higher yield than the 7‐oxo‐pyrazolo[1,2‐a]pyrazoles. The density functional theory (DFT) studies demonstrate that the reaction is thermodynamically more feasible in the presence of R‐BINOL chiral phosphoric acid. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Efficient nanocomposites, GO-Psf and RGO-Psf has been synthesised from polysulfone and graphene oxide. The synthesised nanomaterials were characterised using contact angle measurements, SEM, TEM, XRD, TGA, DSC, Raman and FT-IR analytical techniques. The reported polymeric nanomaterials are attractive due to their high surface area and thermal stability. The maximum adsorption capacity for ciprofloxacin is 82.781 mg/g and 21.486 mg/g on GO-Psf and RGO-Psf, respectively. The kinetic and adsorption analysis identifies the nanomaterials as attractive adsorbents for removal of antibiotic pollutant, ciprofloxacin from aqueous solution. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The direct transformation of Morita-Baylis-Hillman (MBH) adducts into molecules of interest is a crucial process wherein allylic hydroxy-protected or halogenated MBH adducts are commonly preferred. Herein, we report an azidophosphonium salt (AzPS)-catalysed straight forward protocol for synthesising structurally demanding ( E )/( Z )-cinnamyl-1 H -1,2,3-triazoles and halomethylcoumarins from MBH adducts.
