Background: Magnetoencephalography (MEG) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are non‐invasive imaging techniques that offer effective means for disease diagnosis. A more straightforward and optimized method is presented for designing gradient coils which are pivotal parts of the above imaging systems. Purpose: A novel design method based on stream function combining an optimization algorithm is proposed to obtain highly linear gradient coil. Methods: Two‐dimensional Fourier expansion of the current field on the surface where the coil is located and the equipotential line of the expansion term superposition according to the number of turns of the coil are used to represent the coil shape. Particle swarm optimization is utilized to optimize the coil shape while linearity and field uniformity are used as parameters to evaluate the coil performance. Through this method, the main parameters such as input current distribution region, coil turns, desired magnetic field strength, expansion order and iteration times can be combined in a given solution space to optimize coil design. Results: Simulation results show that the maximum linearity spatial deviation of the designed bi‐planar x‐gradient coil compared with that of target field method is reduced from 14% to 0.54%, and that of the bi‐planar z‐gradient coil is reduced from 8.98% to 0.52%. Similarly, that of the cylindrical x‐gradient coil is reduced from 2% to 0.1%, and that of the cylindrical z‐gradient coil is reduced from 0.87% to 0.45%. The similar results are found in the index of inhomogeneity error. Moreover, it has also been verified experimentally that the result of measured magnetic field is consist with simulated result. Conclusions: The proposed method provides a straightforward way that simplifies the design process and improves the linearity of designed gradient coil, which could be beneficial to realize better magnetic field in engineering applications. The Boltzmann equation of kinetic theory gives a statistical description of a gas of interacting particles. It is well known that the Boltzmann equation is related to the Euler and Navier–Stokes equations in the field of gas dynamics. In this paper we are concerned with the incompressible Navier–Stokes–Fourier limit of the Boltzmann equation. We prove the incompressible Navier–Stokes–Fourier limit globally in time and the time decay rate of the solution to the rescaled Boltzmann equation in a torus. For ɛ small, by using the truncated expansion and L x , v 2 – L x , v ∞ method, we prove such a limit for the general potentials γ ∈ (− 3 , 1 ] . [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Multistep prediction of high-dimensional time series is an essential and challenging task. In this study, we propose an integrated reservoir predictor for making accurate and robust multistep-ahead forecasts based on short-term high-dimensional time series. Initially, a conjugated pair of Spatiotemporal Information (STI) equations is derived using Takens' embedding theory to transform the spatial information of high-dimensional variables into one-dimensional temporal information of the target variable and vice versa. Next, by exploiting reservoir networks, reservoir-based STI equations are established to efficiently capture nonlinear dynamics of the target system with only linear optimization. Then, through an integration phase, the integrated reservoir predictor can output precise and robust predictions of the multistep-ahead states of any target variable. The integrated reservoir predictor outperforms some other prediction methods (including reservoir computing, long-short-term-memory network, convolutional neural network and support vector regression), when applied to classical dynamic systems (e.g. 60D double scroll model, 40D Lorenz 96 model, and 60D Rössler model) and real-world datasets (solar generation data and PM2.5 concentration records), as indicated by evaluation metrics such as Pearson correlation coefficients exceeding 0.9 and root-mean-square errors below 0.3, even in the presence of noise in training data. Generally, the soil requires to be compacted in highway construction. The expansive soil is a special type of soil that is highly susceptible to variations in water content, which affects the degree of compaction at the same compaction energy. In the present study, a series of wet compaction tests and dry compaction tests were carried out in the laboratory. Laboratory test results show that dry compaction will produce a higher optimum water content and a higher maximum dry unit weight compared to wet compaction, because its matric suction is smaller. Field compaction tests were also conducted, the results showed that there might be a risk of under-compacting soils during construction caused by different water content change path in actual field conditions. Anisodus tanguticus (Maxinowicz) Pascher (Solanaceae) is a traditional Chinese herb that is widely used in folklore and clinical practice. In recent years, wild populations have been severely impacted to the point of extinction due to over-harvesting and reclamation. Therefore, artificial cultivation is important to relieve the pressure of market demand and protect wild plant resources. Using a "3414" fertilization design, i.e., 3 factors (N, P, and K), 4 levels, and 14 fertilization treatments, with 3 replicates and a total of 42 experimental plots, A. tanguticus was harvested in October 2020, June 2021, August 2021, and October 2021, and the yield and alkaloid content were determined. The study aimed to provide a theoretical basis and technical reference for the standardization of A. tanguticus cultivation. Biomass accumulation and alkaloid content showed a trend of increasing and then decreasing with the application of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, and the biomass accumulation was the highest at the application levels of nitrogen and phosphorus in T6 and T9 and at the application levels of medium and low potassium. The alkaloid content showed an increasing trend between October of the first year and June of the second year and a decreasing trend in the second year with the increase in the harvesting period. Yield and alkaloid yield showed a decreasing trend between October of the first year and June of the second year and an increasing trend in the second year with the increase in the harvesting period. The recommended application rates are 225–300 kg/ha2 for nitrogen, 850–960 kg/ha2 for phosphorus, and 65–85 kg/ha2 for potassium. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

China is currently in a rapid urbanization phase, and road traffic accidents occur frequently, with vulnerable road users often being easily injured. Traditional road traffic safety research often focuses on environmental and structural safety issues or considers human factors as the cause of accidents. This study organized 30 vulnerable road users to travel in a quadrangular road area in the Wudaokou area of Beijing, collected language data from the subjects for analysis, and attempted to apply schema theory and the perceptual cycle model from the field of cognitive psychology to analyze the perception and decision-making processes of vulnerable road users, thus discovering accident risks in the traffic environment and their underlying causes from the perspective of vulnerable road users. The study found that factors such as disorderly placement of shared bicycles, food delivery vehicles occupying the road, damaged road infrastructure, and unreasonable road design affect traffic safety and order, and proposes targeted improvement suggestions.
